QUOTE

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.” Marcus Tullius Cicero, 58 B.C. Speech in the Roman Senate

Introduction

Many, if not everyone, have heard the term or the concept of ‘tribulation.’ And when we hear that word we ordinarily think of hardship and discomforting times. Historically there have been many times of hardship and struggle for personal survival; often from warfare, famine, and pestilence. Those tragedies of the past ordinarily resulted from natural disasters or from unplanned events such as warfare. Never in history, however, have these periods of tribulation and hardship been forecast and prophesied centuries before they occurred. This new tribulation, the one prophesied in the Bible, is one that takes a different approach. It’s something that will happen as a result of purposeful evil from Satan, not from some unusual but normal event.

This tribulation period will result from a direct action by an Islamic nation to destroy Israel. This attack, both nuclear and conventional, will create such havoc on sea lanes and other transportation sources that a great shortage of supplies, produce, and products will result. Although Revelation speaks of ships and the ocean, this was written before Apostle John could even imagine such things as trucks and highways. To John, these transportation vehicles were all ‘ships at sea.’ The new and sudden attack on Israel, probably by Iran, will cease world trade to cross-feed many necessary items. And there are many examples. The overview is suggested in Revelation 18, Verse 11:

“And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more.” It continues in Verses 14-18:

“And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, and saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! For in one hour so great riches is come to naught. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off. And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying What city is like unto this great city!”

This great city written of here is that great Babylon. In Revelation, Babylon represents the world religion of Islam. Likely, the two colors identified in the paragraph above, purple and scarlet, represent the wealth source of Islam, which is oil. Those two colors are associated with the color amber. Amber is the natural color of oil. When John wrote Revelation, he had no idea what to call oil. He saw only the colors of the substance. Therefore, this writing would suggest that oil would not flow onto the world markets during this time of major battles in the Middle East. The tribulation will result from the lack of production and shipping produce and products on the world market. The following information suggests the consequences – the tribulation that follows.

Chapter 1

Interpretations

Before we get in-depth, let’s first consider a view of tribulation presented by Wikipedia:

“In the futurist view of Christian eschatology, the Tribulation is a relatively short period of time where everyone will experience worldwide hardships, disasters, famine, war, pain, and suffering, which will wipe out more than 75% of all life on the earth before the Second Coming takes place. Some Pretribulationists believe that those who choose to follow God will be raptured before the tribulation, and thus escape it.

According to Dispensationalists who hold the futurist view, the Tribulation is thought to occur before the Second Coming of Jesus and during the End Times. In this view the Tribulation will last seven prophetic Hebrew years (lasting 360 days each) in all but the Great Tribulation will be the second half of the Tribulation period (see Matt 24:15 and Matt 24:21 showing the Great Tribulation is after the Abomination of Desolation, which marks the midpoint of the Tribulation).

In this view, this seven-year period is considered to be the final week of Daniel’s Prophecy of Seventy Weeks, found in Daniel chapter 9. It is theorized that each week represents seven years, with the timetable beginning from Artaxerxes’ order to rebuild the Second Temple in Jerusalem. After seven weeks and 62 weeks, the prophecy says that the messiah will be “cut off”, which is taken to correspond to the death of Christ. This is seen as creating a break of indeterminate length in the timeline, with one week remaining to be fulfilled.

The time period for these beliefs is also based on other passages: in the book of Daniel, “time, times, and half a time,” interpreted as “a year, two years, and half a year,” and the Book of Revelation, “a thousand two hundred and threescore days” and “forty and two months” (the prophetic month averaging 30 days, hence 1260/30 = 42 months or 3.5 years). The 1290 days of Daniel 12:11, (rather than the 1260 days of Revelation 11:3), is thought to be the result of either a simple intercalary leap month adjustment, or due to further calculations related to the prophecy, or due to an intermediate stage of time that is to prepare the world for the beginning of the millennial reign.

Events

Among Futurists there are differing views about what will happen to Christians during the Tribulation:

Pretribulationists believe that all Christians (dead and alive) will be taken bodily up to Heaven (called the rapture) before the Tribulation begins. According to this belief, every true Christian that has ever existed throughout the course of the entire Christian era will be instantaneously transformed into a perfect resurrected body, and will thus escape the trials of the Tribulation. Those who become Christians after the rapture will live through (or perish during) the Tribulation. After the Tribulation, Christ will return to establish his Millennial Kingdom.

Prewrath Tribulationists believe the Rapture will occur during the tribulation, halfway through or after, but before the seven bowls of the wrath of God.

Midtribulationists believe that the Rapture will occur halfway through the Tribulation, but before the worst part of it occurs. The seven-year period is divided into halves—the “beginning of sorrows” and the “great tribulation”.

Posttribulationists believe that Christians will not be taken up into Heaven, but will be received or gathered by Christ into the Kingdom of God on earth at the end of the Tribulation.

In pretribulationism and midtribulationism, the rapture and the Second Coming of Christ are separate events, while in post-tribulationism the two events are identical or simultaneous. Another feature of the pre- and mid-tribulation beliefs is the idea that after the rapture, Christ will return for a third time (when also counting the first coming) to set up his kingdom on the earth.

Some, including many Roman Catholic theologians, do not believe in a “time of trouble” period as usually described by tribulationists, but rather that there will be a near utopian period led by the Antichrist.”

