A Biblical Perspective On Religion

At the time of the Exodus the people living in the land that God had promised to Abraham and his descendents were of an evil nature. They were an abomination in the eyes of God. They were murderers, fornicators, adulterers, incestuous, children killers, ravagers, thieves, warriors, oppressors, persecutors, generally evil and continuous entertainers of evil much like the people of Noah’s time I’m sure. The people of Sodom and Gomorrah were examples. There is nothing new under the sun. And how did they justify all these actions and all this evil behaviour? They were idol worshippers, they had false gods, they observed false religions.

False religion, which is evil in the eyes of God, falls primarily into two groups in these last days namely Islam and its branches and the Roman Catholic Church and its offshoots. They both have adherents that number over a billion. They have similarities in their past of wars, oppression, persecution and many other atrocities. They both basically teach and practise lies and deceptions. They are evil. One is blatant the other more subtle today. Check out what they say and do and see for yourselves if it lines up with the Bible.

Today Islam blatantly continues to practise and support those who practise such atrocities with ambition to take over the world. They are aggressively pursuing this goal on many fronts in many ways including wars, terrorism, intimidation, politics, psychology, lies and deceptions. This will undoubtedly facilitate the arrival of a third world war.

The Roman Catholic Church looks very tame at the moment by comparison but it is a beast lurking in the shadows. Its true colours, its true nature, will surface once again in the near future. It will facilitate the establishment of the Biblically prophesied man of perdition, the Beast of Revelation known also as 666, a soon coming head of a European union made up of ten nations, who will rule over much of the earth and will deceive great multitudes.

Together Islam and the Roman Church are deceiving billions of people; every one of their members, supporters and sympathizers, for examples those who support Obama and those who celebrate Christmas. These deceived people will not attain salvation in the first resurrection at the return of Jesus Christ. In order to attain salvation you must deny yourself, repent, confess Jesus as Lord of all, pick up your cross and follow Jesus in obedience and righteousness, in deed and in spirit. The old self and its evil ways must die and the new self of the spirit of God must take up residence within you and govern. So for many salvation may only come at the great white throne judgement a thousand years after Christ’s second coming. Others will be condemned.

So how can we let God govern in our lives? Let us examine God’s will, true religion. Jesus, God’s spokesman, instructed Israel of old when they came into the promised land. And here is what he said a few years later.

Judges 2:2–3 (NKJV)

And you shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.’ But you have not obeyed My voice. Why have you done this? Therefore I also said, ‘I will not drive them out before you; but they shall be thorns in your side, and their gods shall be a snare to you.’

Our western leaders, notably the USA, Germany and Sweden, are making covenants with Islam left right and center. By so doing they lose the protection of God, they suffer the evil these relations bring and very possibly lose their salvation.

Deuteronomy 18:9 (NKJV)

When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations.

This was what God instructed them to do from the beginning thousands of years ago. And now that we are in the land that God has given us we should not learn to follow the abominations or false religions of those nations of old which are infesting our nations as you read.

Deuteronomy 12:2–4 (NKJV)

You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their names from that place. You shall not worship the LORD your God with such things.

The will of God is still active and alive today. He has not changed His mind. We are still to obey His commands and not allow such practices to take place in our land. Our governments are increasingly acting against God and therefore against our better interests.

Deuteronomy 9:4–6 (NKJV)

Do not think in your heart, after the LORD your God has cast them out before you, saying, ‘Because of my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land’; but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is driving them out from before you. It is not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart that you go in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD your God drives them out from before you, and that He may fulfill the word which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Therefore understand that the LORD your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people.

So if you turn to doing wickedness and to allow wickedness to be practiced in your land then expect the wrath of God to be stirred against you. You will be treated as the enemy of God according to your deeds.

Deuteronomy 9:7–8 (NKJV)

Remember! Do not forget how you provoked the LORD your God to wrath in the wilderness. From the day that you departed from the land of Egypt until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against the LORD. Also in Horeb you provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry enough with you to have destroyed you.

Because God has blessed us with much land, and wealth do not think that He will not take it away if we neglect our responsibilities like justice and respect and obedience to God. When we disobey we provoke God to wrath. When we break His covenant made with our forefathers we stir God to wrath.

Many take refuge in Jesus. But they make Him out to be figments of their imaginations. They do not take heed to what He taught, what He said and what He did. Listen very carefully to the following words that Jesus spoke.

Matthew 10:34 (NKJV)

Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.

