This is a collection of fiftysingle line story starters. They can be used to base a whole story on or even just to get your mind out of a rut to help your works in progress. Feel free to use these lines in any work you do, but please give credit where credit is due.
Some people only need a little inspiration to get through a bit of writers block. I think that true inspiration should be acquired when you aren’t looking too hard for it, so rather than group these story starters up into genres I have only numbered them so that it will be easier to keep your place.
1. Write about an encounter with a cross.
2. Write a poem using only the letter M as the first letter of each line or each word.
3. Transcribe a conversation from memory.
4. Describe what you think being an ant is like.