This next interpretation or idea about the Tribulation is from Christianity.about.com. It’s titled ‘What is the Tribulation? What Does the Bible Say About an End Times Tribulation Period?’

“Recent world events, especially in the Middle East have many Christians studying the Bible for an understanding of end times events. This look at “What is the Tribulation?” is just the beginning of our study of the Bible and what it says about the end of this age.

The Tribulation, as taught by most Bible scholars, encompasses a future seven year period when God will complete his discipline of Israel and final judgment upon the unbelieving citizens of the world. Those who accept a Pre-Tribulation Rapture theory believe that Christians who have trusted Christ as Lord and Savior will escape the Tribulation.

The final 7-year period of Daniel’s “70 Weeks.“Daniel 9:24-27

“Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy. Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.”

More References to the Tribulation

Revelation 11:2-3, “But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months. And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”

Daniel 12:11-12,“From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.”

And, here’s another view of the Tribulation from Gotquestions.org; The question is: “What is the Great Tribulation?”

Answer: The Tribulation is a future time period when the Lord will accomplish at least two aspects of His plan: 1) He will complete His discipline of the nation Israel (Daniel 9:24), and 2) He will judge the unbelieving, godless inhabitants of the earth (Revelation 6 – 18). The length of the Tribulation is seven years. This is determined by an understanding of the seventy weeks of Daniel (Daniel 9:24-27; also see the article on the Tribulation). The Great Tribulation is the last half of the Tribulation period, three and one-half years in length. It is distinguished from the Tribulation period because the Beast, or Antichrist, will be revealed, and the wrath of God will greatly intensify during this time. Thus, it is important at this point to emphasize that the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation are not synonymous terms. Within eschatology (the study of future things), the Tribulation refers to the full seven-year period while the “Great Tribulation” refers to the second half of the Tribulation.

It is Christ Himself who used the phrase “Great Tribulation” with reference to the last half of the Tribulation. In Matthew 24:21, Jesus says, “For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall.” In this verse Jesus is referring to the event of Matthew 24:15, which describes the revealing of the abomination of desolation, the man also known as the Antichrist. Also, Jesus in Matthew 24:29-30 states, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days . . . the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.” In this passage, Jesus defines the Great Tribulation (v.21) as beginning with the revealing of the abomination of desolation (v.15) and ending with Christ’s second coming (v.30).

Other passages that refer to the Great Tribulation are Daniel 12:1b, which says, “And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time.” It seems that Jesus was quoting this verse when He spoke the words recorded in Matthew 24:21. Also referring to the Great Tribulation is Jeremiah 30:7, “Alas! for that day is great, There is none like it; And it is the time of Jacob’s distress, But he will be saved from it.” The phrase “Jacob’s distress” refers to the nation of Israel, which will experience persecution and natural disasters such as have never before been seen.

Considering the information Christ gave us in Matthew 24:15-30, it is easy to conclude that the beginning of the Great Tribulation has much to do with the abomination of desolation, an action of the Antichrist. In Daniel 9:26-27, we find that this man will make a “covenant” (a peace pact) with the world for seven years (one “week”; again, see the article on the Tribulation). Halfway through the seven-year period—“in the middle of the week”—we are told this man will break the covenant he made, stopping sacrifice and grain offering, which specifically refers to his actions in the rebuilt temple of the future. Revelation 13:1-10 gives even more detail concerning the Beast’s actions, and just as important, it also verifies the length of time he will be in power. Revelation 13:5 says he will be in power for 42 months, which is three and one-half years, the length of the Great Tribulation.

Revelation offers us the most information about the Great Tribulation. From Revelation 13 when the Beast is revealed until Christ returns in Revelation 19, we are given a picture of God’s wrath on the earth because of unbelief and rebellion (Revelation 16-18). It is also a picture of how God disciplines and at the same time protects His people Israel (Revelation 14:1-5) until He keeps His promise to Israel by establishing an earthly kingdom (Revelation 20:4-6).

Chapter 2

What is the Tribulation Period?

This article is from: Whatchristianswanttoknow.com. The title is What is the Tribulation Period? A Study From the Bible, by Jack Wellman:

“What is the tribulation period? When is the tribulation supposed to begin? Will Christians be around when it occurs? What does the Bible say about the tribulation? What is the Tribulation?

Is the tribulation what Jesus spoke about when He said, “For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now–and never to be equaled again” (Matthew 24:21)? Is this also the time that Daniel prophesied about in Daniel 12:1 writing, “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress [tribulation] such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people–everyone whose name is found written in the book–will be delivered.” Can we read Joel 2:2 and say it was “a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was of old nor ever will be in ages to come” that predicted this day of tribulation?

Many Bible scholars believe that the tribulation is a time of great distress that occurs just prior to the return of Christ. The majority of Christians have been taught that they will escape this day of the wrath of God in what is called the rapture. The tribulation is when the wrath of God is poured out on a world that has rejected God for so long. They loved a lie over the truth and have grown more and more wicked over time. God was patient for so long but even God’s patience comes to an end when humans, like at the time of Noah, only thought of ways that were evil continually. There is some good in humans yes, but apart from the Holy Spirit of God, there is no real good in humans because even our good works are like filthy rags before God (Isaiah 64:6).

What Will the Tribulation Be Like?

