INTRODUCTION

Hi, my name is Jan Moore and I’ve been studying and experimenting with manifestation since I came across the Law of Attraction in 2008.

I remember feeling inspired when I discovered the movie “The Secret”. It was at probably the most challenging time in my life when I was struggling with a whole host of family and personal problems. My husband was mired in negativity and unable to work because of his physical problems and we were in serious financial difficulties, deeply in debt with very little income. I was trying desperately to make a success of my business, but was weighed down by the pressure and my heart wasn’t in it. We had cashed in our few investments and were living day to day using our credit cards, trying to maintain an image of affluence and success.

The concept that we are responsible for the world we create and our outcomes was completely new to me. Like most people, I had been taught that circumstances happened ‘out there’ and I had to deal with them. But I had reached a point in my life when I felt so beaten down by circumstances that I had to find another way, a better way, of living. I was working really hard and getting nowhere. I guess a lot of people get to that point and it’s either make or break, give up or go on.

The Law of Attraction as portrayed in the movie ‘The Secret’ seemed to be the answer. Just think positively, use affirmations, visualize my dreams and create a vision board and everything I desire will magically fall into place.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work that way for me, and I know it doesn’t work that way for most people. I was working hard on keeping a positive attitude, keeping a journal, writing affirmations and doing everything I was supposed to do to make the Law of Attraction work, but I was still in debt, my husband was still miserable and sick and I was still dealing with crisis after crisis in my family.

Did I lose hope?

No!

I intuitively believed in the process. I had to discover more about how it worked and, most importantly, make it work for me.

From that point on I embarked on an amazing journey of discovery. The Universe conspired to take me on a spiritual journey and learn how manifestation really works.

I’m what you’d call a life-time learner and love to soak up new information. I also love to understand how things work and I developed my analytical skills in the 25 years I spent working in the IT industry as an analyst, designer and project manager. This gave me the perfect skills to deeply analyze the process of manifestation and test out what I’d learned so I could not only make it work for me but also teach it to other people so that they could become successful and create a prosperous life too.

So in the process, I discovered my life purpose and embarked on a new path to teach others about my findings and help them create a life of happiness, fulfillment and prosperity.

The story from then until now has been an exhilarating adventure which led me to a partnership with my new husband Bill, to life on a new continent when I moved from England to the USA to manifest the 2011 Festival of Enlightenment, and to a life of love, joy, peace and abundance.

Since 2009, Bill and I have been through the ups and downs of manifestation and our research, personal experiences and divine insights have led us to discover the hidden details of the multi-dimensional nature of manifestation and how to develop the consciousness and energy that makes it work positively and consistently.

We’ve learned how to create a life of happiness, fulfillment and prosperity, and I hope that by sharing this priceless information you too can manifest the life of your dreams.

HOW MANIFESTATION WORKS AND WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW

Manifestation happens all the time, whether you’re aware of it or not. Your thoughts and feelings affect the energy of the quantum field and create outcomes that affect every aspect of your life. That’s why it’s really important to know how manifestation works so you can make sure you create outcomes you want rather than unconsciously creating what you don’t want.

You have the power to have, be or do anything when you align heart, soul and mind. Align with your purpose and pursue it with passion and you’ll experience love, joy, peace and abundance every day.

You don’t need to know how manifestation works if you’re already creating everything you want effortlessly and joyfully. Not many people have reached that level of consciousness yet, and that’s why we’re here on this planet – to align with our powers of creation and address the factors that are limiting our level of success.

Prosperity means to flourish, thrive and be successful, not just financially but in your health and your relationships. What you’ll learn in this book can be applied to create true prosperity in every aspect of your life.

So perhaps you’re great at manifesting good health and a successful business but struggle with relationships.

You may have a great relationship but struggle with finances or have health issues.

Whatever area of your life needs to improve, once you know how manifestation works and identify what is blocking your success in those specific areas, you can consciously apply the principles and process of manifestation to shift your results from struggle to success.

In this book I’ll be sharing key points and practical tips that you can use on a daily basis to live an empowered life and enjoy lasting health, happiness and prosperity.

STEP 1: VISION, DESIRES & INTENTIONS

Setting your vision, goals and intentions is the first step in manifestation.

It may seem obvious, but unless you are clear in your own mind about what you want, the Universe can’t deliver it and you may end up with something surprisingly different! Yet how many people don’t take the time to fully describe what they want to achieve?

A Harvard Business study conducted in 1979 with MBA graduates revealed remarkable statistics relating to goal setting and success.

p<>{color:#000;}. 3% had written goals and plans to accomplish them.

The study found that the 14% who had goals were earning, on average, twice as much as the 83% without goals. The 3% with written goals were earning 10 times more than the other 97% put together.

Clearly, you are far more likely to achieve a goal if it is written down and you have a plan.

There are different schools of thought about how we should describe the desires and intentions we want to manifest. One school of thought says we should define our intention to the smallest detail, another says we should make it more general so we don’t limit the scale of the manifestation.

I was pondering this point before one of our workshops on Empowered Manifestation and was blessed with another of those intuitive downloads about how manifestation works.

Having spent over 20 years in IT, I know that one of the biggest problems in developing computer systems is when users try to dictate the solution instead of letting the experts (analysts, designers and programmers) work it out for them. They either get something that just doesn’t work or they get far less than they could have had.

It’s the same with manifestation.

Instead of describing the solution down to the smallest detail, let the expert (God/Source/Divine) know your requirements and work out the best solution for you.

