Walk with God……….

Many are under the impression that Christians can do anything wrong and can go to God and ask God for forgiveness and they would be forgiven. I too, not too long ago questioned as to how that works. It is only after I started my journey with Jesus as my Lord and Savior that I began to experience and understand the transformative power of God’s love and forgiveness.

The Christian walk is unique because it involves God walking with the Christian through his/her journey of life. By the grace of God Himself, I have experienced His very presence in my life, His leading and guiding and His love. I want everyone to experience God – it is then that you realize just how joyful and content one can be in the midst of the prevailing chaos of this world. It’s not about pretending that the chaos does not exist, it’s about remaining firm and victorious in the midst of it and pulling others out of it.

Not every Christian walks with God. Walking with God refers to having a relationship with God and not merely knowing about Him. It is not about the formalities, rituals, feasts and memorized prayers it is a walking talking relationship where God is real and alive in your life.

For me, there is no other person more real than God. He is the joy and love of my life. He fills me in a way than no one else can because He formed me and knows me more than I know myself. He even loves me more than I love myself. However, I didn’t see things this clearly before I understood that God’s feelings and intentions towards me are always good.

God does not demand that I be perfect but He desires that I draw from Him the power and resources for changes that are good.

When I look back, I remember how much I hated myself. I knew what I did, thought and felt and it was not always good. Within me I desperately wanted to be someone who pleased God but when I tried to live it out, I failed miserably – over and over again. Every morning I asked God for forgiveness for my bad behavior the previous day and set out to do better but every night I went to bed angry with myself for failing to do what I set off to do every morning and angry at everyone else because they didn’t create an environment conducive to my plans. Needless to say, I felt like a total failure before God. I began to doubt if in fact I was suitable to be a child of God.

When I looked around, I saw other Christians who were so content and rested in life despite the ups and downs that life presented them with and I realized that there must be more than this to being a child of God.

I was a Christian and I thought I had a good relationship with God. I went to church every week, I prayed, I read the Bible and I tried and I tried and I tried to do the right thing, yet life was a struggle. There was no peace or rest. On occasions, I felt like I was drowning in the face of the waves of trials that came my way. I struggled for years stagnated in every aspect of life, unable to figure out what was wrong. This lead to me doubting God; I wondered if God’s hand was really operating in my life, if He was really powerful, if He really cared for me and most of all if He was real because I couldn’t explain some of the things that happened to me and around me. I was doing everything humanly possible to make things right for myself but nothing was changing and I felt that God was silent. I prayed and I prayed and I prayed and then I struggled and I struggled and I struggled. No change.

Change came only when I began to stop trying. God in His kindness began to teach me that His system is a relationship and a partnership. It’s not me screaming ‘God help me’ and God running to my rescue. It’s Us walking through it together.

Making a conscious decision and allowing Jesus into your heart and accepting Him as your Lord and Savior is the first step to your walk with God. Those who follow this step are called ‘Believers’ and are said to have been ‘Born Again’. Although it is only the first step, most believers expect all their problems to end the minute they become Born Again but find that things don’t really change that fast. They remain the same and their circumstances remain the same and soon enough they wonder if there has been any change at all. I thought the same way but God taught me that the real change that takes place is that once a person becomes Born-Again, they become equipped with the ability to change themselves and their circumstances by walking hand in hand with God – it doesn’t happen automatically. It takes action on the believer’s part – action in terms of total reliance on God.

I’m sure I’ve got you worried now, and you probably think that this booklet was a bad choice – especially if you are like me. Some time ago, weary, broken and given up. Well, don’t put the book away just yet, these actions are so simple and the heavenly back-up you get is so great that it’s a waste not to try them out.

God taught me that He connects with every believer individually. This book is based on this simple fact – you don’t have to be veteran Christian or Pastor or great servant of God. All you have to be is ready and willing to throw yourself into God’s arms and walk through life with Him. It’s a walk to victory holding on to God’s hand. The first step is yours to take and God will surely take the rest with you.

p={color:#000;}. Be Born

When I was a child, I had many hopes and dreams and looked forward to growing up and living life to the fullest. However, as life happened, my hopes and dreams unrealized, I gave in to despair and struggled to remain sane in the midst of the chaos that life threw my way.

Since the age of about 11, I suffered from sleep disorders – but it was not a medical condition because all the various medical tests performed were clear – there was something very unnatural about the circumstances that I experienced. I was afraid of the dark and couldn’t close my eyes. I know that this is not uncommon but in my case, I felt a strange presence which now I know was a demonic presence. Often I’d lie awake in bed until the early hours of the morning and briefly fall asleep before I had to wake up and get ready for school.

Needless to say, I began the day feeling tired and jittery and this didn’t help with my studies and school. On most days, I couldn’t get myself off the bed and so, I missed school a lot.

This continued even after my school years and the chaos poured into my work-life as well. When I started working, I found that I didn’t have the will to persevere and succeed. I was plagued with fear and suffered from a severe inferiority complex. God had blessed me with much skill and ability and I got hired by some of the best organizations in the country and some of the best international organizations but my skills and abilities did not translate into achievements and success. A couple of months into the job, I would panic and resign. I would wake up in the morning and feel too afraid to go to work that day. I would be afraid of failing and making mistakes and I would call the office and inform them that I will not be coming back to work.

My self-confidence and self-esteem were low to say the least and I didn’t have aims or goals in life. I wanted out. Deep within, I always felt inadequate despite the fact that the world didn’t see me that way. My life was falling apart and I feared that restoration would never be possible.

Before too long, I began to think about death. I saw death to be my only escape but was too much of a coward to carry out any form of suicide attempt to fulfillment. I was like the living dead until one day my dad who had by then come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, told me that the he wants me to get baptized. My dad sensed that all was not well with me and he probably thought that baptism will help me because it had helped him. I had already been baptized as an infant but thought, ‘why not?’ because I had thought of a sure way to end my life that night and it didn’t matter what I did that day because come night, I would be free from this life – so much to my dad’s surprise, I agreed to be baptized.

My dad took me to a house where I met a lady Pastor who was all ready to teach me about adult baptism and the baptism of the Spirit. My dad told me that I was going to become Born-Again. My heart was not in it and I didn’t even understand what it was all about but I decided to sit and listen for what it was worth.

