Chapter 1: The Health Benefits Of Consuming Fruit Infused Water

A research conducted by The Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital has shown that the consumption of water is one of the key constituents of a healthy diet and aides in an effective and healthy weight loss.

According to the study, the consumption of water increases the resting energy expenditure (REE) by almost 25% and holds it there for a good 40 minutes.

To put it simply, when you drink water your body increases the rate at which it burns calories, even when you are not doing any activity!

According to experts, an average individual should consume no less than 64 ounces of water in a day. But, one of the main issues faced by people is that “water tastes boring”. These people try to compensate for their lack of liquid consumption by consuming calorie rich sodas. These sodas are not just empty calories without any nutritional value – they also are the leading cause for the massive increase in diabetes cases in America!

But now, we have a solution for this problem: Fruit Infused Water.

Fruit infused water provides you with all the benefits of water (plus nutrition from the fruits) without the same old boring taste of plain water.

Fruit infused water contains no extra calories, no artificial sweeteners or ingredients and is rich in nutrition. This means that you can consume large quantities of fruit infused water without the fear of weight gain or increased blood sugar levels.

Here are some basic benefits of consuming fruit infused water:

  1. {color:#1C1C1C;}Increased and enhanced metabolism
  2. {color:#1C1C1C;}Aids in the release and consumption of the fat cells in the body
  3. {color:#1C1C1C;}Flushes out all the built up toxins from your body
  4. {color:#1C1C1C;}Reduces post workout muscle fatigue
  5. {color:#1C1C1C;}Aids in faster recovery post work out
  6. {color:#1C1C1C;}Protects your organs from damage due to excessive sweating
  7. {color:#1C1C1C;}Keeps you active throughout the day
  8. {color:#1C1C1C;}Fills you up, effectively reducing the urge to consume junk food

The best fruit infused water is the one that you will consume the most. For an effective weight loss and detox it is necessary that you consume large amounts of water; almost double of the daily requirement! The consumption of fruit infused water makes it easy for you to consume such large quantities of water without breaking a sweat!

As you increase your daily consumption of water you will realize that you feel stronger, fresher and radiant. All these are signs of a healthy liver and a toxin free body and this good habit will slowly help you in losing weight and living a healthy life!

A well hydrated inside positively reflects on the outside with slowed ageing, glowing and radiant skin, slowed wrinkle formation and a supple, soft and crack-free skin. Another by-product of a hydrated body is stronger and shinier hair and strong nails.

Fruit infused water is a boon for all those who want to lose weight and not spend a bomb on expensive “nutrient waters” or supplementary nutrient tablets. Fruit infused water also doubles up as a low calorie snack and is a lot healthier than the “low calorie” snacks available in the market today. It is satiating, nutrient rich and does not contain any empty calories.

Fruit infused water is the Chuck Norris of healthy food!

Chapter 2: How To Prepare Fruit Infused Water

Preparing fruit infused water is extremely quick and easy and does not involve a lot of prepping or fussing.

To prepare fruit infused water, the first thing you need to choose is your core ingredients. Despite its name, fruit infused water doesn’t always contain just fruits and often contains a mix of fruits, spices, herbs, edible flowers and sometimes even a few vegetables.

Here are some examples of ingredients that can be used to prepare fruit infused water:

[*Fruits: *]Melons, pears, apples, blueberries, oranges, lemons

[*Spices: *]Fresh ginger, cardamom pods, vanilla bean, cinnamon sticks, cloves

[*Herbs: *]Thyme, basil, parsley, rosemary, mint, cilantro

[*Edible Flowers: *]Lavender, hibiscus, pansies, rose, citrus blossoms, violets (just ensure that the flowers are pesticide free)

[*Vegetables: *]Celery, carrots, fennel, cucumber

It is preferable that you use purified water, but if you do not own a filtration system, tap water is good to go.

Steps To Prepare Fruit Infused Water

  1. {color:#1C1C1C;}[*Choosing your container: *]You can use a lidded glass bottle, a mason jar or a pitcher to prepare your fruit infused water. Just lightly rinse the container with some tap water and you are ready to go.

  1. {color:#1C1C1C;}[*Gather the ingredients: *]Bring together all the ingredients according to the recipe that you are following. It is up to you if you want to peel the fruits or leave them unpeeled. Make sure that all the ingredients you choose are fresh and have no bruises on them or are not too overly ripe. Chop your ingredients into thin slices or small cubes to make the infusion faster. If you are not peeling your fruit or vegetable, it is advisable that you ensure that your produce is pesticide and insecticide free, and give them a good scrubbing before use.

  1. {color:#1C1C1C;}[*Putting it together: *] Fill up your container with cool water and add the ingredients to it. Or you can add the ingredients to the bottom of the container and pour chilled water over it. A lot of times, it is preferred to lightly muddle the ingredients with a pestle or with the back of a spoon so that the ingredients infuse with the water faster and have a more pungent taste. It is advisable to add some crushed ice to the mix so that your fruit and vegetable remain fresh for a longer time.

  1. {color:#1C1C1C;}[*Cover & set aside: *]Cover your container with a lid and leave it at room temperature for an hour or so and then let it rest in the fridge for another few hours. This ensures that the flavors are well infused; giving you tasty fruit infused water. If you do not plan on immediately drinking the fruit infused water, skip the step where you let it stand at room temperature and immediately refrigerate it. This ensures that the fruits stay fresh.

  1. {color:#1C1C1C;}[*Drink & Refill: *]After a few hours pour yourself a glass of chilled infused water and have a drink. You can even refill your container with more water and allow it to infuse again, but this time around the flavors will not be as pronounced as before.

There you have it, the quickest and easiest way to get your hands on some delicious fruit infused water, without investing in any fancy equipment!