The tribulation is when the wrath of God is poured out on a world that has rejected God for so long.

The events described in many places in the Bible give a horrific view of what will be taking place on the earth at this time. It is important to understand when you read about the tribulation in Matthew 24 and in Revelation, that the Book of Revelation is not written in exact chronological order. When you understand that, the book will make a lot more sense to you. Revelation 16:18 gives a brief glimpse of just how awful it will be for the residents of earth at that time because “Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake.” Jesus gave an excellent description of what the tribulation will be like in the Olivet Prophecy in Matthew 24 and 25. The disciples had just asked Jesus “what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age” (Matthew 24:3)? The so-called “end of the age” is the time just prior to Jesus’ Second Advent, when literally, all hell will break lose. In Matthew 24 Jesus says, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains” (v 6-8). Jesus says, “you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold” (v 9-12). In fact, “It will be so bad that “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened” (V 22).

Then we begin to see nature itself begin to show signs unraveling because, “Immediately after the distress of those days“ ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken” (Matthew 24:29). Could this blotting out of the sunlight and moon and the stars being hidden by the clouds be the result of nuclear fallout or from gigantic volcanic eruptions and fissures of the earth opened up by such titanic earthquakes that the world has never seen to date (Revelation 16:18, Matthew 24:8)?

Things really turn horribly bad when the Seventh Seal is released and an angel takes a fire-filled censor and casts it down to earth (Revelation 8:5) because this causes “peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.” When the Seventh Seal is opened, the seven angels blast seven trumpet blasts, each with a fierce and mighty judgment for the earth’s occupants. In Revelation 8:7-12 we see what happens when the first angel sounds his trumpet:

“and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.”

When the fifth angel blows his trumpet John “saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss. And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. They were not allowed to kill them but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes. During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them” (Revelation 9:1-6). What these “scorpions” are we can only imagine. And for those who “seek death but will not find it” for “they will long to die, but death will elude them” reveals that the suffering is so great that people will want to kill themselves to end their suffering but will be unable to do so.

It is so bad that beast like locusts “had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months. They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek is Apollyon [that is, Destroyer] (Revelation 9:10-11). The hearts of the unsaved will be so hardened by this time that God has to send beasts where, “The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. A third of mankind was killed by the three plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that came out of their mouths. The power of the horses was in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails were like snakes, having heads with which they inflict injury. The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons,) and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts” (Revelation 9:17-21). Amazingly, through all of this, mankind doesn’t repent. If this sounds like a nightmare, it is worse than any you could ever imagine, dream, or invent.

Will Christians Go Through the Tribulation?

God has not appointed His wrath to be poured out on believers because His wrath has been satisfied for they have placed their trust in Christ and Jesus’ took the wrath of God for us. As a result, the wrath of God that is to be poured out on the unrepentant and unregenerate world will be unlike anything that the world has ever seen (Matthew 24:21). There are said to be many who will be saved during the tribulation as we read in Revelation 7:14, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” Those who will be saved in the tribulation will have to pay with their lives as it says in Revelation 20:4, when the Apostle John “saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”

Most biblical scholars say that Christians will not go through the tribulation but the tribulation will make many martyrs become Christians but they will have to pay the price of their life. Christians are believed to escape this tribulation period by what is called the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:17).

When is the Tribulation?

No one can say when the tribulation will start with exactness because no one knows the moment of Christ’s return (Matthew 24:36). We are to always be ready because He will come like a thief in the night and when no one really expects Him (Matthew 24:43-44). Many will take His return for granted, not believe in Him, and will pay with their lives for that because when He does return, it will be too late to repent from their sins and confess them to Him (Matthew 24:50-51). Since no one knows the exact moment of Jesus’ return, we need to place our trust in Christ today and understand that God has not appointed His wrath and righteous indignation on believers (1 Thessalonians 5:9) because He Who knew no sin was made sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). If you have not yet believed in the Son of God, I beg you to consider it today, while it is still called today (2 Corinthians 6:2). Tomorrow may be too late.

Chapter 3

The Tribulation Countdown

Before we consider a more current view of the meaning of the words of Tribulation written in several chapters of the Bible, let’s first examine the meaning of the entries above regarding what the Tribulation will be like. These specifics were cited in this order:

First, “and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.”

Clearly this is a description of nuclear war, whereby many people are killed. The fallout from that blast, or blasts, that would rise as billowing fire and ground debris, and return to earth as a mixture of dust, blood, and hail from the high freezing upper atmosphere. Although this scene can be explained, what’s not clear is the source of this nuclear activity. Did Islam strike Israel first, or did Israel strike first as a preemptive strike? If Israel were attacked first, would they have the ability to strike back with nuclear bombs? The most probable answer is that Israel would be attacked first. This is suggested in several places, but most strongly in the warning to ‘take to the hills and don’t look back’ when the threat is observed. God would not give this warning to Satanic Muslims, except as an offer for them to repent. Revelation says in at least two places, ‘They repented not.’

This warning to God’s people comes largely in Matthew 24:15-21:

“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judae’a flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the house top not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever will be.” Clearly this is a warning to Israel; they will be attacked without notice or warning.

