A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES

1 John 5:4

For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

As children of God we are over-comers in every area of life and in every situation we encounter. There is a certain force that enforces this victory, and that is the force of faith. Unfortunately many Christians do not have a proper understanding of what faith is. They have many definitions of faith that sound “nice” and theological but produce no results. Some of the definitions are so complicated they end up complicating the believer’s life! Faith is a way of life for the believer, but if you do not know what faith is and how to apply this force called faith then your life will not be as glorious as God wills it to be.

Victory in every arena of life should be a daily lifestyle for the believer. Be it at home or at the workplace, faith is the victory that overcomes the challenges of the world, making you a victor and not a victim. Whether in business or in your body, it is faith that sets you above.

Mark 9:23

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Faith is a key that opens up a world of possibilities for you. That which has been deemed impossible because of your background or limitations, by faith it shall be possible for you. In the kingdom of God there is no such thing as impossible. All things are possible as long as your faith is in place.

Everything that has been denied you, by faith you shall possess. Every door that has closed out your progress and prosperity, by faith shall be opened. Every mountain that is blocking your destiny, joy and success; by faith you shall remove out of your way. Everything that has been declared impossible for you, by faith shall become a reality. By faith you will enjoy a life of possibilities.

Romans 1:17

For there in is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written. The just shall live by faith. (Emphasis mine)

The righteousness of God, that is, His faithfulness in performing His word in our lives, is revealed by our faith in Him. As a believer, you don’t survive by luck or by the systems of this world, no. As a believer you live by faith. Your future is in your hands, not in the devil’s hands. Believe it or not, even God is not responsible for the outcome of your life. If He were we all would be living heaven on earth. At one time Jesus went to His home town of Nazareth and tried to heal the sick and work miracles in their lives but he could not, why?

Mark 6:5-6

And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.] [[And he marveled because of their unbelief.] And he went round about the villages, teaching. (Emphasis mine)

God Himself was moving among them but He could not do anything for them because of their lack of faith. God requires your partnership for His mighty power to be released in your life. He requires your partnership of faith. Your future is determined by you, not your background, environment or circumstances. Your future is in your faith, for this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

The purpose of this book is to clear the myths surrounding this mighty force called faith. To reveal to the believer how faith can be practically applied in life. This book aims to teach the believer how to turn the unseen to physical evidence. As we explore the mysteries of faith, open your heart to receive revelation from the Holy Spirit. Let the fires of your faith be ignited so as to set your world aflame. Dare to enter into this world of possibilities and prepare for a revolutionary transformation.

Chapter 1

THE MYSTERY OF FAITH

Ephesians 3:3

How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery ………

The kingdom of God is a kingdom of mysteries. Mysteries that can only be known by revelation and not education. One of those mysteries is the mystery of faith. In the beginning, when God created man, man knew everything and so lived a victorious life. A life of power, authority and dominion. Authority and dominion are a function of faith, and faith is a function of revelation knowledge; hence the cliché “knowledge is power”.

After the fall, man was separated from God, and with that separation he was disconnected from the source of revelation knowledge. This resulted in him losing authority and dominion on the earth. The reason there is so much fear on earth today is lack of this revelation knowledge for we fear what we do not know or understand.

No other Bible account explains this better than the story of Elisha and his servant in the book of Second Kings chapter 6.

The king of Syria had been planning ambushes on Israel. Each and every time they failed because of one man; Elisha. Elisha, because of living in constant revelation knowledge, always saw where the ambushes were and thus foiled the plans of the Syrians. It was upon discovering the source of their failures that the king of Syria sent an army to go and capture Elisha. Not an ordinary army mind you, but a great host.

When Elisha’s servant woke up in the morning, he was met by a terrible sight. Death stared him in the face. In fear and trepidation he ran to announce their demise to his master, but the man of God was not moved because he walked not by sight but by faith. He had revelation knowledge that neither his servant nor the Syrians had. Had this great Syrian host known what Elisha knew, they would have stayed home.

2 Kings 6:16

Fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

Elisha was not perturbed because he had already seen that his God was with him. Oh that all believers would be like Elisha. Unfortunately many, when under attack, whether by sickness, poverty, unemployment, etcetera; tend to react the same way the servant reacted. They react in fear. Whatever your attacker, know that they that be with you are more than whatever it is that is attacking you.

2 Kings 6:17

And Elisha prayed, and said, ‘LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”

It is not that the young man was blind. Naturally he had perfect eyesight, but spiritually he was as blind as a bat. He needed revelation knowledge. May God open your eyes that you may see the great deliverance He has for you. May you see that whenever He comes, He always answers by fire. May the eyes of your understanding, your spiritual eyes, be opened. May God give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Back to what happened at the fall.

With the fall came a change in the governance of the earth. Satan became the god of this world, the new source of revelation knowledge. All Satan reveals to people is weakness, sickness, poverty, unworthiness and every evil you can think of. The whole point being to spread fear and discouragement in the world. Satan has blinded people from receiving revelation knowledge, thereby keeping people from moving in power and authority. What the first Adam lost; the revelation of the mysteries of God, the second Adam, Jesus, came to restore.

John 1:4-5

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (Emphasis mine)

Jesus is the light, the revelation of God. He is our connection to the source of revelation. When we operate in the mysteries of God, especially the mystery of faith, the kingdom of darkness cannot understand us. They cannot understand how we manage to turn the tables and overcome them, the same way the king of Syria couldn’t understand how Israel knew their every move. When you operate in this mystery of faith, people will not understand how you prosper and succeed; how you achieve the impossible.

Now that we have seen that the mysteries of God are known by revelation, we can ask ourselves a good question, “What is the mystery of faith?”

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

The mystery of faith is that faith turns spirit into flesh; immaterial substance into physical. Faith turns bad circumstances into opportunities, curses into blessings; and that is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. This is the mystery we will be exploring in this book. We will be unlocking the eternal secrets that created the world and applying them in our lives in order to create, change or redirect our destinies.

Galatians 3:5

He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Miracles and breakthroughs are not a result of living under the law or fulfilling the law, miracles are a result of applying faith. Many people go to universities to study powerful courses like applied physics or applied mathematics, yet when they come out, life remains a struggle for them. They lack real power to make it in life. In God’s university, the church, and with this book as our textbook, we are here to study a course called “Applied Faith”. This course sets you over and above any university graduate when it comes to living a victorious life.

WHAT IS FAITH?

Hebrews 11:5-6

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that : for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. (Emphasis mine)

Without faith it is impossible to please God. By faith Enoch was taken away. Before he was taken away he had this testimony, that he pleased God. Therefore it is an obvious fact that faith is pleasing to God. Not the empty faith people are always talking about but the faith that produces supernatural moves, moves that reveal the power of our awesome God. I particularly like Enoch’s faith, because it worked in an opposite direction, it turned physical substance into spiritual substance. Enoch pulled a disappearing act. Now that is faith.

We can thus conclude that faith can make you disappear. What I mean is that faith can make you disappear from the devil’s map. He may look for you high and low, all for the purpose of afflicting you with his scourges, but he will not find you. By faith you will be translated from the kingdom of darkness and misery to the kingdom of God’s dear Son; heaven, right here on earth. It takes men of faith to walk far above the afflictions of life. Enlist yourself in this course of “Applied Faith” and soar above like the eagle.

But the question still remains, what is this thing called faith? Let us dissect this matter and derive its true meaning from the word of God itself.

Genesis 5:24

And Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him.

The book of Hebrews tells us that by faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death and Moses in the book of Genesis tells us that Enoch walked with God and was not. Let’s see what another prophet of God has to say about this matter so that we can complete this most intrinsic equation.

Amos 3:3

Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

I think this scripture seals it all. This scripture implies that Enoch walked with God because he was in agreement with God. So when we put this scripture together with Hebrews11 and Genesis5:24 and apply the mathematical principle of derivation, we come to the simple conclusion that:

FAITH IS BEING IN AGREEMENT WITH GOD.

Faith is simply agreeing with God, agreeing with what God says. When you are in agreement with Him you walk with Him. When you walk with Him you abide under the shadow of the Almighty and in that place, as long as the devil is concerned, you are not. Meaning you cease to exist. And that is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith, our being in agreement with God.

Friend, faith is not some magical formula nor is it a feeling. Faith is simply agreeing with God, whether you feel like it or not. Fear on the other hand, is agreeing with the devil, and who you agree with, you walk with. Who you walk with determines the kind of shadow you abide under. The question is: which shadow are you under? That could be the reason you are experiencing what you are experiencing in life.

Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

It is impossible to please God when we are not in faith because faithlessness is dis-agreeing with God. Faithlessness is calling God a liar. On the other hand faith is pleasing to God, why?

Romans 4:20

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

God is pleased by exploits of faith because exploits of faith bring Him glory. God yearns to express and manifest Himself on earth but can only do so through our exploits of faith. If you want to make Father God happy, allow Him to express Himself through your exploits of faith.

Now that we have established what faith is, the next problem to be tackled in this course is; “how do I get faith?”, or in other words, “how does faith come?”

FAITH COMES BY HEARING

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

We have established that faith is being in agreement with God. Common sense tells us that you can’t agree with God if you don’t know what God has said and is saying. You can only be in agreement with Him if you know what He says in His word. That is why faith can only come by hearing the word of God and not just any other word from anywhere. It is also common sense that the stronger your agreement with God the stronger your faith and the greater you victories.

Galations 3:5

He that ministers to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? (Emphasis mine)

Miracles, signs and wonders are a result of the hearing of faith. When you hear what God says about you or a particular situation and you agree with what God says and not what the situation is saying, the miraculous will happen. Miracles are not for a few special elite, they are for those who are willing to hear, and hear the word of God. There is a typical example of this in the Old Testament book of 1 Samuel 17.

The children of Israel were being threatened by a mammoth situation called Goliath with a gigantic mouth that was spewing forth insults to them and their God. Sadly the whole army of Israel chose to listen to what the situation was saying and the resulting effect was fear. A gripping and paralyzing fear that rendered them all powerless against one man. Enter David, a young man that chose to hear, and to hear by the word of God. The difference between David and the rest of Israel was that David understood the mystery of faith; he understood that the only way to obtain victory was through faith.

David refused to fight Goliath using conventional weapons; he instead chose the most formidable weapon of all, the hearing of faith. I strongly believe it is not the stone that killed Goliath, for a pebble from a small boys sling alone cannot penetrate a helmet of brass on a giant. David himself told us, and Goliath, what his weapon was.

1 Samuel 17:45

Then David said to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied*.* (Emphasis mine)

What gave a small boy such boldness and courage against such a behemoth of a man? It was the hearing of faith. David had heard of the exploits of the God of Israel from the Torah, the writings of Moses, and this hearing is what ignited the burning faith that brought Goliath down; faith in the name of the Lord of hosts. This is the victory that overcame Goliath, even David’s faith.

Now that we know what faith is and that it comes by hearing the word of God, what next? When it comes, how do I make it work?

In order to put our faith to work, we need to also understand that faith is like a hand. Faith is a hand that grabs blessings and victories in the spirit realm and pulls them into the natural realm. This understanding of faith being like a hand was understood by David, which is why I believe he said:

Psalm 18:34

He teaches my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by my arms.

It is this hand of faith that produces resounding victories in life. It is only the hand of faith and not of flesh that can break a bow of steel.

Ephesians 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ[*:*]

2 Peter 1:3

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

God has provided us with everything that we need but they are reserved for us in the spiritual realm where they are protected. This is where faith comes in. Faith is a spiritual hand that reaches into the spiritual to bring what you need into the physical. What then is this hand like? We have already established that faith comes by hearing, which is the arm of faith with five fingers that can be described thus:

Faith comes by HEARING,

What you hear, SEE,

What you see, SPEAK,

What you speak, SOW for

What you SOW for, STAND for

What you stand for, SEIZE.

Let me give a biblical demonstration of these five fingers of faith.

1 Kings 18:41-46

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

And it came to pass in the meanwhile, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

Elijah heard the sound of abundance of rain before there was any sign of rain; faith comes by hearing.

What he heard, he had the faith to see in the spirit.

What he saw in the spirit, he spoke out, “I hear the sound of abundance of rain.”

What he spoke he also sowed for. How and when?

1 Kings 18:33-35

And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water*, and pour* it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

And ; and he filled the trench also with water. (Emphasis mine)

The most valuable commodity in Israel at that time was water, and Elijah poured four barrels of it on the altar. He was sowing a seed for the much needed rain.

After seeing, speaking and sowing, Elijah did not sit down and relax. He went up Mount Carmel and got on his knees to pray into being that which he heard, saw, spoke and sowed for. Six times Elijah got a negative response when he asked if there was a cloud, but he stood on that which he believed in. Elijah did not lose hope but rather chose to stand on God’s word. This is why he managed to seize his breakthrough.

When he seized that which he believed God for he supplied the whole of Israel with an answer to their three and a half year problem of drought, hunger and suffering.

God had trained Elijah’s hand to war. Elijah exercised that hand of faith, resulting in the miraculous. In short we can say:

Elijah heard then saw then spoke then sowed then stood then seized.

This is the same way faith works in our lives, but sadly for many, they do not see any victories because they only end at hearing. Applied Faith is practical, and anything practical is a process. This is what the rest of the book is about, the process of faith. This book aims to teach us how to put the five fingers to work.

We also need to understand that every process can be completed as well as aborted along the way, even our faith. Let’s look at an example of each of these outcomes from scripture.

Matthew 14:28-30

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

For Peter the process of faith began well. He was achieving the desired results; he was walking on water, and that takes a lot of faith. Peter’s success was short lived because he chose to change who he was in agreement with. He chose to be in agreement with the storm and not with God, thus aborting his victory. Sadly Peter is not the only one guilty of aborting his breakthrough. Many saints are still choosing to abort their breakthroughs because of focusing on the challenges of life. What you need to understand is that faith will always be challenged, don’t abort the process.

On the other hand, as long as you remain in agreement with God, the process will be completed and your breakthrough will surely manifest.

Mark 8:23-25

And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw aught. And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.

After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

Even the Master’s faith was challenged. Jesus prayed for this man, believing for the blind eyes to be opened. When He asked for confirmation of the healing, the man responded by saying he could see partially. Jesus knew that the process of faith was incomplete, He laid hands on the man again and prayed, completing the process of faith and healing of the man.

Your faith will always be challenged by the circumstances around you. Do not abort the process. Many, when they see the storms arising to challenge their breakthrough, react like Peter. They shift their faith from God to the storm. May that not be your story. Follow Jesus’ example; do not abort the process of faith just because things are not going the way you want them to.

May the Holy Spirit open the eyes of your understanding to see, understand and apply this kind of living faith in your life.

Chapter 2

SEEING FAITH

Matthew 6:22

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Victory in life belongs to people whose eyes are sound. Victory is for those who see things the way God sees them. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. After hearing you need to SEE, in and by the spirit, what you have heard. We have already established that faith is being in agreement with God and as such, faith demands that we see things the way God sees them. Whatever situation you are going through you need to learn to see it the way God sees it, just as Elisha’s servant had to.

Faith calls for a change in perspective from the natural to the spiritual. It is important that at this point we understand that whether we know it or not we, like frogs, are amphibians; animals that can live both on land and in water. What does this mean? It means we operate in two realms, the spiritual and the natural. It is those that master life in the spirit that become masters of the universe.

2 Corinthians 5:7

(For we walk by faith, not by sight :)

This implies that we are not supposed to see things from a natural point of view. We are supposed to see them through the eyes of the spirit. For example, in God’s eyes, we have already been healed of every sickness by the stripes of Jesus. Therefore sicknesses should not be a part of us. We should always see ourselves as above sickness. We should always see healing and health in our bodies and sickness will be far from us. Whatever situation you are facing, see it as God sees it. See it the way the Bible says it is. Let us look at an example to help us understand.

Numbers 13:30-33

And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it,] _*is [*a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it]_] are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak,] _*which come [*of the giants: and we were]_] in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. (Emphasis mine)

How you see a situation will determine the outcome of the situation. In God’s eyes they had already defeated the giants, and He had told them so. In other words, they had the hearing of faith. Unfortunately, when it came to seeing the victory in the spirit they were blind. They had heard God telling them time and time again to go in and possess the land; that He had given them the victory, but they were not in agreement with God. Because of this, they saw the situation differently and ultimately, the situation turned out differently to what it should have been. How sad, because that is the case with many believers today.

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak,] _*which come [*of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.’]_]

The first mistake these children of God made is the same mistake many are making today. They focus on the giants and not on the God of the entire universe. “There we saw the giants…” What giant are you seeing? What situation is sending shivers down your spine? Is your giant really a giant? Is it bigger than God?

