What mountains are you facing today? You may be facing the mountain of cancer. The mountain of a lawsuit. The mountain of bankruptcy. The mountain of an unsaved spouse. The mountain of bad news. I can guarantee that there is someone reading this book that is faced with a mountain.

From this time forth I want you to cast that burden to God. I Peter 5:7 says:

“Cast all your care upon him, for he cares for you”.

You might be thinking Brother Wayne you have no idea what I am going through right now.You do not know what I am facing. No, I don’t know what you are going through, but what I do know is this. The Word of God is the truth. The word of God works and the Word of God must be made final authority in any circumstance.

I want you to grasp this fact as this is vitally important for any breakthrough. The fact is you may have the mountain called “limited funds”. You may have the fact of a mountain called “strained relationships”. Yes this is fact and no one can deny that, but what is the truth?

The word of God is the truth! What does the word of God say about the mountain you are facing? What scriptures are you declaring and standing on while you are facing this mountain?

When you are in a battle it is not the time to be a lazy spiritual malnourished Christian. You must declare the word of God. You must keep your eyes on the word. You must hear the word. You must keep standing on the word until you see the victory hallelujah.

When faced with a mountain is not the only time we should be reading, declaring and standing on scriptures. We as believers should be constantly in the word of God. The word of God is life. Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 this:

“But He answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”.

I love the word of God. When I was newly saved at the age of sixteen I often heard preachers say “you must read your word”. I though yeah, yeah preacher boy I ain’t going to read the word as I found it boring.

God forgive me for such rebellious thinking. My attitude over the years has obviously changed to where I am telling you, “You must read your word, amen”.

The word of God is life; the word of God will change any situation for you.

Did you know according to Isaiah 55:11 the word of God never returns void, but always prospers in the thing where it is sent.

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it”. (Isaiah 55:11)

We need to pause here a moment and break down this scripture. By doing so it reveals three important keys:

Key 1. God’s word does not come back void. It works where ever it is sent.

Key 2. God shall accomplish what he pleases,

Key 3. And the word shall prosper where ever it goes.

This scripture shows us that the Word of God of works. You may have struggled in your mind and doubted God’s Word, thinking “will God really come through for me?” “Does God’s word really work?” “Is the Bible truth after all a man wrote it?”

I am not here to judge or scorn you but to tell you this is incorrect thinking. The first thing you must establish in your heart is that the word of God was not written by man but by the Holy Spirit. Yes, it was recorded by man but no created by man. Let’s look what 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says about this:

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work”.

2 Peter 1:21 says

“for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God[a] spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit”.

If you have ever doubted God’s word, you are not the first to do so. Satan has tried this trick with the believers since the first humans. We see in Genesis 3:1-4 the serpent (Satan) made Eve reason with the Word of God after God gave Adam and Eve clear instructions do not touch the tree of Knowledge.

The serpent reasoned with Eve saying “Has God indeed said you shall not eat of every tree of the garden? “(Genesis 3:1) Eve replied that God did say. If we eat of the tree we will die. (Paraphrased Gen 3:3)

I want you to see the serpent’s cunningness here in vs 4, the serpent said: “You will not surely die”.

The serpent at this point lied to Eve. He got her to reason with what God said. The serpent caused Eve to reasons with God’s word. Eve then swallowed the lie and then disobeyed God and ate fruit from the tree. The enemy is a liar and has had a long time to perfect this doctrine of lies. John 8:44 actually describes Him as the father of lies.

The enemy will do anything in His limited power to deceive you by getting you to reason with God’s word, do you see this? Have you ever questioned God’s word, by asking “Will Gods word work for me? “Will God come through for us?”

The enemy is screaming God will not come through as God has abandoned you” This is all biblical contradiction all based on the dogma of lies.

You must have the revelation that the word of God is correct with no errors. Once you have this established in your thinking then the word will be anchored to your soul.

The question I pose to you is, “Do you trust God with what you are facing?”

Jeremiah 17:7 says this “blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and whose hope is in the lord”. Do you see this? The Word says if you trust God you will be blessed. I will take this a step further and say if you do not trust God, you will not be blessed.