By detailing your requirements you’re not only describing what you want, you’re also stating the reason why you want it so that the Universe can deliver the perfect answer to your request.

By letting the Universe guide your choices, the outcome often turns out to be far better than you expect with lots of added benefits you probably hadn’t thought of.

Alignment with Purpose

One of the key factors in empowered manifestation, which I’ll be covering later in this book, is that your intentions should be aligned with your purpose.

Actually, every desire and intention should have a purpose – and defining the purpose is what gives the Universe the space to create the perfect outcome for you.

It’s the why!

Specifying your requirements (the what and the why) allows the Universe (the ultimate architect) to design and deliver the best solution without limitations. You usually get much more when you leave the solution to the expert… in this case God/Source/Divine/Universe, and a generous one at that!

Why do I want this house?

“I want to be able to accommodate my family when they come to visit, have dinner parties for up to 10 people, have views of the mountains, a creek or river running through the property, 100 acres or more to accommodate 10 horses or more, with a barn, indoor and outdoor arena and access to public land for trail riding.”

That’s very different from saying I want ‘Paradise Ranch’ in Durango, Colorado. The Universe may have far more in store for you than you have imagined.

Unlimited Living

Robert Schuller said “make your dreams big enough for God to fit into”. In other words, don’t limit the scope of your goals and intentions.

“A Course in Miracles” states “there is no order of difficulty in miracles”. In other words, manifesting a big intention is just the same process as manifesting a small intention. Have faith, think big and you can move mountains.

T. Harv Eker in his book “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” talks about a wealth thermostat, meaning that we have a belief about the level of prosperity that is possible for us, based on our experience and upbringing. So we tend to limit our desires according to what we believe is possible, rather than what we really want. This applies not only to wealth but also to self-image, relationships and, in fact, to every aspect of life.

When you think about what you desire and set your intentions, let your imagination take over and give yourself permission to think big and without limits.

In the Universe there is unlimited abundance, so anything is possible; the only limitations are the scope of your imagination and your beliefs.

Action Step

Write down a list of things you want under the following 5 categories. Just note down the things that come easily to mind and when you’ve completed your list of desires for a category, focus on each desire and write down the reasons why you want each one. If you can’t think of anything for a particular category, just move on.

By doing this exercise you’ll focus on the things that are most important to you and launch your requests to the Universe. By understanding the reasons why you want them, you’ll also be lessening resistance to them and adding clarity and power to your thoughts and feelings.

STEP 2: MINDSET & VIBRATION

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” – Nikola Tesla

Everything in the Universe is vibrating energy and the only thing standing between you and the achievement of your dreams of unlimited prosperity is your vibration, which is the energetic representation of your thoughts and beliefs.

When you set your intention to manifest a goal, it’s really important to recognize when doubts, fears and limiting beliefs come up because that means there’s a misalignment between your thoughts and feelings, and the Universe hears what you FEEL, not what you say.

Your emotions are the indicators of your vibration and when you’re out of alignment with your desire you feel bad.

That’s why, even though you’re consciously focusing your thoughts on your goals and using affirmations and doing all the things you think you should to ensure that you get your outcome, it still doesn’t show up.

This leads to frustration which lowers your vibrational frequency even more, makes you feel even worse and so you end up on a downward spiral. You end up manifesting more of what you don’t want.

How do you clear the misalignment?

Tune into your feelings of doubt, anxiety or downright fear.

Your mind tells you what you think, your body tells you how you feel.

You might be thinking about the thing you want to manifest but if you feel uneasy, uncomfortable or literally “dread-ful”, it means your subconscious mind is out of alignment with your conscious desires and you have some core issues or opposing beliefs to deal with that are stopping your desires from manifesting. You could be holding any one of the doubts, fears and limiting beliefs in the list below, or you could be focused on not having the thing you want, which will manifest more “not having”.

When you discover you have a core issue associated with your intention, don’t beat yourself up about the fact that you’ve still got stuff to deal with or feel as though you’re never going to get the things you want.

That just makes matters worse and gets you deeper into heaviness, negative energy and low vibrational frequency.

Let me assure you that we all have issues and we’re here on this planet for the purpose of learning and growing; recognizing and addressing our issues is part of the process.

Even people who appear to have a perfect life (looking from the outside) have their own issues to deal with. It’s part of being human. When you see someone who appears to be successful in ways that you’re not, it just means that they have different challenges. So it doesn’t mean you’re lacking in some way or failing, it’s just part of your journey.

Identify the issue

What is it that you’re feeling?

Here are some examples of the common doubts, fears and limiting beliefs that stop you from manifesting your goals.

Doubts:

Did you know that at least 95% of the population has some form of self-esteem issue? I would guess that everyone experiences some degree of self-doubt at some time or another. If you don’t relate to any of these issues, that’s great! Just be on the alert when you feel uncomfortable, anxious or uneasy as it indicates some resistance to whatever you’re thinking about or focusing on.

Let go of resistance.

What you resist persists. When you focus on the problem or issue, you feed it energy and so you continue to manifest it. The more you dwell on it, the more you confirm its existence and the more it manifests. I’m sure you’ve had days when you keep thinking about a problem and it gets worse and worse in your mind until it is blown completely out of proportion. That’ because negative thoughts attract more negative thoughts and your mind gets like a runaway train – the thoughts take over and your mind is out of control.

So how can you get yourself out of this cycle and clear the issue that’s getting in your way?

