PREFACE

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom” says the age old book. Gaining the right wisdom is greatly emphasized through out this book and right wisdom is to know your Maker and have a strong relationship with Him. The aim of this book therefore is to encourage a relationship with Jesus Christ and intimate walk with the Holy Spirit.

There are two angles to this. As an unbeliever there is no excuse for you NOT to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior which means that if you fail to accept him you do not love yourself and that negates God’s purpose in your life to make you His building and temple and for you to achieve your God ordained purpose on earth.

As a believer, if you refuse to get serious with the Kingdom Call. You are living your life as it pleases you, not according to the directives of the Holy Spirit and because of this, you cannot show proofs as a bonafide child of God should.

What do we stand to gain if we fail to accept a gift as great as Jesus Christ?

If you think of your salvation in terms of eternity; that your soul will never die; that you live as God lives because you were created in His image and likeness, that knowledge should be gripping enough to make you do all it takes to save your soul from damnation.

Do not become your own worse enemy. I encourage you to choose rather to spend that length of time in heaven by making that wise decision today.

INTRODUCTION

The current trend in Christendom is alarming. We have become born again check. We have a measure of faith, check. We are spirit filled, check or are we? But our Bibles are gathering dust somewhere in the corner. For many, claiming the born again status means little or nothing to them, it’s just the new fashion code, the ‘in thing’ as it were, something some people need to say to have a sense of belonging in their churches and society today, some hide behind it to continue in their sinful ways.

It appears the lights are still on, everything may seem perfect with them but something is fundamentally dead, the spiritual connection is non functional. Little wonder then that things are not working the way they should and they will turn around to blame it on witchcraft. No evil power can stand a true Christian.

How do we hope to get the Christian walk in step with how God wants it for our lives when we are treating it with levity?

I would like to see a generation of youths, young boys and girls loving God with unwavering faith even in times when no one is watching or things are not going right. I would like to raise a breed of young people that do not play to the gallery or put up an act to serve God but sincerely loving God with deep rooted loyalty borne out of gratitude for what God has done for them, giving themselves selflessly in pursuit of kingdom goals. Kingdom minded generation of youths afire for Christ.

This book, it is Cooler to be in Christ is an eye opener to the tricks of the enemy as he seeks to keep people in bondage of sin and despair. The message in this book is about a father who loves his children so dearly and wants them back to him desperately.

Every person is a carrier of potentials, gifts, and great destinies waiting for manifestations. You cannot manifest if you are not connected to the Water of life, springing out from the very throne of God and of the Lamb. You have to be connected to Christ, the Holy Spirit, to have the required direction for your life’s journey, to bear good fruits and be all that God intended for you to become.

Therefore getting connected to God is the most urgent need for the world today and in fact for all times!

CHAPTER ONE -BEING BORN AGAIN

Why should I be in Christ?

Have you ever wondered why you need to be a true child of God, a born again, Holy Spirit filled Christian?

Being in Christ is a necessity: A vital step you must take to enjoy life and take full possession of your inheritance, not only just accepting Christ but doing that early is important. Without this step, man cannot be at peace with his Creator.

As a young person, what type of future do you want for yourself starting right now? Your answer to that question will determine how your future takes shape. The best way to predict your future is to CREATE that future. The right time to start is NOW. As a young person, you are in a vantage position to begin creating your future with Christ which is the ONLY RIGHT WAY.

In John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

The Bible makes us to understand in Proverbs 22:6 that it is very good to train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it; in other words, starting your life with Jesus Christ early in your youthful days will help you to avoid many of the pitfalls that life will bring and then you will be able to arrive at your destiny early which is also a very important assignment that you must accomplish before you die. Every man has a mandated task from God to accomplish, and ignorance of this truth does not exonerate you from being liable. I strongly recommend that you do not waste your youthful age without a basic knowledge of your mission on earth. This is because every man must give account of his life and stewardship on earth as God has vowed that he will require it from man. Important that you read Romans 14:12 and Ephesians 2: 10.

Jesus answered Nicodemus in John 3:5-7 “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying “You must be born again.”

The above words are directly from Jesus Christ and that tells us how very vital it is that we all obey this command. Jesus Christ was telling Nicodemus and all of us now that being born of water means total acceptance of God’s words into one’s life, which has power to cleanse one from every filthiness and sinful nature. The water represents the Word of God (Jesus Christ) Revelations 19:13, 16 and the Spirit represents the Holy Spirit which Jesus promised to give those who implicitly obey God’s command.

In Psalm 119:9 we read, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your Word.”

Jesus Christ was talking about spiritual re-birth through obedience in God’s words. For a man’s way to be clean and pure before God; he must sincerely apply God’s words to his personal life daily. The Spirit birth shows the presence of the Holy Spirit in one’s life teaching and bringing to remembrance God’s words to the believer for understanding of kingdom principles and lifestyle.

Now let’s take a look at some portions of the bible underscoring the need for you to read, study and meditate on the word of God.

Joshua 1: 8 says “this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shall meditate(think about it constantly) therein day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shall make thy way prosperous, and then thou shall have good success.”

A deeper analysis of the above Scripture talks about wisdom, fear, being courageous and confident and links every aspect mentioned together let’s take a look:

Self esteem is the act of estimating one self, in other words, to dignify and have respect for self. The quality of being worthy of self respect or esteem.

Confidence on the other hand is the state of being assured; firm persuasion; having full confidence or trust, freedom from doubt and uncertainty, having firmness of mind, steadiness and courage. To affirm with confidence, to declare in a positive manner, as in certainty of asserting the truth.

Self esteem and confidence go hand in hand. You cannot be confident without having self esteem. You have to first of all be sure of yourself, what you are doing and that brings self esteem. When we know about something we can speak about that thing with confidence, you become bold and daring because you have assurance of knowledge.

Self Esteem and Confidence in the Context of Achieving Life’s Missions

Self esteem and confidence is crucial to achieving our targets, goals, missions in life. Success in anything we are to do require that we commit, make efforts, be disciplined and be motivated. Anything outside of this is planning to fail. When you are sure of yourself and you have all that it takes for you to succeed you will not compromise or cut corners.

Principles of God For Handling Your Life’s Missions

The principles of God for handling your life’s mission can be found in Joshua 1: 8. These principles defy location, country in which you operate, they are valid everywhere you go. Your creator wants obedience beyond your achievements; do not cut corners in your pursuit of success. God is interested in how you gain success. He knows the days you have not stepped into and your today, he knows you, your environment, circumstances and he has come to direct you so it will only be smart for you to accept the guidance of God because he knows what will come against you.

