Introduction

I want to thank you and congratulate you for downloading the book, “Third Eye Awakening: Simple Exercises to Opening and Awakening Your Third Eye”. This book contains proven steps and strategies on how to open your third eye. But before we go any further, let’s get to the bottom of what it means to open your third eye.

What it means actually depends on who you ask but the central, most generalized meaning would be the transition from an unconscious to a conscious state of being, characterized by an all-powerful eye that exists at the center of your mind. The raising of one’s consciousness is said to enhance the vision of your third eye, which allows the one experiencing this phenomenon to see beyond what our naked eye can see. There are many ways to describe this happening, but the most common of all would be enlightenment.

On the subject of enlightenment, understand that this has nothing to do with intelligence or even belief for that matter. Opening one’s third eye is actually the abandonment of any concepts that relegate or reduce you to anything less than the sentient being that you are. So, from the perspective of the third eye, intelligence and belief don’t even exist. In the mind of a conscious individual, your beliefs ebb and flow as tides on a moonlit night. When you learn how to open your third eye, you will learn how to entertain many thoughts without accepting any of them as your truth until you find what speaks directly to you.

In addition to this, the opening of your third eye will assist you in managing your emotions and your relationships. You will learn how not to take the happenings of the world personally, and how to get the very best out of every situation—good or bad. And the awesome part here is that in learning this, your third eye will give you the sight to find the positive side to all things that occur in your life; no matter how awful it may be. In the mind of the conscious, there is always a lesson to be learned. And in reference to your emotions, no longer will you be ruled by such impulsive feelings. Your third eye will give you the sight to see beyond the heat of the moment, to break down the structure of your emotional state, and then consciously choose to remove any unsavory or negative emotions from your experience. You will be able to confront feelings and thoughts that you once were at the mercy of, which puts all of the power over your mind into your hands—something that so many people want to be able to do, but don’t understand how to.

This book is one of the most valuable tools that you can have in your journey to opening your third eye, and increasing the awareness of self. There are many qualities that you can work on but, without being in tuned with self at the basis of these things, you are much more sure to fail in your quest to enlightenment. This is one of the best things that you can currently do for yourself because with a heightened consciousness comes less stress, peace, happiness, fulfillment, and even attaining success beyond your wildest dreams if that is your desire. The opening of your third eye moves in very close correlation with the Law of Attraction, which states simply that what you think and do will manifest as events in your life, and that whether these events will be positive or negative experiences depend solely on your perception of them. When your third eye is open, you aren’t ignoring the bad; you just are acknowledging it, and deciding consciously that these negatives will not defeat you. And when all is good in your mind, all will become good in your life.

You must understand though that the road to enlightenment never truly ends. There are always ways in which to rediscover and reinvent yourself, which is what makes the process so beautiful. A truly enlightened individual would never refer to themselves as such because they understand that there is always room for growth. Opening your third eye is only the beginning. From there, you will understand that life itself is a constantly turning wheel of lessons, rewards, and so many other valuable experiences that each will contribute a little more to who you choose to be. It is truly amazing to consciously witness one’s own growth over time, and an opened third eye gives you that gift.

Now, I understand that not everyone is the same, so the manner in which you open your third eye will naturally have to be tailored to who you are as an individual. This part of the process can be confusing and often can defeat a person before they even begin, but that is the purpose of this book. I will guide you through several steps in which you can take to achieve the goal of opening your third eye. From there, the power to become more will be in your hands.

Awakening of the Third Eye Step #1: Using Meditation as a Gateway

The most common practice for aligning oneself in such a way that you open your third eye is meditation. This is one of the most important steps that will be taken as you strive to awaken your mind. Everything after this chapter will only apply if this first practice is the basis and foundation of every other action that you take from here on out. Meditation is characterized by controlled breathing, and a stillness of the body as well as the mind to achieve internal and external peace. In this case though, your mind will be much more active. Visualization will also play an important role, but before we get into the intangibles, let’s focus on what your body needs to be physically doing.

I understand if you can’t sit crossed legged because it is too uncomfortable. Meditation is not about fitting a certain template for performing the action. Fear not, yoga pants and incense aren’t necessarily a requirement. Those things are just what helps the people who use them feel the most comfortable. So, in terms of what your body should be doing—sit, stand, or even lay in a position that is most comfortable for you. Why is comfort so important? Well, without feeling comfort, you will have never been grounded enough to explore you mind as you should be when your aim is to reach your third eye through meditation. Just make sure that you’re not tired if you’re deciding to meditate on your back. You will certainly fall asleep, which defeats the purpose of it all!

