3 What Your Oncologist Hasn’t Told You

A Word From the Author… Y

our Oncologist is Kind, Caring and Absolutely wonderful but…You Need to Know

the 9 Critical Things he/she Hasn’t Told You…that could Save Your Life.

There are more “things” that you may need to know that you won’t hear from your doctor. Your doctor just doesn’t have the time for, nor the expertise in, integrative healing. Just about every cancer can be slowed or the patient can experience a quality of life and extend survival time or remission by utilizing strategies that your doctor does not specialize in.

Your NAPCC cancer coach does. He or she is here to help you learn about the intricacies and the complexities of your individual diagnosis that could mean the difference. We want you to enjoy an extraordinary quality of life – it is possible. Is this what you would like also? Contact the Nu Healings Nutrition today to enjoy a totally new experience in cancer care.

ontrary to what your doctor may tell you, there is absolutely no reason to rush into treatment in most cases. Patients always have time to look over their options and decide what is best in preparation for treatment. Two weeks is all you should really need.

Here at Nu Healings we will help you to learn those options and apply them two weeks prior to treatment in order to affect a more positive recovery

Your cancer coach can explain to you in plain words what is available to you as you move forward with surgery, chemo or radiation. You will be provided with the scientific backing related to these options in order to bring them to the attention of your oncologist.

Your Doctor May Not Tell You Important Things You Should Know about Your Surgery

Surgical Oncologists sacrifice patient recovery through surgery induced immune-suppression that is easily avoided with a prescription pad and chemo-sensitivity testing

6 What Your Oncologist Hasn’t Told You

Things that your cancer coach thinks you should know. Don’t blame your doctor though, because chances are, he doesn’t have the time, nor has he been trained to offer this kind of information to you. Here are some of things we will cover with you in the full coaching program:

How Tumors Grow

How Removing One Tumor May Stimulate the Growth of Many More

How to Enter Clinical Trials How to Protect Against Surgery-

Induced Immune Suppression How to Avoid Analgesic Drugs

That Promote Metastasis.

You will also learn about tumor sensitivity testing necessary (prior to surgery) to obtain the right chemotherapeutic drugs if later prescribed…and how to manage or eliminate the following side effects and risk factors of cancer surgery:

· Infection · Adhesions · Thrombophlebitis · Anesthetic COMPLICATIONS · Pain and SWELLING · Constipation plus HEALING and IMMUNITY SUPPORT.

The standard analgesic drug for post-operative pain impedes a speedy recovery and depletes the patient’s immune system

7 What Your Oncologist Hasn’t Told You

Many studies demonstrate that surgery suppresses immune function. In fact, surgical stress directly reduces natural killer cell activity and other immune factors.

After cancer surgery the patient often experiences pain and requests an analgesic drug for immediate relief. The problem with these drugs is that they impair immune function, specifically NK activity, lymphocyte-macrophage production and other key immune cytokines. It is during this postsurgical period that healthy immune function is required to kill cancer cells that have escaped from the primary tumor and are seeking to set up metastatic colonies.

Your Doctor May Not Tell You Vital Things You Should Know about Your Chemotherapy

When you have been told it’s time to schedule your chemotherapy, hopefully you will have heard what we had to say earlier about tumor sensitivity testing. In order to receive the best chemotherapy drugs for you, you need to have the tumors that were removed by your surgical oncologist tested. Special labs are available in Canada and the USA that will test each chemotherapy drug on your

tumors, to see which one kills the cancer the fastest thereby removing unnecessary and debilitating side effects to you.

Many oncologists don’t know about the MiCK Assay and traditional cancer labs do not perform these tests simply because of expense. Cancer coaches have the ability to provide you and your doctor with the most current up to

date information on this special testing of your tumors to

affect the fastest and healthiest recovery for you. If you decide to forgo this testing, your coach will show you how to mitigate chemo- therapeutic side effects, such as debilitating nausea, hair loss (yes, you can avoid hair loss) and how to avoid dangerous risk factors such as anemia, coagulation abnormalities, bone loss and angiogenesis (growth of cancer cells), and how to enhance chemotherapy efficacy through various nutrient and lifestyle pathways; certainly a better overall experience for you.

Your Doctor May Not Tell You Essential Things You Should Know about Your Radiation Therapy

Radiation Therapy is more dangerous than patients realize. It is known to cause

immunosuppression, secondary cancers, sexual dysfunction, increased stroke risk and more. It is a cancer cure that may be lethal.

Most types of radiation do not attack cancer cells specifically, and therefore cause injury to normal tissues surrounding the tumor. More than 70 percent of patients treated for cancer of the prostate, bladder, and other malignancies in the pelvic region develop acute inflammatory gastrointestinal mucositis. Other side effects and risk factors include hair loss, liver damage, radiation-induced fibrosis, lymphedema, nerve and kidney toxicity, radiation necrosis, oral complications and so much more. A cancer coach will show you ways to avoid or reduce each of these side effects and risks. The adverse effects are a major factor limiting the success of radiation treatment. Radiation is a potent carcinogen that can give rise to a second radiation-induced cancer. There are strategies to optimize radiotherapy response.

Treatment outcomes may be improved by correcting anemia, for example. Tumor gene analysis can play a role in predicting the successful outcome or not of radiation therapy and antioxidant therapy has been shown to enhance radiation effectiveness. Learn what this means for you, when you visit your cancer coach.

Women treated with radiation therapy following mastectomy for left-sided breast cancer, which involves exposure of the heart, have been shown to have an increased frequency of cardiovascular disease.