Instead of feeling guilty, ashamed, embarrassed, angry, annoyed, stressed, and worried or any other negative emotion, begin by letting go of self-judgment, consciously relax and say to yourself:

“That’s interesting, this feeling of (fill in the blanks) has come up (again). I’m really grateful that I’m aware of it because now I can deal with it and resolve it.”

Go to the source

Think back to when you’ve experienced this feeling before, and the situations that triggered it. Write the story of how, why, when, where and what made you feel this way in each situation.

By acknowledging its existence you’re bringing it into the light for healing.

Just like a child who is afraid of the dark because of the fear of something imagined, once the light is turned on showing there’s nothing there and the thing feared was an illusion, so it is with your fears, doubts and beliefs – by bringing them into the light of day you begin to see that they’re just imaginary too.

Rewrite your story with the Power of Neutrality™

The Power of Neutrality means that everything is meaningless until we assign our interpretation to it. It’s not good or bad, it just is.

So that means you can choose how you want to perceive the situations that affected you negatively and choose to create a different story about yourself.

Use the Power of Neutrality to change your perception of the event.

Let me give you an example…

When I was just 5 years old in my first year at primary school in England, all the pupils were asked to take in items to be sold at the school fundraiser. I asked my mum several times if she would find me some things to take in, but on the morning they were due to be taken in to school she still hadn’t got anything ready for me.

I didn’t want to go in empty-handed so I went through my toy cupboard and got together some toys and books to take.

I happily handed over my contribution only to be told off in front of the whole school by the head teacher who said I was stupid because the books and toys I’d taken in had been crayoned or written on, so they were unsaleable.

Imagine how devastating this was for a little girl who had tried her best to do as she was asked, only to be punished and humiliated in front of all the other children. I was heart-broken, embarrassed and ashamed.

For years I carried the belief that I was stupid because of that awful experience at school. Even though I went on to get a degree and have a pretty successful career in IT, I always felt I could have achieved more if I’d had more self-confidence.

In 2009 Bill, my husband-to-be, coached me on how I could interpret this situation differently.

Bill saw a completely different story. He saw a little girl who had taken responsibility, shown initiative and taken action to complete a request from school – a demonstration of leadership and entrepreneurial qualities.

He said it wasn’t my fault that the head teacher had failed to see this.

By using the Power of Neutrality to create a different interpretation of this event I was able to let go of the heavy load that I’d been carrying all my life – a load of self-doubt and the belief that I wasn’t good enough – and see the evidence of my capability and self-reliance at a very young age.

Action Step: Create Your Own Reality

Think about all the alternative interpretations for the situations that have caused your limiting beliefs and self-doubt and rewrite them to demonstrate positive qualities. You can find a positive interpretation of any situation, even if it’s only “I was strong enough to survive and tell the tale”!

It helps to have an objective, non-judgmental observer to help you find new perspectives on your stories and you may feel more comfortable if that person isn’t part of family or social circle. That’s one of the benefits of having a coach or mentor who can work through these issues with you and help you find the answers.

Change the “I can’t” to “I can”, change “impossible” to “possible”, change “not good enough” to “good enough”, “brave enough”, “talented enough”, “strong enough” etc. and use the positive spin on the most impactful story to anchor the belief.

Remember Your Triumphs

We all have moments of doubt. It means we’re trying something new or wanting to move to the next level in our life and work. The important thing is not to let doubt stop you.

If I feel doubt creeping up on me I remind myself of all the times I have been good enough, all the great things people have said about me, the times I’ve managed to do something I thought was impossible, or when I’ve managed to do something that I thought would be really hard.

“Believing is seeing” (conscious creation) and “seeing is believing” (proof of creation) are both true…

When you have belief in yourself and in the possibility of achieving your goal, the Universe creates the opportunities and synchronicities to make it happen.

When you have a moment of feeling doubt or fear, remember the times when you achieved a goal, no matter how small, in spite of feeling anxious or afraid.

See the situation in your mind’s eye. Visualizing relives your experiences as if they are happening now, and your brain will register the experience and create a new belief based on this experience. It is undeniable evidence that your doubt, fear or limiting beliefs are just an illusion with no power and that you can conquer them, as you’ve conquered many challenges before.

Rinse and Repeat

You can use this technique each time you feel the presence of a fear, doubt or limiting belief. Make it part of your daily routine for the ones that are surfacing frequently and you’ll retrain your brain, creating a new empowered belief system that supports you in achieving your goals.

STEP 3: LETTING GO & ALLOWING

Letting go can be one of the hardest aspects of manifestation to master because when you have a strong desire for something you tend to want to control how it comes to you.

Think about the things that you manifest easily. You have an idea and then it happens without any real effort on your part. That’s because you have no inner resistance to having whatever it is. There are no limiting beliefs, doubts or fears attached to your idea.

If there’s a fear attached to what you’re wishing for, your mind will keep obsessing on working out how it’s going to happen because you don’t really believe it’s possible.

The ‘letting go’ aspect of manifestation is like placing an order in a restaurant.

You choose what you want from the menu and give your order to the server to take to the staff in the kitchen. You trust that all the ingredients are there, that the chef knows exactly how to put the dish together, that it will be cooked perfectly and that the meal will arrive in the right sequence in perfect timing.

You don’t summon the server over and over and repeat your order. You don’t rush into the kitchen, question how your meal is going to be cooked or if the chef has the right ingredients. If you did, you’d interfere with the whole process of delivering your delicious meal.

