When we think about the Cross it is easy to see it just as a symbol of Easter and the death and resurrection of Jesus but this is not the case at all because the Cross represents a life-changing and faith-changing challenge that stays with us throughout our lives. The Cross is for life not just for Easter and if we are truly sold out to God and committed to turning our backs to the ways of the world to follow the ways of Heaven then the sacrificial Cross should be at the very centre of our lives and our faiths each and every day of our lives. But what does that mean? What is the cost of the Cross to us? The cost of the Cross to us is our sacrificial obedience to God's Will for our lives and His commands in the bible. Do we choose to lay down our lives in complete submission and surrender to Him and live to be obedient to Him, His Word and His will whatever the cost to us personally? Or are we Pick n' Mix Christians who choose do our own will rather God’s Will and are we people who obey the biblical commands that we like but conveniently ignore the ones that we don't like? Do we live selfless God-centred lives that are built on the rock of Heavenly values or do we live selfish lives that are built on the false gods and shifting sands of worldly values? This short book attempts to explain what the cost of the Cross is to a Child of God drawing on my own experience of what the cost of the Cross has meant to me during my spiritual journey, the challenges that God has made me and the personal price that I have paid to be obedient to Him and His Will for my life. I hope that The Cost of the Cross encourages you in your spiritual journey and draws you deeper into God’s spiritual waters and His strong but gentle arms. In the words of the song “Oceans (Where feet may fail) - Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, Let me walk upon the waters, Wherever You would call me.