Once you find yourself in some comfortable attire as well as a comfortable position, it’s time to focus solely on your breathing. You should not take meditation a single step further until you can learn how to properly breathe. It is very simple, and if you follow these steps you are sure to reach a state of total relaxation. Breathe from your stomach, and take a very deep breath through your nose. Hold momentarily (around 3 seconds), then exhale through your mouth. That’s all! Leave a short pause between each breath too so that you aren’t more focused on the number of breaths than you are on each breath individually. The inhalation through the nose represents the intake of all experiences, thoughts, and feelings of your past and your present. The exhalation represents the dispersion of all of the negativity that exists within those said thoughts and feelings. The nose is the filter for bacteria and other potentially harmful substances in the body, and the mouth is where those substances are expelled in the form of carbon dioxide. If it helps to conceptualize this practice, try visualizing your memories and feelings as they come and go. And if you need an auditory way to stay present, practice saying a mantra (a word or short phrase used to aid in concentration) to keep yourself grounded. A simple one could be, “I am love, I am light, I am peace, I am whole.” Whatever works for you.

Meditation should always emphasize upon what state of being you are wanting to achieve. With the awakening of the third eye being the focal point of our practice, the next step in the process is learning how to focus onto bringing the third eye into being. This is where visualization plays its most important role. Without having a mental image to focus on, it can be more challenging to allow yourself to fall into the trancelike state of being that will allow you to access your third eye. Do what you must to cultivate the thoughts, feelings, and images associated with what it means for you specifically to open your third eye. Zero in on those things, and do your best to keep your mind there. Remember to breathe, and to keep your eyes closed so as not to break focus or to experience outside stimulation that could disrupt your state of mind. If needed, you can also use music to assist you in reaching that mental space. Keep the tempo low and the I personally would suggest more ambient and melodic tones.

Anything that can help you should be used, because it will take a great deal of practice before you’re just able to dive into the power of your third eye at will. And don’t worry about meditating for hours on end. Start small. Start with what you can handle—5 to 10 minutes a day is plenty if you’ve never done it before. Over time your tolerance for stillness will naturally increase, and you won’t even realize it by the time you’re going for 30-60 minutes straight or even more.

Awakening takes on different forms for different people. For some people, you can physically see a difference in the world. For others, you may start to deeply feel a difference where you form a truly uninhibited connection with the world and the people around you. Some simply experience an extreme change in their perception of the world, where all of a sudden their vision becomes keen enough to penetrate as well as dissolve any challenge that arises. No one way is better than the other and, more often than not, what you experience will depend on how you naturally learn new information. Some of us are auditory, some are visual, and some are completely experiential. So, the manner at which your awakening occurs in the way it does is because that is the best way for you to both understand and to utilize the power of your third eye.

Awakening of the Third Eye Step #2: Understanding Your Chakras

Chakra is a word used in Eastern, predominantly Asian cultures to describe the energy in and around you. While meditation is the gateway, it cannot even begin to be opened until you at least understand the fundamentals of chakra and the role it plays in being the key to that gate.

Your chakras are the different energies that flow through your being and that also all contribute to manifest as who you are. We each have them, but just as how different chefs use different amounts of ingredients for the same dishes; we each have different amounts of each chakra inside of us. There are 7 chakras in total, and each is equally important to your development. Opening one’s third eye would mean that you discovered how to find balance among them. It isn’t required that they all be balanced at all times because life happens and emotions are still a very real aspect of the human existence. An awakened third eye simply understands how to manage your chakras to the point that you can realign them when they become imbalanced.

A Breakdown of the Chakras

*
p<{color:#000;}. Root Chakra – Your ability to stay grounded and connected to what drives you, even in the face of adversity.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Sacral Chakra – Your level of openness to people and experiences.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Solar Plexus Chakra – Your confidence, and the control that you have over your life.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Heart Chakra – Your capacity for compassion and love.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Throat Chakra – your communication skills.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Third Eye (also known as “Brow”) Chakra – Your ability to see beyond what is right in front of you, and your willingness to consider the greater good beyond you and your immediate surroundings.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Crown Chakra – Your ability to stay fully in tune with self and with your spirituality.

The imbalance of these chakras come from the emotional and mental issues that we each face in our lives. It is unique for each of us simply because we each have had our own set of challenges that will have either defeated or empowered us. So now, we will take a look at what types of feelings or thoughts that can cause your chakras to decrease in potency and to become imbalanced in relation to the others within you.