Yet, there was something quite striking about this lady pastor and I picked up on it right away. She seemed to be filled with joy, assured, settled and content, in other words, she was at peace – and I was far from it. I could see when I looked into her eyes that she was joyful and at peace within. Our emotional states at that moment were like night and day and I wanted what she had so badly. I wanted at least for a moment to be at peace like her.

The Pastor was talking about God and the Holy Spirit and then she suddenly stopped talking and tears began to roll down her cheeks. I was wondering why she was tearing and realized that I too was tearing. I felt a strange warmth around me and I couldn’t quite figure out what it was. Then the pastor told me, “Natalie the Lord is just telling me to tell you that He loves you. I can’t put into words the love He has for you and He says that you are a princess in His Kingdom”. Those words literally jump-started me and for the first time in years I felt alive. I was now weeping and I couldn’t remain stone cold and hard anymore. I felt as though a hammer was breaking away the layer of stone around my heart. God touched my heart that was hard, cold and dead and sprang me back to life. It was then that I experienced for the first time what it was like to be alive – so in effect, before this happened, I was in a sense dead – or at least I felt like the walking dead and empty within.

The Pastor then told me that Jesus was waiting at the door to my heart^^1^^ and that if I let Him in, He would come and be with me forever. Although it sounded like something that would appeal to a child, after having experienced something supernatural, I was willing to take her up on her offer because ‘loneliness’ was another factor that had contributed to my problems. I said ‘yes’.

Now I knew Who Jesus was and I thought that I had a good relationship with Him all this time and never for once thought that there was more to a relationship with God than I had experienced before this day. I thought that the bad circumstances that I was facing was because of my sin and that I had deserved to go through it. I had always had great respect and love for Jesus but always felt too sinful, unworthy and undeserving of anything He wanted to bless me with. I didn’t know about others but in my mind, I was just too much of a mess and sinful to be loved by anyone, let alone All Mighty God.

The Pastor then lead me through the Believer’s Prayer^^2^^ and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior that day and was Born-Again. I had no idea that praying a simple prayer could make a person come alive and I was alive in a new kind of way. There was a feeling of freshness and newness and most of all, I could feel and sense things around me and find joy in the simplest of things. Being born again is as simple as praying a simple prayer with conviction in your heart. ^^3^^

‘Born Again Christianity’ is not a new concept and neither is it alien to the Bible. Jesus Himself states that one cannot go to heaven unless he/she is born again^^4^^. In the book of John, Jesus talks to Nicodemus the Pharisee about being born of water and of the Spirit being a prerequisite to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Being born of water refers to water baptism which Jesus modeled for us^^5^^ as an adult consciously going through the waters of baptism at the river of Jordan and God confirmed His approval of Jesus’ actions to all present by speaking out from heaven and stating that Jesus was His Son in Whom He was well pleased. Let’s look at why it is important to be born of the Spirit.

When God created man, He created man to have a close relationship with Him (God). We are our best when we have that close relationship with God because we are built that way. Imagine an engine that has to be oiled in order to function smoothly. If it is not oiled, it will become noisy, creaky, slow and will ultimately stop. That is what happens to us when we exist without a relationship with God. You might wonder what kind of relationship I am talking about. Well, I am referring to the kind of relationship that Adam and Eve had with God before sin entered the world.

Read Genesis 3:8-10 very carefully:

‘And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”. So he (Adam) said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”’

The setting is the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve had committed the first sin and were ashamed of themselves and were hiding from God^^6^^. I am not focusing on the sin or the shame but rather on the fact that God walked in the Garden of Eden and spoke with Adam and Eve. This just blows my mind. This is the kind of relationship that I am talking about; a walking-talking relationship with Almighty God. This is the kind of relationship we were created to have with God and when we live without it, we are not complete to say the least. There is a space in all of our hearts that can be filled by God and God alone. Many because of ignorance spend their entire lives looking for someone or something that can fill that void but end up broken hearted or enslaved by someone or something or addicted to various substances simply because nothing but God can fill that void. Some have everything they could possibly imagine in terms of wealth, skills, opportunities, appearance, relationships and health etc. but still feel empty and unsatisfied without the love of God in their lives because they are ignorant of their nature of His love.

Before committing the first sin, Adam and Eve were holy and alive in Spirit or in other words, their spirits were connected to God’s Spirit. You and I have to be alive in Spirit in order to be able to connect to God because God is a Spirit^^7^^. Man came alive because God formed man out of the earth and breathed into his nostrils^^8^^. It is the breath of God that keeps us alive in Spirit.

So how did this connection with God break down? The connection with God broke down because of sin. Sin came in between God and man and as a result of that block, man died spiritually because that connection with God was what kept man alive in spirit. When we are physically born into this world, we are physically alive but dead spiritually. Throughout the course of our lives, God provides us with the information and support that we need to come back to Him and connect with Him^^9^^.

When we say the Believer’s Prayer, what are we doing?

p<>{color:#000;}. We invite Jesus into our hearts to come and fill that void that only God can fill.

p<>{color:#000;}. We ask God to forgive us for our sins. These sins blocked our spirits connecting with God’s Spirit.

p<>{color:#000;}. We accept that we need a Saviour who is Jesus Christ. We cannot save ourselves because we are insufficient to pay the price for our sins (we will discuss this in detail later on).

p<>{color:#000;}. We submit ourselves in obedience to Jesus as our Lord. Recall that the first sin committed by man sin was disobedience.

If you haven’t done so already, please pray the Believer’s Prayer out loud with conviction in your heart. It was the best decision I ever made in life and you too will have many testimonies of God’s goodness in your life over the years to come. Take that first step; Be Born!

p={color:#000;}. Know God – Know the Truth

Christianity is all about a relationship with God and that is what makes it unique. Christianity is all about God Who created the Universe and holds time and space in His hands and you. It has nothing to do with rituals, places, objects, attire, literature or lineage. It is about you and God having a walking-talking relationship.

In Chapter 1 we discussed what we need to do in order to pave the way for a walking-talking relationship with God. The next most important thing is to know God. I am not talking about reading the Bible cover to cover (although I greatly encourage it) or become the champion of the Bible Quiz. It is not good enough to know about God – yes it is important but it is more important to know Who God is.