Manifestation works the same way. If you try and force the process or interfere with the natural sequence you can mess up the whole outcome.

“Let go, let God.”

Be patient.

Everything works in Divine timing.

You have no idea what has to be organized in order to make your desire manifest – it could involve many steps which are out of your control. There may be many interdependencies that have to be lined up in a specific sequence in order for everything to fall into place.

Relax and allow and you open the space for your desire to manifest. It isn’t your job to worry about how it happens, just like it isn’t your job to worry about cooking the meal you order in a restaurant.

Accept the situation in the present moment and that everything is as it should be.

Forcing something to happen interferes with the gathering of resources, the necessary steps and the interdependencies.

Instead, tune in your intuition to the Universal energy – sense the cog wheels turning in the process of creation and trust that everything is in progress to deliver your desired outcome.

Relax and Allow

When you think about the thing you want to manifest, pay attention to how you feel. If you want something really badly you tend to tense up and this closes the space and prevents the manifestation from happening.

Instead consciously relax and you will open up the space for the manifestation to occur. You can literally open your arms, spread them wide and imagine the object of your desire appearing in front of you in the space you’ve created.

Nature abhors a vacuum so if you create an ‘energetic’ vacuum, the universe will do what is necessary to fill it.

Action Step:

Practice relaxation and use meditation to quieten your mind. We live such busy lives that it’s easy to get out of the habit of taking time out for quiet time and we’ve forgotten how to really relax.

There are many different approaches to meditation but the simplest is just to sit in a quiet room where you won’t be interrupted and focus on your breathing. The mind can only think one thought at a time so by focusing on your breathing you are keeping your mind occupied and blocking out busy thoughts.

Just 15 minutes a day can make a difference, and with practice you’ll be able to achieve a relaxed and meditative state on demand.

There are numerous benefits to relaxation and meditation which have been well documented. According to Dr Emma Seppala, meditation:

as well as a whole host of other benefits

STEP 4 GRATITUDE

Gratitude is one of the most powerful forces in positive manifestation, because it creates a feeling of abundance.

Yet we take so much for granted and often forget to express gratitude for the blessings we already have, focusing instead on what we don’t have or what we’d like to have sometime in the future.

When you consciously cultivate gratitude in your life you are opening the doors to receiving the infinite gifts of the universe and encouraging others to do the same.

What Is Gratitude?

Gratitude is an energy, a feeling, an attitude and an emotion.

There are 4 states of gratitude:

The only state of gratitude that has the power to make a positive difference in your life is loving gratitude.

Why Gratitude is Important

Here are 10 reasons why gratitude is so important and makes the process of manifestation run smoothly.

1. Gratitude powers the Universal Cycle of Abundance.

Giving and receiving comprise the universal cycle of abundance. If you receive without feeling gratitude, you break the cycle and close the door to receiving more abundance.

2. Gratitude raises your vibrational frequency.

Your vibrational frequency determines your ability to manifest your desires. When you have a high vibrational frequency, you create positive outcomes. When you have a low vibrational frequency you create negative outcomes.

3. Gratitude attracts more giving.

When you are genuinely grateful for receiving a gift, it acts as a catalyst for more giving. If you aren’t grateful for what you’ve received, you are unlikely to get more. This applies to gifts from people and from the universe.

4. Gratitude makes you nice to be around.

Ungrateful people tend to be complainers with a victim mentality and a low vibrational frequency. Positive people don’t resonate with them. They attract other complainers who share their perceived misfortunes.

5. Gratitude is an expression of abundance consciousness.

You can’t manifest abundance if you don’t feel abundant and gratitude is an expression of abundance because it reinforces your appreciation for the abundance you already have.

6. Gratitude is a state of appreciation and appreciation also means ‘increase in value’.

When you appreciate the resources you have now, you’ll find that they will last longer, go further and do much more for you.

7. Gratitude brings joy to others.

When you express heartfelt gratitude to someone, you transmit loving energy from your heart chakra which makes the person receiving it feel great. They transmit their positive energy back to you to increase your good feelings and so you’re actively expanding the energy of love in the universe.

8. Gratitude anchors you in the present moment.

Being grateful in the present moment is the key to happiness because you are appreciating what you have NOW, rather than wishing for something you had in the past or hoping for in the future. It’s instant manifestation of love, joy, peace and abundance.

9. Gratitude keeps you positive.

Being grateful for all of life’s experiences, even those that may at first seem negative will enable you to keep a positive attitude even when things are tough. Everything happens for a good reason and when we accept situations rather than resist them we discover the hidden blessings.

10. Gratitude brings magic into your life.

When you slow down, raise your awareness and consciously look for things to be grateful for you’ll discover a world filled with magic and miracles and realize how lucky you are!

3 Ways to Show Gratitude

1. Thoughts

If you want to express gratitude to a person you don’t have to be in their presence to do it.

Thoughts are energy and just thinking grateful thoughts will transmit the energy of loving gratitude to your target.

Give thankful thoughts to the Universe/Source/Spirit/Divine when good things happen or come to you.

2. Words

Say a heartfelt thank you to express your gratitude whenever someone does something nice or helpful for you.

Thank them in person, call them on the phone, send them an email, post a thank you on their Facebook page – there are multiple ways you can express your gratitude in words.

Say a prayer of gratitude to the Universe/Source/Spirit/Divine for whatever you’re thankful for.

3. Deeds

Express your gratitude in action.

Return a favor.

Give someone a referral.

Pay it forward by doing a good deed for someone else.