Also, we must consider the importance of trees and grass. The information in this verse relates to a specific area; probably Israel, since that’s likely the location of the first nuclear attack. Of course nuclear activity would destroy much of the flora in that vicinity. In this case it’s reported as a third; likely referring to a third of that in Israel and elsewhere in the Middle East. Much of that area is already barren of trees and grass, so this would become a very significant factor for that region. Likely the great warning in this verse is that the destruction from flora would be great after the attack, for the need of warmth and cooking; wherever food could be found.

Second, “The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.”

This is obviously another description of nuclear activity. When John saw the vision to write this observation he couldn’t imagine the power of a nuclear bomb. The rise and fall of the mass certainly would appear as a ‘moving mountain.’ Another anomaly in this verse is that throughout Revelation the word ‘sea’ often refers to the sea of humanity; not necessarily just to a body of water. In this case, as describing a vision, it might be reasonable to suggest this could be that sea of humanity as well as the sea of water. That portion on land might refer to transportation trucks, as well as actual ships at sea. In either case, this would represent the absence of many items necessary to maintain world economies. There will be a world-wide shortage of products and produce, as presented in the description of the rider of the black horse in Revelation 6:6. This verse mentioned a pair of balances and the price of food items, when available; another condition of the tribulation. Many people will die of starvation.

Third, “The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.”

Deciphering the meaning of this star named Wormwood provides a surprising result. First, the assumption is that this star is really a star. Of course this would be absurd, since a star falling onto earth would obliterate the earth even before it got here. The word ‘star’ is simply a metaphor to describe a condition or a situation. In this case, it’s to describe the horrible results of drug use throughout the world; and its effects on humanity. The word ‘star’ is merely something to identify the problem. A similar use of the words ‘beast’ and ‘angel’ is also made throughout Revelation. For example, in some cases a beast is merely the identification of a ‘being.’ So, what about the hazard of Wormwood? This reference gives one major clue:

Prevalence of Heroin Use in the US, 2013:

“The number and percentage of persons aged 12 or older who were current heroin users in 2013 (289,000 or 0.1 percent) were similar to those in 2008 to 2012 (ranging from 193,000 to 335,000 or 0.1 percent for all 4 years) (Figure 2.4). The number of current heroin users in 2013 was higher than the number of users in 2002 to 2005 (ranging from 119,000 to 166,000) and in 2007 (161,000). The number of persons aged 12 or older who were past year heroin users in 2013 also was higher than the numbers in 2002 to 2005, 2007, and 2008 (ranging from 314,000 to 455,000). (See Section B.2.3 in Appendix B for additional discussion of the estimated numbers of past year and past month heroin users in 2006.)”

Now, since we understand the great threat of heroin and other narcotics to our society, what is the source of that threat? Much of that source is from a plant called Wormwood. This is the information about wormwood offered by Wikipedia:

“Artemisia absinthium (absinthium, absinthe wormwood, wormwood, common wormwood, green ginger or grand wormwood) is a species of Artemisia, native to temperate regions of Eurasia and Northern Africa and widely naturalized in Canada and the northern United States. It is grown as an ornamental plant and is used as an ingredient in the spirit absinthe as well as some other alcoholic drinks.” It’s also the source of opiates such as morphine, opium and heroin.”

So, what about the ‘great star, blazing like a torch fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water’ described in the Wormwood verse? Simply, a third of the rivers means upon a third of mankind; the use of those opiates and abuse of alcohol is that prevalent in our overall society. And; ‘the springs of water?’ This identifies the abuse of these items by young people, very young people in many cases, who are the ‘springs of waters;’ the beginning place of humanity; the springs from which life and humanity flow.

Fourth, “The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.”

This fourth trumpet likely signals the beginning of serious and deep warfare; which could be nuclear as well as conventional. In either case, much debris and smoke would be spread in the air which would obscure things normally seen in the sky. From the description, that warfare would be continuous, night and day, and for a long period. The clue for this conclusion comes from the introduction of the last three trumpets which are the three ‘woes.’ These three woes include visions of great warfare activities.

Okay, now we know some of the coded words and ideas that explain some of the things scheduled to happen during that great hardship time of tribulation; but do we know when to expect it? Will it begin in our life time? Actually, there is a great clue, and it’s described in the book of Daniel. It begins in Chapter 8.

Chapter 8 describes a vision by Daniel that includes rams and goats representing different sources and situations. Those visions are too long and complex to discuss here, but one of the most significant factors is the identification of a ram with two horns (Verse 20.) One of those horns was identified as the king of Persia. The current name of that old kingdom of Persia is now Iran. The next few verses add more about this kingdom. And the false prophet who supports this kingdom by deception. Verses 24 and 25 add:

“And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many.”

Before we proceed to identify the importance of a covenant with Iran, we must know who will be responsible for that covenant; that covenant that will ‘destroy many.’ Perhaps we should begin by describing that person identified with a peace label. Without hesitation that identity would have to be of that person Barack Hussein Obama. He began his administration by accepting the ‘peace prize’ based on the anticipation of his focus on peace during his coming actions; not on what he had accomplished to promote peace. This was recognition of a person of ‘peace.’ Two other conditions also suggest Obama is the one identified in these verses as being that man of peace.

First, is his extreme support of Islam, that ‘religion of peace’ that destroys many. His refusal to destroy an enemy who blatantly boasts it will destroy America, Israel, and others not of Islam. Within his deceptions he claims to be a Christian; but all his positive comments support only Islam. Let’s reveal his true religion (of Satan) with those deceptions stripped bare. This is how he speaks of Islam:

1. “The future must not belong to those who slander the Prophet of Islam.”