“We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” The way you see yourself is the way the giants will see you. That is why the devil likes exaggerating the situations we go through. He tries to make us see ourselves as grasshoppers and thus he gains the upper hand. In every situation, be like David; see the size of your God, not the size of Goliath. Your situation is not as big as it looks; it’s just full of hot air. The way out of your situation is to open your eyes and see “correctly”.

Jeremiah 1:11-12

*Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah,_ [[what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the Lord unto me,]_] : for I will hasten my word to perform it.*] (Emphasis mine)

What do you see? Have you seen well? Do you see what the word of God says about your situation? The way you see will determine the way out for you. It will determine the way God will move on your behalf. What do you see? Do you see victory or defeat?

Hebrews 12:2

Looking unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

That is where your eyes should be, on Jesus. Our faith originates in Him and finds its fulfillment in Him. He endured the cross so that we may have victory through Him. As long as our eyes are on Him, nothing can overcome us. A typical example is the story of Peter walking on water in the book of Matthew 14:28-30

Wrong focus turned a miraculous moment into a near disaster. Had Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, he would not have sunk. Unfortunately he did what many people do, he looked at the winds. Never focus your eyes on the winds of life, look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Another classic example is that of the rebellious children of Israel in the wilderness.

Numbers 21:8-9

And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

This is looking unto Jesus in its truest sense. For them to survive they had to see the snake, symbolizing the devil, defeated on the cross. Whatever it is that is biting you and causing you pain in life, see it destroyed on the cross and its bite will be neutralized by the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross. Every curse, sickness, failure, poverty was destroyed by Jesus on the cross. See it and obtain your deliverance. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

Still struggling to believe what I am saying? Let me give you another example in Abraham, this you have to believe.

Romans 4:3

For what saith the Scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Romans 4:18-21

Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

*And being not weak in faith,_ [[he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:*]_]

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. (Emphasis mine)

Abraham believed against all odds. The situation and the world told him it was impossible for him to be a father, let alone the father of many nations. After all, he was too old and his body as good as dead. But Abraham did not look at the situation. He even refused to look at his own body, dead as it was. Instead, Abraham knew he had heard from God. He chose to be in agreement with God and he chose to see himself as God saw him, fertile, and not an impotent old man. He saw himself as the father of nations.

Romans 4:19

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb. (Emphasis mine)

Child of God faith is a choice; a choice to agree either with your situation or to agree with the God of the universe.

Isaiah 60:4-5

*Lift up thine eyes round about,_ [[and see: all they gather themselves together,]_] : thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at*] thy side.

, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee. (Emphasis mine)

What you see is what comes to you. Lift up your eyes; do not look down at the problem, for God is doing a new thing. It is only when you “see” that you will be able to flow with Him, flowing in blessing and abundance. Friend faith does not see the deadness of the situation, faith sees what God says. Do not consider the situation, the sickness, the breaking marriage, the delinquent child or whatever storm is blowing in your life. Just look at the unfailing promises of God. Do not stagger at the promises of God and do not be shaken when the road is rocky. Like Abraham, be fully persuaded that what God has promised, He is able to fulfill.

So dear child of God faith comes by hearing, but you need to see with the eyes of your spirit, what you have heard by the hearing of faith. You need to learn to see your breakthrough while it is still in the spirit, for only then can you receive it in the physical.

The underlying principle in all this is: WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU BECOME.

Genesis 30:37-39

And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chestnut tree; and peeled white streaks in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.

And he set the rods which he had peeled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink. And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ring streaked, speckled, and spotted.

We always conceive and give birth to what we see in the spirit. The goats saw white and green, therefore they gave birth to spotted and streaked kids. I believe had they had a gene that carries the colour green some of their kids might have been green.

The truth is you always become what you see yourself as. Do not see yourself as a grasshopper or a failure. Do not focus on problems but rather fix your eyes on Jesus. That is why those who live in fear end up experiencing their fears. They bring into the physical realm what they are seeing and experiencing in the spiritual realm. Let me give you an example from our ultimate source of authority, the Bible:

Job 3:25

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.

Job was always seeing disaster therefore he conceived and gave birth to disaster. I believe this is what gave Satan the legal ground to afflict him and God allowed it because He does not violate His own principles. I believe this is why bad things happen to good people. The thing they greatly fear, the thing they constantly see in their spirit, they give birth to.

Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

It is not enough to hear what God has for you. You need to see it in the spirit, visualize it in your mind.

“Those things which are revealed belong unto us”. This means as long as you are able to see it you can have it. Revelation means seeing with the eyes of your spirit. As long as you can see your breakthrough in your spirit or mind, it will surely come to pass.

Genesis 11:6

And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do*.* (Emphasis mine)

As long as you can imagine it you can receive it. Everything that exists on this planet started off as an imagination; from humans in the mind of God to buildings in the mind of the architect. Dare to open the eyes of your spirit, dare to imagine.

HOW DO I CHANGE WHAT I SEE?

It takes effort to change your paradigm, or the way you see things, because you have been programmed to see that way for a long time and frankly old habits die hard.

Habakkuk 2:1

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

Prayer

“I will stand upon my watch….” This statement implies a place of prayer. For you to hear what God is speaking about your situation, spend time with Him in prayer. You can’t be in agreement with Him if you do not take time with Him to hear what He has to say.

Genesis 18:16-17

And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way.

And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;

If you are a serious follower of God like Abraham, taking every opportunity to be with God, God cannot keep anything from you. He will share the future with you. He will show you His plans, and that alone should be enough to change what you see.

Spend time with Him in prayer and He will surely reveal things to you. He will change your focus.

Lift up your eyes

Psalm 121:1

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

Learn to take your eyes off the problem and lift them “unto the hills from whence cometh^”^ your help. When you focus on the problem it brings discouragement and fear thus opening up for more problems.

Romans 4:19

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb

Abraham took his eyes of his body. He refused to see Sarah’s womb as dead. Instead he lifted up his eyes to the hills from where he knew that his help was coming. Remove your eyes from the earth and lift them up to heaven for that is where your solution lies.

Meditate on the word

Habakkuk 2:1

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me*, and what I shall answer when I am reproved*. (Emphasis mine)

Be ever watchful to see what God is saying about your situation. It is not enough hear what He is saying, SEE WHAT HE IS SAYING. How?

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Meditate on the word of God day and night. Think deeply and constantly about the word of God until it becomes a part of you, until all you can see when you close your eyes is the word of God.

I like to use the humble cow as an example of this. A cow will graze the whole day, filling itself up with the nutritious grass it needs for its survival. When it goes back “home” for the night, it regurgitates what it was feeding on during the day and starts chewing it again, making it easier to digest. Do not try this with your food, but I strongly suggest you do this with the word of God. Do not just read the Bible and forget about it. Regurgitate what you read, especially the promises of God, and chew them over in your mind and then swallow them in your spirit.

Many people do not receive their breakthroughs, even after much sincere prayer, because they do not see it happening for them. They do not think good things can ever happen to them. Learn to meditate on the promises of God. Learn to see them happening in your life. Make it a conscious habit to see yourself living out those promises, living the good life.

1 Corinthians 2:9-12

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

How do we get to receive and experience the good things God has prepared for us? It is by meditating on the promises of God. God has blessed us in so many ways and with so many blessings but for them to come to pass we need to learn to see them in and by the spirit.

Acts 10:19

While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

It is as you meditate on what God has said that the Holy Spirit will speak to you and give you instructions for your breakthrough.

Proverbs 23:7

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:

What you meditate on is what you become. You become in life what you are in your mind. Meditate on the blessings and the breakthroughs and they will surely come to pass in your life. As you learn to see it in your heart, you become it.

Chapter 3

SPEAKING FAITH

Habakkuk 2:1

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

And so dear friend, faith comes by hearing, after you hear what God has to say about your situation, see what He has said. But do not just stop at seeing for that is just the first finger on the hand of faith. After seeing what God says answer the situation, speak out what you are believing God for. Correct the situation with your mouth. This brings us to the second finger on the hand of faith, what you see, speak.

Hebrews 11:3

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Your world is framed or shaped by the words you speak.