Give them a hug.

Give a gift – a bunch of flowers, a box of chocolates or something you know they’ll love.

Give money – yes, paying someone is an expression of appreciation, even if it’s for something as mundane as a utility bill!

If you focus on “not having” you create more “not having” so you manifest less and less. Scarcity consciousness creates more scarcity. Gratitude is an expression of abundance consciousness and creates more abundance. Your outer world reflects your inner being.

Gratitude is the expressway to love, joy, peace and abundance and you’ll help others to experience it too when they receive your gratitude. The more you feel grateful for everything you have now, the more you’ll feel joyful and at peace, you’ll attract abundance and LOVE your life.

Action Step

Start a gratitude journal. Buy a nice notebook or journal that is a pleasure to write in. Every night before you go to bed, write a list of the things you are grateful for that day. When you consciously review the day for good things that have happened, you start to recognize the gifts that you might have otherwise overlooked or taken for granted.

Do this regularly and you’ll experience love, joy, peace and abundance and you’ll attract even more into your life. You’ll end the day with very positive vibes and the energy you go to bed with is the energy you’ll wake up with in the morning, so you’ll start the next day on a very positive note too.

When you start each day with positive energy, you’ll find more and more good things coming into your life – people, ideas, and opportunities that lead to ever increasing prosperity.

STEP 5 ATTENTION & AWARENESS

When you focus attention on your goals and desires, your thoughts feed the object of your attention with energy – the life force of creation and expansion.

It happens with problems too – when you dwell on a problem it seems to get bigger and bigger and harder to solve. That’s why it’s so important to keep your focus of attention on what you want, not on what you don’t want; on the solution, not the problem.

Give attention to your intentions by reviewing your goals morning and night.

Each morning, focus on the end goal or vision and then set your intention for the outcomes you want to achieve that day. Ideally you’ll have created a plan to follow so that you’re clear on your next steps and the tasks you want to complete that day.

Look forward in the moment to your creation, not from a place of not-having, but from a joyful anticipation of your completed manifestation.

In the book “Ask and It Is Given” by Esther and Jerry Hicks, Abraham recommends that each time you start a new task or activity you should practice ‘segment intending’. In other words, apply focused positive thoughts and feelings to each task before you start so that you’ll create a positive outcome.

Affirmations

Many Law of Attraction teachers promote affirmations as a way of giving attention to what you want to create by stating your intention as if it has already happened.

I am healthy well and fit.”

I am prosperous with unlimited abundance.”

I am in a beautiful relationship with my perfect partner.”

One of the problems with this approach is that you’re engaging the left brain logical mind which often starts an internal argument that says “but that’s not true”. If you use affirmations to try to correct a limiting belief and to convince yourself that what you desire is possible, instead of helping the manifestation you will actually increase resistance to it and push it away.

When you state an affirmation, think of how it will feel to have, be or do the thing that you are wanting as it is the feeling that has the power. It isn’t the words, it’s the energy behind the words that counts.

If you state an affirmation and feel uncomfortable or uneasy it means you’re out of alignment with your intention and the Universe hears what you FEEL, not what you say. This means you are manifesting the opposite of what you want, so only use affirmations to confirm what you already believe in.

The more effort you’re applying, usually you’re trying to overcome what is going on vibrationally with words. When you’re trying really hard, you are trying to use your words & actions & affirmations to compensate for vibrations you didn’t get started on the right foot. So feel good when you do affirmations. The Universe doesn’t hear what you say, it hears what you mean” Esther Hicks (Abraham)

The reason I have reservations about affirmations is because if you already believe in what you want to manifest, then you don’t need affirmations. So use them with care – if in doubt, don’t affirm!

Affirmations are generally used to reprogram your beliefs but there are better ways to do that without creating internal resistance. Visualization

Visualization engages the subconscious mind which can’t distinguish between reality and imagination.

Visualization engages the right brain which is the source of your creativity, emotion and imagination and in your imagination whatever you visualize happens in the present moment. Visualization is like watching a movie that you get caught up in emotionally, so it’s less likely to create resistance – you suspend disbelief.

There have been several studies carried out to test the effects of visualization. Here’s a couple of examples to show how powerful it is.

Close your eyes and imagine a nice fresh juicy lemon. You place the lemon on a cutting board and cut it into quarters. Now pick up one of the quarters, put it to your lips and suck the juice from the lemon. You can taste the sharp acidic tanginess of the juice in your mouth and your mouth starts to water.

That feels real doesn’t it? It feels like you actually had the lemon in your mouth.

Visualization is widely used in Sports Psychology.

This article at http://www.llewellyn.com/encyclopedia/article/244 cites many examples of the powerful effects of visualization on athletic performance and states that “the most effective visualization occurs when the visualizer feels and sees what he is doing.”

To get maximum benefit from visualization, imagine what you want as if you were watching a movie in ‘sensaround’ – in other words engage all the appropriate senses: sight, sound, smell, touch and taste.

Really live it – see yourself as the leading actor in the movie playing out whatever you desire.

I’ve used this technique many times for personal and business goals and desires.

Here’s one example of how it worked for me.

When I worked in corporate IT in the UK, I went for a job interview to a very large retail company. The interview was held at their head office, which is a large multi-story building, and as often happens I was asked to wait in the lobby until I was called. The lobby was a large atrium, so from where I was sitting I could see right to the top of the building and the people walking around on the upper floors.