You might be thinking sure Wayne, God wants to bless you and give you a new car or prosperity because you’re a preacher, but not me I am a no one! Don’t you ever think that? That thinking is fear based and who is the author of fear? Satan.

Satan uses fear as a tool to paralyze and restrict a Christian from having a blessed life. He has had a long time to practice his doctrine of fear.

Friend God loves you; He sent his best for you. God sent his only son Jesus Christ to save, heal and to deliver you. Jesus said in John 10:10 that he was sent to give you an abundant life.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly”. John 10:10

Jesus did not say He came to give you a defeated life. Are you hearing me?

Contrary to some popular doctrines that accuse Jesus of placing sickness and disease on His people to teach them a lesson, I rebuke such nonsense! Nowhere in the Bible does it say that God wants you sick, poor or destitute.

Do you know according to Matthew 10:30 and Luke 12:7 God knows all the numbers of hair on your head? God is involved in every intricate bit of your life. Are you aware that God thinks of you more than all the grains of sand on the earth?

How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with you.

(Psalm 139:17-18)

When I was dating my wife, I thought about her as I was falling in love with her. I guarantee you that I did not think of her as much as all the grains of sand on the earth. Not like God, according to his word, God thinks of you twenty-four hours a day. You are precious to him saint. You mean something to him.

God cares about you; He cares about what you are going through. The thing I want you to remember is that what you are going through is no shock to God.

God did not wake up one morning and look down out of his window from heaven and says hey Jesus, Wayne needs a new car or would you look at that, Susie has cancer, or wow Margaret needs a new job. Man, I didn’t see that coming did you?

This statement sounds silly and almost laughable but I believe some well-meaning believers view God in this manner. They think God is not watching them through a challenging time. The problem is they have swallowed the lie from the pit of hell that God has left them.

I am here to tell you that God does not leave His people.

Romans 8:38-39 says that nothing can separate God’s love from us.

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

Do not get sucked into the abandonment gospel, thinking that God the father runs away when things get hard. God is not like some earthly fathers who abandon their families when times get tough. Do not you ever contemplate that God has left you child of God? You may not feel his presence but this does not mean he has abandoned you.

God sees the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10); he knows how to get you out of the mess you may be in. He has always got a way to get you out of the mountain you are facing.

How can I be so sure of what I preach? Do you think I have had no mountains to overcome? We’ve all had mountains. It is what we do when we are faced with a mountain that determines the outcome.

One particular mountain I was facing was called bankruptcy. Through this challenging time, I never allowed doubt to override me. I took the word of God as the final authority and stood on the name of Jesus. Friend God came through for us. I can never remember a time that God did not come through.

I love this scripture which shows that God never forsakes His people,

I have been young, and now am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. (Psalm 37:25)

I want you to remember if God can help me out of a huge mess, He can most certainly help you.

According to Acts 10:34 and Romans 2:11, God shows no favoritism or partiality. You may have grown up in a family where your sibling was the favorite. This does not happen in God’s family. You and every other believer are his favorites. If God can help me in a time of crisis, rest assured He will also help you.

Friend I ask you honestly, what do you do when you are faced with a challenge? Do you cry? Do you break to pieces? Do you run from God? Do you stand on the word of God? Do you make God’s word final authority on the subject?

I will not judge you if you do cry that’s ok, we have emotions as humans but there is a better way. The higher way is by trusting God.

You must trust the word, you will either believe the word or not, it is that simple. There is no middle ground it is as black or white.

You will either believe God to do what he says in His word, or you will lack faith and disbelieve the word. The decision is totally yours. I do hope you believe the word as you will win every time. Anytime we put our faith in God expect a victory amen!

When you are unmoved by standing on the word of God the enemy has not got a chance to defeat you. He can not do a thing to you. He may come around as a puffed up rooster crowing how bad things are and causing noise, but all He is a skinny chicken with big feathers.