Your Maker, Creator has left in his words principles that you can use to have good success in achieving your life’s missions. If you read James 3: 17 you will understand how needful it is to apply the principle of wisdom to achieving your missions in life. It does not matter whether you are serving a good or bad boss, serve him well in wisdom, it does not matter what circumstances you are facing in life, apply understanding and wisdom. Read further Judges 6: 12-14

Definitions of Key Words

Courage: is the ability to do something dangerous or to face pain or opposition without showing fear in other words, bravery and with it comes determination.

Bravery: A person willing to do things which are difficult, dangerous or painful, not afraid. An action requiring courage, e.g. brave decision

Determination: The quality that makes you continue trying to do something even when this is difficult. Showing courage and determination to accomplish a task.

Strong: What God means when he says ‘strong’ is that a person should be difficult to be destroyed by any force or person or attack. Apart from the regular meaning of having plenty of physical power, God wants his people to be very powerful, having a lot of influence in riches and difficult to resist or for people to fight against or defeat, in order for them to succeed. For us to be strong, become a formidable force, what are the required qualities or straits?

In Proverbs 24: 3-6 we find

Wisdom: You build your house (which is your life), mission or dream by wisdom and a wise man has great power and is influential. The type of wisdom required is first of all pure, then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.

Understanding: You established your house, mission or dream by understanding. Check also Proverbs 21: 16

Knowledge: If you have knowledge, you increase your strength, you fill your house with rare and beautiful treasures

Live a prayerful life: stay connected to your source of power. If you want to wage war or attack life properly, you need guidance from the Holy Spirit

Be ‘Word’ rich- study and meditate, in order words, make the necessary efforts and commitment

Application of knowledge by taking action: Right Application of right knowledge is wisdom. You are strong (wise) first before you are courageous because being strong equips you to be courageous. It prepares you for the next step. God said these words three times within the same Chapter that shows how important and key this is for us as Christians to succeed. Remember, strong means becoming a formidable force that you cannot be defeated by any force, which means wisdom makes you a formidable force.

The bible portion went on to say in verse 9 “be neither afraid nor dismayed.” To be afraid is to fear; to be dismayed means your heart is failing you over a matter you are so frightened about. And God says, do not be overcome or overwhelmed with fear. You do not need it in your pursuit of good success. Fear is the weapon of the enemy to paralyze your potential. The only fear Christians are allowed to have is the fear of the Lord which is the starting point of wisdom.

God’s Presence is the Ultimate

To conclude the matter, God’s presence in your life is a very important factor in achieving your life’s missions, goals and dreams. You start having his presence when you fear God, because he will release wisdom upon your life. All the above mentioned items lead you to one thing- having God intervene in your affairs. Bible’s strong personalities such as Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David and Gideon, who succeed in their time and in their missions, had God’s constant presence which enabled them to succeed. You too can take a cue from that.

The way to cancel a mistake is by being good and Godly. Cancel your ancestral or foundational mistakes by taking a decision to accept Jesus Christ

The word of God has power. In Jeremiah 23:29 we read, is not my word like a fire, says the Lord; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” These are direct words from the Almighty God.

Please understand child of God that your mighty weapon for navigating this life successfully is in the word of God. The bible is your life’s manual so fall in love with it.

CHAPTER TW0 -HOW COOL IS BEING IN CHRIST?

Has it ever occurred to you for one moment that being in Christ is the coolest, most sensible decision you would ever take in life? Let me give you some valuable information to make you understand better.

Before the fall in the Garden of Eden man enjoyed the following:

Man was created with the life of God in him.

Man was a spirit, soul and body as the trinity i.e., God the father, Son and Holy Spirit

Man was subject only to the law of life and superior to the law of death

Man had constant fellowship with God

Man was highly spiritual

Man was peaceful, confident and bold

Man had access to the wisdom of God

Man was king over the earth.

Supporting Bible portions: Genesis 2:15, Genesis 1: 26, Genesis 3:4

Listed above are the benefits that man enjoyed from being close to God at the beginning when the first Adam was created; one of which was that man was highly spiritual. It is the spirit that controls the physical and man was able to control his physical realm because he was truly spiritual. The fruits of the spirit man as contained in Galatians 5: 22-23 are Love, Joy, peace, longsuffering (endurance), temperance (self control), gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness against such there is no Law. Man’s spirit, soul and body worked in total unity and agreement with God. Man was able to work at full capacity without let or hindrance. He was limitless in the power he could wield to do things; he worked mostly in the supernatural. But he lost all benefits and power to that old serpent when he yielded to temptation. The situation of man after the fall was that:

Man lost fellowship and right standing with God.

The law of sin and death set in and this brought both spiritual and physical death

Man became mortal

Man took on the devil’s nature, man became sin and servant to the devil

Man became rebellious and a hater of God.

Man lost a life of love and received hatred and revenge

Man lost his spirit and he became carnal, his five senses now dominated the things of the spirit i.e., he fell from the spiritual to the physical

Supporting Bible portions: Romans 8:2, Romans 5:12-13, Ephesians 2:2, Romans 11: 32, John 12:37-40, Isaiah 48:22, Romans 6:6, 12 &16, Romans 8: 6-8, 1 Corinthians 2:14

Why the new birth?

Romans 10:8-10 says “for the word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart. That is, the word of faith which we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

What the above Bible portion is saying in real sense is that there is no need to go far looking for salvation. It within speaking distance, in your mouth and your heart. All that is required is for you to BELIEVE to be JUSTIFIED and CONFESS to be SAVED. Salvation of the spirit has been made so simple. You do not need to work for it but only to accept the finished work of Christ by faith and confession. This is what grace is all about.

There are two types of salvation, one of spirit and the other your soul. The spirit salvation is free. The soul salvation is not free, you must work out your soul salvation with fear and trembling: Philippians 2:12-15. You must pay a price for you to secure it. Those that will endure to the end will enter the kingdom. This explains why we still struggle with sin and that when we say that we have received Christ it does not seem as though you can overcome sin physically. But you are truly an over comer spiritually but you need to enforce your spiritual power physically, you need to learn how to do that perfectly: Obedience to God’s command, walking in love, practicing true religion constantly. You have to take a stand and daily decide to walk with Christ.

