Yes, there are thousands of books on Amazon but there are also millions of readers for these books. And even better than that, there are other book formats that aren’t as saturated as kindle books.

Let me give you an example:

If I go right now to Amazon Kindle and search for “Passive Income” I’ll get 1,980 results, that’s a LOT of competition. No thank you!

But, what if I search for “Passive Income” under paperback books? 766 results, that’s not too bad!

But here’s the kicker, if I search for “Passive Income” under audiobooks, there’s only 101 results! Bingo!

Get the idea?

It’s possible to make a lot of money, you just need to be more willing to adapt than before. You’re not going to get rich overnight, but you can make a full-time living if you are intelligent about it.

Writers, like you and I, are often very romantic about our book. We enjoy writing, cherish it, and want to help our readers get what they want, or just entertain them. Chapter 1

Why Most Authors Fail: 9 Common Mistakes

1. Not doing any market research prior to writing the book

A book needs people to buy it. It needs an audience. It needs to solve a specific problem. If you just write a book without researching about your audience, then you’re walking in the dark. Sure, you might “make it”, but why not improve your strategy and save you months of hard work?

Look at the last book you wrote, who is your audience? What problem is the book helping them with? What’s your customer’s avatar? What’s their gender, age, job, socioeconomic status, etc.

You need to have at least a basic idea of who you’re writing to and who you’re selling to.

2. No marketing strategy

You could write the best book in the world and it’ll be a complete flop without marketing it. There’s a lot of noise in the world and you need to have a solid strategy to overcome it. I’ll help you in this book learn how to get your book in front of more potential buyers.

3. Not selling the book right on Amazon

Too many writers spend months and years writing their perfect book. Yet, when it comes to uploading the book listing on Amazon, they spend 20 minutes to write a basic description, keywords, and create a cheap book cover.

Your book’s listing page on Amazon is your sales page. Give it the respect and attention it deserves if you want to get many more sales. People don’t buy when they read the fancy paragraph you wrote in chapter #5, they buy when they read your book’s description page on Amazon.

4. Not getting at least 10 Amazon reviews on their book

The number of reviews and their average rating is one of the most important factors when it comes to selling your books. Getting the first 10 reviews is crucial to your success. Giving the buyer some sort of proof to buy your book makes a big difference. The first 10 reviews are the most important ones, and in this book, I’ll show you how you can get them.

5. Not uploading their Kindle book as a paperback book and an audiobook on Amazon

There’s a lot of money to be make with paperback and audiobook formats. You’ve already wrote a great book, it’s already solving a problem that your readers need help with. Why not put 30 more minutes and upload it as paperback? Maybe invest $100-$1,000 to upload it as an audiobook? In many cases, you’ll have less competition to worry about.

6. Giving up after the first 1-3 books don’t do well.

A writer is a writer is a writer. You can’t expect to write 3 books and instantly make sales every day. This is a process, and you’ll get better at it over time. Use the methods described in this book and keep writing and improving. If being a writer is important to you then you should give it the attention it deserves. And that could mean 6,8 or 10 books that are a complete flop. But that’s ok, because when you have a book that sells, nobody cares how many books you wrote that didn’t sell.

7. Writing a boring book

Let me give you a good guideline that I try to follow myself: If you’re not enjoying writing the book, then your readers won’t enjoy reading it. It’s that simple. Try to make it a little bit more interesting. Add a quote at the top of every chapter. Share a story. Write in a conversational tone as if you’re talking to a friend. Organize your text in a more visually appealing way, etc.

8. Taking too long to write the book

Trying to be perfect is procrastination in disguise. Always remember than done is better than perfect. You can always edit the book and improve it down the road. I view my books as a constant work in progress. Because they are. Try to make your book 80% perfect, most chances are your readers won’t notice it as much.

I know someone that spent a year writing a perfect book about dating. When he was finally ready to release the book, it failed miserably. You know what my friend did after that? 9. Not willing to adapt and test things

The book the Four-Hour Workweek, spent more than 4 years on The New York Times Best Seller List. The best part? It was initially rejected by 26 out of 27 book publishers. Why? There are many reasons, but one of them was that it had a terrible title at first. It was initially called “drug dealing for fun and profit”. Yes, I’m serious.

Be willing to try new things with your book, come up with 10 titles and ask your friends or audience for feedback, you’d be surprised at what title will win. Again, don’t view your book as a finished product, keep making it better and better over time.

