I want to thank my wife for standing with me in ministry. Without her love and support, none of this would have been possible. I also want to thank Pastor Jonathan Steeper, Pastor Mark Hillis, Pastor Daniel Jalbert and Thomas Gibson for their friendship, godly counsel and encouragement to me. Their counsel and wisdom in the Things of God has been a resource to me which I will forever hold dear in my heart. I also want to thank Pastor James Sparling for his friendship, love and willingness to obey the Lord’s calling on his life in shepherding God’s People. Both James and his wife, Helen, are true examples of what it means to take up our cross to follow Jesus. Last but not least, I praise God most of all for my mother; a woman who’s prayed me through many a times! Mom, you’re the greatest example of what it means to know Christ and the power of His resurrection!

Disclaimer: The following report on false teacher, Tony Scholten, concerns dealings with him many, many many years ago. While Mr. Scholten is still currently a false teacher with a penchant for heresy, the things I describe below are not recent in any way, shape or form. I provide you with the following testimony as a means to know exactly how dangerous false teachers are. Lastly, you will note a hint of sarcasm in this testimony; this is deliberate.

If you’re a Charismatic Believer in Moncton, NB, you know who I’m referring to. He’s the cigarette smelling hyper Charismatic with a storied past. I won’t get into his personal failings as it’s not my place, yet suffice it to say that this man is one of the most heretically dangerous men in Moncton and I want to share some of my experiences dealing with this mentally unstable man.

As a young man, I was full of heresy myself; I praise God that I was delivered from my own self delusion and deception by the mighty Power of the Holy Ghost! At one time, and I’m speaking here of many many years ago, I was hyper Charismatic/Extreme Word of Faith. I held to blasphemous doctrines concerning Christ being “Born Again” (a classic teaching in WOF circles) and other heresies such as the “man is a little god” doctrine, etc. being so full of pride and wickedness, I was easily led astray and satan took advantage of this by sending various individuals into my life to lead me even further astray.

Tony Scholten was one such individual. Here are some encounters I’ve had with Mr. Scholten in the past. As he is still currently a Hyper Charismatic lunatic, I feel it a necessity to warn young Believers who may be reading my blog. I pray that no one is taken in by this spiritual lunatic. I’d call him a false teacher but he’s far too entertaining to hold that title. I liken him more to a circus act than anything else.

1- Tony Scholten believed (he may still teach it!) that Christians could have demons in them. As a result, he once had me in his car to take me to his home to perform a deliverance on me. Granted, I agreed to it. He asked me while I was in the backseat of his car if I had smoked pot. I didn’t… and that was just a very strange question to ask me. He then gave a stern warning to me that if I was lying to him I was lying to the Holy Spirit. I wasn’t known as a pot smoker by anyone..ever; so it was quite odd that he’d ask me that. He accepted my answer and we proceeded to his home. Once there… it turned into a criminal offence. He had a deliverance manual written by Benny Hinn and he was going through it, commanding demons to leave me. At this time, he had some other individuals at the house; false prophetess Lynne Leger, Pastor Gerry Leblanc and some others. I wanted to leave so I said so. He told everyone that I didn’t “really” want to leave; that a “lying spirit” was actually speaking through me. He then asked that no one let me out and people stood near his doorway, to prevent me from leaving. I was a teenager, now trapped in a “deliverance session” with adults who were determined to make sure the demons in me wouldn’t be able to allow me to leave his home. I knew that false prophetess Lynne Leger did not agree with what Tony was doing and saying; it was written all over her face. Tony insisted that it was the “lying spirit” speaking through me, saying I wanted to leave. What a great excuse to keep a kid in a room against his will. Tony Scholten knows how to manipulate people … and he certainly manipulated those in the room that day! I previously suffered panic attacks and was told that they were demons inside of me. After this encounter with Tony Scholten, I suffered greater panic attacks. I saw a professional and they made it very clear that Tony Scholten committed a criminal offence and that this was not the first time they heard of such behaviour in the city. I am not sure if the mental health professional was speaking of Tony specifically or not. I have never pursued anything in regard to this encounter in a legal sense. The Lord delivered me of all of this many years ago and today I stand free. While this very post may appear to some as an attack, it’s anything “but” an attack. It’s a warning to others. If I wanted to “get” Tony Scholten I’d go to the RCMP. I have no such offence in my heart to do such a thing. I do, however, feel it necessary to warn those who may come into contact with this spiritual nutcase.

2- Another encounter I had with Tony was at a local assembly. I walked over to him to let him know I forgave him. He acted nice, kind and polite and asked me if he could pray for me. I obliged. He took me to the front of the church (lunatics love to be seen by men!) and started to blow on me… Benny Hinn style. Of course I felt nothing but rotten coffee breath on me. Tony Scholten feels that within his breath is the breath of God. In reality? His breathe contains two milk and two sugar from the coffee he drinks. Not to mention the cigarette smoke.

3- On another occasion, My. Scholten did the whole “I’m your father” speel on me, in front of the Heritage Court building in Moncton. He looked me in the eyes and said he was being my father “by proxy” and asked my forgiveness. It was a bit…awkward, to say the least. My father was a good father. Tony Scholten couldn’t measure up to half the man of integrity my dad is in the natural. Dad was good to us… so for Tony Scholten to play my dad via proxy was nothing more than nonsense.

4- Mr. Scholten was in my mom’s driveway years ago while myself, a friend and that friend’s friend were also there. One of the individuals present, a young teenager, had a brain tumour. Tony Scholten declared that the tumour would be healed and proceeded to stand far away from the teenager and then blew on him… Benny Hinn style once again. LOL! Did healing take place? You figure it out. Of course not. The larger issue? This teenager was not a Christian… and Tony Scholten’s ridiculous cigarette filled breath certainly didn’t promote the cause of Christ that day.

The above are but short story experiences I have had with Tony Scholten. I could go into greater detail but I simply don’t want to give “that much” time to blogging about a man who’s clearly a nutcase. His theology is hyper Charismania; he blows on people with the most disgusting cigarette breath imaginable and while he’s accepted in some Charismatic circles, his very own church friends are as weirded out by him as I am. Tony Scholten is a man who sips down copious amounts of coffee and smokes copious amounts of cigarettes while claiming to have God’s breath in his lungs. If that’s not your first clue in why you should stay away from this guy, nothing else I say will make any difference.

Tony Scholten is a spiritual con man; plain and simple. If you’re looking for a man who’s got no problem claiming we’re all free while being bound to cigarettes and bad breath… then by all means align yourself with him. If, however, you want to remain in the truth, stay away.

This isn’t at all to say that Tony Scholten is a mean guy… because he’s not. At least not to your face. He’s kind, smiles alot (while puffing happily away) and I have no doubt he’s nice enough to buy you your very own pack of Export A’s. He’s that nice! Which is why he can suck people in who don’t know better. Careful! Tony will blow on you between cigarette puffs and before you know… you got yourself cancer from second hand smoke. lol.

In all seriousness… I caution any and all reading this to be very careful around Tony Scholten. He’s a spiritually dangerous man. Be kind to him; pray for him, cook for him… whatever. But don’t submit to him or heed any of his spiritually poisonous nonsense.