What is Grace? Grace is a free gift from God, it is undeserved favour shown to guilty sinners like you and me. The reason why we have grace is because Christ died for us. Grace does not see our own worthiness or works. No human efforts can bring us salvation. Romans 11:6, Ephesians 2:8-9

Grace means that we are made righteous through faith in Jesus Christ instead of our observing the law and this grace is available to everyone. Titus 2:11-12, Romans 3:21-23

Without the new birth in Christ Jesus, man’s life is meaningless and there is no way of escape from the evil attacks of the devil in this world that we live in and man will face damnation in hell. Read the following Bible portions for clearer understanding. Colossians 3:10, Psalm 107:20, John 1:1-14.

Isaiah 30: 1-5 says, “Woe to the obstinate children declares the Lord, to those who carry out plans that are not mine, forming an alliance, but not by my spirit, heaping sin upon sin; who go down to Egypt without consulting me, who look for help to Pharoah’s protection, to Egypt’s shade for refuge. But Pharoah’s protection will be to your shame, Egypt’s shade will bring you disgrace. Though they have officials in Zoan and their envoys have arrived in Hanes, everyone will be put to shame, because of a people useless to them who bring neither help nor advantage but only shame and disgrace.”

If we are trusting in other means outside the provision of God for our help and salvation which is Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit then we know what awaits us. Shame and disgrace, life becomes a fruitless effort.

The Bible says in 2Timothy 3:7 “Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Also in Act 28: 25 this is greatly emphasized. “For those whose hearts have become calloused, they will ever be learning but never understanding…”

How sad because this curse is on those who do not accept Jesus Christ and trample on God’s gift of grace and salvation through their disobedience.

The new birth avails you of many benefits that you simply cannot afford to lose out. So what really happened at new birth?

.Jesus took your place. Romans 6:20. Jesus shed his own blood instead of yours. He offered himself as a sacrifice for you to be free as if you never sinned. Hebrews 9:11

All that you lost because of the fall is now restored unto you through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ

You are recreated in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:10. 2Corinthians 5:17

You are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ and by redemption you have the following:

You are absolutely free from the bondage of Satan. Colossians 1:13, Colossians 2: 12-15.

You are now God’s property 1Peter 1: 18-19

You are purchased out of the world’s system – Revelations 3:9-10

The old nature of the devil gives way to the new nature of God. 2Corinthians 5:21

Because Christ lives you live also

There is no more condemnation for man as long as you continue to live in Christ. Romans 8:1-2

You are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Ephesians 1:20-21

You have access to the father. Ephesians 2:18

You become God’s habitation. Ephesians 2:19-22

You have the righteousness of God and this righteousness is by faith in Jesus Christ. Romans7:4-6

You can stand before God and call him Abba, father without fear.

You are made in the image of Jesus Christ. When God looks at you, He sees Jesus Christ.

You are justified and you have made peace with God. Romans 8:30.

What’s more? We still have many benefits and weapons available for the true believer which makes us reign as kings and priests in life to the glory of God.

God’s love over your life

“But God demonstrated his own love towards us in that while we still sinners, Christ died for us”. Romans 5:8

“Greater love has no man than this than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15: 13.

In the scriptures we are commanded to love, for God is love. It is the greatest commandment given to man that fulfills all laws, when we love God and our fellow human beings in all sincerity of purpose.

You have the Power and Authority

Contrary to what the devil would have you believe, you are indeed the hottest and coolest person on the block. You have the latest swag because of your life in Christ Jesus; it is a swag that does not go out of fashion. You have power, and the devil can not tamper with you if you know how to wield your weapons.

Colossians 2: 9-10 says “for in Christ, all the fullness of the Godhead lives in bodily form and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.”

Reading up that portion to verse 15 unveils the magnitude of that power we have in Christ. Should you not, child of God be happy to flaunt that power to the glory of God?

The Supremacy of Jesus Christ

Christ’s supremacy cannot be rivaled by any principality or power, rulers of this dark world anywhere in the entire universe.

Colossians 1:15-23 says, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, for by him, all things were created; things in heaven and on earth; visible and invisible, whether thrones, or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”

Hello! Are you still there? Or you have been blown away by these absolutely incredible credentials of our Lord Jesus Christ? You know what, Jesus Christ is truly who he is. There is totally no falsehood about him. You can go to sleep on that knowledge with your two eyes closed! Jesus himself said in Mathew 28:18, “all power has been given to me in heaven and on earth.”

Secret Wisdom from the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 2: 6-16 says, “…No, we speak of God’s secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understand it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him. But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God for who among men knows the thoughts of man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment: For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”

The Holy Spirit is received once you believe in Jesus Christ and Jesus did invite us directly in John 7: 37b -38 saying, “if any man thirsts let him come unto me and drink. He that believes on me as the scripture had said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

It is not by blanking out that the Holy Spirit comes upon you, it is a gift that comes through a simple act of obedience which is believing in Jesus Christ as the Scripture said. If you read verse 39 of that portion, rivers of living water means the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and confidant; he will direct us into all truths if we allow Him. The Holy Spirit is the Administrator of the trinity and we are in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit in the world currently. He is the true helper of all believers in Christ Jesus.

Human language is far limited to describe who God is. God’s greatness can not be measured, His personality cannot be fathomed, no word can say exactly the magnitude of God’s power, faithfulness, love, wisdom and mighty acts, no man can understand and no word can begin to define the extent of God’s capabilities. God began himself. All of God’s attributes are limitless; they are without end. God’s lifetime is eternity. God is an enigma. So you have been created in God’s image and likeness. Wow! Read Genesis 1:26-27. Please understand your worth and do not let the devil trample on you. God went to great lengths to reconcile you back to Himself; you cannot allow all that to go to waste just because of ignorance.

Your service to God should be in total grateful recognition of what He has done for you. He restored your spiritual standing by Christ’s death! Know that you are not doing God a favour by serving Him and obeying his commandments. What that will do for you is so that your life turns out well and you arrive at your expected end here on earth and move into eternity with assurance. Jeremiah 29:11. We have many examples in the Bible: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Joseph, Esther, Ruth, Mary, Job, etc. There are many blessings in serving God, the ultimate is that you will live your life with Christ forever in the coming age if you endure to the end. We have a loving God, ever willing to share his goodness with us but are we willing to receive this immeasurable goodness? The above Bible portions confirm this, remember, No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him. The blessing is to those who love God first! You cannot chose death and Satan over a loving God who is life. By choosing Satan and living recklessly, you have chosen death and whom you are obeying –the Devil and all of the consequences that step will bring.