John 1:1, 14

In the beginning was the word … And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

So we see that the things that are seen are not made by visible things. The things that are visible are made from things that are invisible. Everything has its beginning in the word. The word spoken in faith always ends up becoming flesh that is, it becomes physical or tangible. It is this word that becomes flesh whose glory we behold, that is, we see the goodness and power of God as we see that which once was invisible become visible.

The same way God framed the world by His mouth is the same way we frame our worlds by our mouths, for He gave us His own Spirit.

2 Corinthians 4:13

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

We have the same spirit of faith that God has and for us to produce the same results as His, we must do what He does with His faith: speak. Call those things that are not as if they are and they will surely be.

Jeremiah 1:9-10

Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

The key to producing results with your mouth revealed. “I have put my words in thy mouth.” Fill up your heart with the word of God and release it through your mouth. Pull out, tear down and destroy everything that is troubling you. Speak to that mountain to move out of your way. Command the storms to become still for God has put His word, His power, His authority in your mouth. Your mouth is not just for eating and gossiping, no. Your mouth is a tool for changing your life.

Luke 21:15

For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

Believe it or not your mouth is a weapon for contending with every situation that is your adversary. Whether it is a sickness, poverty or a family problem; whatever your adversary, nothing can resist the words that you speak in faith. Do not take the fact that you have His Spirit and word in you for granted. It is these two factors that make you undeniable concerning anything you speak; undefeatable in any battle or challenge you face. “All your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist” you.

Jeremiah 1:11

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.

Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

Once again, faith is not just about hearing the word of God, faith goes beyond that. Faith is an active process that requires you among other things to see (actively meditate) your desired outcome, and after seeing you have to make the effort to speak out in faith your desired outcome. When you see well, go on to speak well. Speak the word that He has put in your mouth and He will definitely hasten to perform it.

Joel 3:10

Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. (Emphasis mine)

“Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” The problem with many is that they speak their weaknesses. They speak the problems they see with their eyes and not the solution they see in the word of God. As long as you speak out the problem you give it power and enforcing it to torment you forever.

At this point we need to understand the difference between truth and fact, for it is lack of this understanding that causes many to fail to speak well.

John 8:32

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

We need to know the truth, for it is truth that sets us free from our troubles. Let us take poverty for example. It may be a fact that I have nothing to my name; no money, no food, sleeping under a bridge and rags on my back for clothes. It may well be a fact, but it is not the truth. Fact is not truth, for facts can change but truth is eternally unalterable. The truth is that by His grace He came to this earth poor so that I through His poverty can be rich.

When I see that truth and speak it out in faith, I change the fact of my poverty into the truth of His prosperity. So you see dear friend, the world you are living in is framed by the words you are constantly speaking. If you are not happy with your world of poverty, sickness, failure, depression, failing marriage; change it with your mouth. Do not just sit there wallowing in pity, rise up and do what it takes to change your circumstances. You may not be able to change the past but you are definitely the architect of your future. See your future the way you want it to be and then speak it into being.

Proverbs 18:20

A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.

Your belly is not satisfied with food because food alone does not constitute a fulfilled life. This may look like an oxymoron, but it is a principle that runs the world; a man’s belly is filled by what comes out of his mouth. And I always thought it is the other way round. I thought my belly is filled by what I put in my mouth! The truth of the matter is that it is what comes out of your mouth that produces the life you enjoy. Your life is shaped by the words you speak, never forget that. You are where you are in life today because of the words you spoke yesterday.

Proverbs 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

What are you speaking? Are you speaking death to your life, health, money, marriage and family? Or are you speaking life? Those that love life speak well of themselves. They speak life to every good thing in their lives and death to all curses, sicknesses, poverty and whatever problems are dogging them. So many times we expect God to work by Himself in turning our lives around yet He will be waiting on us to do our part as well. Let us learn this lesson from one of the writings of the Apostle Paul.

Romans 10:6

But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down *from above*:)

Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)

In other words, there is no need to look high and low for Christ to come down to come and save you from your troubles. You should not expect Christ to personally come down and deal with your situation. We need to be like the centurion whose son was sick and dying. On meeting Jesus and explaining his predicament, Jesus decided to go and lay His hands on the sick boy. But this devout man knew and understood how faith works. He knew that he did not need to physically take Jesus to his house in order for his problem to be solved. Instead he said to Jesus, “just send the word and I believe my son will be healed”. This man understood the power of the spoken word and as a result his son was healed the instant Jesus released the word of healing. As Jesus was hung on the cross He cried out, “it is finished”, declaring the end of satanic rule in your life. As He ascended up to heaven He said, “all power and authority is given unto Me, go therefore …..”, and in the book of Luke He tells us:

Luke 10:19

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

This means that the same power and authority Jesus has, we have. The same way Jesus could send His word to bring healing and change to situations is the same way we should send our words of faith and authority to bring change in our lives.

Psalm 110:1-2

The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

The Lord, God the Father, said to my Lord, God the Son, sit at My right hand till……When did this happen? After the cross when Jesus resurrected. When Jesus died, He crushed Satan. He destroyed all the works of the devil, including that challenge you are facing. That is why He cried out, “it is finished” as he hung on the cross. When He resurrected Jesus went to heaven and sat down at the right hand of the Father.

Mark 16:19

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Jesus is in heaven, sitting at the right hand of the Father waiting for His enemies to be made His footstool.

Acts 3:19-21

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. (Emphasis mine)

Jesus will remain in heaven until His enemies have been made His footstool. Until the times of restitution spoken of by the prophets are fulfilled and it is we who have been given that mandate as the body of Christ. Jesus has already done His part of destroying powers and principalities. It is up to us to do our part of stepping on them and making them His footstool. How do we do that?

Romans 10:8

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

God has put His word in our mouths as He did with Jeremiah. He has given us the word of faith; a double edged sword. That word has the power to destroy sicknesses, curses, poverty, and etcetera. Every problem that may arise in your life has to fall by the edge of this all powerful sword.

Revelations 12:11

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

In life we overcome, among other things, by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony. Most of the time we use the blood of Jesus in spiritual warfare and think that is enough, thus we never gain complete victories. The blood alone is not enough; you need to use the double edged sword as well, the word of your testimony. Remember, you overcome in life by your mouth. So what is the word of our testimony?

The word of our testimony is all that Jesus has done for us. Read your Bible and discover the great benefits of being in the kingdom of God. Those benefits and blessings are the testimony you should be declaring over your life. True, your life at present may not look as blessed and glorious as the Bible says, but as you declare your testimony you release the power of the word over your life. You will be sowing the seeds of blessing in your life. The word of God does not work until it is released and it is only released into your life by your mouth. But before we can speak the word effectively we have to do something with it first.

Before a gun can shoot, you must load it with bullets in the magazine first, so too it is with the word of God. The word of God is the bullet we shoot out of our mouth, which is the gun. But what is the magazine in which we load our bullets?

Romans 10:8

The word is nigh thee,] _*even [*in thy mouth, and in thy heart:]_]

We must load the word of God in our hearts first before we can shoot it out like a deadly bullet. It is good to read out scripture as we pray and wage warfare but it is better to speak it out of our hearts.

Matthew 12:34-35

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

“Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks”. You cannot release out of your mouth that which is not there in your heart. Fill your heart with the word of God and as you release it through your mouth it becomes reality in your life. You produce in life that which you sow into your heart. What are you filling your heart with, good or evil? That may well be why you are producing what you are producing and reaping what you are reaping.

Romans 10:8

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

What is this word of faith that Paul was preaching?

Romans 10:9-10

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Paul’s preaching was that we should confess with our mouth that which we believe in our heart. Every time the devil raises his ugly head in your life, speak the testimony of the cross. Declare the Lordship of Jesus in your life and situation. Remind the devil that Jesus destroyed him on the cross and that he has no power over your life.

Many times this scripture has been underutilized because of the notion that it is only to be used concerning salvation from sins, but dear friend, this scripture goes beyond that. After you are saved from your sins you can use the same principle to be saved from your earthly afflictions. Let us dissect this scripture and draw out the life principles in it.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth”. The word “confess” used in this scripture is the Greek word ‘homologeo’. It is a compound of two words; homo, which means one or same and logos which means word. Simple addition tells us that when we put these two words together it means one word or same word. In essence it means saying the same thing with God. It means agreeing with God.

Whatever you are going through in life, no matter how tough; say the same thing as God is saying concerning the situation. Overcome by the word of your testimony. Whatever the sickness, the problem or storm blowing in your life; say the same thing as God is saying about that situation. This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our words of faith.