And Paul said in

Philippians 3:13 (NKJV)

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

And he explained the words of Jesus in

Ephesians 6:17 (NKJV)

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

This concept is further explored in

Hebrews 4:12–13 (NKJV)

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight (that is God’s sight), but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Jesus also states His intended meaning in

Revelation 2:16 (NKJV)

Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

In other words his words were formed by His tongue and were like a two-edged sword. John also understood the power of the word of God and of Jesus.

John 17:17 (NKJV)

Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

Revelation 1:16 (NKJV) states,

out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword,

Let take a condensed look at what it means to be Christian, to following the one and only true religion.

2 Corinthians 6:3–10 (NKJV)

We give no offense in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed. But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses, in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings; by purity, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by sincere love, by the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Ephesians 1:13 (NKJV)

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, (which is) the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

The word of truth, is the gospel of your salvation.

Colossians 1:5–6 (NKJV)

because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

2 Timothy 2:15–16 (NKJV)

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.

Finally John points out that good deeds and truth of the scriptures are more important than stating that you love in your own words of mouth.

1 John 3:18 (NKJV)

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

If you know Jesus you know that He was the God of the old testament, the Father’s spokesman, the Word of God and co-creator with the Father. To understand Jesus and what He is doing and what He expects from us remember this as revealed in

Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The problem is in getting people to believe and obey Him.

Do you know the gospel? Do you know the word of God, God’s voice? Do you know truth when you hear it? Do you know true religion when you see it?

Action Plan By Steps

From my limited insight into the understanding of Bible readers it seems that there are some, if not many, who think that the apostle Paul preached a different message than Jesus. This is in fact a fallacy. Paul preached what Jesus preached and what Peter preached, that Jesus is central to the plan of salvation of God and that the whole plan revolves around and involves Him. All the apostles were in agreement with Jesus and each other although every single issue had not completely been resolved.

Philippians 2:1–11 (NKJV)

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

2 Corinthians 2:12 (NKJV)

Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened to me by the Lord,

Romans 15:19 (NKJV)

in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

Matthew 24:14 (NKJV)

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Matthew 28:16–20 (NIV84)

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

A couple of areas contained conflicts. Paul had to straighten Peter out on the subject of circumcision, circumcision was first and foremost of the heart and was not necessary in the flesh any longer as a new covenant had been established and the Levitical priesthood along with some of its rituals had been superseded by Jesus (see Hebrews) and His transforming powers. Circumcision represents the removal of the unnecessary sinful nature of man. It was and is a spiritual issue and not so much a physical issue.

Colossians 2:11 (NIV84)

In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ,

Romans 2:25–29 (NIV84)

Circumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, you have become as though you had not been circumcised. If those who are not circumcised keep the law’s requirements, will they not be regarded as though they were circumcised? The one who is not circumcised physically and yet obeys the law will condemn you who, even though you have the written code and circumcision, are a lawbreaker. A man is not a Jew if he is only one outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise is not from men, but from God.

John 6:44 (NKJV)

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)

being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

Philippians 3:20–21 (NKJV)

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

On another point, Jesus stated that divorce was not to be allowed except when adultery was present in the marriage. Paul however allowed divorce in some other circumstances primarily due to the hardness of the hearts of some married people. Aside from these two examples little else of much significance comes to mind as being conflicting in theology or doctrine.

Matthew 5:32 (NKJV)

But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

1 Corinthians 7:10–11 (NKJV)

Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife.

1 Corinthians 7:15 (NKJV)

But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace.

However Jesus and Paul fulfilled somewhat different roles in the plan of God. Jesus spoke in parables to the masses so that most would not understand, but He revealed their meanings to His apostles privately. Jesus’ life and death had to be fulfilled exactly according to the timing and the will of God. He had to die in the manor and at the time that had been planned and prophesied. Paul, after the death of Christ, explained the messages of Christ, the significance of Christ and the plan of God in much detail, recorded much of it in letters which came to form a large part of the New Testament. (see epistles of Paul) This New Testament, added to the Original Testament, has since been spread throughout the world far more than any other book in history. Estimates claim that there are more than 5 billion copies of the Bible in print and global literacy is approaching 6 billion.

Romans 16:25 (NKJV)

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began

Mark 4:34 (NKJV)

But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.

Matthew 13:10–16 (NKJV)

And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;

Matthew 13:34–35 (NKJV)

All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.”

John 8:20 (NKJV)

These words Jesus spoke in the treasury, as He taught in the temple; and no one laid hands on Him, for His hour had not yet come.