Who is God? God is love^^10^^. Short and simple; God is love. These words encompass everything that God is. He does everything He does, because He loves – it is His nature.

I do understand that there are some who find it difficult to believe that God loves them because of the many negative circumstances that they have experienced in their lives and some of the sinful things that they themselves have done. Also, some can’t imagine that God actually loves people because of all the chaos and destruction that they see in the world today. There are instances that we cannot explain why certain things happen but there is also a reason as to why the world is so chaotic. We will discuss this in Chapter 3.

Yet, it is often possible to believe that God loves other people but it is very difficult to accept that God loves me. I believed that God loved people. I never doubted it. However, even after becoming Born Again and getting to know God as God Emmanuel – God Who is with me, I still found it difficult to digest the fact that God loved me particularly. I knew that He loved others but found it hard to believe that He could love me because I knew who I was, what I had done, thought and said, I knew that I had nothing to offer Him. I couldn’t comprehend that He would love me when there was nothing He could get from me in return. The world that I know does not work that way. You have to give twice as much to get twice as little and God’s system of giving expecting nothing in return was quite alien to me.

I often used to tell the Lord, ‘If I were You, I’d never love me’. Even after becoming a believer (being Born Again), I struggled for many years unable to accept the love of God. ‘What have I done to deserve it?’, ‘When there are so many others who are much better than me, why me?’ are the kind of thoughts that floated around in my mind. My focus was on me and all my shortcomings. Many believers go through this. Even after having a powerful encounter with God, some still fall into the trap of doubting God’s love for them. By all means, it is a trap – a trap set by the devil himself. In fact, this is the trap that the devil or satan will set for many believers as the end draws near so be alert and guard yourself.

In a walking-talking relationship with God, the focus is not on you. It is on God. He is the base, the beginning and the substance of a relationship that has no end, limit or bounds. God loves you as you are^^11^^, even before you’ve asked Him to forgive you, even before you are aware of His existence, even before you are born physically and spiritually^^12^^. Even if your earthly parents don’t love you, God does^^13^^ and the knowledge of His love for you will fill you up^^14^^. There will no longer be a void in your heart or an empty place in your life because He is sufficient.

The knowledge of God’s love for you is a weapon in your hand. The devil’s ultimate goal is to steal our souls and he cannot do this if we are connected to God. He needs to pull us away from God in order to achieve his goal and he knows that he cannot deter God’s love for us, so he does everything in his power to make us doubt God’s love. God’s love is our life line and the minute we let go of it, we are in great danger and let me tell you why. Let’s go back to the Garden of Eden and this time let’s focus on the sin and what happened as a result.

In the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve sinned, they died spiritually. God is a Spirit and in order to commune with Him, we have to be alive in spirit. So, ever since that first sin came in between God and man, God’s plan was to restore that relationship between Himself and us.

God is just – the sins that have been committed must be atoned for. In the Old Testament, people brought various offerings of animals to the temple and the animals were offered to God as a sacrifice and atonement for their sin^^15^^. Death is the punishment for sin^^16^^ and we all deserve to die because we are sinners^^17^^. At the Garden of Eden, man exchanged his holy nature for a sinful nature by giving into sin. If you and I were to atone for our sins, we will not be able to bare it and neither will we be sufficient. But because of the love that God has for us, He offered Himself up as payment for all the sins of the world. God left the splendor of heaven and came to this world as a man; Jesus. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit of God and born of a woman’s womb. Jesus is God and man at the same time. Jesus is God in bodily form. God in His holiness was sufficient to pay that price that all of us put together could never pay.

When God paid the price, He bought back our right to spiritual life which we lost by committing sin in the Garden of Eden. So, Jesus holds within Himself the right to be alive in spirit. When we allow Jesus into our hearts, He brings with Him that right to be alive in spirit. This is salvation and salvation comes through Jesus Who is God become Man. Our right to be alive in spirit is eternal. Our physical bodies are temporary but our spirits are eternal. Therefore we call this eternal life. When the sins are paid for, sin has no claim over us and therefore we are free from spiritual death.

In order to access this gift of eternal life, we have to accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. The gift is given free to anyone who wants it. Now this is the tricky part. We must first believe that God’s gift is for us. But then the question arises; ‘why would God give me such a gift when I have done nothing to deserve it?’. It is true you and I have done nothing to deserve it but here again, the focus is not on you and me but it is on God. The gift is given because God loves us. It is His nature to love us. Remember, God is love.

So if you’ve been finding it hard to believe that God loves you as you are, well now you know that He loves you because that’s Who He is – you can be the best person on earth or the worse person on earth but He will still love you and He died for you too. It’s not about who you are but it is about Who He is.

Now, here’s the catch, you have to stubbornly believe that God loves you. You have to believe it no matter what circumstances surround you. Believing that God loves you is your key to victory because Jesus is the embodiment of God’s love. Unless you believe that God loves you, you will never be able to reap the benefits of salvation. If you and I doubt God’s love, we doubt Jesus and we doubt salvation.

God is love and He loves you. Yes, there are trying circumstances but He loves you. He will put all things in order for your good^^18^^ and He will walk with you through your trials^^19^^. Remember why trying circumstances come into your life in the first place. They come to make you doubt God’s love for you because that is the only way they can separate you from God and try to steal back your soul. Whatever happens, never doubt that God loves you because He does. He loves you and He delights in you as you are. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

The truth is that God loves you. No wonder Jesus says ‘the truth will set you free’^^20^^ and this is the very truth that satan will try his best to make you doubt so that he could hold you captive. Know the Truth.

p={color:#000;}. Know Where Your Citizenship Is

There is so much chaos in the world. Death and destruction is everywhere. Some blame God for all the chaos or accuse Him of just watching and doing nothing to change it. Some question the existence of God too. I am sure you’ve heard this phrase before, ‘if there really is a God, how could something like this happen?’ Well, there is something fundamentally wrong with this line of thinking. God is not the author of chaos but of order. The devil is the author of chaos.