Chapter 2

*How to Write a Bestselling Book Without Losing Your Sanity *

If I were hit by a bus the day after I turned in the manuscript, would I be happy with this as my legacy?” – Tim Ferriss

So how do you write a bestseller? Well, in this chapter we’re going to go deeper into the topic and breakdown Tim Ferriss did it as a first-time author.

1. Read the 5-10 most popular books in your chosen topic, and figure out why people love or hate them (i.e. read the reviews)

If you read the top 3 books in your topic, then you’re already more knowledgeable than 95% of people on that topic. BUT, if you also read the reviews for these books, you’ll know what these books are missing. This is an opportunity for you to fill that gap and help people. Remember, to write a best-selling book, you need to solve a big problem for your audience, especially when it comes to writing non-fiction.

Ideally, you should have an idea for what your book is going to be about, and then you want to create a book outline and see what people need help with. Note what you like in your competitor’s books and what you don’t like, and what the readers want. This is vital.

When doing the research for The Millionaire Writer, I read 3 books on the topic of writing and making money as an author. I read book reviews and what they had to say. This helped tremendously in carving out the book. This book was also the book that I wanted to read myself and that hasn’t been written yet. So naturally I started learning about the topic and wrote down my notes, and eventually decided to compile them into a book. Pretty cool, right?

2. Write as if you’re writing an Email to two close friends, have their story in mind

You want to write in a conversational tone and imagine you’re talking to two friends of yours that are struggling with the topic you’re writing about. This will help you focus on helping them and make the book’s language more appealing to them. You can find out if truly every part of your book is necessary to your reader.

3. Edit like crazy

Tim Ferriss is notorious for being obsessed with his book editing. The following is taken from a blog post called [+ “12 Lessons Learned While Marketing The Four-Hour Body”+]:

After submitting a book, an author will typically get two revision rounds before it goes to print. Tim somehow managed to squeeze out SIX rounds of edits for a 600-page book. By the sixth round, he was still suggesting several hundred minor edits, fine-tuning each page. Even though his publisher probably (definitely) hated him for this, he ended up with the groundbreaking book he envisioned.”

Neil Strauss, a 7-time New York Times best-selling author, says the same thing. Editing your book is what makes the difference from a good book to an amazing book. It’s difficult, annoying, tiring, and honestly, it’s what separates a good writer from a great one.

The same applies to your blogs posts, and every piece of content that you produce in general.

How Neil Strauss edits a book

Neil says that he does 3 rounds of editing when writing a book.

Round #1 – For the writer – You simply put all the ideas you have in writing. You put in all out there. It’s not pretty or well edited. But now you make sure that you took everything that was floating in your head into a piece of paper. Now you can start carving out your masterpiece.

Round #2 – For the reader – Now you go over the book and discard anything that’s not useful or interesting to the reader. Ideally, you want to be unable to remove a paragraph from the book without making the book incomplete. Every sentence in the book must count. Imagine thousands of readers going through your book, reading over and over the same unnecessary paragraphs that you didn’t remove. This is important.

Round #3 – For the hater – Now you want to hater-proof the book. How do you do that? Simply by reading your book and answering every question that the critics might have. Answer their problem inside the book, provide proof, details, etc.

4. Headlines matter, big time

The goal of your headline is to get the reader to read the first line. And then the goal of the first line is to get the reader to the second line, and so on. Your headlines tell a story, make it an interesting one.

How to come up with great headlines? You can view digg.com or Tim Ferriss blog posts’ headlines. Here’s a few examples to get you started:

Try to make it more interesting, call out the reader, include specific numbers, paint a visual picture. Take your original headline and think how you can make it more interesting and make people click it.

5. Make every chapter of the book a stand-alone chapter that you can later use as a guest post when the promoting the book

This is powerful. Not only you’re writing a book, but you can later use parts of it as blog posts on your blog or as guest blog posts to create buzz for the book. When writing the book, make sure that every chapter makes sense, and it’s clear what it’s about. This also makes the book better because it becomes a “choose-your-own-adventure” book, meaning the reader can choose what they want to get out of the book.

In this book for example, maybe you’ll be interested more in creating an audiobook or a book trailer than you would be in writing a best seller book. Or maybe you’re struggling to get your blog off the ground and you don’t care much about writing better books, etc.