Do not let him intimidate you. I heard it preached many years ago, Oh don’t rebuke Satan as he is all powerful. Really! My bible says that Jesus already defeated the clown. My bible tells me in Luke 10:19 that we as believers have been given the authority to tread on scorpions, serpents and over all the power of the enemy.

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you”.

(Luke 10:19)

I believe that a majority of Christians do not know they have been given authority to defeat the ills of evil. They are either ignorant of the fact or have never been taught correctly. Why is the pulpit short of teaching the believers to have authority over Satan and His forces of hell?

I think more times than often, born again believers have more faith in what harm Satan can do to them, than faith in God’s ability to help them out of their situation.

If the enemy is attacking you, declare the word of God at him. Jesus did and he is our pattern to follow.

I am certain you are familiar with the story of Jesus being in the wilderness in Matthew 4:1-11. This passage of scripture shows us that the devil said three things to Jesus. They were for Jesus to turn the stones into bread. Bow down to Satan and Satan would give Jesus all the Kingdoms of the world. The last suggestion was for Jesus to throw Himself off the pinnacle of the temple.

Did you notice how Jesus always combated Satan’s words? It was by using the word of God? Please notice the pattern the Bible teaches us. Jesus said “for it is written”…and then the scripture.

You may be faced with a financial dilemma today. It is vital you declare prosperity scriptures against the lack. For example:

For it is written is Philippians 4:19 “my God shall supply all my needs”. For it is written in Psalm 1:3 “whatever I do I prosper.

You must declare the word.

I have known many people going through situations and I ask them “what scriptures are you standing on for breakthrough”? They say none! This shows limited knowledge on how to use the word.

Please listen. Whatever you are facing today, God has got your back. You need to trust Him. Get on your knees (if you can safely) and send knee mail.

What mountain are you faced with? Have you been declaring the word of God at it? You must declare the word there is no way around this. How do you know what scriptures to use if you do not take time in the word? How do you know how to fight an unseen enemy that wants to steal, kill and destroy you? (John 10:10)

Satan hates the believer. He hates you, he wants to crush you and he wants to destroy you. Ultimately his plan is to kill you.

What right does the enemy have to touch a son or daughter of the most high God? That’s you and me. When we became born again we were adopted into the richest, most prestigious, most wonderful, glorious family in the universe. You who are born again are God’s children. (Ephesians 1:5)

Do you think for one second God would allow His child to become injured? It is by our wrong decisions and actions that sometimes place us outside of God’s covering. I am not saying the mountain you are facing is your fault, it may not be.

Hey, I have been there. I have made some silly mistakes. Some of you may have heard the story I am about to share but give me grace I want to share it again.

It is a story of how God put his foot on Satan’s throat and made that chicken squeal for mercy amen.

2009 my wife and I entered into a business deal. We purchased a franchise-based business. It was not the smartest decision. We went into business with none Christians. I did not know what the word said about being unequally yoked. I did not know what 2 Corinthians 6:14 said about it.

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?”

We as born again believers have no right being unequally yoked in business or dating. Now hear me out so I am not misquoted. I did not say for a born again person who has been saved and their partner has not yet been saved, to leave them.

No! You pray for them, you may be the only Jesus they get to see. You need to live your life before them to shine Christ unto them, that your father in heaven may be glorified. (Mat 5:16) You must believe God for their salvation, pray they hunger and thirst for righteousness.

I personally found if you pray for someone to hunger and thirst for righteousness it works. I know my wife prayed that prayer for me and I also prayed it for her, we know it works.

This is not a dating 101 message, however, if you want trouble as a born again believer date and marry a non-Christian.

As mentioned we went into business with a non-Christian business partner and then we began to suffer financially. It got to a point where the business had to be sold to pay off the excessive debt. Due to having excessive debt and limited income we were faced with declaring bankruptcy. There appeared no way out, it was a big mountain to us.

The bank said the business had to be sold to repay the debt. Friend God did an absolute miracle for us; he brought the right buyers along at the right time for that business. You must remember Gods timing may be different to yours and my timing.