2. “The sweetest sound I know is the Muslim call to prayer.”

3. “We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world — including in my own country.”

4. “As a student of history, I also know civilization’s debt to Islam.”

5. “Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance.”

6. “Islam has always been part of America.”

7. “We will encourage more Americans to study in Muslim communities.”

8. “These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.”

9. “America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”

10. “I made clear that America is not – and never will be – at war with Islam.”

11/ “Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism – it is an important part of promoting peace.”

12. “So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed.”

13. “In ancient times and in our times, Muslim communities have been at the forefront of innovation and education.”

14. “Throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.”

15. “Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality.”

16. “The Holy Koran tells us, ‘O mankind! We have created you male and a female; and we have made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.’”

17. “I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month.”

18. “We’ve seen those results in generations of Muslim immigrants – farmers and factory workers, helping to lay the railroads and build our cities, the Muslim innovators who helped build some of our highest skyscrapers and who helped unlock the secrets of our universe.”

19. “That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”

20. “I also know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story.”

His claim to be a Christian but his full support of Islam makes another of his identities perfectly clear; even within his great deceptions. In his own words Obama admits he is that second beast, that false prophet who supports the first beast, that antichrist Muhammad. His clear description is given in Revelation 13:11-18. Yes; in his own words, his own admission, he proclaims himself that false prophet. His great deception is uncovered. Verse 11 states, “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb (claimed to be of Christ,) and he spake as a dragon (he spoke words of Satan.) Is there any doubt?

Second, is his great deception to mislead the Islamic purpose of destroying anything not Islam. His mantra, along with expressed agreement by Hillary Clinton, is that ‘If we will only give them jobs, social support, and understanding they will leave their terrorist ways and humanize themselves to become part of normal society.’ By this ‘peace’ approach he continues to destroy many. Regardless of the economic or social conditions, Islam’s sole purpose is to destroy those who do not agree with their concept of religion. Period! Obama continues this deception of ‘peace’ which makes his actions extremely questionable, and dangerous to the tranquility of the world society.

With this clue we can now proceed to the next level to determine the time, the beginning, and more specifics of the Tribulation.

Chapter 4

Tribulation Begins

1In Daniel 9:25 it seems a rebuilding project will occur in Jerusalem to repair a street and the wall, even in ‘troublous times.’ This event is to ‘restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks.” Now let’s read what the next verse says that stops the building project: (Notice the word ‘Prince’ in this verse is capitalized. This represents Christ.)

“And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.” The next verse, 27, explains the covenant. (Notice the word ‘prince’ in this verse is not capitalized. This represents Satan. His people will come to destroy the holy place, the sanctuary.)

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: (7 years) and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

Okay, let’s review this information. It says parts of the city will be rebuilt in 72 weeks. And, it will be built ‘unto’ the Messiah, the Prince. In this case, as in other examples throughout Revelation, Prince with a capital P identifies Christ. Now, verse 26 says that after that time the Messiah will be cut off, and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city. In this case it’s a lower case p for that prince. Prince with a lower case p routinely identifies Satan throughout the reading. This means Satan’s people, the Muslims, will come and destroy the city.

Now the question becomes, when? The gage of that time becomes the covenant ‘signed by many.’ According to 2 Thessalonians 2:7 it will be when those restraining that vicious attack will be taken out of the way. “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.” This was the ultimate purpose and result of that covenant. We are analyzing the recent covenant commonly called the ‘Iranian Nuclear Arms Deal.

This is a description of that agreement from Wikipedia. It’s formal name is The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) known commonly as the Iran deal, is an international agreement on the nuclear program of Iran reached in Vienna on 14 July 2015 between Iran, the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council—China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States—plus Germany),[a] and the European Union.

Formal negotiations toward the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran’s nuclear program began with the adoption of the Joint Plan of Action, an interim agreement signed between Iran and the P5+1 countries in November 2013. For the next twenty months, Iran and the P5+1 countries engaged in negotiations, and in April 2015 agreed on a Iran nuclear deal framework for the final agreement and in July 2015, Iran and the P5+1 agreed on the plan.

Under the agreement, Iran agreed to eliminate its stockpile of medium-enriched uranium, cut its stockpile of low-enriched uranium by 98%, and reduce by about two-thirds the number of its gas centrifuges for 13 years. For the next 15 years, Iran will only enrich uranium up to 3.67%. Iran also agreed not to build any new heavy-water facilities for the same period of time. Uranium-enrichment activities will be limited to a single facility using first-generation centrifuges for 10 years. Other facilities will be converted to avoid proliferation risks. To monitor and verify Iran’s compliance with the agreement, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will have regular access to all Iranian nuclear facilities. The agreement provides that in return for verifiably abiding by its commitments, Iran will receive relief from U.S., European Union, and United Nations Security Council nuclear-related sanctions.

The agreement between the P5+1+EU and Iran on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is the culmination of 20 months of “arduous” negotiations.

The agreement followed the Joint Plan of Action (JPA), an interim agreement between the P5+1 powers and Iran that was agreed to on 24 November 2013 at Geneva. The Geneva agreement was an interim deal, in which Iran agreed to roll back parts of its nuclear program in exchange for relief from some sanctions. This went into effect on 20 January 2014. The parties agreed to extend their talks with a first extension deadline on 24 November 2014 and a second extension deadline set to 1 July 2015.

