Shakespir Edition

Queen Victoria took being a queen to the head literally. Anyone she didn’t like would be sent to the chopping block where she became famous “Off with their heads,” and off they went, but one day that would all change when she yelled out “Off with his head.” When the guillotine rope was being released and the blade came down it stopped within inches of the man’s neck. Then there was silence from the queen and spectator’s. Everyone’s jaw dropped because the queen was always successful at every execution.

The queen immediately got up from her chair and raced over to ask her henchmen why they failed. The queen yelled out in anger “Do it again!” So, the henchmen examined the guillotine and got it ready again. The queen sat back down in her chair and said “No one leaves my execution with their heads still attached to their body.” The queen again yelled out “Off with his head!” Again the blade came down inches from his neck and stopped. This infuriated the queen and she would stop at nothing to get this man back at the chopping block.

The queen had to release the man because of the botched execution and scheduled the execution the next morning. The queen was laughed at by the spectators for failing at what she was famous for. Jokes were said around town about the queen’s botched execution, but the queen refused to let one botched execution break her spirit. The queen loved to look at her castle from a distance and see all the severed heads hanging over the castle walls from her executions this made her feel inferior over anyone.

After several unsuccessful attempts of locating the man she once had on the chopping block she just said “When I find him I won’t fail this time.” The queen had no idea that the man she failed to execute practiced black magic and was about to turn the queens own reign of terror against her.

One night while the queen was sleeping and a fierce storm was pounding on the castle walls she awoke by voices saying “Off with your head!” followed by an eerie laugh. The queen said “Is this some kind of a joke?” The voice said “No queen we are here to take your head.” The queen started to get a little frightened and summoned her henchmen, but the storm was so fierce her yells would go unnoticed because of the castle walls. Moments later the room was filled with floating severed heads from the men that lost their heads to the evil queen. The severed heads were glowing bright green. The queen started screaming and pleaded for the heads to leave her alone, but they got closer and closer until they surrounded her head. Then one of the severed heads bit chunks of flesh from her neck while she screamed in agony. After a few more bites her head was severed clean off her shoulders and her head rolled off her shoulders onto the floor next to her bed. The severed heads then vanished into thin air.

When morning came the queen’s henchmen came into her room to tell her that she was needed in the courtyard for an execution, but the queen would no longer be attending anymore executions because she was dead. The henchmen combed the castle and grounds, but found no trace of her killer because the person responsible for the queen’s death was nowhere near the castle when her death took place. The man who she had on the chopping block that cheated death twice used his black magic to put an end to the queen’s reign of terror.

Since the queen was no more and there was no replacement for her the castle went to ruins, but the queen’s “Off with their heads” saying never left the minds of the people that once lived in fear of losing their heads.

Legend has it that anyone that gazes upon the ruins of the castle can hear and see ghosts inside the castle windows and especially on windy nights if you enter the courtyard you can see ghostly figures carrying out an execution of men on the guillotine. If I were you and you happen on this ghostly place on a windy night you might want to leave immediately because there have been reports that some of curious onlookers have been escorted by the queen’s ghostly henchmen to the guillotine as they plead for their lives and seeing and hearing the queen say “Off with their heads.”
