MetaTrader4

To install and run the Camarilla Expert Advisor you must have MetaTrader4 installed in your PC. If you don’t have an account with a broker yet I suggest you open one using Cashback Forex (www.CashbackForex.com). There is no cost to you and by selecting one of the several brokers they list you will get paid a percentage of the spread earned by the broker in every transaction. This also does not preclude you from having a virtual or demo account.

Open Your MT4 Terminal

Now elect File>Open Data Folder

pen The MQL4 Folder

Double-click the MQL4 folder to open it.

Open The Experts Folder

Double-click the Experts folder to open it.

Download The ProjectC File To This Folder

The Experts folder is where EX4 and MQL4 files are located. Download the file you received – ProjectC_v02.ex4 – to this folder.

ook For ProjectC In The Navigator

Close and reopen your MT4 terminal. You should now see the ProjectC_v02 expert advisor in the Navigator window .

ttach The Expert Advisor To A Chart

Open the chart you are interested in, select ProjectC_v02, right-click it and then select Attach to a chart. The expert advisor Inputs window opens up. You can also open it up after the EA is attached to a chart by pressing F7.

Inputs of the ProjectC_v02 expert advisor (EA)

Variable: TimeFrame

Use it to select the timeframe you want to trade on.

Variable: Input1 to Input9

These inputs correspond to the multipliers used in the Camarilla Equation. For instance, for entering a Reversal trade the open price has to be between S3 and R3 where

The EA defines this as

The Camarilla Equation rationale for entering trades, as it relates to the EA inputs, is explained next. The EA starts by defining the following internal variables, referring to the previous period (candle):

1. RANGE = High – Low

2. TOP = Close + RANGE x INPUT_1

3. BOTTOM = Close – RANGE x INPUT_2

Reversal trades

If the open price of the current period lies between BOTTOM and TOP:

Go Long – Buy at BOTTOM

Variable: InputX

The number of PIPs used in trailing stops, as explained before.

Variable: LotSize

The trade size in lots.

Variable: UseTwoProfit

Set it to false if you want to trade using only LotSize and exiting at TakeProfit1 or Stop-loss. Set it to true if you want to use the additional LotSize2 which exits at TakeProfit2.

Variable: LotSize2

The amount traded to be exited at TakeProfit2.

Variable: UseThreeProfit

Set it to true if you want to use the additional LotSize3 which exits at TakeProfit3.

Variable: LotSize3

The amount traded to be exited at TakeProfit3.

Variable: CloseAtNewBar

Set it to true if you want to close the trade when the bar closes. Set it to false if you want the trade to go on until it reaches stop-loss or take-profit.

Variable: Broker5Digits

If your broker uses 5 digits set it to true, otherwise set it to false.

Variable: Magic

The Magic number that identifies the trades made by this EA.

Testing With The ProjectC Expert Advisor (EA)

To perform testing with the EA simply attach it to the chart you are interested in and press F6. This will open a window at the bottom. Click on Expert properties.

This will open a pop-up window showing the EA inputs for testing purposes. When testing, it is this way that you should change the EA input variables. Do not go about it by pressing F7, you will access input values that affect the EA in trading mode only.