Ultimately, on 14 July 2015, all parties agreed to a landmark comprehensive nuclear agreement. At the time of the announcement, shortly before 11:00 GMT, the agreement was released to the public. End of Wikipedia article.

After this examination and analysis of the writings in Daniel, and the agreements in this Iranian nuclear deal; several parts of the agreement become important. First, this agreement (covenant) was made by seven nations. There’s that number seven again. Second, Israel was not involved with those negotiations – nor was Israel even consulted. So, it was not a covenant with Israel; it was a covenant guided by Satan regarding Israel. Daniel 9:27 does not say or indicate Israel would be a participant with the covenant. It says the covenant will be with many.

That reference also says the covenant will be for one week; a strange choice of word and time. As indicated above, the time frames in that agreement are varied and concern certain categories and topics. Perhaps the ‘one week’ refers to the number of different time frames rather than a definite period of time. Also very important, the verse says ‘he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week.’ It does not specify who shall do the confirming.

The referenced article above says the ‘he’ will be the antichrist, but that’s impossible; the antichrist was killed long ago. Therefore, Barack Hussein Obama, the second beast – also known as the false prophet is the ‘he’ in this verse. Obama is the one who pursued and confirmed this agreement. It’s the covenant that begins the countdown to the tribulation and the abomination of desolation. His actions, words, insinuations, and deeds further confirm that he’s the one referenced here as ‘he.’ Who else on the whole planet at this time of our history has the ‘great authority’ to accomplish the confirmation of a covenant such as this against Israel? No one.

This threat is being carried out by the existence and actions of Islam; not just by terrorist Islam. The terrorist Islam is simply the harlot daughter of Mother Islam. Mother Islam is proclaimed by Christ as ‘Mystery Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth.’ This is the woman, that mother, “Drunken with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.” (Revelation 17:5-6)

Realizing that every writing should be to entertain or to inform and, if possible, to present a conclusion that matches that given information; what should be the purpose and conclusion for the information presented in this book? The purpose is to present an urgent warning to be prepared for the tribulation that has been described in Revelation. That will be the goal of the conclusion presented next.

Conclusion

So, we begin this conclusion, or this summary, by understanding the main purposes for the Book of Revelation. As named, its fundamental purpose is to reveal. The greatest revelation in those words is to explain how Satan has promised to replace God in Heaven; and how he plans to do it. Other clearly defined purposes are: to hold fast to God’s Word; not to be seduced by false prophets, nor give them comfort and support (sufferest); to be prepared for the horrible events of the coming tribulation; and to be prepared for God’s judgment, which could come at any time, instantly, without warning.

First, let’s consider the critical reason John was instructed by Christ to write the things he would be shown and told. That most critical reason is that Satan would be so determined to replace God in heaven that many would be deceived by his false prophets and apostles that they would support Satan and abandon their salvation through Christ. This warning was given in most of the seven letters John was told to write to the seven churches. That warning was ‘do not be deceived; and to hold fast to God’s Word.’

We are also told in one letter not to give comfort, support, and acceptance (do not sufferest) that false prophetess Jezebel, representing Satan’s religion; Islam. And, please remember; that information was directed at ‘all churches’ not just to those seven churches at that time. This means everyone, even today, as you are reading this book. We must hold fast to our worship of God, and not be surprised at the time he returns, ‘as a thief in the night.’ We must make sure our names are judged positively from the book of life at all times. It’s that important to ‘hold fast.’

We are also warned that there are many false prophets, antichrists, and deceivers who will try to convince us of other representatives of God who will try to lead us to those false places. Recent examples include Bob Jones, David Koresh, and Sun Myung Moon. The most insidious and long-lasting, however, was Muhammad. He was the designated tool of Satan. The second beast (‘who exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him’ Rev. 13:12) is his modern replacement.

Two other purposes of Revelation are to assure Christians that God and His forces will win in the end; to hold fast and not get discouraged. In the end, nations will still exist and will be healed by ‘leaves’ from the tree of life. But, during the tribulation period before that ending there will be great times and hardships to endure. These will include death by the sword, starvation, thirst and pestilence. We are warned to ‘prepare’ and not be surprised or embarrassed by our nakedness of not being ready when those tribulations begin. That tribulation period will begin in the midst of that covenant affecting Israel. It’s that covenant promoted by that false prophet, Barack Hussein Obama. It’s the covenant that will be abandoned by Iran ‘in the midst of that covenant,’ and Israel will be savagely attacked.

‘In the midst’ is not a definitive time. If that means ‘in the middle’ then it would begin three and a half years after the covenant was signed. However, ‘in the midst’ could mean anytime within that seven year period. We must assume, to prepare, it will be at the midpoint. But, we know we must prepare for those four designated threats to our safety and well-being. Other events also occur at that three and a half year time, so this is most likely that time determined. How should that preparation begin?