Both man-made and natural disasters are escalating and expanding in terms of the destruction and devastation they cause. There are various viruses and illnesses that are surfacing. You will also see increasingly that the innocent suffer while the unjust thrive. ‘Where is justice?’ is another common question. How come perpetrators of terrible crimes walk free when a child who stole a bun from the market place because he was hungry is sent to a juvenile prison? It all seems so unfair. Why is this? It is because this is how it is on Earth. This is how the ruler of the earth operates. This is his law. Who is the ruler of earth? He is satan the devil^^21^^.

The Earth is satan’s camp and we who are children of God and echo God’s nature are aliens to the system that prevails on Earth. In satan’s system, good is punished, bad is rewarded. Chaos is welcome and order is rejected. Satan’s system is the exact opposite of God’s system. But if God created the world, how come the devil now controls it?

This question takes us back to the Garden of Eden. God created the world and gave it to man and placed man in a position of authority over the world and everything in it^^22^^. But when man sinned, man opened a door way for sin to enter into God’s perfect world where satan otherwise had no legal right to enter. Satan in the form of a snake went to those who held authority over the world in order to trick them and get them to lose a bit of that authority and dominion to him. His plan worked. Adam and Eve and all the generations after them relinquished our rightful authority and dominion over the earth to the devil.

What does the Bible say about satan? Satan kills, steals and destroys^^23^^. Isn’t that what we see everywhere on earth – death, loss and destruction?

When I became Born Again, I felt God’s presence in my life but my circumstances didn’t change automatically like I expected that they would. Make a note of this; God does not promise you a trouble free life. As long as you are on earth, the devil will do everything in his power to separate you from God, his main strategy is to burden you to the point that you doubt God’s love for you and even God’s existence. The devil wants you to move away from God. But God’s burden is not heavy on you^^24^^.

Sin gives birth to sin^^25^^. When we sin, (if we don’t go to God immediately, repent and ask for forgiveness) we are drawn to commit more sin, It has a snowballing effect. And the farther we get away from God and the longer we stay away from Him, the more prone we are to commit sin. When we give into this, we become a citizen of earth, ruled by the ruler of the earth, the devil.

Those of us who choose to follow God cannot and should not expect life on earth to be simple. It is so not because God is not there or He has abandoned us but it is so because we are living on the enemy’s territory. We are essentially like fish out of water. Our citizenship is in heaven^^26^^. The ruler of this world has no intention of being nice to the children of his Enemy. In heaven, we are like fish in water because we are where we are supposed to be.

Don’t expect life to be easy because it won’t but with God on your side, you can overcome anything. Right now you may feel like prey being hunted by the devil but as you grow in the Lord, you will be the hunter and the tables will turn. This is what God put you on this earth for. It is to reclaim what is rightfully yours.

Know that your citizenship is in heaven and that this is a temporary abode. A walking, talking relationship with God is the key to overcoming the trials that the world will throw at you. With God, there is no other outcome but victory.

p={color:#000;}. Live & Grow

You are now born again and you must now live and grow in this new lease of life that you have received because God loves you. You live in enemy territory. The world you live in is contrary to God but you are here for a purpose. The enemy works tirelessly to disconnect you from God and make you forfeit God’s gift of love; salvation^^27^^. You now need to learn to survive in enemy territory.

The key hear is to know that when you became born again, you became alive in Spirit. Now, you must feed your spirit so that it will remain alive and grow in God. The stronger your spirit’s connection is with the Holy Spirit of God, the easier it becomes to live a Godly life in this carnal minded world.

The Oxford Dictionary describes the word ‘carnal’ as being ‘of the body or flesh and not spiritual’. By this we can understand that ‘carnal’ and ‘spiritual’ are two states of being that are in contrast to each other. So, one can be carnal in thought or spiritual in thought. One can be driven by carnal desires and another by spiritual desires. The carnal is contrary to the spiritual.

Therefore, our physical bodies are carnal and our spirits (which are now alive and operational) are spiritual yet a human being has a spirit, a body and a soul. So you can imagine that there will be conflict within a human being where a carnal body and a spiritual spirit are combined. Naturally the stronger will dominate the other. The good news is that you and I have a say in which one can become the stronger one – but let me warn you on the onset that a bit of effort is required in this regard.

When we read the book of Romans in the Bible, we see Paul express the turmoil within himself^^28^^. In verse 23 of chapter 7, Paul states that the law in his members (body) is warring against the law of his mind (spirit). There is a point to note here. Before looking at how to survive in enemy territory, we need to first focus on how to strengthen our spirit^^29^^ because by doing so, we are enabled to understand the things of God and prevail over our carnal or fleshly desires which are contrary to God.

It is very important to note here that the benefit of strengthening the spirit also transcends to the physical as well. There are millions if not billions in the world that are slaves to their carnal desires; these are called addictions and are not limited to food only but let me take sugar addiction as an example because I myself suffered from it. People get addicted to sugar because of the taste and the little boost of energy one gets after consuming something sweet. I used to find myself craving for something sweet even after a good meal. In my experience, no matter how full I was, I didn’t feel full until I had eaten something sweet. For me, sugar was like the morning coffee that some cannot do without. The worse part was that I knew that I was consuming way too much sugar in my diet and I knew what the consequences could turn out to be. I knew I had to overcome it and I had the desire to do so. Every morning I would resolve to not give-in to the urge of eating a sweet but when the moment of truth came, I failed miserably. Then I felt depressed and reached out for double the amount of sugar in order to feel better. It was a vicious cycle. I even prayed but there was no change and this puzzled me. How could I not control what I put into my body? The simple answer is this; my spirit was too weak to overcome my flesh. My fleshly desire won over my will because my flesh was stronger and more dominant. This only meant that I had not fed my spirit enough that it may survive and grow strong.

If your spirit is hungry, you must feed it. Through feeding your spirit, you can and will overcome your flesh. How can you feed your spirit? Jesus has the answer: “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”^^30^^ The answer is the Word of God. The Bible contains the word of God^^31^^ in literal form but every word is life to your spirit. The more you read the Bible and meditate on what you read, the more you feed your spirit and the stronger your spirit becomes.