6. Make your book entertaining and easy to read

“I just write what I wanted to write. I write what amuses me. It’s totally for myself” – J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter book series

You want to help the reader, but you must make it more fun for him to get help from you. A good guideline is to have fun while writing your book, don’t get too serious about it. Your reader can close your book at any moment and go on to watch funny cat videos on YouTube.

Share personal stories, quotes, images, highlight specific parts, use sub-headlines, bullet-points, etc. When it comes to making the book easy to read, you want the reader to be able to skim through the book, skip the boring parts, while still being able to get the main point you’re trying to say.

What you don’t want is walls of text. Make it fun and easy for the reader. Hug the reader, call them out, ask a rhetorical question, create a connection with them. They’ll love you for it.

Chapter 3

Market Like a Bestselling Author: How Tim Ferriss Got the 4 Hour Workweek to Sell

A best-seller was a book which somehow sold well because it was selling well.” ― Daniel J. Boorstin

Ah, the million-dollar question. For those of you who don’t know, the Four-Hour Workweek is a bestselling book that sold more than 1,350,000 copies and was translated into 35 languages. The best part? Before writing the book, the author, Tim Ferriss, was mostly unknown. So how the heck did he do it?

But there’s a lot of information there, so I’m going to make it easy for you and share the overall view of how he did it.

Before we get started

First of all, you must make sure that your book is really an amazing, well-written book. I cover that in another part of this book.

In this section, I’ll focus on the marketing part.

1. Meeting bloggers face to face

What Tim did, was after writing his book, the four-hour workweek, he went to conferences where he could meet bloggers who had an established audience. Tim would talk to them face to face but he wasn’t pushy about selling the book. Instead, he listened to what they had to say, and would occasionally mention that he had written a book. If the blogger would ask him for more information, Tim would then tell him about the book, and about a specific chapter (10-30 pages) that will be useful to the blogger. He’ll then give them a free copy of the book and later would ask if they’d like to do a blog post or interview about the book. Tim even offered to write a guest post on their blog with a link to his upcoming book at the end.

But Tim made sure first that the blogger and his audience were 100% his target audience, meaning they would benefit from the book. He didn’t want to waste time targeting the wrong people. He was very effective.

But why target bloggers?

Bloggers are early adopters that can have a huge audience that loves and trusts them. They’re a lot more likely to cover an unknown book than a newspaper or a media website. That’s because bloggers are a 1-man team, meaning they’re much easier to influence than a 20-men team of a newspaper. It’s a lot more targeted as well, since most blogs have a defined audience.

Tim’s basic approach was “give your book for free to people that are going to talk about it”. That could be a sub-Reddit forum on your book’s topic, a blog, podcast, YouTube channel, etc.

2. The coordinated explosion effect

Once Tim had a series of interviews, guest blog posts and media covers for his upcoming book, he told everyone to publish the content during a specific 1-2-week period in which the four-hour workweek would be released. That would later create a huge buzz around the book and give it the domino effect, attracting bigger and bigger media covers. In addition to that, it’ll make it seem that the book is so good because everyone is covering it.

That’s why it appeared that the four-hour work week came out of the blue, when it fact, there was a lot of work previously done by Tim Ferriss.

Tim later went on to use the exact same technique with all his books and had massive success.

3. An E-mail to an influencer you’ve never met

If you want to Email influencers and not go to conferences just to meet them, you can use this Email as a template. This is an example Email you can use when promoting your own book. It’s written by Charlie Hoehn, author of a best-selling book called “Play it Away”. He used it to get guest posts and media covers for his upcoming book. Here it is:

Hi [author I admire],

I’m the author of the book Play It Away: A Workaholic’s Cure for Anxiety. The reason I’m emailing is because I’m an enormous fan of your writing, and I would love to give you a copy of my book. It’s based on a popular article I wrote about play, called How I Cured My Anxiety (#2 search result on Google for “cure anxiety,” underneath Oprah.com). The article has already helped more than 100,000 anxiety sufferers rediscover the importance of play, and I’m hoping my book will help many more.

What all these strategies have in common?

Did you notice the pattern? All these strategies are difficult and require time and effort. Writing a best-selling book isn’t easy, nor it should be. Tim was extremely smart and effective about the way he went to market his book, but he also worked extremely hard to get it to succeed. I’d like to invite you to embrace the same mentality.

When it comes to writing your book, it’s not just about writing a great book, it’s also about marketing and selling it like it’s a best-selling book.