The Chakra’s Achilles Heal

*
p<{color:#000;}. Root Chakra – Challenges with being independent (emotionally, financially), a lack of survival instincts.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Sacral Chakra – An issue with sexuality, pleasure, or well-being.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Solar Plexus Chakra – Lacking self-worth, low self-esteem or self-confidence.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Heart chakra – Lacking the welcoming of joy and inner peace. Never having experienced love.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Throat Chakra – Being dishonest, fearing to express yourself, and internalizing your emotions.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Third Eye Chakra – Lacking the wisdom, intuition, and other intangible qualities that represent growth and coming of age.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Crown Chakra – Being a slave to a portrayed image rather than the raw beauty that lies within, wearing a “mask”, and the vanity often associated with materialism.

Sometimes it isn’t even entirely our faults that we are the way we are, but that is no excuse for failing to take the necessary steps to positive personal development. If you truly want to open your third eye, look truthfully and honestly at those descriptions and find which applies to you. Where are you lacking balance? How can you bridge that gap? Just as this entire process, it will require that you step outside of your current comfort zone. I understand why that seems challenging, but in releasing such a fear based control, you allow for a more peaceful form of it to take place.

When tying all of this new information to your meditation practices and even life as a whole, it is important to understand that each chakra emits from and exists in a central location in your body. Once you understand where, you can begin to focus on these areas as you breathe, and envision the pure and powerful energy that will flow through you as you do. The location of the chakras goes as follows:

*
p<{color:#000;}. Root – Tailbone, or the base of your lower back.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Sacral – 2 inches beneath your belly button, then 2 more inches inward. Think lower abs.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Solar Plexus – Upper stomach region.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Heart – Right above your heart, at the center of your chest.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Third Eye – At the center of your forehead.

*
p<{color:#000;}. Crown – The top of your head, right at the center on that “soft” spot.

Although there is a chakra dedicated solely to your third eye, there cannot be any sort of awakening without first balancing the energies. Pound that concept into your brain! That goes for all chakras too, because each of these locations contain gates that can be opened through meditation. Once you are truly honest with yourself about where you need to improve, you will be able to repair the areas where your chakra is lacking, and from there you will be able to focus on and begin to attempt at facilitating the awakening that you desire. There are still other contributing factors, but meditation along with an understanding of how chakra ebbs and flows through your body is the platform on which all of the other ideas stand.

Remember the Law of Attraction? Well, this is a place where it plays directly into what you’re wanting to accomplish. Thoughts do indeed become things, and you will see that within the analysis of your chakras. The behaviors, emotions, thoughts, and whatever other intention based actions will always manifest as a form of energy. That energy cannot be created or destroyed, but it can take on different forms. For example, of you are very self-centered and can’t ever picture anything beyond what involves you directly—your third eye chakra will suffer, which makes it that much harder to awaken. If you aren’t emotionally grounded and can easily be swayed by people or events in life—over time that will drain your root chakra.

This pattern of manifestation exists in all of us, and it is why so many people seem to be unhappy. They aren’t even fully aware that the negative statements and thoughts they have has such an impact on their physical selves as well as their lives. But now you are aware, and it is time to take charge.

Awakening of the Third Eye Step #3: Harnessing the Law of Attraction

I briefly touched on the Law of Attraction and how it influences every aspect of our being, especially once we become aware of it. As you now know, the common statement, “Thoughts become things”, is very important to remember. But how much further does this really go? And how else does it relate to the awakening of your third eye? Well, in this case an opened third eye is both an acknowledgement of and the usage of this law.

When broken down to a level of practicality, the Law of Attraction is merely the understanding that you are fully responsible for every aspect of your life. Your third eye gives you the vision, but with that vision comes a responsibility to yourself and to whom or whatever else you wish to aim your good. It isn’t something that you necessarily have to do, but with ignorance comes consequences. That is where the negative energies that swallow up and consume many individuals is born from.

Many of us know deep down who we want to be, or even who we believe we are destined to be, but we resist the energy surrounding that notion. In doing so, we attract all of the events and people that will only bring us further down. Life truly is what you make it—not physically, but mentally. Your perception of your reality will control the outcome of everything in your life. It is the why a monk can be poor, homeless, and malnourished but still live with an abundance of love and happiness in his heart while the CEO making 10 million dollars a year experiences crippling depression on a daily basis.