What was kept secret up to the time of Christ, revealed by Christ, further explained by Paul is now common knowledge to anyone who opens his heart to God and reads and studies His holy book, the Bible, and applies its teachings.

Revelation 22:10 (GNB)

And he said to me, “Do not keep the prophetic words of this book a secret, because the time is near when all this will happen.

Christianity, the acceptance of the sovereignty of Jesus, is not just a religion of traditions, rituals and favourite ideologies, it is a work in progress, a way of life, an individual ongoing salvation, conversion and transformation of individuals convicted in spirit, committed to surrendering to the power and truth of Jesus Christ to finish the work of perfecting onto eternal life all those who the Father has given Him. Christianity is striving to do the will of God, to believe Him, His Son and His word, the Bible, which is to obey them whole heartedly and wholly without giving up through times of weakness but asking forgiveness for transgressions and maintaining the course of humility and voluntary, loving submission.

Matthew 12:6–8 (NKJV)

Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple. But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.

Acts 10:35–43 (NKJV)

But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.

The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all— that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they killed by hanging on a tree. Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”

1 Timothy 6:11–16 (NKJV)

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

Revelation 19:11–16 (NKJV)

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

The vast majority of the world is being deceived by the many deceptions of Satan the devil. Here are some of those deceptions that the world is swallowing with abandon; Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, Islamism, Christmas, Easter, government effectiveness, macro evolution, philosophies, self-righteousness, and countless other unfounded beliefs.

2 Corinthians 4:4 (NKJV)

whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Revelation 12:9 (NKJV)

So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Galatians 1:9 (NKJV)

As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Colossians 2:8 (NASB)

See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

People love to wallow in ignorance and false security. They are being lost because of lack of knowledge of the truth of God. Fault lies on the perpetuators of the above mentioned deceptions considerably. Also, they lack interest in learning the truth. They refuse to confront and challenge Satan. They seem to love their ignorance, attitudes and selves. In other words Satan uses peoples vanity of trusting in their own intelligence, understanding and skills.

Proverbs 3:5 (NASB)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding.

Daniel 8:25 (The Living Bible)

He will be a master of deception, defeating many by catching them off guard as they bask in false security. Without warning he will destroy them. So great will he fancy himself to be that he will even take on the Prince of Princes in battle; but in so doing he will seal his own doom, for he shall be broken by the hand of God, though no human means could overpower him.

Hosea 4:6 (The Living Bible)

My people are destroyed because they don’t know me, and it is all your fault, you priests, for you yourselves refuse to know me; therefore, I refuse to recognize you as my priests. Since you have forgotten my laws, I will forget to bless your children.

Here are some basic steps for you to become part of the Plan of God:

1) Become aware of the plan, search, research, ask, seek, knock, pray.

(try the Bible, UCG, true ministers of God and God himself )

2) Study the plan.

3) Apply the plan.

4) Help others become part of the plan.

Balanced Religion

We all inherited sin from Adam and Eve because through their sin death entered the world and we are subject to death as the wages of sin is death and we are all sinners as sin is the transgression of God’s law and all fail to wholly obey it.

However, God the Father and Jesus Christ created us to grow Their family, not to fulfill Their law of death to sinners.

Romans 5:12 to 21 (NKJV)

Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned, (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God is very pleased to give us His gift of life, His crown of life.

Luke 12:32 (NKJV)

Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Let no one take away your crown.

Revelation 3:11 (NKJV)

Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

The blind man, blind from birth, was not blind because of his sins nor the sins of his parents, he was blind so that the miracle of God could be performed on him and for him at that time.

John 9:1 to 3 (NKJV)

Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

So are many of our shortcomings and tribulations, our failures and sins once brought to God by humbly admitting, confessing and repenting are forgiven and our crowns are not lost. The penalty of death is not executed.

There is much sin that does not lead to death lest salvation be impossible and the sacrifice of Christ a farce.

1 John 5:17 (NKJV)

All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not leading to death.

Certainly we have our failures to live by every word of God twenty four hours a day seven days a week but sometimes it is just that we do not know what to do.

2 Chronicles 20:12 (GNB)

You are our God! Punish them, for we are helpless in the face of this large army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but we look to you for help.

The ways of the world were often presented in a physical sense in the old testament but we know that they were symbols of what the true enemy is as is explained in the new testament.

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

But we do often find ourselves not knowing what to do and in being overwhelmed with a feeling of having to do something we err at times.