Chapter 4

Stop Leaving Money on the Table: How to Make More Money from Your Book on the Back End

It’s a lot cheaper to sell to an existing customer than to acquire a new one”

If you want to make more money from your books then you want to get more sales, but you also want to earn more money from every sale. And I’m going to show you how.

First of all, you want to think of your book as the entry point to your funnel. Your new buyer didn’t know you before, and now he’s learning from you, and reading your book. Hopefully, he’s somewhat impressed with you and thinks highly of you. Maybe he even wants to learn more from you and buy more products that you sell.

The deeper your buyer goes in the funnel the more money he’s happy to pay you and the more value he’ll receive from you.

So, what’s a back end? A back end is anything that you offer your reader inside your book, whether it’s free or paid.

I’m going to cover how you can monetize your “back-end” as we call it in marketing. There are a few ways to do it:

1. Email-list

You want to get your reader’s Email address so that you could start creating a relationship with him, provide more value, and improve your relationship over time. Ideally, by the time that you’re selling a product, your reader should be dying to get more information from you and will be happy to pay.

So, how do you get your reader’s Email?

You can create a lead magnet offer, a free gift, in exchange for your reader’s Email, and you mention it in the beginning and in the end of your book. Your free gift can be a free book, video series, report, etc.

Once your reader is in your Email list you want to send him a series of automated Emails. That’s called a follow up sequence. Generally, you want to offer him a lot of value and occasionally ask him to buy some product you promote. You could also announce any books you’re releasing or book promotions to get the crucial first sales to rank your books high in the Amazon store when they come out.

Your Email list is one of your most important assets, so make sure to create a great relationship with your list, they’re your most loyal followers.

2. Cross promote your other books

This is super simple, at the end of every book you want to add a section that’s called “Other books by the author”, and there you can list all the books you wrote. If your reader liked your book, there’s a good chance they’ll want to check out other books you wrote. You can see how I do it at the end of this book.

You can also mention your books during your actual book, often if you wrote about a solution but it’s outside the scope of the current book. You can see how I’ve done it right now when I recommended my book about Email Marketing if you wanted to learn more about the subject.

You want to be careful not to overuse this strategy as you can come across as too pushy. Use it only where it really fits and helps your reader.

3. Promote online products as an affiliate in your Email list

This is a bit more advanced, but basically you want to choose a product that could help your reader and then sell it in your Email list. This is called affiliate marketing. Every time someone buys the product via your affiliate link, you get a commission for it, usually around 25%-75% of the sale.

Only promote products that you would buy yourself and that truly help your customer and not just make money for you.

Sidenote: It’s against Amazon’s rules to insert affiliate links inside your books. What I recommend is to post links to your Email list’s opt-in page. Then, sell the products inside your Email list, which is 100% compliant with Amazon.

Example of product that I promote inside my Email List:

I promote an online course called K Money Mastery (dviroren.com/resources) which teaches how you can make money with book publishing. I purchased the course myself and use it with great success. My Email list wants to make money online so naturally this product is a great fit.

4. Offer online coaching

As your readers go through your book, some of them will look up to you, they’ll see that you’re very knowledgeable about the topic and that you want to help them. They might be more serious and interested in investing more money into improving and progressing faster.

That’s why some of them will be interested in working with you 1 on 1.

This method isn’t a passive stream of income but it has several benefits:

5. Sell your own product in your Email list

This is similar to selling affiliate products, but this time you sell your own products and get 100% of the profit. This obviously requires more time and effort on your part, but can be very rewarding in the long term. Personally, I haven’t created yet an online course to sell, simply because I don’t feel I’ve mastered any specific area yet. So, for now I simply promote affiliate products that I personally use and believe in.

Final notes:

These methods to monetize the backend should at least, at the bare minimum, double your earnings. When done right, it could help you make 10x more money from your books. Make it your goal to use 3 or 4 of these methods to monetize your books.

Chapter 5

But What if You Hate Writing? How to Outsource Your Books

I’ve decided to take advantage of outsourcing. My next novel will be written by a couple of guys in Bangalore, India” – Tom Robbins

You don’t have to write your own book. In fact, many busy CEO’s and celebrities don’t either. Instead, they hire a ghost writer to interview them and write the book for them. Smart, right?

When it comes to writing books, there are 2 main paths you can take:

1. The book writer router – Writing the books yourself. This is the traditional route authors take.

2. The book publisher route – Outsourcing the book creation and focusing on marketing your books and getting them sales.

Which way is right for you? I don’t know, only you can answer that question. Do you enjoy writing? Do you like the thought of having someone reading a book that you wrote and finding value in it? Or do you just approach it as a business? Personally, I chose to write my own books because I enjoy it, but you may be different.