We had to wait a year for the financial breakthrough, but during this time it grew us up in the word. It got us off the milk onto the meat of the word. God did not cause this mess but he always turns things around for good for those who love Him

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

(Romans 8:28)

As said the business had to be sold to pay off the debt, God breathed on our business to make the business attractive for a buyer. We witnessed a huge increase in sales being thousands and thousands of dollars a week extra.

After selling the business the new owner accused us of dodging the books, (dodging = making false entries into the sales records). This person at the time was an atheist and such an accusation did not stand for one second. All our sales were recorded from our head office. This was just another attempt from Satan to kill our reputation and destroy us financially.

When we left the business, so did the blessing of God. The new owner’s sales went flat and they had to sell the business. I felt sorry for the owners; my wife tried to talk to them about God but she was turned down flat.

The thing about this, God could also produce miracles for these people, but He could not help them as they wanted nothing to do with Him. I pray for these people, I love these people, and I pray they prosper in all they do.

The story is not over, as the business was sold, the other business partner found themselves in a mess. Of course, we assisted them as much as we could but what I am saying is that God protected us through it all.

Let me remind you that the word of God is filled with scriptures for protection it is up to you to declare them. The word is a book of declarations that we as the believers have the authority and right to declare Gods word to see God move and expect His results.

Do you know what the word says about protection?

Do you know that Deuteronomy 33:27 says the eternal God is your refuge?

Do you know Psalm 5:12 says for the Lord will bless the righteous with favor as a shield?

Do you know that Isaiah 59:19b states: “When the enemy comes in like a flood the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him”?

You must know how to use your sword being your Bible. Imagine swordsmen going into battle and never been trained in using their sword. They kept their sword on a shelf, collecting dust and admiring it.

Unfortunately, many Christians are the same. They look at the bible on their bookshelf and think yes what a nice book but never read it. These folk are usually the first ones to complain to the pastor when they come under attack. You can not afford to be a lazy Christian when the enemy is out to kill you.

Read the word. Do everything you can to submerse yourself in the word. It is the word that will save you amen.

You may be thinking. Your story sounds great Wayne. God delivered you out of bankruptcy, but what do I do to combat the mountain that I am facing? That is a great question.

The very first thing is not to worry. Matthew 6:25-34 refers to worrying. Are you a worrier? Worrying shows that you have more faith in the circumstance to hurt you than having faith in God’s word to deliver you.

I remember a guy talking me and said I am just so worried brother Wayne about such and such. I knew this guy rather well and I knew His pattern of speech, which was consistently negative. I said to him in love that he did not know his bible and he was full of fear.

He was rather taken back by my honesty. He did not like what I had to say to him so he didn’t speak to me after that. I loved him enough to tell him the truth.

I love you folks enough to tell you the truth stop being a worry wart. Stop it. Instead, have faith in Gods ability to come through for you.

Hebrews 11:6 says without faith we can’t please God. If we reverse that scripture it would say “With faith, we please God”.

Do I have readers who are full of faith or a bunch of worries? Do we have faith when we are faced with a situation or do we run for the covers when the chicken (the enemy) ruffles his feathers?

You must understand something. The attack you are under is a spiritual attack, not an earthly attack. Ephesians 6:12 says:

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places”.

According to the word our fight is a spiritual fight, our mountains are spiritual, do you see this? When someone is ugly in your face, look at the spirit behind it and love the person regardless. When all hell has broken loose against you it should not be fought in the physical realm but the spiritual.

Knowing the fight is now a spiritual fight, you need to place armor on for battle as mentioned in Ephesians 6:13-18.

Firstly Ephesians 6:13 says we need to place the armor of God on to stand against evil.

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”.

And Ephesians 6:14-18 says:

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:13-18)

As we see Ephesians 6:13-18 outlines what we need to stand against the enemy but what does it all mean. Do we need to daily confess “I put on the armor of God”?. When I got saved I thought I had to do this every morning before I left my house. I was so scared if I missed a morning of declaring the armor of God, I was I trouble.

To my knowledge Ephesians 6:13-18 says nowhere to declare the armor, but place it on. This means the armor is a part of our daily walk In Christ, by speaking the truth, by walking in peace with others, by having faith, having salvation, by daily reading the word of God (our sword) and by speaking in tongues, being a spiritual weapon.