Your Doctor May Not Tell You that a Change is Necessary in Your Diet and Lifestyle as it will Encourage a Faster, Safer Recovery.

Modifying diet and lifestyle may encourage prevention of the very risk factors that are contributing to your cancer and any possible recurrence. Cancer doctors are categorized as medical oncologists, surgical oncologists and radiation oncologists. Therefore they will not tell you that you have to change your diet or your lifestyle because they wouldn’t know what to tell you to change.

They are not specialists in cancer

social health for cancer patients. This is the specialty of the cancer coach – and this is called Integrative Oncology. We

show you how to reactivate your body’s

amazing ability to heal through diet, lifestyle and mind/body healing with or without, chemo, radiation and surgery.

Patients travelling this journey with their cancer coach will be provided with a surgery specific nutrition plan, a chemo specific nutrition plan and a radiation specific nutrition plan. Each of these phases are undertaken as the body faces new challenges in nutritional needs, congruent to his/her healing.

10 What Your Oncologist Hasn’t Told You

A therapeutic diet and

nutri^^t^^ion, optimal lifestyles or psycho- supplement regime can

play a significant role in not only prevention, but

also recovery

Because your oncologist is not trained in nutritional supplements as they relate to prevention of metastasis and apoptosis, he is going to, in most cases, deny your use of them. It is true that some supplements may interfere with some chemotherapy drugs, and we will expertly advise you which ones these are. However, in most cases, proper nutritional supplementation will enhance and speed your recovery. In some cases, they may even play a significant role in saving your life.

In fact, supplements have become one of the most effective tools when trying to build a broken immune system, regain energy and alleviate dangerous side effects and risk factors from treatment. They help to defeat secondary and recurrent cancers.

Therapeutic supplementation can alleviate many of the side effects, risk factors and secondary cancers that stem from chemo, radiation and

surgery.

Your Doctor May Not Tell You, that Therapeutic Supplementation Supports a Healthy Cancer Journey.

Not all supplements are created equal. Quality standards greatly affect how and whether a supplement is absorbed and used by your body. Your holistic nutritionist will help you identify the right brands and dosage.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medical treatments. They can vary greatly from one person to another but can be deadly. Addressing and preventing harm caused by side effects is the key to facilitate a speedy remission.

The number one, most prevalent and deadly side effect of chemotherapy is anemia and there are Chemotherapeutic Interventions that can save the patient’s life if prescribed soon enough.

Treatment side effects are simply abandoned

The Role of Supplements in Addressing and Preventing Side Effects

Cancer patients are dying needlessly as a result of poor attention to anemic conditions, bone health, hormonal imbalances, vitamin D levels and more.

The goal of Nutritional Supplementation and orthomolecular medicine is to restore the body’s optimal environment by correcting imbalances or deficiencies based on individual biochemistry.

13 What Your Oncologist Hasn’t Told You

Mainstream medical treatment of cancer revolves around therapies that damage healthy cells with often debilitating side effects, frequently forcing patients to abandon treatment. Therefore it’s not surprising that many cancer patients now opt to complement conventional treatments with alternative therapies that may temper adverse side effects and also improve effectiveness.

Nutrition

•If you have cancer, you may be well aware of the link between the foods you eat and your risk of cancer. But for those of you who don’t, suffice it to say that virtually everything you put into (or onto) your body can either help or hinder your natural healing mechanisms, and thereby influence your risk of cancer and recovery.

•This is not an “alternative” view at all. Rather, even the conservative Canadian Cancer Society states that:

•About one-third of all cancers can be prevented by eating well, being active and maintaining a healthy body weight.

•The science is clear: it’s the overall pattern of living that’s important. You can lower your risk if you move more, stay lean and eat plenty of vegetables and fruit, as well as other plant foods such as whole grains and beans.

•Learn what you should be doing to strengthen, support and help recover your cancer.

When used properly nutritional supplementation can enhance the effectiveness of conventional cancer treatments, boost the immune system, and improve the patient’s quality of (and control over) life.

Many cancer patients take supplemental nutrition during cancer treatment to alleviate treatment toxicities and to improve well-being.

The environment influences every aspect of our health. Cancer is an environmental disease. Doctors don’t consider this in the overall treatment of patient healing.

Many environmental factors are well-known to cause cancer

The use of pesticides on fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds and grains

Exposure to air pollutants such as the chemical benzene, which is in gasoline. Inhaling fumes that contain benzene could increase your chances of getting cancer

Exposure to electric and magnetic fields on a daily basis

Increasing exposure to radiation (from medical tests to microwave oven use) And more

14 What Your Oncologist Hasn’t Told You

Once a patient’s trio of medical treatments is complete, the patient is not provided with any guidance on how to live their life going forward.

The high risk and rate of patient mortality is due to oncologists not performing what should be routine preventive care with the patient

What can a cancer coach do for you?

15 What Your Oncologist Hasn’t Told You

As your coach, I will assess your nutritional status for excesses or deficiencies. Based on your weakest organ(s) or system(s) in the body on a gradient scale, along with your diagnosis, extended health concerns and the therapeutic drugs you have been prescribed, a personalized

supplement plan will be prepared for you. It will be safe and effective in assisting the body at regaining strength, energy and a dynamite immune system. You will be asked to kindly advise your oncologist of the nutrient and supplemental plan we have developed for you. All supplement recommendations will take into full account and be specific to the cancer diagnosis and treatment plan.

The NAPCC was registered as a federal non-profit association in October 2008. We provide non-profit cancer education to patients world-wide, with coaches established in many

countries around the world.

I work with men and women who need clarity (simplicity) on what they should be eating and what supplements they can and should be taking when faced with cancer.