Reading the word of God or the Bible on a daily basis is a ‘must do’ for someone who desires a walking talking relationship with God. The benefits and gain are so much that it cannot be quantified or put into words. Internally, when your spirit grows stronger and becomes dominant, you will be able to overcome your internal battles and externally, when the enemy throws various trials and temptations your way and your flesh is ready to give-in, your spirit along with the Spirit of God will battle and overcome and you will be preserved as holy. If your spirit is not fed, it will die and that connection with God will be blocked. Again, I say this because at one point in my life, I struggled to reach God. This was after I had become born again but work and everything around me took up all my time and I failed to sit at the feet of the Lord every morning as had been my practice for years. During this time, I managed to gain a significant amount of weight, squander all my savings, cause damage to a few important relationships, become extremely irritable, depressed, frustrated, lose hope and given up. God was there, He hadn`t gone away but my spirit was dying and I couldn`t connect with God Who is a Spirit.

Meditating on God`s word daily, will enable you to live and grow in the spirit. It is your strategy for survival and victory while in enemy territory.

p={color:#000;}. Work-In-Progress

There is one fact that you and I must always keep in mind and that is that we are all ‘[_ work-in- progress _]’ for as long as we are on this earth. Other than Jesus Christ Himself, no one who has walked on this earth in the flesh is without sin^^32^^. Yes, our goal is to be holy because our God is holy^^33^^ but we cannot achieve 100% holiness while on earth – God Himself confirms this by His word.

My walking-talking relationship with God was interrupted on many occasions because of the inconsistences of my emotions, moods, commitments etc. This is normal for a human being who has lived in sin. Despite the fact that I now consciously chose to live a life that glorifies God, sin tries to enslave me every now and then. Among the various strategies the devil had used to disrupt my walk with God is guilt.

As I began to walk with God and get to know Him more and more, my love for Him kept on growing. What made me love Him the most was the way He loved me; unconditionally. He was concerned about me and He expressed it in many ways and God became more real and alive to me than some of the people that I could see and touch. I so wanted to please Him and the love that I had for Him was such that I didn’t want to hurt Him because I couldn’t bare it. Such was my love for God.

Now you might think that it is good to love God – yes it indeed is. Yet, the love that I loved Him with was an earthly kind of love. It was a love where I had to give in order to receive. If I failed Him in any way, it would mean that I didn’t love Him enough to keep myself from sin. This was how I felt constantly.

Naturally, I committed sin no matter how strongly I resolved not to and when I did, I didn’t have the courage to go before God because I felt that I had betrayed Him. When I sinned, I became guild stricken and my guilt^^34^^ kept me from going before the Lord and receiving the forgiveness that He has already set aside for me. I forewent what was already mine by giving into guilt which was pushed my way by the devil.

The two main mistakes that I made was to liken the love between God and myself to an earthly relationship and then secondly to give in to the feeling of guilt which is offered by the devil and not by God.

When you commit a sin, yes you will be sad but don’t let that sadness lead to guilt and then moving away from God but let that sadness turn into repentance and draw you nearer to God. Satan is the accuser^^35^^ and what he wants to do is to accuse you of betraying God push you into guilt which leads to spiritual death through a distancing from God.

Remember that Jesus came for sinners^^36^^. So, each time the devil accuses you of being a sinner, remind him that Jesus came for you and that with every new day that dawns, God’s mercies towards you are renewed^^37^^.

Remember Daniel^^38^^ from the Bible? Although the king commanded that Daniel and his friends be given a portion of the king’s delicacies as part of their preparation to serve as the king’s officials, Daniel purposed in his heart that he will not do anything that will cause him to be defiled. God blessed Daniel in his decision and rewarded Daniel greatly that the others too followed his course of action. Similarly, God looks at your heart. Determine in your heart to do what is right in God’s eyes and He will give you the strength and wisdom you need to overcome temptation. If you fail, repent and go before the Lord and ask Him for forgiveness. Remember that for as long as you are on this earth in the flesh, you are work in progress.

It is important to note here that you and I are not the only work in progress but everyone else in the world is work in various stages of progress so God calls us to be merciful to others. For me, forgiving those who have hurt me has been the highest hurdle to get over. Often God would nudge me and remind me that I have to forgive a certain person and I would put off dealing with the issue. God would patiently remind me that when I forgive, I am released and ready to be blessed. Remember that forgiving others does more for you than for those you forgive. I even recall listening to a sermon where the preacher said that the greatest weapon that he used against all the people that the devil used against him was forgiveness.

God’s Kingdom operates on love that is expressed much through forgiveness. Jesus explained this concept to His disciples using a parable^^39^^. We have been forgiven much and God forgives us on a daily basis – therefore you and I have no right to hold bitter thoughts against others that Jesus died to set free. Don’t feel hopeless at this point. I admit that it is easier said than done by far. I’ve spent months weeping and struggling with my emotions to forgive certain people in my life. Mothers will know what I mean when I say that it is like going through child birth. You carry something so heavy for so long and your life is nothing close to normal when you carry this weight. When the time comes for you to let it go, it is not an easy process, there is pain, there are tears but when you finally deliver, you are at peace. For me, forgiving has been like childbirth and there are still some people that I am struggling to forgive but by the grace of God, I will do it because Christ lives in me and if I can do it, so can you.

When we don’t forgive, we are also guilty of judging others. When we judge others, we bring judgment upon ourselves^^40^^. Judging is God’s job. God judges because there is no sin whatsoever in Him but we who are sinners cannot judge other sinners and we who stand to judge others seriously overstep our boundaries and venture out to God’s territory. The best thing is to let God do what He specializes in doing and ask the Holy Spirit to help us to forgive and let go.

You and I are work in progress. Pastors are work in progress, our parents, teachers and relatives are work in progress. No one is complete. In fact, now might be a good time to turn and look back at our lives and ask the Holy Spirit to help us forgive those who we have not been able to forgive. When I was a child, my mother was my biggest hero. But in my teenage years I saw her many flaws and was in a sense disappointed that she was not the perfect person I thought she was. My mother wasn’t a typical mother who’d stay at home and cook etc. she was a career woman. So, in a sense I was bitter towards her for not being around too much. It was only I became a mother myself that I realized that when one becomes a mother, the earth doesn’t shake and something doesn’t snap inside of you and you don’t suddenly become the epitome of perfection. I had this tiny little baby boy to care for and I was still me – I had no idea about how to raise a child. My mother by the way did a great job as a mom because she did her best. She would never give-up no matter what troubles came her way. I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for God’s blessing of my mother in my life. When I became a mother, I forgave her for the flaws that I thought she had because I learnt that she just like me is; work in progress.