In his book, Your Roadmap for Success, John C Maxwell defined success as “knowing my purpose in life, growing to my maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefits others.” He also stated: “It’s difficult to do the second and third parts of that equation if you don’t have the first one settled, which is why it is so important to start looking for your life’s purpose as early in your career as possible.” And I add, knowing your God, aligning yourself with the Word of God and embracing the Holy Spirit will help you arrive at your purpose in life early enough and that begins and completes the equation.

Weapons of Warfare Available to Believers

2 Corinthians 10:3-6 says, “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that set itself against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.”

In explaining the above, I am borrowing what Gloria Copeland said in her book: God’s Will for You is Prosperity. Our weapons are not carnal! Our weapons are not limited to what is common to man. Satan is limited and can bring no temptation or trial against you that is not common to man. The weapons of Satan’s arsenal are limited, but we are not limited to what is common to man. The weapons of our warfare are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds. We have God’s power behind us. Whose strongholds are these that our weapons are so powerful in pulling down? Satan’s! While Satan is limited in his attack against you, you are backed by the power of God; and all that Satan can do does not begin to task God’s ability and power. Because of Satan’s attack you have the opportunity to prove that the word of God is forever true by standing on God’s word and defeating Satan! For Satan to get anywhere with you in temptation, he has to first draw you away from God’s words. James 1:6. If you refuse to fear that God’s word will not work, you give Satan nothing to work with. He has to have your cooperation, your consent. If you are faithful and steadfast in God’s Words you can be happy when you fall into temptations. James 1:2. They will not affect you.

The war is not in the flesh, the thoughts and imaginations are in the mind. The mind is scripturally called the soul. The soul of man is his mind, his will and his emotions. Satan’s warfare against us is in the soul realm through the mind, will and emotions; Satan attacks other areas of your life. The mind is where the door to Satan is opened or shut.”

Armour of God

Ephesians 6:10-18. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to these, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”

Reading through the foregone scripture, it becomes clear that God has fully equipped all true born again Christians with all the armors that they need to withstand the devil and his attacks.

Abundant prosperity through giving

2 Corinthians 9:7-12 says, “Everyone must make up his own mind as to how much he should give. Do not force anyone to give more than he really wants to, for cheerful givers are the ones God prizes.” God’s calling upon your life is not to suffer as it were because he makes a way of escape for all the temptations that will come upon you and he delivers you from every affliction; Read Psalms 34: 17-20 to get a full grasps he calls you to enter his rest and he calls you to abundant life John 10:10. God is happy that you prosper. His kingdom shall be expanded through prosperity of course there is need for you child of God to be in prosperity; otherwise you become a misfit in the Kingdom of God.

God gives you power to get wealth. But God checks your motives for wanting that wealth. If the motive is not right, it might be delayed until the motive is right. I am a strong advocate for having wealth to help humanity, to transform destinies, to impact lives and to propagate the gospel of Christ. If these do not come in your list as part of your reasons for wanting to be wealthy, then you may have to wait some more. Your prosperity should be so that you can cater for your needs and also have enough to spare for others and to do what is needful in God’s kingdom. There are destinies attached to your life and until you stand in your place of destiny, you may not be able to help those attached to you. It therefore becomes expedient that you find God’s kind of wealth; one that endures and where else can you find that; if not in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 92: 12-14 says, “the righteous shall flourish like the Palm tree. He shall grow like a Cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruits in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.”

Wow, what a life of flourishing the righteous has! The Palm tree is an important valuable tree, there is no part of the palm tree that is not useful or valuable. Cedar is a tall evergreen tree, with wide spreading branches, and the hard red wood of the tree has a sweet smell. Please read up on the benefits of Palm and Cedar trees in your own time.

CHAPTER THREE -KNOW YOUR ENEMY

Fear, Illiteracy, poverty and ignorance have become the bane of the world. The devil is at the forefront of this agenda. He has used these tricks to keep people in captivity for so long and now light has come. One of the reasons for this book is to throw light on some of the major tricks of the enemy and in that way discourage people, especially our young ones from continuing to believe in that lie.

Our Situation in the World today

The following words of an unknown writer, aptly describes the current situation in our world.

“We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences but less time, we have more degrees but less common sense, more information but less knowledge and less wisdom, we have experts, but more problems, more medicine but less wellness. We spend too recklessly; laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry too quickly, stay up too late, read too little, watch too much television and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions but reduced our values. We talk too much and listen less, love too little and lie too often, we have learned how to make a living but not a life; we have added years to life but not life to years, we have taller buildings but no security, wider freeways but narrower viewpoints, we spend more but have less, we buy more but enjoy less, we have all been to the moon and back but have trouble crossing the streets to meet our neighbours. We have conquered outer space, but not inner space, we have split the atom but not our prejudices. We have higher incomes but no morals to spend on what’s needful. We have built more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies but less communication.

We are long on quantity but less on quality. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, more food and less nutrition, two incomes but more divorces, fancier homes but broken homes.”

We have lost focus on what’s really important which is that a life with Christ is coolest, sweetest and surest.

The Devil, your enemy walks to and fro like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour. 1Pet 5:8. Satan confirmed this himself in Job 1:7. Be knowledgeable about things generally. Have a genuine hunger for good knowledge and learn to apply what you have learned correctly. Wisdom is the correct and skillful application of acquired knowledge. It is the ability to do the right thing at the right time. Another word for wisdom is skill. Get the correct skill to do things well. Ask God for Wisdom. Proverbs 2:6.

You must know who you are dealing with. Know your adversary- the devil; he has a stealing, killing and maiming ministry and he uses tricks and your ignorance to achieve his purpose. Emphasis on ignorance- the devil capitalizes so much on the ignorance of many to deal with them and the devil really craves that you remain ignorant and if possible, he will do anything to make you stay ignorant forever. For example, being a true born again Christian is to your advantage, you are not doing God any favours by accepting Christ and the sooner you realize that and do so, the better for your life and destiny. So break free from the deadly claws of ignorance- seek knowledge and find wisdom so you can stay an over comer in life. Get all the information you need to work with. Evil really do thrive in secrecy. When the light of knowledge shines bright and wisdom is applied, darkness and evil are defeated.

There is a time in my life that God showed me a dream. In that dream, I was being dragged by someone to be shown an incident and I was hiding to watch the scene of that incident as they unfolded. In that dream, I saw a queue of people waiting to be slaughtered. As I stood there watching and trembling because of the horrible scene before me, people were being marched into a grinding machine one after the other and these people seemed as if there was no way of escape for them; they looked like zombies. There was a very mean man who stood over the grinding machine; his work was to turn the handle of the grinder to grind each person as they enter the machine. This dream was so scary. This is how it is with people who are not in Christ; they are like the people in my dream waiting for the next slaughter.