While I was waiting I shifted my perception from a feeling of unfamiliarity with my surroundings, to imagining how it would feel to be entering the building as an employee and making my way up to the office where I worked. I was living the experience of working there, rather than the experience of being an interviewee. This was in the year 2000, several years before I discovered the Law of Attraction, so I wasn’t doing it as a way of manifesting the job, I did it to get a feel for what working there would be like and to assess whether it felt right. (Interestingly, this was before I was even aware of the power of intuition so perhaps this was my higher self at work!)

Well it worked, because a short time after the interview I was offered the job!

Another time I used this technique was when I was visiting a prospective client for my internet consulting business and again I imagined that the building felt familiar and that I had been there multiple times to visit my client. Sure enough I signed her as a client at that first meeting.

You create the reality through your feelings, and it doesn’t have to be dramatic; in fact, if you try too hard to generate enthusiasm or excitement it will feel forced rather than genuine. Instead just relax and feel what it would be like to be comfortable and ‘at home’ in the situation you desire to create.

Vision Boards

Another very popular way of keeping your attention on what you want to manifest is to create a vision board.

This can be simple or elaborate, small or large.

Your vision board can be created on a pin board, a poster board from an office or art supply store, a large sheet of construction paper, or even a scrapbook.

Here’s a photo of a vision board I created using images I found online and printed. I then cut them out and stuck them onto a poster board. I also engaged my creativity by adding words and descriptions using colored pens and pencils.

When Bill and I left England to come to the USA in 2010, we couldn’t bring our vision board with us so we made it into a vision book that we carried around with us. We had pages of pictures which we laminated and then put them into a binder that we could flip through to remind us of what we wanted to manifest.

If you decide to create a vision board, put it somewhere that you will be able to look at regularly and don’t just glance at it, give it some quality attention. Look at each picture and imagine how it will feel to be there with the object of your desire. Feel the sensation, the joy, the pleasure, the freedom, the familiarity – whatever the experience will be when you manifest that desire.

Awareness

Once you’ve sent off your order to the Universe and you’re giving attention to your desire as I’ve described, you need to develop an awareness of everything you encounter.

Everything is significant and everything happens for a reason.

Messages and opportunities come from many different directions but are often overlooked or dismissed as meaningless.

The Universe works a bit like an internet order. You place the order and you get an email to say your order has been received. Then you may get another email to say your order is being assembled or prepared for dispatch. Next you’ll be notified that it has been dispatched. Finally, the order will arrive and you’ll sign to acknowledge the delivery.

When you’re aware of the significance of people, situations and events you learn to recognize the progress reports sent by the Universe, just like the emails about the internet order.

Manifestation is like a treasure hunt. You set off on a quest and you follow the clues to get the prize at the end.

The clues may come in emails, something said in a movie, a book that comes to your attention or a person who pops into your life to give you an important message and then disappears again.

I’ve had a couple of experiences when a person I met suggested I get a particular book (“A Course in Miracles”), or introduced me to someone who could take me to the next level of understanding about the Universe (Dolores Cannon, the author and past life regression therapist) and then were never to be seen again. They came to deliver the information I needed at the time and once that role had been fulfilled there was no further need for them to be present in my life.

If I had dismissed or overlooked these messages, I’d either have delayed the result or missed out important information I needed to create my desired outcome.

Manifestation isn’t passive, it requires action, which I’ll be explaining in the next step. The messages come to guide you to take appropriate and necessary action to create the outcome you want.

Action Step

Create a vision board or book with images that illustrate your goals and intentions that you can look at every day.

Start a regular routine of visualizing your intentions every night just before you go to sleep. Doing this will create excitement and raise your vibrational frequency which will be carried over into the next day. It will also get your powerful subconscious mind and higher self working on the manifestation of your desires while you sleep.

STEP 6 INSPIRED ACTION

Motivational speakers talk a lot about action; take massive action… action, action, action. This implies that you must take action non-stop. Just do something towards your goal.

The empowered person knows that it is inspired action that counts.

Why?

Because inspired action works with the most powerful partner – the Universe – in perfect synchronicity.

What Is Inspired Action?

The difference between inspired action and conventional action is that inspired action is based on intuition and conventional action is based on logic.

When you take inspired action it may seem illogical at the time but you are working in synchronicity with the Divine Plan where things don’t work in our human linear view of direct cause and effect.

The dictionary definition of synchronicity is:

“the coincidental occurrence of events that seem related but are not explained by conventional mechanisms of causality —used especially in the psychology of C. G. Jung”.

Speaking of Einstein, he was a firm believer in the power of intuition, inspiration and imagination.

I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution. It is, strictly speaking, a real factor in scientific research.

We tend to think of scientific breakthroughs as being based wholly on logic, but those Eureka moments come from ‘Divine Inspiration’, otherwise known as universal intelligence or the quantum field.

I used to rely exclusively on logic and didn’t consider my intuition to have any bearing on what I should do. I’m not sure I was even aware of my intuition most of the time. I was trained as an analyst and logic ruled!

Then my life changed dramatically in 2009 after some major personal problems that made my life unbearable. This was the Universe’s way of telling me I was taking the wrong direction and needed to align with my purpose, although I didn’t know it at the time.

I had a choice to make to either continue down the path of so-called ‘security and responsibility’ and stay miserable, or take a leap of faith and go in a completely different direction – into the unknown.

Logic said, “be sensible, stick with the safe choice” but I just KNEW I had to go with the flow and follow the new path that was being laid out before me. I followed my intuition, took a leap of faith and here I am today with my husband Bill, being true to my purpose, doing what I love and enjoying a journey filled with incredible quantum adventures.