Perfection is not something that you and I can achieve in this life-time, so don’t be too hard on yourself if you make mistakes. God is a righteous Judge who shows no partiality so you and I are in the right hands. Just this morning I read in the book of Corinthians Paul says that he does not even judge himself^^41^^ and I think it is a good principal to live by. But you might wonder if that means we could do just about anything that we want and feel like doing. Don’t forget that God judges the heart^^42^^/^^43^^.

p={color:#000;}. Open the Gift

Imagine this; there is a man who has a life threatening illness. There is no cure to be found anywhere in the world. The man has run from pillar to post, spent all their wealth but no one can offer a cure. Then one evening a stranger comes and knocks on the door and the man opens the door. The stranger gives the man a box and says your healing is inside this and the stranger disappears. The man is baffled that a stranger would give him something so valuable for free and he takes it and keeps it under the bed. He is happy that he has received healing in a box but continues to suffer in vain simply because he hasn’t opened the box.

Although it probably sounds quite silly most of us believers never actually open the box. We continue to suffer even after we receive free access to all that Jesus won for us on the cross. We who are children of the most-high God live like losers^^44^^. I have lived like this and have entertained this mentality in my life for many years.

Jesus is the gift of God’s love to us. In Jesus is every possible thing we need in order to be victorious. In Jesus is healing. In Jesus is provision. In Jesus is freedom from sin, addiction and captivity. In Jesus is love and belonging. In Jesus is self-control and righteousness. In Jesus is victory, skill and ability. In Jesus is wisdom and confidence. In Jesus is restoration. In Jesus is opportunity, instruction and direction. In Jesus is will-power and determination. In Jesus is everything that we lost due to our spiritual death. So in every sense, Jesus is the solution to every issue that we face during our time on earth. The righteousness that we need in order to be able to be blessed by God is in Jesus Christ. Therefore what we must do is to put on Jesus Christ^^45^^.

Think of it as wearing a veil. When one wears a veil, others only see the veil and not the person who is wearing it. When we put on Jesus, others only see Jesus who is perfect and not you and me who are imperfect. When you put on Christ, Christ’s righteousness becomes your righteousness. This is something that you must test and see for yourself. I tried it too. All you have to do is pray every morning along the lines of; ‘I put on Jesus. Lord Jesus increase in me and let me decrease. I want to be just like You. I want You to be in control of my every thought, every word, every action and every intention and live through me. Let me live for the glory of my Father God. In Jesus name I ask. Amen.” You will be amazed at the transformation that will take place. You will see your weaknesses gradually diminish and righteousness takeover. Where you were weak, you will become strong and you will begin to transform into the character of Jesus Christ – just believe^^46^^.

If it is healing that you require, it is available in Jesus. All you have to do is ask^^47^^. Say “Jesus take my illness and give me the healing that you won on the cross for me”. And tell your sickness, “, I command you in the name of Jesus, leave me now because you have no right to be in me. I belong to Jesus and He has paid the price. I am healed in Jesus name.” and believe. Don’t wait until you see healing physically, to believe that you are healed^^48^^. Know and believe that when you ask Jesus, He will do it for you and praise God. Jesus Himself says that God will do whatever you ask of Him in the name of Jesus^^49^^. It is important to note here that God’s intentions towards you are the very best and are for good^^50^^. It is easy to think that God does not care for you when you are facing a tough situation. God’s intentions towards us are the very best. He makes all things work for your good^^51^^. So, when you pray believe that God wants you to be healed. When you ask according to God’s will and not amiss, you will receive your answer^^52^^.

Wisdom is not far away from us either. In fact wisdom is something that God gives freely to anyone who asks^^53^^. Godly wisdom helps us in two ways; first, it helps us to understand the things of God and second, it helps us to identify the strategies and traps of the devil. Note here that education and qualifications do not equal Godly wisdom. It is something beyond what can be found in the world. Therefore ask God for wisdom so that you can honor Him with your decisions on a daily basis.

Another gift that you will find inside the box is authority. The authority with which Jesus commanded the storm to cease, the authority with which Jesus commanded people to be healed, the authority with which Jesus commanded the evil spirits to leave and the authority with which Jesus raised the dead is available for those who believe and accept Jesus. However, it is important to note that in order to exercise this authority, one has to pick-up their cross and follow Jesus^^54^^. What this means is that there is sacrifice involved. Sacrifice in terms of time where one would sit at the feet of the Lord and wait to be refreshed, filled by His Spirit and empowered. Sacrifice in terms of fasting and prayer where the physical body is disciplined through fasting but the spiritual body is fed and strengthened with the word. The spirit must grow and become strong before authority could be exercised. God will never give you and me anything that we are not ready to handle. When we exercise authority, we confront evil forces directly and evil forces do retaliate. However if we are deeply connected to God, God will expose satan’s plans and inform us of the strategy that we should employ to defeat enemy forces. Only those who have a walking-talking relationship with God, and who are attuned to Him will hear His voice. To hear God’s voice, we must be like sheep who obey every command of the shepherd^^55^^. It takes great humility and sacrifice to be able to let go of our will and surrender to God’s and to grow enough to a point where one can surrender takes much time in the presence of the Lord. So in short, if you and I want to exercise the authority of Jesus, we have to be ready to make sacrifices in terms of time and comfort in order to grow in the Lord and surrender to His will.

One of the greatest problems that we face in the world today is uncertainty. We don’t know what will happen in the future and making decisions can be pretty tough. God knows the future and He is in control of it. He has a strategy for you for each day. When King David was preparing to go to battle with the Philistines on one occasion, he waited upon the Lord for a strategy. God honored his faith and trust and gave King David a strategy. God told King David that he should advance for battle only when he heard the sound of marching atop the mulberry trees.^^56^^ Who could possibly be marching on top of the mulberry trees other than angels? God was sending re-enforcements and He wanted David to wait until then. So God has a plan for your every situation too. The key is to wait at the feet of God to receive the strategy and move when God tells you to move. If you open the box, you have access to God’s plan for your life and the future is no longer uncertain.