The Enemy’s Names and Nature

Names from where I hail means a lot. People give their children names based on the circumstances or their fate around the time of the child’s birth. Names have spiritual significance, sometimes names come as a direct revelation of who God is sending to us just like in Bible times when there was a revelation about the names that the child born of a virgin will be called.

Presented below are excerpts from the book: Satan No Myth written by J. Oswald Sanders, Principal, Christian Leaders Training College in Papua, New Guinea to drive home the points about who the devil is. Oswald has done a marvelous work in highlighting in deep detail those hidden evil traits of Satan not readily noticed and I would strongly recommend that you get a copy of this book to understand deeply what the devil is about in your life. Satan no myth is a must read for all true believers.

Oswald says, “It is a characteristic of the Scripture that one of the methods of God’s self revelation to his creatures is in the names used of him. There is a surprising variety of names used to describe the Holy Trinity. In his book: The Wonderful names of our Wonderful Lord, T. C. Horton lists no fewer than three hundred and sixty-five names. Each of these names reveals a fresh aspect of God’s character or of His relations with men. God’s revelation of himself through his names is progressive and cumulative and gradually unfolds his personality, character and attributes. In the same way, are the nature, character and activities of the Devil progressively unfolded through the names and titles used of him. At least thirty names are used to delineate his person and to describe his work. The following names are those of the enemy and he does act out all his names but in very subtle ways. (Words in italics mine)

Satan means adversary, opponent, the name in Hebrew is mainly reserved for the devil. Read 1kings 11:14, 23. He is always represented as the adversary of God and man; he is seen as the prosecuting counsel bringing the charge against Job, the loyal servant of God. He is also seen as the hinderer of God’s purposes. 1 Thess 2:18. The name Satan occurs fifty-six times in the Bible.

The devil. This name is derived from the Hebrew word meaning ‘hairy’. The name devil means slanderer, traducer and malignant accuser. It was the term used as a paid informer. It was the devil who tempted Jesus Christ in the wilderness. In Eden, he slandered God to Eve smearing His integrity and casting doubts on the reality of God’s love. He slandered Job to God, saying that job’s professed loyalty for God was as a result of the preferential treatment job was enjoying from God. The Devil is never happy until he can reproduce his own characteristic in the child of God by influencing one Christian to slander another. Nothing breaks the unity of the spirit like this subtle and sinister tactic of the enemy and nothing should be more avoided by the Christian. The name is recorded thirty-five times in the scriptures.

Beelzebub. In the Old Testament, Beelzebub appears as the god of the Philistines of Ekron. It was this god whom Ahaziah sought to consult see 2Kings1:2, 16. He reappears in the New Testament as Beelzebub and is described as the prince of demons see Matthew 12:24. The name means, Lord of flies, a concept which has caused him to be termed as a ‘genius who presides over corruption’ the most suitable description of one of Satan’s major activities. The Devil corrupts everything he touches; he corrupts personal life by encouraging the new morality, though this is false. He corrupts social life by inciting men and women to drunkenness, debauchery, sexual perverseness, and drug taking. He corrupts political life through bribery and insincerity. He corrupts Christian doctrine by introducing doctrine of demons. His malignant and corrupt influence invades all human thought and action. In the light of this we should evaluate the seriousness and blasphemy laid against our Lord Jesus Christ, that he exorcised demons by the power of Beelzebub, for Jesus identified Beelzebub with Satan, we are also given some insight into the nature of the sin that never has forgiveness. Mark 3:29.

The Serpent, Leviathan (the fleeing serpent). That ancient serpent, who is also Satan and the devil is described thus in Rev 12: 9. Isaiah calls him, Leviathan the fleeing serpent, the twisting serpent see Isaiah 27:1 Jesus himself used the serpent as the symbol of hypocrisy and deceit Matt 23:33. And Paul gives him similar connotation. “I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ 2Cor11:3. This name first appeared in Gen3:1. “The serpent was more subtle than any other wild creature.” In Proverbs 22:3 this word ‘subtle’ is rendered ‘prudent.’ The wisdom, with which Satan was endowed with before the fall, degenerated into craftiness and evil cunning. The Hebrew word for serpent nachash meaning ‘to hiss and to shine’ represents him as the bright, the shinning one and this would account for the fact that Eve was not repelled by his approach. In the ancient world and also in the modern world, the serpent is a symbol of worship. Whatever the nature that was possessed by the Devil appeared so attractive and so natural in its approach that it aroused neither fear nor suspicion in Eve and that made her downfall so easy to achieve.

Murderer. It was non other than Our Lord Jesus Christ who gave the Devil this title: You are of your father the Devil,’ He said to the Jews, and your will is to do your father’s desires: He was a murderer from the beginning and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. John 8:44. ‘You seek to kill me,’ Jesus charged them. You do what you have heard from your father.’ John 8:37-38. From history Satan has manifested a passion to kill and destroy and our Lord Jesus Christ confirmed this devilish characteristic in his words: ‘The thief comes only to kill and destroy.’ John 10:10. The Devil showed his hand in the primal family when the first family murder was committed by Cain. Since that tragedy, murder has been endemic in the human race. The fact that this crime has reached such tremendous proportions is clear evidence of the accelerated activity of Satan at the end of the age… Scripture asserts that he will pursue his murderous course right up to the very gates of heaven Rev 17:14.

