Managing Your Time to Success

About The Dabble Dipper

Hi Everyone!

Firstly, Thank You for downloading this piece and do let me know if you are find it helpful in the application which we will discuss in the later part.

I created The Dabble Dipper with the intention of sharing my past and current ventures, some advices and experiences in starting small online businesses.

As the site name suggests, I have been dabbling in varied ventures since 2010. To date, I have tried my hands on article and content writing, tutoring, setting up tuition agency, opened a fashion clothing business online and set up an engineering & trading company.

All these were done on the side while holding a full time job.

While I have identified my core purpose, I currently also explore other fields and aim to open up more to the society by bringing more values and meaningful products and services.

In this book, I will be sharing about how we can achieve Success with proper Time Management.

Do feel free to recommend, if after reading this book, you find it helpful and can be useful to others.

Thank you. 

Dabble 01 – Printable Quotes

I took up ink painting course early 2015 and immediately fell in love with ink and brush. I lose myself in time and space immersing in each drawing and lettering.

I sell some of them on Etsy via my handle ‘zVioletz Art’. I’m also active on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter =)

Dabble 03 | Travel Writing

Travelling is something that I have never stopped thinking about and I am constantly looking for ways and means to pack my bag and go. I relish travelling alone; I love planning for trips and have no qualms in taking off on short notice.

Dabble 04 | Writing Short Stories

Sometimes, during my evening jogs, I find my thoughts wandering here and there. To get it out, I write. This is also something I have done a lot in the past. I remember the first time I got my desktop about fifteen years back when I was still a school kid. The only thing I do with my computer (without internet) was to [+ write short stories+].

So you know I’ve dabbled a lot, WHILE being employed full time. Then why hadn’t things work out?

I mean, you must be thinking if I was able to manage so many side hustles, why have I not gone famous or richer?

I would like to add, in the midst of all these ventures, I do love my job because it gives me the autonomy and freedom, and learning opportunities that are in line with my values.

The reason I did not stick to my ventures was that I had no idea WHY I started these ventures (I shared this on my blog post “WHY I started this Site as The Dabble Dipper”). Sure, one of the goals was to be profitable, but looking past the money, what did those ventures mean to me?

The most profitable business I set up was the engineering and trading firm, but that was all there was to the business. There was no meaningful purpose behind it. I had experience and was good at it, but what difference did it have compared to working for another employer? So I folded it.

The most meaningful job I have ever taken up was tutoring. It gratified me at the end of each term and I love so much the expressions of children when they actually ‘get it’. The reason I ended it was that I was relocating and was traveling a lot so I could not commit. Lest my students’ grade suffer.

Having said that, I found my life purpose working around children. I still tutor on ad hoc basis without charges, and each time I felt more satisfying and it energizes me, even after a long day in office.

There are many of us still searching for their life works, purpose or calling, or whatever we call it.

If you are still looking for yours, I suggest you do a thorough search within yourself and ask yourself deep questions.

So many times, I hit a dead end when I asked myself ‘Why is the purpose of my existence’, ‘What do I want with my life’, etc. There are many ways of asking yourself these questions.

There are also numerous coaches out there who can guide you.

Personally, I think that each of these questions are valid, it is just the way they are phrased to resonate with you.

For instance, when I asked ‘Why am I here for’, I get no answers back from within.

When I asked, “What do I want to do with my life?” I get loads of things I want to do, then I delve into “WHY?” so many times after each ‘WHYs’ to get deeper.

Find out your WHYs. Ask yourself these questions:

p<>{color:#000;}. What are you doing with your life now? (or)

p<>{color:#000;}. What do you want to do with your life?

p<>{color:#000;}. Why do you want to do what you want?

p<>{color:#000;}. Do you feel strongly for it?

p<>{color:#000;}. Is it for a cause you believe in?

p<>{color:#000;}. What makes you feel that you need to do what you do?

p<>{color:#000;}. What resonate so strongly with you that you just have to do it?

It is all in you.