It is easy to say that we must live a life free from sin but only a fool would claim to be able to do it.

Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

Nevertheless our crown of life is not lost. We do not despair, we do not capitulate. We fall but are not crushed. We pick ourselves up and keep going always striving to do better at living the way of God according to His commandments and according to His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ who has redeemed us and holds the gift of life.

2 Corinthians 4:8–15 (NKJV)

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed,

but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed, always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you. And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,

knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

One last scripture describing the end of the matter and a new beginning.

Revelation 21:6–8 (NKJV)

And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Believing Jesus

The Only Begotten Son Of God

Beliefs should start with truth, end with truth and be filled with truth.

Life leads to life for those who will live. God is the source, the giver of life.

Life leads to death for those who will die. Satan wants death for mankind.

Sin is the breaking of God’s law.

Sin leads to death.

God is love and obedience to His law leads to life.

He is deceived who thinks he can continue to sin and attain eternal life.

Jesus was our Creator.

Jesus is our spiritual Father.

Jesus has a Father who is greater than Himself.

Jesus was His Father’s only begotten Son.

Jesus, in His former glory, and His Father created all things together.

Jesus emptied Himself and lived a life as a man without sin in obedience to His Father.

Jesus was the only man ever to have lived a life without sin.

Jesus qualified to be Lord of Lords and King of Kings in the Kingdom of God.

Jesus was the sacrificial Passover Lamb, payment to God for the sins of every mortal soul.

Jesus was resurrected onto eternal life as a spirit being, once again restored to His former glory.

Salvation is only possible through Jesus. His Father has made it so.

We must follow His example, do the commandments of God, live a sinless life.

It is not possible on our own but all things are possible with God.

We must do more than try, we must overcome sin.

If we did not sin we would not be sick.

Jesus has overcome the world, sin, Satan and death and He will put an end to death.

Have the faith of Jesus and the love of God.

Without truth you have nothing, you will perish.

The spirit world ultimately rules over all.

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Romans 5:18–21 (NIV84)

Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Peter 2:19–25 (NKJV)

For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

“Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”;

who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

1 Timothy 6:11–16 (NASB)

But flee from these things, you man of God; and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords; who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen or can see. 1 Corinthians 11:27–30 (NKJV)

Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. Bibles

I was in grade one when I was first introduced to the Bible. Until then I was not aware that such a book existed. It was presented as the word of God. It looked like a rather ordinary book to me though a little thick. It was handed to me open at the ten commandments and I was told to read them. I started at the first and by the time I finished the fourth I was in shock.

I was five going on six or maybe completely six by then. I attended a Catholic school. I attended a Catholic church. Almost everyone I knew at the time was Catholic, all my family and relatives and all my classmates. The church had many idols, some of them immense. It was common to see statues of Mary and Jesus on shelves and desks, religious figures depicted in paintings and portraits hanging from walls and crucifixes hanging from the necks of women and priests among other ornaments. But the Bible said in the second commandment not to make idols and not to bow down before them. This was common practise that I had witnessed many times among Catholics. Alarm bells were clanging.

The fourth commandment stated to remember the Sabbath and to keep it holy and went on to explain that the Sabbath was the seventh day of the week. There was a calendar hanging on the front wall of our classroom near the door. I could read it from my desk. Clearly Sunday was the first day of the week and I counted the days to the last day of the week and sure enough it was seven and that day was Saturday. No Catholics went to church on Saturday as far as I knew. I had never heard of anyone going to church on Saturday to keep it holy. Did anyone in the world go to church on Saturday, I wondered? Why didn’t Catholics go to church on Saturday if the Bible, the word of God told them too? What in the world was going on? Why in the world was this going on?

If that book was the word of God and Catholics were the people of God, as I was led to believe, then one or the other was a big fake, or perhaps both. It seemed obvious that at the least Catholics could not be trusted. Therefore I had no one to confide in. For a long time I had had enough of the Bible too, it was too upsetting. Years went by and the next time I opened that book I was still in grade school and got shocked again. I read about Noah and the flood. It was astounding, not the story I had heard told. Why? Why not? Why was everyone ignoring the Bible? I was still in shock and I was on the brink of not being able to control my anger. My teacher fixed that problem with a little corporal punishment, a bit of torture.

My life was turning out to be a story of a fool going nowhere. It is called backsliding by religious adherents but it was more like natural worldly progression to me. Whatever you call it my life was turning into a nightmare similar to the nightmares I was having in my sleep.