Protect Yourself – Own A Weapon

The most expedient preparation is to own a defensive weapon. If you don’t own one now, then this should be your first priority. It doesn’t matter if you agree with gun ownership or not – get a weapon, unless you desire to die ‘by the sword’ as indicated above. You must not be naked and without defense; especially if you have a family. If you won’t protect them in times of hardship; who will? If every qualified person in America owns a weapon, and our enemies know it, then we likely would never have to fire those weapons. A hostile enemy will not attack a target they know will kill them. We must let every Islamic terrorist know they will die if they attack us. Even if they have suicide bombers, they will soon run out of volunteers. But, Islamic killers are not the only great danger that might arise.

There’s a serious consideration, however, before you buy that weapon. That is, to make sure you buy ammunition for it at the same time, otherwise you might own a weapon that’s useless. There’s a shortage of some ammunition now, and it’s likely to get worse in the future. It will be easier and simpler for a despotic leader to disarm people by eliminating the availability of ammunition. Millions of weapons have been handed down from generation to generation, and are therefore unaccountable. The government has no tracer information on these weapons. Most likely, any weapon purchased within the past few years is now recorded at the new NSA center in Bluffdale, Utah. Also, be aware that any new ammunition purchases, especially with a credit card or a check, will also be recorded at that site. Don’t be surprised if sometime in the future certain items may be restricted from cash purchasing. Do it now.

Also, there’s another danger that lurks closer to home. It’s described as ‘Wormwood.’ Wormwood is a great star that fell from heaven when the third angel blew the trumpet, announcing horrible things would happen. This was not a star of course, but something that affected citizens of the earth. The word condition might have been used to describe it instead of a star falling. But the word ‘great’ gave the condition great significance. It’s an unusual event included with the other great events in this chapter, including war and natural disasters. (Revelation 8:11)

In effect, this is a description of the great impact of drugs upon our society; so great in fact that it will become a danger during the time of tribulation. The word ‘wormwood’ describes a family of plants that grow in the wild. The plant is mostly a source of absinthe and opiates, but one variety produces a product that’s considered artificial marijuana. In general, however, it describes the increased use of drugs; so much increase that it becomes a serious danger.

Just imagine what desperate and extreme measures users might do in their attempts to get more drugs. During this time of tribulation, would they invade your home, kill everyone, then plunder your belongings to trade or sell for more drugs? Perhaps you might consider your disdain of owning a weapon. Perhaps you might no longer believe the arguments of those gun-haters. To comply with their ideas might get you and your family killed. Then it’s too late to consider owning one. Christ cautioned many times in Revelation to be prepared; don’t be caught naked. And, to be prepared means to have food, or a way to grow food.

Prepare Not to Starve

According to Revelation, and mentioned in three places, hunger will be one of the greatest hardships during the tribulation period. Each person or each family must decide how to prepare for this horrible event. One way, and of course the most obvious way, is to prepare to grow your own food during this period. This is a simple answer for farmers who have acreage and are trained in the techniques of farming.

Most farmers with large gardens also know how to can their produce for the more austere times. However, those who have no acreage or space enough to grow a garden must have other alternatives. It’s uncertain if farmers can produce enough to provide for the massive hunger that will occur. Probably not; and shipping and transportation will be greatly reduced if not totally eliminated to move produce long distances. So, other options must be explored before the need arises. You must be prepared.

One option growing in popularity is to accumulate large stocks of those meals with a long life span, some up to twenty or twenty-five years. Presently, there are two major advertisers of these products, but likely there are more. For some, this is not the best option and for two reasons. First is the cost. They are more expensive than comparable meals. Second is that they require water to prepare the meal. ‘Just add water and heat’ the ads say. But what if you don’t have water or heat?

Another reasonable alternative is to buy canned food; and it’s certainly the least expensive for those on a limited budget. One might ask ‘why not stock frozen food?’ The answer is simple; likely there will be little or no electricity during the worst times of the tribulation. Canned food offers another great advantage. All canned foods include water and liquids in the cans. This could be one source of liquid to prevent severe thirst. Hunger and thirst are two of the four horrors described to happen during the tribulation period. But, one might be concerned about the cost, and loss through ‘best by’ dates on the cans.

To counter the cost of canned food one must remember the main objective during the tribulation period is survival. Therefore, quality food and the ‘food you like’ are not that important. The most important thing to consider is cost per unit (ounce) and ‘best by’ dates. For examples: most food stores and supermarkets have rotating special prices on their canned vegetables. Some cans normally priced above a dollar are put on special prices such as half that to draw customers to the store. That’s the time to buy that product in quantity; as many as the store will allow. And, there’s another option that might even be better; the dollar discount store.

Almost all canned food products at the ‘dollar stores’ are priced at a dollar. However, many of those canned items contain more than twice as much as those priced less at regular supermarkets. It’s not unusual to find three times the volume at the same or lower price. In either case the ‘best by’ date must be considered. Since this year is 2016, the beginning stock of food should begin with dates of 2018 and beyond. Some ‘best by’ dates now reach as far as 2021. How much should you buy and preposition? That depends on the size of your family and those you intend to support during those trying times. It also depends on your space availability for storage. Once stored, however, those dates become important. To manage the dates, keep them stocked separately by year.

Rotation is the answer. Once you have the sufficient stock on hand then future purchases become normal purchases for the current time. And for those items nearing the ‘best by’ dates that haven’t been used there’s another good answer. Simply donate them to local ‘food pantries’ and other charities that offer food to the needy. But, don’t consider it a loss; instead consider it another tool of God’s influence upon humans helping humans. And in some cases it might even be the source of a tax deduction.