I have had a few books written by a ghost writer before, and I’m going to share with you how you can do it. There are 2 main services that I’ve used and recommend to my readers:

I had good results with Epic Write, I thought the book quality was very good. I still didn’t get my book from the second service so it’s too early to tell.

To order a book, you simply give them the book title, subtitle, and a general description of what you want to have in the book, and how many words are in the book. You can even give them the chapter outline and they’ll write each chapter for you. It’s that simple.

Chapter 6

How to Create a Book Cover That Sells for Less Than $10

You probably heard of fiverr.com by now. If you haven’t, it’s a great website that sells digital services like design and book editing for cheap. In our case, we can use it to create a beautiful book cover.

To get started, simply head over to fiverr.com, and search for “Book Cover” and choose a gig that has a lot of positive reviews. I usually choose the top 2 gigs that have the most positive reviews and order one of them. It’s very simple.

BUT, we’ll have to make sure that we do it the right way.

What’s the right way?

Well, the way most authors choose to get their book cover made is to simply let the Fiverr designer choose what to do. They give him the title, sub-title, book author name, and have him figure out the rest.

That strategy might work some of the time, but if you want to ensure success you need to be as specific as possible with your gig order.

What I recommend is to find an existing book cover that you love on the Amazon store. Something that stands out from other books and gives you a feeling of “I want that” when you see it. Make sure also that that book is already selling and it has at least 50 Amazon reviews.

Once you have that book cover in mind, you want to create something similar. Remember, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Here’s an example of a book I wrote called “Passive Income Millionaire” (http://dviroren.com/passive-income-millionaire). I want to show you exactly how I created the book cover.

First, I found a designer on Fiverr that had a lot of positive reviews for book covers. Then I ordered one gig and submitted the order.

Here’s the order I submitted to the Fiverr designer:

Request: Please make a high quality flat cover for Kindle that stands out and will get attention. It’s important that the cover looks professional and really sells the book.

Subtitle: 7 Passive Income Streams Online To Make $200-10,000 A Month In 90 Days And Work From Home

Chapter 7

Create a Book Video Trailer for Less Than 20$

This is a big edge over the competition. How many authors do you know that have book trailers? Besides, book trailers are really cool and you can easily pass them around without seeming too pushy.

There are expensive professional book trailers that look more like movie trailers (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIVmsIJyj3A). It requires an entire production team.

Or, what we can do, is create simple book trailer for less than $20 on Fiverr.

To find a good gig on Fiverr for creating a book trailer simply search for “book trailer” and find a gig that has a lot of positive reviews.

You’ll often need to submit the following:

- Book cover image (use the cover you previously created for your Kindle cover)

- Book Title and Subtitle

- 1-2 reviews about the book to display during the video

- Genre, general details about the book, so the designer know what music to use, etc.

How to use the book trailer?

You can post it on YouTube, your blog, send it to your readers, and even post in on your Amazon’s [+ author’s page+] (http://amzn.to/2ifsyD4). It’s great for creating a buzz around your book.

Chapter 8

How to Create an Audiobook for Free (Even if you live outside the US/UK)

This is more complicated. But the more difficult it is to do something the less competition you’ll have. Remember the example I previously mentioned of the number of books in different formats? If I search “Passive Income” In the amazon store I find:

- 1,980 Kindle books

- 766 paperback book

- 101 audiobooks

To get started, you’ll need to create the audiobook, and then upload it to audible.com, which is an Amazon company. Then it’ll get listed on your Amazon’s book listing page.

There are a few ways you can create an audiobook:

p<>{color:#000;}. Get someone to record the audiobook for you. You could use ACX.com, voices.com or even Fiverr.com

p<>{color:#000;}. Record the audiobook yourself

p<>{color:#000;}. Split the profits 50-50 with a professional voice recorder on ACX.com and pay nothing upfront for your audiobook.

Recording the audiobook by yourself is not recommended, there’s a lot of work involved. You’ll need to setup a mini-studio to record the book, talk in a similar tone throughout the entire book, edit the sound footage to remove any breathing noises, etc. It’s not worth it in my opinion unless you already have a best-selling book that you know will be a success as an audiobook.