Please pay particular attention to this Chapter. What I am about to teach you, is vitally important. It may take some of you some time to meditate on the word to get the revelation. I do believe most of you will catch the revelation immediately.

At this point please get your Bible and a pen or a highlighter. Please open to Mark 11:23. This passage of scripture is the scripture my wife and I stood on when the bank was trying to take everything we owned. We are going to spend considerable time here dissecting this wonderful scripture, Amen.

As you begin to read Mark 11:23, I want you to underline the word “says”. My Bible being the New King James Version the word “says’” three times. For the word says being so occurring must mean that this word is rather important.

Now I want you to reread Mark 11:23 and underline the words “doubt, heart and believes”.

This is the process of combating a mountain.

1. You must say something to it. You must declare the word of God at the mountain.

2. You must not doubt in your heart.

3. You must believe what you say.

4. You will have whatever you say.

Did you see the process? Jesus taught this process to His disciples the day after He rebuked the fig tree. To follow this story I strongly encourage you to take some time and read Mark 11:11-24.

This story is about many facets, but I am pointing out that this story as an example how Jesus taught his disciples to remove mountains when faith is involved.

In this last chapter, we look at something that I call the “spirit of sleep”. This is something we must have when the fiery arrows of the evil one attack us and try to rattle us, through the night hours.

When faced with any trial we must trust God amen! We must get sleep. We must not be seen pacing up and down the hallway trying to figure how we are going to get through this problem.

If you are having a hard time sleeping, firstly read the word before you go to sleep. It is the washing of the word that renews our mind. My next suggestion is to play the word on an electronic device. Many a night my wife and I will listen to dad Haggin preaching.

Listening to the word gives sleep. Trusting the word gives sleep. If you are not sleeping through this trial, it is a fair enough assumption that the problem is consuming your mind.

I want to share something with you so simple but so profound in respects to getting a sound sleep when facing a trial.

The simple steps are:

1. Read or listen to the word before you go to sleep. My wife and I regularly listen to Brother Kenneth Copeland or Brother Kenneth Haggin Snr. I place my wife between us and listen to the word of God being preached.

2. Another suggestion is to give your worry unto God.

“casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you”. (1 Peter 5:7)

Give that concern unto God.

3. Ask the lord for a spirit of sleep. If my young boys can grasp this I am certain you adults can also. I have asked the Lord for a spirit of sleep many times. There have been a few occasions I have asked for the spirit of sleep and sometimes I can not remember anything after the word….sleep. I am out cold.

By getting a great sleep in the midst of turmoil is showing the enemy “that He can try anything He wants but you trust God and will sleep soundly”.

Through this book, we have looked at ways to combat the mountains that want to crush you. We have established that Mark 11:23-24 shows us the pattern to speak to any mountain in our life.

The process once again is by Speaking, not doubting in your heart, believe what you say, and you will have it. (This is according to the Holy Scriptures not me amen!)

We have looked at how the enemy will use reasoning to get you to doubt God’s word like He did to Eve right back in the Garden of Eden. His tactics have not changed. We then looked in the last chapter in respects to have a sound sleep.

I pray you have gained a deeper revelation of God’s love for you within the chapters. I too pray you have caught the revelation on how to stand on the word and not be swayed when trials and tribulations come.

I always want you to remember that nothing you are faced with is a shock to God, as it did not catch Him by surprise.

I always pray that you always remember that God loves you and He will never leave you. Amen.

If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life, I would like to give you this opportunity. Friend when we die we will live forever as a spirit being. The decision where you will spend eternity is up to you. Romans 10:9 says” if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”.

To make Jesus Christ your Lord and savior please say this prayer in faith:

“Lord Jesus come into my life, please forgive me of all my sins, I acknowledge you are the Christ the son of God and I need to be saved, I believe you died on the cross for my sins and I am now yours. Please wash me clean in your precious blood. Take my life and do something with it. I ask all these things in your name Jesus Amen”.