Most of us have all this at hand but still live out our lives in great distress. I must admit that as I write this very chapter, God is speaking to me too. I am work-in-progress and God wants me to open the box and take all that He has won for me. Don’t put this off. Open the box today.

p={color:#000;}. Miracle Blood

Once someone accepts Jesus, into their hearts and chose to walk with God, the forces of evil wage war almost on a daily basis^^57^^ in order to claim back that soul that they have now lost. The forces of evil do not accept defeat easily. They will seek out weak spots to attack. For example, they may attack someone with an addiction, with temptation^^58^^ and try to drag away that soul from God. It is important therefore to ensure that we are well covered away from the fiery darts of the devil. But, how can we do that?

The answer is; through the Blood of Jesus. There is power in the Blood of Jesus. When Jesus was on the cross and the centurion who was blind in one eye thrust his spear to Jesus’ side, the blood and water that came from that wound went into his eye and he could see again^^59^^. Ordinary blood can’t do that but the Blood of Jesus can because it was the currency that God used to pay the price for sin. Each one of us had to pay this price but God sacrificed Himself once and for all and paid the price.

Let’s look at the importance of blood in the Bible. In the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve had committed the first sin and they realized that they were naked, an animal had to be slain (and blood shed) in order for coverings to be made for them. In order for their sin to be covered, blood had to be shed. The first occasion in which blood is mentioned in the Bible is in the book of Genesis when Cain has slain his brother Abel. God says that Abel’s blood cried out to Him^^60^^. The life is in the blood. This is why God prohibits his people to eat or drink blood^^61^^. You will find that today there are many ungodly cults in the world where drinking blood is a form of ritual. This is something that God has prohibited because life is in the blood.

During the time of Moses, the blood of a lamb saved the Hebrew people from the Angel of Death. The only thing that stood between the Angel of Death and the Hebrew people was the blood of the lamb that was applied on the lintels of their homes^^62^^. When the Angel of Death saw the blood of the lamb, he passed over them.

In the Old Testament, the people used the blood of an animal but in the New Testament, Jesus is the Lamb and He paid for our sins with His blood. There is no need for any further shedding of blood. The Blood of Jesus is sufficient. All we have to do is cover ourselves daily with the blood of Jesus because it is the indication that our sins have been paid for and that evil forces have no further right to claim any form of payment. Note here that the Blood of Jesus can cover you and me, only if we are clean and in order to be clean, we have to be first washed by the blood of Jesus where we go before Him and confess our sins and are washed clean. So if you want to be covered by the blood of Jesus, first confess your sins to Jesus and then request to be covered by His blood.

When you pray to be covered under the Blood of Jesus, don’t only stop that praying for yourself. You see, the devil will try to attack you and everything that is important and precious to you. When you read the book of Job in the Bible, you see a pattern used by the devil in is attack against Job and it did not involve only attacking Job. Job lost his family and possessions as well. Therefore, when pray for the covering of the Blood of Jesus, cover yourself, your family, your household and or/business/employment, your pets, assets and finances, health and relationships. This kind of activity may seem like it is too simple a strategy against the devil but remember that the wisdom of God seems like foolishness to the world^^63^^ therefore cover yourself with the Miracle Blood of Jesus every day.

p<>{color:#000;}. Keep The Temple Clean

Now let’s talk about our physical bodies. The Bible says that our earthly body is the temple of the Holy Spirit^^64^^. We have to keep our physical bodies pure in order for the Holy Spirit to dwell. Why is it important that the Holy Spirit dwell in us? It is because no one can recognize the Lordship of Jesus without the working of the Holy Spirit^^65^^. If we cannot recognize the Lordship of Jesus, we reject God’s gift of eternal life and we lose everything good. It all comes down to the temple.

If you look at media today, the human body is used in a very sexual manner and is presented as a commodity. In the present (2016) I notice that music videos are so vulgar that a decade or two ago it would have been categorized as pornography. The lyrics of certain pop songs are so perverted. The intimacy shared among a husband and wife to celebrate their God ordered love, is sold on the street corners. Everything is sexualized; advertisements, clothing, you name it and this is a classic example of the devil or the prince of the air being in control of things.

Why is this over sexualization taking place? It is because unlike any other sin, sexual sins defile the body^^66^^. See how satan attacks the very instrument that is meant to be the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit of God.

It is important to note here that God forgives all those who repent and if we have committed sexual sins and go before the Lord and ask Him for forgiveness, He will forgive us. Those who have committed sexual sins are often ashamed of themselves. Don’t be – remember that all have sinned and gone astray. We all need Jesus and He knows that. There is hope for us sinners. I live because of God’s mercy. I am forgiven and cleansed by God. If God forgave me, He will forgive you. God does not favor anyone^^67^^. He does not rate us as grave sinners and minor sinners. He loves us as we are because it is His nature to love. The love originates from Him^^68^^ and not from us.

It might be important to discuss what some of the sexual sins are at this point because it is a key weapon that satan uses against us upon this earth and there is also a tendency to by media to downplay the gravity of sexual promiscuity and even make to appear trendy. This is a trap. Your body is the temple of God.

Fornication: The Oxford dines ‘fornication’ as having sexual intercourse while unmarried. This sin is so rampant and accepted that some even wonder if it is a sin. Well, for God’s people it is. When having sexual intercourse, the persons participating become one flesh^^69^^ and it creates a tie and opens a channel for the transfer of spiritual things like curses and demons (that could be dwelling in a person^^70^^) between the persons involved. It gives satan a foothold in one’s life. Even if the sin is being committed by a male and a female that are planning to get married, still if they have not gone before God for their union to be blessed and approved by Him, they take the risk of giving satan legal grounds to destroy their marriage when they finally do get married. At the point where fornication is committed, satan may enter the relationship and remain dormant for years before he strikes to destroy the relationship and the lives of those involved. Don’t be fooled. Lose living and having many sexual partners may look like a great achievement in this world but it is actually a great loss. Don’t give the devil a foothold in your relationship even before it’s begun.