So, at the end of the day, harnessing the Law of Attraction would mean to have your actions and thoughts move in alignment with what you want to see in your life. Don’t waste time complaining or dwelling on so-called failures. Focus on what you want, and only on that. If you want to open your third eye, focus on doing that. Put in the time and energy to create and bring that into your reality. If you are skeptical, it will not happen. If you are doubtful, it will not happen. Acknowledge your shortcomings, take whatever lessons you needed to from them, then move forward. This process won’t be easy at first, but it will be worth it. If you have the mental fortitude, you will be well on your way. But you must assume responsibility for all things in your life. Obviously, we can’t control what happens in our lives at all times—that isn’t my point. My point is that you can control your perception and your reaction. Take that power and channel it into yourself, so that you can awaken to the remarkable human being that you are.

Awakening of the Third Eye Step #4: Positive Self-Talk

This is also an aspect of the three topics discussed previously, but I created a separate chapter for it to get more in depth. Many people see “positive self-talk” and think of a generic self-help book. This not the case.

True positivity is not the absence of negativity. It simply is the understanding that although negativity exists; it will not rule your mind. This is important because on the road to opening your third eye, there will be many things that challenge your mind. You will become open to the truths and even the horrors of the world in a sense. Hyper-awareness does this to a person, but it is no reason to stray from the path. Over time, it will become second nature; you just have to be patient with this process.

Positive self-talk takes on the same principles as a mantra during meditation. Its purpose is to help you stay present and to take the most from every situation and challenging moment in your life. We have been fooled to believe that it entails bulldozing past then burying your emotions in the face of an obstacle. Positive self-talk in its simplest form is more of a reminder than anything else. It helps to validate you and your emotions, as well as providing a means to dispel any negativity so that it becomes easier to find the positive within whatever situation faces you.

There is no right or wrong way to talk to yourself, so long as you are being loving and encouraging. There will be frustration. There will be impatience. That is natural, so don’t neglect that. Perfection is nonexistent. Opening your third eye is about finding your higher self, not about becoming a “model” citizen. When in the face of something, you will learn to say, “Well, this sucks, but what can I do turn this around?” rather than complaining or giving up altogether. It isn’t just sitting there saying that you did well when you didn’t. It definitely isn’t pretending as if you always make the best choices. Denial will get you nowhere with the universe, and one of the reasons for opening your third eye is finding a oneness with the universe. Positive self-talk can manifest as a prayer, an affirmation, or anything else that can get you through the low moments that we all experience in our lives. Just don’t ever lie to yourself. Acknowledge the truth in what is happening, then move onward.

Awakening of the Third Eye Step #5: Aligning the Physical with the Mental Self

In awakening your third eye, there must be alignment in all aspects of your life. If you are aiming to improve the health of your mind, you must follow suit with your body. An unhealthy body will never reach its true potential, and in the long run will always keep you from ascending to the point of opening your third eye.

Being healthy does not mean that you must have a strenuous and relentless workout routine. More than anything, I am referring to how you treat your body. The foods you put into it, the substances you take in, and so on. You can’t afford to short change yourself there—your body is the vessel through which your third eye will see the world. Working on your mental without focusing on your physical self too is the same as putting a brand-new engine in a car with no wheels. It just doesn’t work. So, what I implore is that you pay attention to the foods that you eat, what you drink, and even what you do with your body in reference to physical activity. Of course, all things are alright in moderation, so don’t think you can’t have a beer with your friends or eat an unhealthy but delicious meal from time to time, but you must stay mindful of anything that can sabotage you in your process.

You can definitely think outside of the box for this aspect of the practice. You don’t have to just exercise and eat better because this isn’t a weight loss plan. The goal of this here is just to ensure that you feel good on both the inside and the outside. Any physical activity that you enjoy and that brings you peace can be implemented here. If you enjoy hiking because it brings you joy and provides a physical challenge that you like, do that! And perhaps you will find a place off of the trail to meditate? If you enjoy walking through your neighborhood, canoeing, or fishing, do it! Whatever brings you joy and peace is what you should focus on.

I’m not even saying to clean your eating habits up really. What I’m saying is that if you eat burgers all of the time, and as a result feel awful; for your own good changes should be made! If you can be 100% honest with yourself and believe that what you consume doesn’t affect you negatively, more power to you. But the object of this game is to figure out how to put your physical self in a place where you can find alignment in your mind as well. Alignment in this case just describes the knowing deep within you that you are promoting goodness in every aspect of your life.

If you feel that finding the balance in this aspect of your life is too much, this life isn’t for you. It is great to be aware of self from an intangible perspective, but the physical self is equally important because none of what you aspire to be can be achieved without finding balance. Just imagine the effect that an unhealthy body can have on the chakras that flow through you! I’m not saying to snap your fingers and magically become healthy if you aren’t because all of this is all a process through which you must be patient. I can’t say that enough. What I’m saying is to expand your scope of awareness, and to make some real changes in your lifestyle if you honestly feel it to be necessary.