I recommend you pay someone to record the audiobook for you, but the price might vary. Sure, you could get it done for free and split the profits 50/50 with someone on ACX.com but then you’ll regret it in the long run if your book will do well. Generally speaking, for your first audiobook I recommend you get it done cheaply on Fiverr or split the profits 50/50 and get it done for free on ACX.com. Once you get an idea of the sales and incoming revenues, you’ll know what to choose next time.

Important Sidenote – You could be sitting on a gold mine without even knowing it

You can never know if a book will do well as an audiobook or not. I know people who have a Kindle book that makes less than $10/month but as a audiobook it makes $500/month or more.

How? Go figure. Audiobooks and Kindle books are completely different markets. Different competition, different audience, etc. Some types of books do better on Audible and vice versa.

The bottom line is you’ll never know how your book will do as an audiobook until you’ll test it.

How to create an audiobook if you live outside of the USA and the UK

Creating audiobooks and joining Audible is currently only available to citizens of the Unites States and the United Kingdom. But, there’s a workaround.

You’ll need a USA bank account and a US address. Luckily, in the modern age, that’s a lot easier than you’d think.

To do it you’ll need to open an online account with Payoneer.com and Reship.com.

Payoneer allows you to receive funds as if you have a US bank account and get paid, and Reship.com allows you to get a US address and reship any package to your real address anywhere in the world.

Problem solved, you are welcome ;)

It may sound like a lot of work, but the truth is, it’s very straight forward. Just sign up to both these services and then sign up to Audible.com with their details and go from there.

Remember, again, that it’s not so easy to do it, which is why there’s a lot less competition in the Audiobook market than there is in the Kindle book market.

Chapter 9

How to Convert Your Kindle Book into Paperback Format

This is surprisingly simple, and yet it could double your revenue. Some authors even report making more money from their paperback sales than they do from their Kindle book sales. So, there’s a lot of money left on the table if you don’t publish your book in paperback format.

To publish your book as paperback, first publish it as a Kindle book. Then, go to https://kdp.amazon.com/bookshelf and under your book’s listing you’ll see an option called “Create Paperback”. Simply click on it and follow the process to create a paperback book.

The instructions are mostly clear, and you’ll have a lot of details already filled because you created the book as a Kindle book. But there’s one thing that you’ll need to do. You’ll need to create a full-3D book cover with a front cover, back cover, and book spine.

To do that you have 2 options:

1. Get a full book cover done on Fiverr for $10-20

2. Do it yourself using Amazon’s Cover Creator. This is my preferred method of choice.

The way I use the cover creator is I use my existing kindle cover as the back cover, and then I write a book description and “about the author” on the back, and simply put the book’s name on the spine. Super simple.

Once you’re done, your paperback book will be live in the Amazon store within 24-72 hours. Congratulations! You can even buy a physical copy to show off to your friends.

Chapter 10

How to Get the First 10 Reviews Fast

You need reviews. The days when you could just upload a book to Amazon and have it start selling instantly are mostly gone. And asking your friends and family isn’t going to be a good idea either, because many times you’ll annoy them and they won’t know how to leave a review because they don’t use Amazon to read books, etc.

So how can you get reviews fast?

1. Facebook groups for exchanging book reviews

Join Facebook groups for review exchange and post there that you’re looking to exchange reviews for your book. The way it works is you buy an author’s book and they buy yours, usually at the same price, say $0.99 and after 3-4 days you both leave an honest review on the book you purchased. This is the fastest way to get reviews and it’s also my favorite. It can be time consuming and later down the road you can hire a VA (virtual assistant) to do it for you.

Sidenote: Amazon is very strict when it comes to leaving product reviews so make sure that you leave an honest review and that you wait 3-4 days to post the review once you bought the book to make it look real.

To find Facebook groups simply type in Facebook “kindle books review exchange” and you’ll find a lot of groups you can join.

2. Contact top reviewers on Amazon

Another method is to contact top reviewers and ask them to review your book if you gift them a copy. You can find a list of the top reviewers here: https://www.amazon.com/review/top-reviewers. Most of them have their Email address listed on their Amazon’s profile, so you can contact them. I recommend you contact reviewers that left reviews for similar books to the one you’re selling and that they left a positive review. If their average review for a product is 3 stars, then you probably want to skip them.