Adultery: Adultery is when one has sexual relations with someone other than their spouse. Everything that applies to fornication applies here as well. Satan has come up with the new concept of emotional faithfulness and physical faithfulness. There are many couples who now have open marriages where the spouses are allowed to have physical relations with others but have to remain emotionally faithful to their spouses. Polygamy, Androgyny and all sorts of alternative living arrangements are freely accepted and presented in media as the in thing where human liberties are upheld to the maximum. Little do people know that by engaging in such behavior, they are actually willingly going into captivity. Adultery destroys the lives of those involved and even God Who hates divorce allows it in the event adultery has been committed^^71^^ – this should give some indication of the gravity of this sin.

Pornography: Pornography is so freely available and accessible even to children because of the internet. Even some regular programs that are on television can be rated as bordering on the lines of pornography. Can you remember what Jesus taught about being careful about what we look at^^72^^? What you see can corrupt your body. It can also corrupt your mind and cause you to be addicted which is equal to going into captivity^^73^^.

Avoid these sins like the plague. If you have committed any of these sins, ask the Lord for forgiveness. If you are unable to give up any of these sins and it is proving to be difficult to do so, just say ‘Holy Spirit, I want to be released from this sin. I don’t know how to give it up, I don’t seem to have the strength. Please strengthen me and help me to honor God with my body’. If ever you find it difficult to pray or just feel down, just speak a couple of words to the Holy Spirit. All you have to do is ask and He will rush to help you overcome.

It is my observation that the rate sexualization of the media increased rapidly in the past couple of decades. I see it this as action targeting young minds in in an effort to draw away many from the embrace of God into the lake of fire. Our bodies are a gift from God and it is where He chooses to dwell. Keep your temple clean and be victorious on earth – Heaven is your destination.

Walk with God……….

With God all things are possible^^74^^ and Jesus meant it when He said that His burden is light^^75^^. You will never face a trial that God will not give you the strength to be victorious over and what’s more He will stand with you and shield you from the storm.

Trust in Him to see you through the trials of this world and believe in His promises^^76^^ found in His word (the Bible)….. Walk with God.

1 Revelations 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

2 A sample Believer’s Prayer: Darling Jesus, I want You in my life. I open my heart to You. Please come and live in me. I believe and accept that You are the Son of God Who died for to set me free. I believe that You rose from the dead on the third day and that You are alive. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and teach me Your Word. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

3 Romans 10:9-10 – ‘that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. ^[*10 *]^For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.’

4 John 3:1-5 – There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. ^[* *]^This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

5 Luke 3:21-22 – 21 When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven was opened. 22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”

6 Genesis 3:1-7 – Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

7 John 4:24 – God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

8 Genesis 2:7 – And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

9 Romans 1:20 – For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse

10 1John 4:8 – He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

11 1John 4:19 – We love Him[a] because He first loved us.

12 Psalm 139:13 – For You formed my inward parts;

You covered me in my mother’s womb.

13 Psalm 27:10 – When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the Lord will take care of me.

14 Ephesians 3:18-19 – may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

15 Read Leviticus Chapter 22 for more information.

16 Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

17 Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

18 Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

19 Isiah 43:2 – When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you, when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you

20 John 8:31-32 – Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

21 Ephesians 2:1-2 – And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

22 Genesis 1:26-28 – Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[b] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

23 John 10:10 – The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

24 Mathew 11:28-30 – Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

25 James 1:15 – Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death

26 Philippians 3:20-21 – For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

27 1Peter 5:8 – Be sober, be vigilant; because[a] your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

28 Romans 7:23 – But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

29 1Corinthians 2:12-16 – Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

30 Mathew 4:1-4 – Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”[a]

31 2Timothy 3:15 – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

32 Romans 3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

33 1Peter 1:16 – because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

34 2Corinthians 7:9-10 – Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance for you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

35 Revelations 12:10 – Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

36 Mathew 2:17 – When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

37 Lamentations 3:22-23 – Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

38 Daniel 1:8-16 – But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs. And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse than the young men who are your age? Then you would endanger my head before the king.” So Daniel said to the steward[a] whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,“Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then let our appearance be examined before you, and the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of the king’s delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with your servants.” So he consented with them in this matter, and tested them ten days. And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king’s delicacies. Thus the steward took away their portion of delicacies and the wine that they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.

39 Mathew 18:24-33 – And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. “But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’ So his fellow servant fell down at his feet[a] and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’[b] And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’

40 Mathew 7:1 – “Judge not, that you be not judged.

41 1Corinthians 3:3-4 – But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court.[a] In fact, I do not even judge myself. For I know of nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord

42 Romans 8:27 – Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

43 1Samuel 16:7 – But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees;[a] for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

44 Ecclesiastes 10:7 – I have seen servants on horses, While princes walk on the ground like servants

45 Romans 13:14 – But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts

46 Roman 3:21-22 – But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all[a] who believe. For there is no difference;

47 Mathew 7:7-11 – Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

48 2Corinthians 5:7 – For we walk by faith, not by sight

49 John 14:13-14 – And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask[a] anything in My name, I will do it.

50 Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

51 Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

52 James 3:3 – you ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

53 James 1:5-6 – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

54 Luke 9:23 – Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

55 John 10:27 – My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

56 2Samuel 5:24-25 – And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. For then the Lord will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.” And David did so, as the Lord commanded him; and he drove back the Philistines from Geba as far as Gezer.

57 Ephesians 6:12 – For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

58 Mathew 26:41 – Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

59 John 19:31-37 – Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Not one of His bones shall be broken.” And again another Scripture says, “They shall look on Him whom they pierced.

60 Genesis 4:6-12 – So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” Now Cain talked with Abel his brother;[a] and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?”He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground. So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”

61 Leviticus 17:11 – For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’

62 Exodus 12:23 – For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.

63 1Corinthians 1:20-21 – Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

64 1Corinthians 6:16 – Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

65 1Corinthians 12:13 – Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

66 1Corinthians 6:12-20 – All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

67 Romans 2:11 – For there is no partiality with God

68 1John 4:19 – We love Him because He first loved us.

69 Genesis 2:24 – Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

70 Demons can dwell where the Holy Spirit does not. Some people do not believe in demon possession but there are many occasions of demon possession depicted in the Bible. For example, Mathew 4:24.

71 Mathew 5:32 – But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery.

72 Mathew 6:23 – But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

73 Romans 6:16 – Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

74 Mathew 19:26 – But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

75 Mathew 11:28-30 – Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

76 Mark 9:23 – Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