The problem with many people is that they do not say the same thing as God; instead, they choose to say the same thing as the problem. They choose to be in agreement with the devil. Who you are in agreement with determines your confession and your confession determines the kind of life you will enjoy.

What does God say about that situation? He says you are more than a conqueror so say the same thing. Believe it in your heart and confess it with your mouth and victory will surely be yours.

Romans 10:10

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

The word salvation in this scripture is the Greek word ‘soteria’ and it means; rescue or safety, save, salvation, health. It also means deliverance; deliverance from enemies, poverty, sickness, affliction.

The word translated save in verse nine is the Greek word ‘sozo’, and it means to save, deliver, protect, heal, preserve, do well and to be made whole.

And so you see, Romans 10:9-10 is not just talking about the salvation of your soul and spirit. It is also talking about your salvation from every affliction and problem you encounter in life. It is talking about doing well and being made whole. Whether you live in victory or defeat, the choice is yours. God has given you weapons of victory, namely His Son Jesus, His word and your mouth. That is all you need to live over and above in this life.

2 Corinthians 4:13

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.

The same spirit of faith that God operated in is the same spirit of faith we are to operate in. Just as He believed and spoke the world into being, we too should believe and speak out that which we want to see in our lives.

Psalm 82:5

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

As long as you do not know and understand who you are as a child of God you will continue to walk in darkness and confusion in life. Who are you?

Psalm 82:6

I have said, Yeare gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

God Himself declares that you, His child are a god. Just as a donkey gives birth to a donkey, God too gives birth to gods. You have the same spirit as His, understand this and live a life of victory. If you fail to grasp and believe this then:

Psalm 82:7

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

May this not be you. May you discover that you are in the god class. Catch the revelation that you are a child of the Most High God and endued with His power and authority. Wield your double edged sword with power and honor.

Psalm 149:5 – 9

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand;

*To execute vengeance upon the heathen,_ and [[*punishments upon the people;]_]

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD

Chapter 4

SEED FAITH

1 Kings 18:2

And Elijah went to show himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.

The land of Samaria was experiencing a terrible famine. Life was so unbearable even the king himself was forced to become a shepherd looking for green pastures for his livestock. Water and food were scarce, so scarce they had become as precious as gold itself. Life can become as unbearable for us as it was for these people but thank God we have a key that they did not have, a breakthrough key that opens heavens.

1 Kings 18:30-38

And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.

And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice*, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou* art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. (Emphasis mine)

Elijah wanted to prove to the people that the God they had abandoned was the true God, and he was going to do this by becoming a rain maker. Elijah understood that for anything to come down from heaven, something must first go up. For you to receive anything from heaven you must practice the principle of seed faith; sowing for what you are believing God for.

The first thing Elijah did was to rebuild the broken down altar. The people were so backslidden they had neglected the altar of the Lord, the source of their heavenly blessings. Never neglect the altar of offerings, do not despise the giving covenant we have with God for neglecting it will result in the heavens being shut above you. Repair the broken altars in your life.

Secondly, Elijah dug a trench around the altar, why? He was making room for a special offering, a seed he was going to sow in faith for what he was expecting from God. On top of the usual offering of a cow Elijah sowed a seed of water, priceless precious water. Elijah was applying the principle of seed faith. He was sowing an above normal offering, water; the most precious commodity at that time. What are you believing God to do in your life? Dig a trench; make room for a seed offering. Go beyond the usual offering and sow a seed for what you are believing God for.

After rebuilding the altar and sowing a special seed offering Elijah prayed and God answered by fire. God never ignores prayer that is preceded by a seed offering. Faith is incomplete without a seed, and incomplete faith is ineffective. Learn to sow seeds in faith for what you are believing God for. Seeds that move God to answer by fire. Another example of the principle of seed faith is that of faithful Abraham.

Genesis 22:1-3

And it came to pass after these things that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and cleaved the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

Abraham had waited twenty five years for the fulfillment of God’s promise to him: “you will be a father of many nations”. Finally things were moving, he was now a father and the promised son was growing well. But God being a God of principle knew that He needed Abraham’s partnership to make the promise a reality, and so He came down to ask Abraham for a seed. God asked Abraham for the most precious thing in his hands; his beloved son. I like Abraham; he truly was a man of faith. He believed that whatever he put in the hands of God, God would give it back multiplied

Hebrews 11:17-19

*By faith Abraham, when he was tried,_ [[offered up Isaac: and*]_] he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son*,[*Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:]

Accounting that God was able to raise him ; from whence also he received him in a figure. (Emphasis mine)

Everyone who receives a promise from God must be prepared to sow a seed, prepared to release something precious from their hands. Even though God promises, the release of the promise is triggered by an offering. Is this buying or bribing God? No, this is how God determines those who are really serious. It is how He makes sure His children do not get robbed of their heritage but receive what He has in store for them. Seed sowing is a key God has given His children so they can access the treasures of the Kingdom.

“From whence also he received him in a figure”, this means Abraham realized that Isaac was born out of the deadness of his situation, the deadness of his and Sarah’s bodies. He knew that He who had caused life to come out of a dead situation was able to do it again. Abraham understood that Isaac was a seed, and for a seed to germinate it must die first. This is where many fall short. They can never sacrifice the little they have in their hands for a greater blessing. They do not believe that He who gave them that little can multiply it if they put it in His hands. If you want something to come down from heaven, something must go up from your hands first.

Matthew 14:17-21

And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

He said, Bring them hither to me.

And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.

And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

The people had followed Jesus into the wilderness to hear Him preach, they were in a three day conference. At the end of the three days they were hungry and too weak to walk back into the village for food. Where could they get food for five thousand men plus women and children? Divine intervention was needed and Jesus knew exactly what to do to provoke heaven to release the much needed provisions.

“And he….. took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven…..”

Jesus took the five loaves and two fish and put them in God’s hands and the results were phenomenal. He knew that for something to come down from heaven something had to go up first. Whatever you put in God’s hands never remains the same. Seed faith never fails. Abraham understood this principle and so he willingly gave his son as a seed for greater things.

Genesis 22:9-18

And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here*am* I.

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only [+:+]

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (Emphasis mine)

As with Elijah, the first thing Abraham did was to build an altar. You must have an altar where you lay down your sacrifice. You must have a local church you call home; that is your altar. The end result of Abraham’s sacrificial giving was that his precious son was spared and God became more than God to him. God became Jehovah Jireh to him, the God who supplies. Never expect God to be your Jireh, your provider, if you are not willing to do what Abraham did; sacrifice. It is this kind of faith, the kind that sows, that causes the heavens to open upon our lives.

“That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven”. God was swearing to Abraham, He was in fact saying, “Because you have given, nothing will stop me from fulfilling my promise to you. I will definitely do it for you.” The promises of God are guaranteed by a seed. You may hear the word of God, see your breakthrough in the spirit, speak it and believe for it to come to pass but without a seed, heaven will still remain shut. Nothing can come down unless something goes up first.

Ecclesiastes 11:3

If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth

Rain cannot come down unless the clouds are full and the clouds cannot be full of rain unless water leaves the earth in the form of vapor. This natural principle applies in the spirit as well, for most natural principles are mirrors of spiritual principles. Unless something evaporates from your life heaven cannot release its showers of blessings upon you. The more you release from your hands the more your cloud fills up.

Ecclesiastes 11:3

…….and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.

What does this mean? It simply means things do not happen by themselves, they are made to happen. That which you need to see happen in your life will not happen until you make it happen. How? Fill your cloud with rain, that is, by sowing a seed for it in faith. Friend, these are the mysteries of God that He has kept from the world but is revealing to us His children; mysteries that will cause us to operate on a higher level. These mysteries will cause you to achieve mysterious results in life. It is these mysteries that will make you a sign and a wonder.

Ecclesiastes11:4

He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

Never look at external circumstances to determine when and what to sow, for we walk not by sight but by faith. This is why this principle is called seed faith; seeds have to be sown in faith. In the natural a farmer sows seed in faith for it is not certain that the seed will result in a harvest; so too it is in the spirit. At times all a farmer has left is seed and if he decides to eat that seed in times of hunger, he would have ruined his entire future. Your future is in the seed you are carrying. Do not eat your future. A certain man in the Bible observed circumstances and ended up eating his future by selling his seed.