The roaring lion. It is a characteristic of the lion that it stalks its prey both stealthily and ruthlessly. So says Peter, Our adversary the Devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour 1 Pet 5:8. Like the lion too his purpose is always and only destruction. He never gives advance notice of his intentions, nor does he betray his presence until he is ready to strike. He roars after the kill, not before. In this guise, it is the aim of the adversary to strike terror in the hearts of it victims and how tragically he succeeds among those in the grip of animism! It is in this character that he launches his blitzkriegs (i.e., a sudden military attack intended to win a quick victory) on many newer churches and believers. The Toradja Church in Sulawesi, Indonesia was subject to terrible persecution from their fanatical Muslim neighbours; Christians were crucified, sewn in the skins of animals and cast into the river. Yet in spite of the worst the lion could do, the Church not only stood firm but multiplied and grew. In the last thirty years, it has quadrupled and at the time this book was written, numbers 180,000. No individual, Church or missionary society is exempt from Satan’s attentions. He is constantly on the prowl, hence Peter’s counsel, ‘Be sober, be watchful.’ He has been well called ‘sabbathless Satan’ for he is never off duty. But he skillfully adapts his tactic to suit the prey he is pursuing. To the raw pagan, his most effective role may be that of a roaring lion. To the sophisticated philosopher, he will more likely transform himself into an angel of light. 2Corinthians 11: 14. ”And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Liar. Satan can speak the truth, but our Lord implied that he is a liar even when he speaks the truth. If he does speak the truth, it is for no good purpose. All that he does is evil, sinister and false. ‘He has nothing to do with the truth, Jesus said, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature. For he is a liar and the father of lies,’ John 8: 44. Satan is the fountain of all falsehood, deceit and trickery in the world. While posing at times as the champion of divine law, he is all the time undermining it. He falsifies the truth, misrepresent it, twist it, mixes it with error and he does it so skillfully as to deceive the very elect. As the father of lies, he fosters and encourages hypocrisy, exaggeration and deceit.

The Tempter. This term is used twice in the New Testament. In the wilderness temptation of our Lord Jesus Christ, ‘The tempter came and said to him…’ Matt. 4:5. Paul employs it too. ‘I sent that I might know your faith, for fear that somehow the tempter had tempted you and that our labour would be in vain.’ 1Thess 3:5. The verb ‘to tempt’ is used in two senses in the scripture. One is neutral and means simply ‘to test’ as in the assaying and refining of gold. The other means to tempt in the sense of ‘inciting to evil.’ Trials and temptation are matters in which both God and Satan are involved. The same event may be a test and a temptation to evil, as in the case of Joseph’s temptation by Potiphar’s wife. The man of God can expect both experiences. Satan’s objective is to encompass our ruin. God’s aim is to establish us in holiness, for God incites no one to evil. James 1:13. Bishop Moule pointed out that there are parallel Hebrew and Greek words used to differentiate between the two ideas. One pair means, ‘to test with a view to separating the gold from the dross.’ They are always used in a good sense, and denote tests and trials that are sent from God. The other pair signifies, ‘to prove with a view to finding and exploiting the weak spot,’ as in a military campaign. The objective in view is usually evil. The Devil has no greater desire than to tempt and incite to sin. He did this with the celestial spirits who are called ‘his angels’ and caused them to ‘lose their first estate’ Matt. 12:24; Rev 12:7; Jude 6. He aimed to frustrate God’s purposes of grace for mankind by tempting them to abandon loyal obedience to God. The artistry of the devil is to make himself invisible in our temptation.

The Dragon. The title as applying to Satan is found in the New Testament only in the Book of Revelation. ‘Behold a great red dragon… Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they were defeated Rev 12:3,7,8. The word was used of any great monster of the land or sea, and here applies too an apocalyptic monster. To the Greeks the dragon was a fabulous and mythical creature, ferocious and frightening, and possessed of a dreadful malignant power. In the passage before us the dragon is represented as being implacably set on the destruction of the Church Rev 12:4 and is identified with the Devil and Satan Rev 12:9. Just as God is the embodiment of all that is good and holy, so the Devil is the embodiment of all that is evil and unholy. In him evil reaches its nadir. His influence for evil is all pervasive. We know that… the whole world is in the power of the evil one 1John 5:19. And the picture is as one lying unconsciously in his arms.

The Accuser of the Brethren. Ernest Renan described Satan as the ‘Malevolent Critic of Creation’, and this title supports his contention. Here is another sinister aspect of the Devil’s unceasing warfare against the Christian who desires to walk closely with God. He who is the father of lies can speak the truth when it suits his book. No matter whether false or true, he launches accusations against the believer, in order to rob him of his peace and mar his service. This stream of accusation can bring a sense of condemnation, and what is a greater hindrance to effective prayer than an accusing conscience? ‘Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and we receive from him whatsoever we ask’ 1John 3:21,22. When the Accuser confronted Martin Luther with list after list of his sins But then he turned to the Accuser and said, ‘Now write across them all, “the Blood of Jesus his son cleanses us from all sins” 1John 1:7. Here is the perfect and adequate answer to every accusation of Satan. The only one who has the right to bring a charge against us is the One against whom we have sinned. And what does He say to the penitent sinner? ‘Neither do I condemn you; go and do not sin again John 8:11. It was in the full enjoyment of divine absolution that Paul wrote: Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? Who is to condemn. Certainly not the Christ who died to put away our sins. Then let us no longer succumb to the condemnation of the Accuser, but rise up and use the sword of the Spirit as Martin Luther did.

The Prince of this world and The God of this world. …Jesus gave Satan the title of the prince or ruler of this world. ‘The prince of this world is coming’ John 14:30. Paul referred to him as the god of this world. ‘In their case, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers’ 2Cor. 4:4. The clear implication is that he heads the present godless world system. He is the ruler of a world so organized as to exclude God; a world established on the principles of selfishness and greed, and expressing itself in atheistic philosophy or unbridled violence. He is recognized as possessing the power of death Hebrew 2:14, but his ascendency is not permanent. Jesus announced, ‘Now is the judgment of this world, now shall the ruler this world be cast out’ John 22:31.

The prince of the domain of the air. ‘You once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air’ Ephesians 2:2. The question naturally arises, what is meant by ‘the air’ in this title of the Devil? Should we take it literally or figuratively? William Hendriksen discusses the question helpfully in his Ephesians, in location. He writes: ‘If therefore, according to the consistent doctrine of Scripture, the evil spirits must be somewhere, but not in the heaven of the redeemed, and if in this present age they cannot be restricted to hell, is it so strange that Ephe 2:2 speaks about the prince of the domain of the air”? Is it not rather natural that the prince of evil is able, as far as God in his overruling providence permits, to carry on his sinister work by sending his legions to our globe and its surrounding atmosphere? ‘Does not Eph. 6:12 (The spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places) point in this same general direction? This passage in conjunction with others, clearly teaches that God has tenanted the supermundane realm with innumerable hosts, and that in its lower region the minions of Satan are engaged in their destructive missions?

We have considered the significance of fourteen of the thirty names and titles applied to the Devil, and a clear and consistent picture emerges.

When J.B, Phillips, the Bible translator was telling a T.V, audience of the effect which his immersion in the Gospels in the course of his translation work had had on him, he said, it resulted in the emergence of a Figure so much greater than man, that I could only gasp incredulously. In the incarnation, the incredible humility of God struck me with overwhelming awe.’ As we have pondered the significance of the Devil’s names, what kind of picture has emerged?