Two other alternatives regarding a food source might also be considered. First, don’t forget to have a large supply of fish hooks, fishing line, and other auxiliary fishing equipment. Fish and crustaceans are usually available in most bodies of water. Even crayfish exist is small streams. Second, powerful air rifles are now on the market for shooting small game; and some have silencers, which is an advantage if you are trying to remain safely and quietly in the background.

Have a Water Source

According to the words, during tribulation many will die from: the sword, hunger, thirst, and beasts, so one must also plan for a water source. For the many who live near a water source such as rivers, lakes, and natural springs that will not be a great problem; except possibly for the purity of the water. This problem may be countered by using a water purification system (personal ones are available for about twenty dollars; often called a straw) or by boiling the water. There are also other methods of purification including the use of certain tablets. Regarding ‘boiling water’ perhaps this is the best place to discuss fire and heat.

Okay, I know I wrote that I would avoid references in this conclusion, but there’s one that’s too important to ignore. It’s Revelation 7:4 which cautions against hurting the ‘trees.’ Trees are also mentioned in Chapter 9; which might suggest we not destroy too many of our trees during this time of tribulation; when we are likely to be without sources of fire and heat. Can you imagine how many trees would be destroyed as a source of heat for billions of people on the earth trying to stay warm for three to seven years? Trees once were the major source of heat, but the earth had many less inhabitants. Even so, at that time many of our forests were devastated. But today there’s an alternative – solar cookers and ovens.

There are several types of solar ovens, some simple and some more complex. At the present time they are somewhat expensive; the better ones in the three-hundred dollar range. However, considering their utility during difficult times that extra cost might be well worth the expense, especially if you are not in an area where wood is available; dry wood. Once a tree is cut it has to dry before it can be used for fuel. I know, because in my youth my family and many families used wood for the stove and the fireplace. We didn’t have electricity until I was twelve years old.

Those solar cookers will work when there is even medium sunshine, so using them wouldn’t be hassle free, but it’s certainly a reasonable alternative when the sun is shining. Most, at this time, are not mass produced which means if there’s a sudden demand for them they might not be available. And, there are also optional solar tubes for heating water. These are less expensive and can also be used for cooking like a stove, with the addition of an insert tray. But, what about those times when the sun isn’t adequate to make those solar cookers effective? The other alternative, of course, is firewood; which likely will be the primary source for most survivors. This brings a question of how to start that fire without a match.

A large stock of matches or cigarette lighters or other fuel lighters might be the most obvious answer of how to start a fire. And, there are two alternative ways, just in case matches don’t work and fuel is exhausted.

The first alternative is the camp-style striker method. There are several interpretations of the striker, where a rod is scraped against a starter producing sparks to start a fire tender. There’s another alternative, however, that most people never consider. And, when the sun is shining it’s definitely the most effective – the common magnifying glass. Using the sun, a magnifying glass focused to a fine point on paper or other tender will start a fire.

A very strong magnifying glass is always more effective, but a weaker magnifier will work well during the hottest times of day. The best news about the magnifying glass is that water doesn’t hurt it, and the fuel never runs out. I have four strong ones pre-positioned for emergencies. Once prepared for these three threats, there’s still one to consider. It’s introduced as beasts, which most certainly would mean organisms, diseases, and pestilence.

Prepare for Health Disasters

If this tribulation time is as horrendous as written in the Bible, then many people will die from communicable diseases and maladies that are somewhat controllable today. Today, we have medicines and immunizations to prevent and combat things such as flu and pneumonia. Just imagine what would happen if these protections were not available for five to seven years. In large groups, these horrors would spread like wildfire, and only the healthiest and hardiest would survive, especially if complicated without heat to ease the freezing and wet nights. Without proper medications the only defense would be to wear masks and avoid large groups during these periods of epidemics. But, these maladies are not the only threats to survival.

Two other serious threats will be ticks and mosquitoes. These have been serious problems throughout history. In our modern day, and in our modern societies, repellants ordinarily repel these malicious enemies; but will repellants be available during the tribulation period? Likely not. One possibility is to try to anticipate the beginning time and have as much on hand as possible. If you have too much, your friends and family might need help. And, if you spend any time at all outdoors, especially in warmer times, always check every inch of your skin for ticks. They are very small until they gorge themselves with your blood; then it might be too late. If your home is not perfectly sealed, don’t forget to sleep under netting at night.

Another common problem often arises when in survival mode; especially outdoors. That’s the problem of infection from scratches and other wounds. Briars, thorns, and broken sharp sticks abound everywhere in the outdoors, even in the safety of your enclosed yard. If an infection occurs from one of these pricks, scratches, or cuts there likely will not be medical aid nearby to help you. Of course, the logical answer to defend yourself against these ‘beasts’ is to have an adequate stock of antiseptics and antibiotics on hand to last the duration. These beasts will kill people as surely as guns, hunger, and thirst; and often with long-lasting pain.

What is the Tribulation?

Most of us have heard the term or the concept of ‘tribulation.’ And when we hear that word we ordinarily think of hardship and discomforting times. The overview is suggested in Revelation 18, Verse 11: “And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more.” It continues in Verses 14-18: “And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. And every ship master, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off. And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying What city is like unto this great city!” This great city written of here is that great Babylon. This book describes and explains the consequences – the tribulation that follows.
