Dyslexia
A curse or a blessing
Another way of looking at the world
Limitations within my world
In youth not a real problem but an excuse
No explanation of its truth
Little known then
School grades in the trash bin
My numbers didn’t roll
My sentences didn’t flow
No teachers involved
No help from others as I evolved
Within my mind all made sense
Numbers adding up
Sentences perfectly flowed from my lips
All of my visual information clicked
But when others got involved
Laughing at words misspelled
Sentences worded wrong that smelled
No one to understand as I tell
So forward alone I move
Developing a system only I knew
Double and triple checking my numbers to be true
Using a calculator to be correct not blue
Words today still look wrong
Even when others sing them in a song
Laid in type or script into the spell checker they go for a dip
Returning a correction so my grammar doesn’t slip
Still today I cannot write a short story or a book
My focus is out of sort
My words are flipped
Though I have the perfect thought in order
In my real world it rains chaos of shit
So today I write dyslexic poetry
Short as possible not to lose my point
Less words to invert
Less frustration so I don’t go berserk
So please keep in mind reading my dyslexic poetry
To you it might not make sense
Feel free to rearrange my words
Don’t complain you knew what I meant
So now my dyslexia temporarily fixed
Enter my world of A.D.D. another one of God’s gift
Now I am losing my focus
Inside my magical brain I say hocus pocus
Returning to my starting point again almost in focus