The Ape of God. It was St. Augustine who called the Devil ‘Simius Dei’, the ape, the imitator of God. This well founded conception finds support in Paul’s warning in 2 Corinthians 11:13,14 ‘Such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.’

In Revelation 13:11 John writes, ‘Then I saw another beast which rose out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon.’ The identity of the beast is clear from the context. The dragon apes the Lamb. So does Satan imitate God. He sets up his own religious system in imitation of Christianity.

Satan has his own trinity – The Devil, the beast and the false prophets Rev. 16:13.

He has his own church – the ‘synagogue of Satan’ Rev 2:9.

He has his own ministers – ‘ministers of Satan’ 2Cor 11:14-15.

He has formulated his own system of theology – ‘doctrines of demons’ 1Tim4:1.

He has established his own sacrificial system. ‘What pagans sacrifice, they offer to demons’ 1Cor 10:20.

He has his own communion service – ‘the cup of demons and the table of demons’ 1 Cor 10:20-21.

His ministers proclaim his own gospel – another gospel, contrary to that which we preach to you’ Gal.1:7-8.

He has his own throne Rev. 13:2 and his own worshippers Rev.13:4

So Satan has made a very thorough imitation of Christianity, viewed as a system of religion. It is in his role as the imitator of God that he inspires false Christs, self-constituted Messiahs: Matt 24:4,5. He employs false teachers who are specialists in his theology to bring in ‘destructive heresies, even denying the Master who taught them’ 2Peter 2:1. They are adept at mixing truth with error in such proportions as to make the error palatable. They carry on their teaching surreptitiously and often anonymously. He sends out false prophets. Many false prophets will arise and lead them astray’ Matt 24:11. He insinuates false brethren into the Church, who slip in to spy out our freedom… that they might bring us into bondage’ Gal 2:4. He sponsors false apostles who imitate the true 2 Cor 11:13 It has been well said that ‘all that which the Lord does well, he caricatures badly or in evil.’

A startling Contrast

The Characteristics and nature of the Devil are strikingly seen when he and his activities are contrasted with the Holy Spirit and His gracious ministries. He is the antithesis of the Holy Spirit in every way. The Holy Spirit, a real person, was sent by the Father and the Son to regenerate and sanctify God’s people and to equip them for God’s service. Satan, also a real person, is implacably committed to drawing men away from God and His Salvation, and to thwarting the progress of the gospel of Christ. Hear the testimony of Scripture:

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. The Devil is the spirit of error.

1John 4:6.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth. The Devil is the father of lies

John 14:17 and John 8:44.

The Holy Spirit is the life-giving Spirit. The Devil was a murderer from the beginning.

1 Cor 15:45 and John 8:44

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of holiness. The Devil is the author of evil.

Rom 1:4 and Matt 6:13

The Holy Spirit is likened to a harmless dove. The Devil is likened to a subtle serpent.

Matt.3:16; Rev 12:9.

The Holy Spirit is our Helper. The Devil is our Adversary.

Rom 8:26; 1Pet 5:8

The Holy Spirit is our Advocate. The Devil is a slanderer.

John 14:16; Job 1:9-11

The Devil is the strong man armed. The Holy Spirit is the stronger than he.

Luke 11:21,22

The Holy Spirit gives men utterance. The Devil makes men dumb.

Acts 2:4; Mark 9:17.

Satan has been totally exposed!

God is constantly declaring who he is. He says I am that I am, I am Jehovah, I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, etc. but the devil says “he is nobody” because he intends to twist and imitate the truth. The devil’s proof that he exists, acts and succeeds lies in his ability to disguise in many forms all the time. A vast majority of people do not believe in the devil anymore and that gives him more power because he does not want you to know he is behind all the atrocities in your life. The devil is regarded as the second most powerful being in the universe.

What the devil gives are counterfeits. He does not give you anything he will not collect back. With one hand the devil gives and takes back 100 fold with the other hand. The devil operates without any form of mercy. But our Living God is full of mercy. In 2 Corinthians1:3 we read thus: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.” “For as the heavens are above the earth so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him. But the mercy of God is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him and His righteousness to children’s children.”Psalm 103:11. 17. Still on God’s mercies please read Lamentation 3:22, 23.

God’s gifts to man are without repentance and there are no sorrows added. The Bible says even while we were still sinners, God demonstrated his love and Christ died for us. Christ is our example in the way we should give. Undeserving as we are he died, regardless. I urge you to show genuine love for people, give regardless but be led by the Spirit of God to do whatever it is you are doing, man ought to seek divine direction in whatever steps he takes in life especially because of the times in which we live.

CHAPTER FOUR -GUARD YOUR PRICELESS PEARL

Your priceless pearl is the salvation of your soul.

Mathew 7:6 says “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces”

After you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, you will need to protect your soul from be taken again, guide your heart with all due diligence.

Colossians 1:9-14 says, “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way; bearing fruits in every good work growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

God has qualified you already to receive your inheritance; He needs no other qualification of earthly value for you to belong to his kingdom, you should appreciate that and do all that is necessary to have and maintain it.

Do Not Become a Swine or Dog

A swine cannot appreciate a pearl; he does not appreciate the value of such a gift because he rubbishes it in the dirt. Also, a dog will always go back to its vomit. You need to appreciate the priceless jewel of salvation by being steadfast and growing in your faith.

Work out your salvation with fear and trembling, Philippians 2:12-15, that’s what the Bible says, so that you begin to show proofs of your salvation – walking in the miraculous; so that you do not fall by the way side and so that by your example others may be won to Christ.

1peter 2:9-10 tells us how much value we have in Christ: “We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that we should show forth the praises of him who hath called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. Which in time past were not a people but are now a people of God: Which had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”

2Corinthians 6:1-2 says, “As God’s fellow workers, we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain for he says, in the time of my favour, I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favour, now is the time of salvation”. You will need to maintain your salvation by doing the following:

Study and meditate on the word of God; Joshua 1: 8. The word of God is light. Hebrew 4:12 says it so powerfully. If the word of God is living inside you, it means that God is living inside you. The word of God is the key to growth and development because it enables you to have faith and you cannot grow without faith in God. The Bible says, it is impossible to please God without faith. The word of God is packaged to provide solution to every problem of life. All you need to do is locate the word that solves your problem and meditate on it over that problem. And to maximize the benefit of God’s word you must

Get a full Bible. Develop an organized way of studying the books of the Bible. Fast and read it, pray over every revealed word as you are led by the Holy Spirit. You can read a chapter or two in a day. Also study Bible characters.