Genesis 25:29-33

And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:

And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red *pottage*; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

Esau’s birth right was his seed to a great future. With it he was the rightful heir of all Isaac’s wealth and blessing. It was something he should have carefully guarded. Unfortunately for Esau, his stomach was more important to him than his future. He ended up trading his seed for bread and beans because of observing the circumstance; hunger. Many people blame and accuse Jacob of stealing Esau’s blessing but that is a gross error. The truth of the matter is that Esau is the one who was trying to steal the blessing from Jacob, for by selling the birth right to Jacob, he had automatically given him the blessing as well. The blessing went with the birth right and Esau, by foolishly observing circumstances, ended up losing more than he had bargained for. When you devour your seed because of observing current conditions you end up losing much more than the seed. You lose your entire future. Is it really worth it?

There is another man in scriptures who was wise enough not to observe external conditions and ended up securing a glorious future for himself. This man is none other than Esau’s father, Isaac.

Genesis 26:1-4

And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.

And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:

Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham thy father;

And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

There was a severe famine in the land and everyone was heading down to Egypt for there the Nile River guaranteed bountiful harvests. But for Isaac, this was not God’s best. God’s best for Isaac was seed faith, the mysteries of God that produce mysterious results.

Genesis 26:12-14

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:

For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

Isaac obeyed the voice of God and not the voice of the situation and he ended up reaping a harvest in a severe famine. That is the power of seed faith. When you apply the principles of God you can never lose, no matter the circumstances you are in. It is because of the great harvest that Isaac became a wealthy man, for with the great harvest he traded grain for livestock. Seed faith resulted in Isaac becoming the greatest man in the land of the Philistines, the envy of all around him. As it was for Isaac, so it can be for you. Seed faith will make you the envy of those around you. Take a step of faith and sow a seed for the future you desire.

“But I don’t understand how the seed will create my future”, you may say.

Ecclesiastes 11:5

As thou knowest not what is *the way of the spirit,_ nor how the bones do grow [[*in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.]_]

The things of God do not require you to understand how they work for them to work for you. All you need do is apply them and God will work out the rest, which is why it is called faith. All God requires is your participation. He requires is your seed sown in faith. Let us conclude by going to the conclusion of Abraham’s story.

Genesis 22:14

And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-Jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

It was on the premise of sowing a seed in faith that God manifested Himself as Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, in Abraham’s life. God can never be Jehovah Jireh in your life unless you practice the principle of seed faith. Without your seed God is powerless to release His blessings in your life. Without seed your future is bleak.

Ecclesiastes 11:1

Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

Your seed may leave your hand but it will never leave your life. You will always find it in the form of a harvest after many days.

Chapter 5

STANDING FAITH

Ephesians 6:10

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armor of God,_ [that ye may be able to stand] _*against the wiles of the devil.* (Emphasis mine)

Ephesians 6:13

*Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,_ [[and having done all, to stand*]_]. (Emphasis mine)

Life is a battle between good and evil and victory is only through faith.

Psalm 18:34

He teaches my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by my arms.

It is those who use the hand of faith that emerge victorious in this battle, and that is what this book is all about; teaching our hands of faith to war and break demonic bows of steel. The one finger on our hand of faith that needs to be strengthened is this instruction from Paul: “that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”.

After you have done all, after you have heard the hearing of faith, after you have seen in the spirit the breakthrough, after speaking it out and declaring it and after sowing your seed in faith, stand; hold your ground. What am I talking about?

1 Peter 5:7-10

Casting all your care upon him; for hecareth for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist steadfast in the faith*, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.*

*But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus,_ [[after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle*]_] you*.* (Emphasis mine)

In this battle that we are fighting the enemy will bombard our minds with the worries and cares of this world. He uses the divide and conquer tactic in order to overcome us. How does he do this? He puts so much pressure on us by afflicting us with problem after problem so that we stop focusing on God, we drift away from Him, and once that happens he wins.

No matter what afflictions come your way, no matter how long you have been in that situation, stand. Even if it may look like your situation is not changing, stand. Do not give up. “But I have heard by the hearing of faith, I have visualized my breakthrough, I have declared it into being and I have sown a sacrificial seed in faith and it looks like my situation is not getting better, it is even getting worse” Stand. After having done all, stand.

There are times in war when all you have to do to win is stand and let your enemy wear himself out, the same applies in this our war of faith. Do not let the devil devour you, rather, him “resist steadfast in the faith”. The word resist implies the same thing as stand, stand against the devil in faith and the result:

1 Peter 5:10

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.

After you resist, after you stand, the God of all grace will make you perfect. He will establish you in your blessing and settle every issue that has been standing against you.

Standing is the most difficult part of faith. This is where many people lose the battle. May that not be your story, may yours be a story of victory.

James 4:7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

If there is a group of people that the devil fears it is those who are able to resist him, those who are able to stand against his wiles. Stand and he will flee. He is like a dog that comes charging but when it sees its victim standing his ground it stops and slinks away in shame. Put the devil to shame, stand against him in faith; faith in your God.

James 1:2-4

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations; Knowing*this,* that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Is this guy mad? How can he tell us to rejoice when we fall into lots of problems? No, he is not crazy; he just understands an important fact about faith:

FAITH IS NOT FAITH UNTIL IT IS TESTED

Your faith will always be tested and it is in these times of testing that you have to stand. It is these tests of faith that produce patience in us, a complete trust in God which is real genuine faith. It is this kind of faith, the kind that is able to stand in trials, that works perfection in us. Perfection not only in character but in health, wealth, joy, peace, family and every other area of your life. So brethren, count it all joy and stand.

Another reason for standing is so that we allow God to do His work. Many a time we run around trying to be our own saviors or deliverers, hindering God in the process. We behave like a hungry toddler running in front of mother who is trying to prepare something to eat for baby. The food will take longer to prepare because of the hindrance. This is why the Bible tells us,

Psalm 46:9-10

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

It is God that makes wars cease in our lives. We may fret and worry but unless we stand and let God be God, the wars will continue. The phrase, “be still”, implies the same thing as Paul’s command, “stand”. It is only after we are still, trusting God to do His part, that we get to know that He is God, how? He will arise on our behalf and deliver us from our troubles and in the process He will be exalted in the earth. God will never share His glory with anyone, which is why as long as you try to be your own savior, He will stand aside. He will let you run around until you finally surrender all to Him. Let us look at a living example of a people that got their victory by standing.

Exodus 14:8-14

And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with a high hand.

But the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, before Baal-zephon.

And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

And they said unto Moses, Becausethere were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? Wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

*And Moses said unto the people,_ [[Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD,*]_] which he will show to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever.

The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. (Emphasis mine)

Some situations are hardened by God Himself so that He may show Himself strong on our behalf. When the children of Israel saw the massive Egyptian army, they were filled with fear and even became so confused they started to compare the graves of Egypt to the graves in the wilderness. Never allow the problems that are dogging you to steal your peace and sanity. Keep your head and your faith. What was God’s solution for this predicament? The same solution for your predicament, “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will show to you today”. Do not be afraid, stand. All God requires from you is your faith. All He needs from you is the faith to stand against your adversaries and believe for His saving power to work in your life. It is only those with the faith to stand that see the salvation of the Lord, and when God saves, “the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever”. True deliverance comes only when you stand and let God be God.

How do I stand?

Remember, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. The word you have heard in faith should be the anchor of your faith, the rock you stand on. Refuse to be swayed by circumstances. Hold on to the word of God and stand on His promises. Moses requested for God to manifest Himself so that he could see Him, and God’s response?

Exodus 33:21-22

*And the LORD said, Behold,_ there is [[*a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:]_]

And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by[*:*]

If you want to see God in your life, you have to stand on the rock, not an ordinary rock but the Rock of ages.

1 Corinthians 10:4

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

The rock is Christ, and John tells us that this same Christ is the word. Stand on the Rock, also known as the Word of God according to the book of Revelations. As long as you stand on the word of God nothing will move you, not even pharaoh and his menacing host. When you stand on the word the miraculous will happen for you, just ask Peter.

Luke 5:4-6

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net broke. (Emphasis mine)

Peter and Company were busy washing their nets after a disappointing night of fishing when the Rock visited them and told them to cast their nets in broad daylight. Now if you know anything about this kind of fishing you will know that it only works at night, meaning the instruction from Jesus was foolish. But fortunately for them, Peter understood the power of standing on the word; “nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net”. Despite the wrong conditions for the venture, despite the failures of the previous night, despite the multitude that was waiting to laugh at them should they fail in this foolishness, they chose to stand on the word of God. The result was net breaking.