Inspired action is also dependent on having a clear intention or outcome in mind, as we covered in Step 1, and is an essential element in manifesting that outcome.

A vague wish will not have sufficient focus and energy to connect with the universal intelligence that is the source of our inspiration. The outcome doesn’t have to be a BIG VISION; the process works on every level, big and small as long as you have clarity and focus.

Why Is Inspired Action So Important?

Positive thoughts + positive feelings + inspired action = positive outcome

As humans we tend to think in linear terms but in the Universe everything is interconnected.

Each of us is here for a specific purpose and we are working in collaboration with the Universe, our higher self and other people, whether we are conscious of it or not. Everyone we encounter and everything we experience is significant and part of the Divine Plan.

Imagine a complex project plan with tasks, resource allocations and interdependencies. If something happens out of sequence, it affects the whole plan by altering or delaying the outcome. The synchronicity is disrupted.

By living your purpose, you are playing your part in the delivery of the Divine Plan and by following Universal Laws you stay in alignment with the plan.

When you take inspired action you are working in harmony with your inner guide and the Universe and allowing everything to unfold in perfect timing to deliver the desired outcome.

When you focus on taking action for the sake of action you risk disrupting the sequence and jeopardizing the outcome by forcing things to happen within your time frame, unaware of the BIG picture.

Our purpose is not just about DOING, it is also about BEING and so the Universe often takes us on the ‘scenic route’ to deliver perfect situations to facilitate our spiritual growth as well as giving us the knowledge and experience we need to achieve our outcomes.

You know, if we went everywhere on the fastest route to get to our destination as quickly as possible we’d miss the delightful little towns along the way, we’d miss the chance conversations with lovely people and miss the joy of the journey in every present moment. Life is about enjoying the journey, not just getting from cradle to grave as quickly as possible!

The route we take might seem illogical to us and sometimes our experiences seem to be taking us away from our goals rather than towards them, but in hindsight they always turn out to be essential steps that delivered incredible benefits.

So, how does this work in practice?

How to Take Inspired Action

The first step is to tune into your intuition.

We all have intuition but some people are more naturally attuned to it than others. For many years I ignored my intuition and didn’t even acknowledge its existence.

Once I consciously started to tune into my intuition, after the experience I’ve just described, I learnt to pay close attention to it because it was when I ignored intuition and talked myself into a logical approach that things went wrong.

Here’s the thing, we all experience intuition in different ways. You may hear voices, you may see visions, ideas might pop into your head, and then there’s the feeling that something is right or wrong.

You can develop your intuition by consciously focusing on opening yourself up to receive those Divine messages. If I’m looking for answers I tend to focus on the area of the crown chakra at the top of the head and the third eye, in the center of the forehead between the eyebrows. Imagine you are opening a door to the Universe and allowing space for messages and ideas to enter your consciousness.

I also focus on my heart chakra and assess whether I feel comfortable or uneasy about the choice I’m making. If I feel uneasy I make a different choice or, if I’m uncertain about what to do, I wait until a definite answer comes to me.

Taking inspired action means acting on the right ideas that are aligned with your vision and purpose. So it’s important to test out your ideas to determine whether they feel right or not.

At this point, don’t be surprised if your logic kicks in and your brain either comes up with every reason why your idea won’t work, is ridiculous, impossible etc., or conversely that you should do something even if you feel in your heart that it’s the wrong thing to do.

Put those thoughts out of your mind immediately.

Tune back in to your feelings and energy, and you’ll start to recognize what feels right and follow your heart.

Intuition depends on developing a high level of awareness – a consciousness – of the thoughts in your head, of the significance of the people you meet, of experiences you have, of messages that present themselves in an email, on a billboard. As I said earlier, everything is significant and the Universe uses many different messengers to communicate with you.

If you’re feeling stuck, ask questions directed at your inner guide and the Universe. Then wait for the answer and be on the lookout for messages from the most unlikely places. If you don’t yet know the answer, do nothing. The Universe will deliver it at the perfect time for you to take the required action.

When you tune into your intuition and take inspired action, your life becomes a fun and exciting treasure hunt, following the next clue then the next and enjoying magical experiences along the way. Miracles do happen but you have to look out for them – many go unnoticed because people just don’t believe in them.

Believing is seeing – not the other way around!

Taking inspired action ensures you are working in alignment with the Divine Plan and following the path that will fulfill both your life purpose and your soul purpose. The Universe is supporting you every step of the way.

Logic has a place too, but it should be the backup to your intuition, not the leader of your choices. Recognize your inspired ideas and Divine inspiration to determine WHAT action to take and then use your logic to determine HOW to carry it out.

Action Step

Download the action sheet from the Empowered Manifestation Bonus Page and for each of your goals write down the first step you can take to move you towards your desired outcome.

When you do this exercise, sit somewhere quiet where you won’t be interrupted and let your intuition do the work. Don’t overthink it because then you’ll be putting logic in the driving seat, just relax and allow ideas to pop into your head. If an idea doesn’t come to you about a particular goal, just move on to the next. If you get several ideas about a goal, write them all down; you don’t have to limit yourself to just one.

Keep an ideas notebook with you at all times so you can capture ideas as they come to you, otherwise you’re likely to forget them and miss an opportunity. You can either use a physical notebook, or record ideas on your smartphone or tablet. The important thing is don’t just write them down but act on them. An idea not acted upon is useless!