Meditate on the word. I cannot over emphasis the importance of meditating on the word of God: It allows the word to dwell richly in you. Meditation is the process of thinking deeply on the word of God until it becomes a driving force stirring you to action. Carry the word, think deeply on the word and believe the word and you can never go wrong doing so.

Renew your mind. Romans 12:2 says “and be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable, perfect will of God.”

Our minds must be cleansed of all the negative baggage we have carried since we were born and replaced with positives such as anointed messages i.e., preaching and anointed tapes from proven men of God. Man is the one to control those things he allows into his mind to enable his mind to function at full capacity in these areas – think/meditate, reason, research, creativity and imagination. Thoughts emanating from God will always have purity, goodness, peace and alignment with God’s words. Thoughts from the devil will always be impure, wicked, full of violence and misinterpretations of God’s words. As earlier said, all battles are fought and won in the mind. You have power to transform your life by the things that fills up your mind and what you say. You are the one with the power, not the devil. He has been stripped of all power. Col 2:15. Every time the devil wants to attack you, he has to trick you into saying words contrary to what God’s words say about you and your situation for him to have access to you. All that the devil has are tricks/wiles and these cannot work unless the devil has your cooperation by the words you speak at any time over your life. Satan is bound by the law that says you can have whatever you say in Mark 11:22-26.

Pray without ceasing- 1 Thess 5:17. Luke 18:1 Men ought to pray and not faint. Life will not give you what you deserve but what you fight for on your knees in prayer. Satan does not play fair and life is certainly not fair. It is wisdom to live a prayerful life. You need an understanding to trade in the Christianity market. You need secret wisdom to win as a Christian in the spiritual battles and for those victories to manifest in your life physically; you must be constantly and effectively praying to have secret wisdom because God works with secret wisdom and great understanding. Proverbs 24: 3-6. Everything God gives to man he must monitor in prayer. When you are not praying Child of God, you give that time away to the Devil. I reiterate, you can only overcome the end time battles with fervent and constant prayers. Please read James 5:15-18.

Have the Spirit of Joy. Rejoice evermore. 1 Thess 5:16. Finally brethren rejoice in the Lord. Phil 3:1. Isaiah 30:29-31 tells us that we have access to God’s voice to aid us in battle. God fights earnestly when we praise him and are joyful before him always. Destiny fulfillment is at risk without Joy. Happiness is short-lived but joy is eternal. Joy enables us to hand over our battles to God. Psalm 118:15

Give a testimony of your salvation to others. This will show that you believe and what you believe becomes your lifestyle. The Bible says “And they overcame by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelations 12:11.

In Isaiah 52:7 we read thus: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace, that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation, that says unto Zion, thy God reigns.”

Preaching the good news is a direct command from our Lord Jesus Christ, read Mark 16: 15-16 and Luke 24:46-47. The importance of carrying out this order is found in Romans 10:11-15.

The summary of the Christian walk can be found in the following Bible passages. Open your Bible and take your time to read the following portions.

1 John 3:21-24;

Colossians 2:2-3

Ecclesiastes 12:13-24

What the enemy does is to water down the word of God so that the seriousness is lessened and the impact cannot be felt, thereby blindfolding men from realizing the truth and reaching out to God. But God’s wrath is against people who have failed to recognize him as God and be thankful to him. It is a fearful thing to fall under God’s anger.

We find this greatly emphasized in Romans 1: 18-32 which says: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness since what may be known about God is plain to them because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities –his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what he has made, so that men are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God, nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claim to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God to images made to look like mortal men and birds and animals and reptiles.

Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another, they exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way, the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Furthermore, since they did not think it worth while to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind; to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things, but also approve of those who practice them.”

CHAPTER FIVE -ADMONITION TO YOUTHS

The future you aspire to capture is in the scripture. If your peers are saying it is not cool to be in Christ, let them tell you what else is cool if any. Arriving at your destiny safely and becoming a force for good is in serving God and being rooted in knowing God. Now if arriving at your destiny safely is not a strong enough reason I wonder what else is. And why do I even need to urge you? Serving God or not, does not make God any less who He is. And the only reason I can find in urging you is so that you will have no excuse when you stand before your Creator to give account of your life. This whole thing is entirely for your benefit.

Ecclesiastes 7:11-12 says “Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun (those who are alive). Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: that wisdom preserves the life of its owner.” Important that you read Proverbs 1: 23-33 and Proverbs 23: 23-24.

We will know the wisdom that is from God and the wisdom from the devil in James 3:13-18. It says who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such wisdom does not come from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.”

There is a direct word for the youths of our time in Ecclesiastes 12:1-8 and it say, ‘Remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say I find no pleasure in them. Before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark and the clouds return after the rain; when the keepers of the house tremble and the strong men stoop…” Meaning remember God before the time when you grow frail to do anything and death comes. In Ecclesiastes 11:9, this is emphasized.

Youth time is when we are so exuberant; there is so much energy and we want to try many things all at once. Everything is adventurous; we want to do the impossible and be all that we ever dreamed to be but wait and ponder! Are we headed in the right direction? There is absolutely no fun in the world. Shocked! Aren’t you? It will surprise you to know that all the supposed fun that the devil projects are really time wasting techniques to derail you from your God chosen paths. In the process of catching that wrong fun, most youths meet their sudden and untimely deaths; they fall into traps and bondages that make their lives so miserable, they miss all the great opportunities God brings their way because they are distracted and the devil ensures that they stay focused on things that are not important although those things may seem important at the time.

My sincere advice is that you have all the fun you want in Christ. You are safer that way. There are great benefits when we have youths of our time fearing and doing the will of God our Creator; that translates to blessings for the youths who obey God and makes the world a better place for all of us.

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

In closing, I will say what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1: 18-25, “for the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate. Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.”

If you have noticed, the over riding theme of this book has been the wisdom of God. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of embracing God’s wisdom in all you do because that is where life is; it will direct you to right paths of life and you will find grace to accomplish great things. And the wisdom of God is the Holy Spirit. Get your motives right. What God needs is your heart and wisdom is getting your heart right with God. There are no shortcuts; you either give your heart fully to God or nothing. There is nothing in between, there is no middle ground. Always think about your actions in terms of what God would expect you to do in any situation. God bless you richly as you obey.