3. Tell your Email list about your book

By far, messaging your Email list is the best way to get reviews fast. The problem with it is that most writers don’t have a solid Email list. But if you do have an Email list, simply tell them about the book. I like to post a chapter from my book on my blog and then tell my Email list about it. At the bottom of the blog post I’ll have a link to my book. That way I’m giving value and I’m not too pushy at the same time. You’ll need to follow up a week later and ask for a review if they haven’t already reviewed your book. Make sure you tell them why it’s so important to you.

Chapter 11

Build a High-Traffic Blog Without Killing Yourself

Borrowing traffic is a lot faster than creating it” – Tim Ferriss

This topic could easily have its own book, and yet I’m going to make it short and to the point. Tim Ferriss has a 50-minute presentation about how he created a high traffic blog. I’ve made a summary of his presentation, and what I found to be very useful.

Borrow traffic from other blogs and websites – Do video interviews, guest blog posts, podcast interviews, etc. Anything you can to send people who don’t know you to your blog or book. This is the fastest way to grow. Make sure that the content that you’re providing is helpful and high quality. Your guest blog post will be the first thing that the reader will read from you. Make sure it’s good or you won’t get another chance.

p<>{color:#000;}. “Don’t write about what your readers tell you to write about. Write about what you’re passionate about.” – Mark Cuban (Billionaire, blogmaverick.com, owner of Dallas Mavs). Tim says he always gets better results when he writes about what he wants to.

p<>{color:#000;}. “Important thing is not being a good writer, but having a voice.” – Communicate your personality to the written word. Tim says his writing has gone through a few phases before finally settling into his real personality. Let your audience get to know who you are. I still struggle with this myself.

p<>{color:#000;}. Use StumbleUpon.com/submit to upload blog posts and get traffic for free. Takes 2 minutes and very straightforward.

p<>{color:#000;}. Post only amazing content, don’t post just to post – If you don’t have anything to write, then don’t write. Your readers want to know that if they visit your blog they’ll only get the best content out there. This is controversial, should you focus on quality or quantity. Tim Ferriss focuses on quality and does it remarkably well.

Growing up

I grew up in Israel until I turned 20. I was starting my first business there making Android apps living at my parents’ house. I still remember Googling “How to make android apps” and the first moment I made money online. It was life changing. But truth be told, I was struggling with depression at the time and felt very lonely.

Moving Abroad

I ended going to South-East Asia on a 4-month holiday the week I turned 20. I completely fell in love with Thailand. Finally, I had found a cheap place to live in with happy people and I felt at home.

I went back to Israel for 2 months and came back to Thailand, this time to live there.

Affiliate Marketing – My 2nd business

After moving to Bangkok I started my second online business, which was affiliate marketing, and I proceeded to lose $3,000 in 3 months. Bummer. Luckily, I stuck with it and ended up making more than 20x my initial loss in 7 months.

But the truth was I was promoting products I wasn’t proud of and I used misleading forms of advertisements to drive conversions. I had also overworked myself and got burned out.

You see, the problem was I was doing well financially but I was emotionally bankrupt.

Taking 8 months off work and exploring myself and a new country

I then stopped working, and moved to Taipei, Taiwan for 3 months and had become conversationally fluent in Chinese. It was a beautiful period of self-exploration, and allowed me to once again be a kid and learn about the world. Learning Chinese was a great challenge and I was really happy with pushing myself.

Failed Startup

After that I moved back to Bangkok, Thailand and started a startup called Advicey. Advicey was an online marketplace for hiring online consulting sessions from experts in every niche. For example, if you wanted to lose weight you’d go on the site and hire a fitness coach to coach you for $40/hour via skype.

Looking back I realize that I was pursuing the startup for the wrong reasons – Money and greed. I wanted to be like Elon Musk, but I didn’t have the self-awareness at the time to realize that I’m not the CEO Entrepreneur kind of guy. I wanted to help the world in a massive way and be famous, but that’s not my path.

I still want to help the world in a massive way and be famous, but in a different way.

I’m not sure how I but I love speaking and being in front of the camera, and I enjoy writing as well. So I’m thinking right now writing books, sharing what I learned, and making YouTube videos about self-help. But hey, I’m just a 22-year old, so who knows right? ;)

I decided to start writing self-help books sharing what I learned and teaching people about how to make money online and become a better version of themselves. I also started making YouTube videos along with it and I share my journey and document it so that you can get an idea what it’s like to be an entrepreneur and make money online.

Right now my current vision is to write high-quality books and make YouTube videos that’ll help millions of people. Along the way, I want to do some public speaking and inspire other people, especially high school and university graduates that are clueless about what they want to do in life.