You can never fail when you stand on the Rock, when you stand on the word of God and refuse to be discouraged. Miracles are for those who are not moved by circumstances but by the word of God. Enlist yourself in the army of world changers. Choose to stand on the word of God and refuse to be moved. That is what the father of faith did, and because of that the world was drastically changed and nations were born.

Romans 4:18-21

Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb:

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Abraham did not look at his old haggard body. He was not even moved by the deadness of Sara’s womb. All that mattered to him was what God had said. Now that is some serious standing. Abraham did not waver but stood his ground, even when his own body was mocking him. He was strong in faith, giving glory to God instead of listening to what the situation was saying. Elijah understood this too and that is why he became the answer to the three and a half year drought in Israel.

1 Kings 18:41-45

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing.

Elijah heard the sound of abundance of rain by the hearing of faith. He saw the rain in his spirit and spoke out what he saw to the king. Knowing that he had already sown a seed for the rain, he was prepared to stand on the word of God. Elijah went up the mountain and started to pray for the rain. Six times he asked for a weather report and six times he was told the skies were clear with no signs of rain, it was going to be another blazing hot day.

But Elijah refused to give up because of the external circumstances; he went back on his knees and prayed, standing on the word of God. Sometimes you may pray for days, weeks, months and even years with no visible results. Do not give up; stand on the word of God. Refuse to be discouraged. Stand your ground and continue praying until your cloud of rain appears in the sky.

Many times people fail to realize their dreams because they give up easily. They fail to stand for what they believe in. This is war and in war the enemy will always resist you. Be prepared for the resistance and be prepared to stand on the word of God. Despite the criticism, despite the discouragement, despite negative circumstances, stand. You will surely see the salvation of the Lord.

Friend, this is how you can change your life. Be strong in faith and do not waver. Stand on the word of God and two things will definitely happen. The first thing is that the devil will flee from you and the second thing to happen is your breakthrough.

Stand dear friend, and having done all, stand.

Chapter 6

SEIZING FAITH

Matthew 11:12

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

The kingdom of heaven is being resisted by the devil and his minions and it is only those that will rise up and violently take what is rightfully theirs that will enjoy the goodness of heaven right here on earth. Now, this is not a physical violence we are talking about, but aggressiveness in prayer, works, and prophetic acts. For faith without prayer, works and prophetic acts is dead. We will pick up this chapter where we left off in the last chapter, with Elijah atop Mount Carmel.

PRAYER

1 Kings 18:41-45

And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing.

Through aggressive prayer, Elijah reached out into the heavens and brought down the rains. He seized his breakthrough. Prayer is an interesting spiritual exercise that many people do not understand. Prayer is not about speaking out lofty words that sound nice, no. Prayer is stretching forth the hand of faith and reaching up to heaven to seize that which you need on this earth. Is this not blasphemy? No, even Jesus taught the same thing.

Matthew 16:19

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Note that the binding and loosing are not initiated in heaven. They are initiated here on this earth by the praying believer. Note also that binding and loosing are not gentle terms; these are terms that imply violence. One of the Greek definitions for the word loose is, “to break up or destroy”. That is not gentle, it requires violent force.

Prayer is about violently breaking through demonic interference in the heavenlies and reaching into God’s abode and receiving from Him that which we require. Today’s prayers are powerless and ineffective because we have relegated prayer to the low level of begging and not an authoritative seizing that it is. I believe Elijah’s prayer was not to beg God for rain, after all, God had already told Elijah He had released the rain. I believe Elijah was violently loosing the rain from the heavenlies.

At this point it is imperative for us to understand that there is more than one heaven. The first is the one we commonly know, the abode of God, which is the highest heaven. Apart from that there is the heaven where stars and planets are; the galactic heaven. Beneath it is the heaven above our heads, the sky or atmospheric heaven; which is also where most demonic activity takes place.

Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places*.* (Emphasis mine)

This is where our violence is directed, in the heavenlies where demonic forces are resisting us, for it is these powers and principalities that impede the blessings of God that have been released upon us. We see this clearly in Daniel’s account concerning the same.

Daniel 10:2-3

In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

Daniel 10:5

Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

Daniel 10:12-13

Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

Daniel fasted and prayed for three full weeks and at the end of those three weeks an angel came and told him that his prayer had been heard and answered on the very first day that he had started praying. Why did he not receive it then?

“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days”. The demonic principality over that area intercepted the angel and a battle ensued until, through Daniel’s continued fervent prayer, another angel was released to go and reinforce the first one. This is exactly what happens when we pray. That is why the violent are the ones who take the kingdom by force.

Had Daniel given up after eighteen days or even twenty he would not have received the answer. It would have been forever held up in the heavenlies. The reason many do not see answers to their prayers is not that God is selfish or that God has not released it, no. The reason many do not see the answers to their prayers is that they are not violent enough to loose and seize the answer in the heavenlies.

Some of these intercepted answers are the “blessings” the devil gives to his servants. Just as with Daniel, the devil steals our blessings and passes them on to those who serve him. Satan cannot create anything. All he can do is steal and pretend to be a ‘blesser’ to his people. Dear saint, learn to pray with violence. Learn to pray till you seize your answer.

Matthew 16:19

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Jesus has given us the keys of the kingdom of heaven. We are free to go through to God’s throne of grace and mercy to obtain whatever we need. What are those keys? His name and His blood. His blood gives us the liberty to approach the throne of Almighty God and His name gives us the legal right to receive from our heavenly Father. In His name we can bind that which is working against us and in His name we can loose the blessings we need. His mighty name also gives us the power and authority to break through the devils ranks that try to impede or block our blessings.

Never take prayer lightly. Prayer is a powerful venture that will leave your life totally changed if engaged in properly. Seizing your breakthrough involves going through opposition, demonic or otherwise, to reach the throne of God and receive that which He has blessed you with. Yet prayer alone, powerful as it is, is not enough to get your faith to see its desired results.

WORKS

James 2:14

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?

Faith and prayer need action for them to produce results. Without the necessary actions you can be a praying mantis, perpetually praying, but still remain in the same place.

Matthew 14:26-29

And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

Peter is one man who made history through his dynamic faith. Had he not taken action to step out of the boat, he would never have been the only man to walk on water. Peter heard by the hearing of faith the command to “come”. He saw himself walking on the water. He even declared that he will walk on the water if given the instruction. He stood against the boisterous waves but that was not enough. Peter had to step out of the boat in order to see his breakthrough. Step out and take the necessary actions to see your breakthrough come to pass. Faith without works is dead. Now do not get me wrong, I am not saying faith can fail you, no. Rather you are the one who can fail your faith by not taking the necessary steps to seize your breakthrough.

Some steps are frightening to take, like stepping out of a boat into the water in the midst of a storm. Yet that is what it usually is when we are taking steps out of our predicaments. Fear is always present when you try to get your blessing. Whether the blessing is healing, prosperity or even a job, the devil will try to use fear to deter you. A good example is the woman with issue of blood as told by Mark.

Mark 5:25-29

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

For she said*, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.*

And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. (Emphasis mine)

This woman had spent all she had in the hope of getting healed but to no avail. One day she heard by the hearing of faith that Jesus was passing through that area and that He could heal her. Not only did she hear, she saw herself being healed and even spoke out her healing. The woman could have just stopped there and waited for the healing to take place but she knew she had to take a step out into the stormy waters. You need to understand that according to Jewish culture this woman was to be stoned for touching a man in her condition. But she knew that in order to seize her breakthrough she had to face the storm and fight her way through the crowd that was thronging Jesus.

Imagine with me for a moment that woman, twelve years of bleeding, tired from the walk and probably weak from hunger, pushing her way through an energetic crowd. She probably was crawling between their legs as she pressed forward. She was seizing her breakthrough. This is the kind of radical faith that we need, radical enough to take drastic and daring steps. Step out into the storm, press forward against opposition and, despite the fear of the crowds, go forth and seize your breakthrough.

Mark 5:34

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

As you take steps of faith, receive your deliverance from every plague that is plaguing you in life. Refuse to be denied in life. Life was meant for you to have the desires of your heart. Go out there and seize that which belongs to you.

PROPHETIC ACTS

Another powerful way of seizing your breakthrough or translating your desire from the spiritual dimension into the natural, is through prophetic acts.

What is a prophetic act?