Let’s say we’re not even talking about opening your third eye right now. Physical health is still so important! If it helps, try thinking on smaller terms. Don’t try to consider the bigger picture all day, every day. Think about what can physically or mentally be done today to get you a step closer to achieving your goal. It is cliché to say, but taking things day by day is paramount here. There are no short cuts, but there also no deadlines. The speed at which this happens is totally up to you. There is absolutely no pressure. For some of you, this may take 6 months; for some it may be 6 years. The destination is not what is valuable here though, it is what you learned along the way. Those small victories over yourself are what will feel the best. So even if it is as small as exercising more, controlling your portions, or reducing your alcohol intake—know that everything little thing done to improve counts towards accessing your third eye.

Awakening of the Third Eye Step #6: Ascension

Your path is your own. No two people will achieve a third eye awakening in the same manner. I will reiterate that it is not the destination that matters here because with enlightenment comes another journey altogether.

Now, to review, we have learned that the first step to opening your third eye is to begin practicing meditation. What you do during this step is up to you, so long as you’re practicing proper breathing techniques and understand where you must go mentally to begin the process. In this practice, you must understand that a hyper-awareness of self is required, and that this awareness will help to see honestly where you lack balance amongst your varying chakra energies.

We also understand now that you must both acknowledge and implement the existence of the Law of Attraction through a change in attitude as well as your actions. Within this, there is positive self-talk, and becoming more conscious of the relationship between the physical and the mental self. There must be alignment in order to progress, and, as I said before, take your time with this. Be honest with yourself, and move forward from there. Do whatever you feel you need to after analyzing yourself, then focus on facing each challenge, one by one. Patience is key here because this is not an overnight occurrence by any means, but even the smallest step forward can teach you so much about yourself. Progression is progression, no matter how big or small.

In opening your third eye, you can reprogram and rewire your brain to operate and perceive the world as being ever in your favor. Remember, the state of your reality is relative to what your perception of it is. You will see that with great power comes the responsibility of sharing your new gift as much as your possibly can. This may manifest as public service, art, building, etc. and you may already have done or be doing these things, but with this new vision you create an even greater foundation behind your “why” for doing what you do.

There is no better or worse way. There is no true right and wrong. With your third eye opened, you can find grounding anywhere and everywhere, no matter the circumstance. The object of your aim should never be to ascend above anyone else because that entire concept doesn’t actually exist. We created the concept of better and worse to promote ourselves out of our own projected insecurities. It isn’t necessary. The only goal here is to get closer and closer to your ascension through the implementation of the practices that were previously mentioned—mixed with a bit of your own personal preferences to make it as smooth a transition as it can be. On this road, it is best to take the path of least resistance. Accomplishment isn’t always measured by how hard a thing was. That isn’t how this works. Follow the flow of your energy, and allow your third eye to open.

Conclusion

You have been given a lot of information here, and for those who have never explored these concepts; it will be a lot to process. One thing that I want to emphasize more than anything else is to enjoy this process. It doesn’t have to be a grind. Remember: The path of LEAST resistance. Implement these practices, yes, but do it in a way that feels natural and comfortable to you. Don’t force anything, and don’t be hard on yourself if you find that some aspects of opening your third eye are more challenging than others.

Patience is paramount here; no amount of spiritual growth within any practice or religion can be achieved without it. Understand that there is no time frame for this. Focus on the day to day things that can be changed to promote your awakening, but don’t add unnecessary pressure to yourself. As long as your intention and actions are focused on opening your third eye, your day will come. There are no mistakes or errors that can be made on this path. Everything is a lesson, but only if you have the will to perceive it as such.

At this time, I can say proudly that the power is in your hands, but don’t let that scare you. That simply means that your ascension is now up to you and what you will do next to begin this journey to your true self. Your third eye is the key to all of the answers that you seek. So often do we look outside of ourselves for evidence of greatness, when it fact it exists in all of us. Embrace yourself for who you are, and be truthful in what you feel you should change in order to improve upon yourself. I could go on and on about what to do and how to do it, but at this point that would not help you. Take what you learned here, and put your own personal spin on it so as not to stray from the path. If you want to experience true clarity and peace as you say you do, you will hold fast to the process and continue on no matter faces you. Strong are those who can see more than what meets the eye. Your time is now. Awaken the power within.
