The Mason family was excited to be moving into the home of their dreams, but it wouldn’t be long before strange things started happening to shatter their dreams. Just because something looks good, doesn’t mean it is good as the Mason family is about to find out on the first day they moved into their dream home.

The Mason family consisted of the father John, Terry the mother, and their three children Bobby, Jimmy and Teresa. Throughout the day, not much out of the ordinary happened other than a few doors opening and closing on their own and a few shadow figures seen by the corners of their eyes.

As the family sat around the kitchen table soaking it all in how much they loved their new home, the chandelier above the table started swinging back and forth.

John said, “Looks like we have a guest with us and is probably upset we didn’t set a place at the table for them.”

“Oh John, you’re always a barrel of laughs,” said his wife Terry.

Then the lights flickered on and off and a ghostly voice said, “Get out!”

“Okay! First the chandelier swings, then the lights flicker and now a voice tells us to get out, I think the previous owners are playing some sort of trick on us, but it ain’t scaring me one bit,” said his wife.

“Honey, don’t worry. I’ll call the owner on my cellphone right now and ask him if this is some kind of a practical joke.”

John called the owner, but he said he wasn’t playing any practical joke on them and that it’s probably that the house is very old and there are going to be noises with old houses.

John laughed and said, “You’re probably right.”

Then John put down his cellphone on the table and told his wife what the owner said and they both laughed and proceeded to finish their meal. After they finished, the kids played games upstairs in their new room they shared together while their parents cleaned the dishes.

Bobby, Jimmy and Teresa were having a great time playing board games when their game pieces started moving on their own.

Bobby said, “Did you guys see that?”

“See what, Bobby?” replied Teresa.

Bobby said, “Look, the game pieces are moving by themselves.”

Bobby, Jimmy and Teresa started screaming for their mother and father, but their parents couldn’t hear their cries for help because of the noise from the dishwasher. Then all of a sudden the bedroom light flickered on and off, then five black figures with blazing red eyes appeared right before their eyes and the kids darted out of the bedroom, running down the hallway down the stairs to the kitchen screaming all the way.

Their parents turned and looked at them and said, “What is the meaning of all the screaming?”

They all answered at the same time, “There are five dark figures with blazing red eyes looking at us!”

Their parents said, “Now slow down and Bobby, you start.”

“There’s five black figures in our bedroom and their eyes were red!”

“Okay, Bobby. I’ll go upstairs and see if those black figures are there,” said his father as he was laughing under his breath.

The rest of the family followed behind him as he walked up the stairs. The children were still afraid and followed close behind. Their father opened their bedroom door and turned on the light switch and there was no sign of five black figures anywhere in the room. The children started laughing right along with their parents.

Their father said, “I think we all need to get a good night’s rest and start fresh in the morning and finish unpacking. Then we can take the boat out for a spin in the lake out back. It was great that the previous owners included the boat in the deal we got on the house.”

The family climbed into their beds for a good night’s rest, but not for long because the five black figures were back and ready to bring the terror level up a notch.

As Bobby, Jimmy and Teresa were sound asleep, three of the black figures got under their sheets and started calling out to them. Bobby thought his brother or sister climbed into bed with him, so he nudged them but a creepy voice called out to him again. When he turned over to say something to what he thought was his brother or sister, he saw those blazing red eyes and jumped out of his bed screaming for his mom and dad, as did Teresa and Jimmy. But his parents were occupied with two black figures as well at the foot of their bed telling them they would all be dead by morning if they didn’t leave the house at once.

The children rushed into their parents’ bedroom and they all embraced.

“I am going to call a priest to do a cleansing of this house so these black mysterious figures can go back to hell where they belong!” John said.

It was midnight but the family did not want to wait until morning to have their house cleansed. John called Father Jacobs to come cleanse the house. The moment Father Jacobs stepped inside the house, the more intense the demonic presence got. The whole family watched in horror as the five dark figures were standing directly in front of him shouting obscenities at him. Father Jacobs just kept on quoting scripture after scripture until the five black figures vanished.

Then Father Jacobs turned and said, “I believe they’re gone.”

He gathered his things, but then the house started shaking violently and the five black figures were back and told Father Jacobs to get out, but Father Jacobs told them he wasn’t going anywhere until the house was cleansed of their evil presence.

Father Jacobs did his best to rid the house of their evil presence, but the evil that these five shadow figures had was just too strong for him to overpower them all. All the Mason family could do is watch in horror at what was about to happen next.

Father Jacobs placed both of his hands on the sides of his head, as though someone or something was trying to detach his head from his shoulders and that’s exactly what happened. Father Jacobs screamed in agony as his head was being torn off from his shoulders from the evil force of the black shadow figures.

The Mason family decided if Father Jacobs was unsuccessful at sending these five black shadow figures back to hell where they belong, they too would all die trying, so they left their belongings behind and piled into their car and drove away, never to return.

The Mason family may think speeding off down the road will leave the terror behind, but there is a strong chance that these five shadow figures aren’t done terrorizing this family.

What would you do if you were in the Mason family’s shoes? Stay behind and fight an uphill battle with this demonic force or take the chance that the five black shadow figures won’t follow you home and terrorize you until every last family member is dead? I’ll leave that up to the reader to make that choice and hope it’s the right one.