STEP 7 GIVING & RECEIVING

Giving is an active demonstration of abundance consciousness and trusting that you always have enough.

It is not what you give or the amount of the gift that’s important, it’s the spirit in which it is given that determines its value and power.

“A Course in Miracles” says that giving and receiving are the same, which I must say took me a while to get my head around. Once the penny dropped it made perfect sense.

When you give to someone you receive the joy of giving and (in most cases) gratitude from the recipient of your gift. When you receive you give gratitude in return. Giving and receiving are indivisible as the Universal cycle of life.

The money system is a great example of this and the misunderstanding of the monetary cycle is the reason why people get stuck in scarcity thinking which pushes away their financial prosperity.

Trade is a cycle of giving and receiving.

I provide a service and you give payment in return. Yet how many people are happy to take the service but begrudge paying for it. Utility bills are a perfect example of this. People bemoan the fact that they have to pay their bills and take for granted the services they are receiving. We may complain about paying our electricity and water bills but we’re very quick to complain when we don’t have them.

Giving and receiving is linked to Step 4 – Gratitude. I quoted Dr. Wayne Dyer who said

You can only manifest what you already are.”

Eckhart Tolle puts it slightly differently saying

You can only manifest what you already have.”

If you give with love, generously and fearlessly, you are demonstrating abundance consciousness and the Universe will give you more of what you have.

So next time you have to pay your bills, give the money with gratitude for the product or service have received and appreciate the fact that you have the abundance to pay your bills.

Like everything in the Universe, giving and receiving is a cycle. If you resist giving because you believe you don’t have enough to give, you break the cycle of giving and receiving and you manifest a continuance of “not enough”.

Lack or scarcity is a mindset and if you feel you are struggling financially it can be very difficult to change this. When you are struggling financially, giving money feels absolutely counter-intuitive and can be terrifying, because you fear that if you give money away that you’ll be even less able to pay your bills. Yet there are many examples of people who have said that giving money, even when they were in the worst financial position, brought them the opportunities that got them out of the dire financial straits they were in.

Edwene Gaines in “The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity: A Simple Guide to Unlimited Abundance” claims that tithing (giving 1/10th of your income to the source of your spiritual nourishment) was how, as a single parent (who couldn’t even afford to feed her daughter), she lifted herself out of poverty.

Robert Allen, a real estate millionaire who had to declare bankruptcy in 1996, also says in his book “The Challenge” that tithing helped to turn his fortunes around and got him back into a position of financial abundance.

There are quotes in the Bible with a similar message:

Give and it shall be given unto you.”

He that soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”

Giving is an act of love. It opens the space for receiving and gets you into a state of having rather than not having.

We’re taught that if we don’t have very much of something we have to hold on to it tightly or we’ll lose it, yet the Laws of the Universe work in a completely opposite way.

Even in Star Wars, Princess Leah says “The more you tighten your grip, the more (star systems) will slip through your fingers”.

The Bible says:

Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.” – Matthew 13:12

I used to think this was really unjust until I understood what it meant.

Anyone who has an abundance consciousness will be given more. Anyone who is in a state of lack will experience more lack and manifest losing what they currently have.

An inability or unwillingness to give indicates a state of lack and no matter how much you desire more abundance in your life, your state of being will prevent you from manifesting it.

The secret is to give whatever it is that you most desire to have or have more of. If it is money, give money. If it is time, give your time. If you desire a loving relationship, give love.

Like everything in the Universe, there has to be a balance between giving and receiving. Give what feels right in your heart and be open to receive.

Be Open to Receiving

You may have an inner resistance to receiving for a number of reasons. You may feel unworthy or undeserving (if so, go back to Step 2 and review the mindset section). You may feel that you have to struggle in order to obtain the things you desire.

None of this is true. The Universe is abundant and we’re all meant to live an abundant life.

Much of the indoctrination we receive beginning in childhood creates a belief system that other people are more deserving than we are, encouraging us to give everything away to others.

The motto “It is better to give than to receive” may be deeply ingrained in your subconscious which means you give, give, give and don’t allow yourself to receive.

You may believe that you have to work really, really hard to receive “rewards”. If things seem to come too easily, you push them away.

Do you refuse gifts, saying “No, I couldn’t possibly accept that” or “No, you shouldn’t have”?

When you refuse to accept you break the Universal cycle of giving and receiving and confirm your belief that you are unworthy to receive.

Taking is very different from receiving. Taking is leaving the other person without, while receiving has a softer energy that says both the giver and the receiver benefit from the exchange.

Being open to receiving may take practice if you have a tendency to refuse gifts. Those gifts may not be material or monetary. They may be in the form of help, support and love.

Receiving is an act of love just as giving is an act of love. If you refuse to accept a gift you are depriving the giver of the joy of giving and depriving yourself of the joy of receiving. Much better to receive with gratitude because by doing so you are not only getting the benefit of the gift, you are also sending a message that you are open to receiving all the abundance that the Universe can provide.

Action Step

Practice giving. If you feel a resistance to giving because you have a fear of being without, start small with gifts that feel comfortable. Give your gift to a person or a cause that you truly value so that the energy behind the gift is of genuine appreciation, expecting nothing in return.

Practice receiving. Instead of pushing gifts away, receive them with open arms and express gratitude with sincerity. Even expressing gratitude for receiving something as simple as a compliment, or someone opening a door for you sends a positive message to the universe that you are ready to receive and establishes the habit of receiving.