It is a physical act that sends signals into the spirit realm of what needs to manifest on earth.

One of the laws of this natural realm is that a vacuum cannot exist naturally on this earth. Every space on this earth has to be occupied by matter in one form or another, whether it be a tree, a car, dust or air.

A prophetic act creates a vacuum that can only be filled by that which you have acted out. It creates a vacuum with a specific nature; a vacuum that has to be filled with a specific substance. Let me give you a classic example from scripture.

John 9:6-7

When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,

And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

Jesus met a blind man who was in need of new eyes. What did Jesus do? He did not cast out the spirit of blindness as at other times. He did not lay His hands and pray as at other times, neither did He speak a word as He usually did. This time He did things differently. He created a vacuum. He performed a prophetic act.

Jesus was teaching us another way of working miracles. He took dirt, spat on it and “anointed” or covered the eyes of the blind man. This was a prophetic act. He was sending a signal into the spiritual dimension that eyes were needed in place of the mud. As the blind man partnered with Jesus in this prophetic act, he went and washed off the mud. A vacuum was created, a specific vacuum for eyes. And because a vacuum is not permitted on this earth, the vacuum was immediately filled with two brand new eyes. That is the power of a prophetic act.

How do I apply this in my life? Act out your breakthrough. This is what the scriptures mean when they say we are to call forth things that are not as if they were. It means we act as if we already have in our hands that which we are believing for; for in essence, we already have it.

2 Peter 1:3

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue

By His grace and divine power Jesus gave us all things that we need pertaining to life, that is, our physical needs. He also gave us all things that pertain to godliness, meaning our spiritual needs. As we perform a prophetic act we send a signal to the heavenly store house to release that which we are believing for; of which Jesus already purchased for us by His blood. That is why in healing meetings many people receive their healing after doing what they could not do before. That action is a prophetic act.

If it is a job you need, act out your employment. Do not wake up in the afternoon just because you are unemployed. Instead wake up in the morning, take a bath, get dressed and “go to work”. Act out the job you are believing God for. Create a vacuum for that job. If it is a child you are believing for, buy some maternity wear and stuff it with a pillow. Create a vacuum for that baby that is waiting in heaven to be released into your womb.

Because of some doubting Thomas’s, I will give you other examples from scripture of prophetic acts. Let us start with the father of faith, Abram.

Genesis 13:14-17

And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:

For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. (Emphasis mine)

God had promised Abram the land of Canaan, but for the land to truly become his he had to perform a prophetic act. He had to walk through the land. Is it a property or a business you are believing for? Walk the land.

Joshua 1:3

Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

Walking the land is a prophetic act of taking dominion and authority. That is why for churches to be effective in their areas they have to walk the land and possess it. Walk the land at your school, place of employment, a business you want to take over or an area you want to start your business. Create a vacuum that you alone can fill.

2 Kings 13:14-19

Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.

And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows.

And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand *upon it*: and Elisha put his hands upon the king’s hands.

And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened *it*. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD’s deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.

*And he said,_ [[Take the arrows.*]_] *And he took. And he said unto the king of Israel,_ [[Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.*]_]

And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadstconsumed : whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.(Emphasis mine)

The king of Israel was in dire straits because the Syrians were out to get them. What did the king do? He did the wisest thing anyone can do. He went to the man of God. When he got there the man of God gave him a crazy solution; Take the arrows…Smite upon the ground. He was telling him to perform a prophetic act of what he desired in the natural; to strike down the Syrians. The king unfortunately did not fully understand the impact of what he was doing and so he stopped after three strikes and the man of God exploded in anger.

And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed *it*: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but *thrice*.

Not only does this scripture teach us the power of prophetic acts but it also teaches us a whole lot more.

#
p<>{color:#000;}. What we act out prophetically manifests with the frequency and intensity with which we act it out: now thou shalt smite Syria but *thrice*.

#
p<>{color:#000;}. The victory or defeat we act out manifests physically: Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it. That is why when we act like failures and victims we end up living our lives as such.

#
p<>{color:#000;}. You use what is at your disposal to carry out a prophetic act: Take the arrows. These were the kings own bow and arrows. Use what you have to act out what you desire.

The Bible is a book of prophetic acts; all you have to do is read it to see them. We can talk about Namaan dipping seven times signifying the cleansing of leprosy to perfection. Or Elisha lying on top of a dead boy and applying CPR, Jesus’ turning water into wine and a whole lot more. But the last prophetic act we will look at together is the most phenomenal of them all; Jesus’ death on the cross.

“I thought that really happened and there is nothing prophetic about it.” True it literally happened but it was also a prophetic act. The only problem God has ever had is the sinful nature of man and He needed a breakthrough in that area in order to reconcile us to Himself. So Jesus died once for ALL men.

Romans 6:6

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [_*him,] [_*that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin*][.*]

Prophetically it was you and I who died to sin on that cross. Jesus literally died FOR our sins on the cross but prophetically, WE DIED with Him. Because of His death we do not have to die for ourselves physically. We are now reconciled to God through Christ, what an awesome God we serve!

And now saint, go forth and create some vacuums for the things you need. Go and carry out some prophetic acts.

Chapter 7

STRENGTHEN YOUR FAITH

As we have already seen faith is a hand and the effectiveness of every hand is its strength. Just as a normal hand needs exercise for it to grow strong, so too there are some exercises that will strengthen your hand of faith. We will explore in brief some of these exercises in this chapter.

READ THE WORD

The first and most basic exercise that will strengthen your faith is systematic and consistent studying of the word of God.

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

It stands to reason that if faith comes by hearing the word of God, it is also sustained and strengthened by the word of God. Every student of the word of God is a candidate of faith exploits.

2 Timothy 2:15

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Not every Christian has been approved to carry out exploits of faith. Faith exploits are only for those who are avid students of the word. Faith is strengthened by diligent study of the word. It is such students that get approved to function in the supernatural. Many believers are afraid of stepping out in faith because the last time they tried, it did not work and they were put to shame. Why did their faith fail? Lack of the word in them is a possible reason. A wordless Christian is a weak Christian.

On the other hand when you study the word you strengthen your faith. You become a worker of exploits that never faces shame. Faith is strengthened by reading the word and rightly dividing that word of truth. There is a thin line between faith, foolishness and presumption and this distinction can only be seen by students of the word. Many presume to be moving in faith when they are actually moving out of intellectual knowledge, emotions or even worse, heresy.

Faith, true faith, is based on the word of God and nothing else. If you want to strengthen your faith be a student of the word and heaven will approve you as one of its workmen, a miracle worker.

RECEIVE REVELATION

As said earlier, reading of the word is a basic exercise which can be likened to breathing. Every human being breathes in order to survive and so too every Christian needs to read the Bible in order to survive and grow in the spirit. In order to take your faith to another level you need to enter into the realm of revelation.

What is revelation?

Ephesians 3:3

How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery;

There are some things that we can learn and know by such natural means as reading, listening and being taught. Such things help us function on a natural level. For you to function in the supernatural realm there are things that you need to learn supernaturally by revelation. But then again, what is revelation?

The original Greek word used for revelation in the above quoted scripture and other references in the New Testament is the word ‘apokalupsis’. This word means a disclosure, unveiling, laying bare, appearing, manifestation, reveal.

Revelation is the disclosure, unveiling, laying bare, manifestation and appearing of spiritual truth.

In the Greek, there are two different and distinct words that are interpreted simply as word in English: ‘logos’ and ‘rhema’. To understand this is a doorway into the supernatural. Logos is an ordinary word that impacts us on an intellectual and natural level. Rhema on the other hand is a living word, a revelation, a word that impacts your spirit and strengthens your faith.

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

This is talking about rhema, a revealed word. The word translated ‘quick’ is the Greek word ‘zao’, which means to live. This implies that this kind of word is alive, it is a living force. When you receive such a kind of word it strengthens your faith, in fact, faith becomes alive.

The other interesting word in this passage is the word ‘powerful’. The Greek word used here is the word ‘energez’ which means active, operative, effectual and powerful. This means a rhema or revealed word is living, active, operative, effectual and powerful. When you receive revelation or a rhema word, not only is that word active but it also activates your faith. Not only is it operative but it turns your faith on into operation mode.

Do you now see why revelation is important to your faith? Revelation makes your faith alive, active and operational. The difference between religion and spirituality is that religious people live in the logos realm. A realm where the word is read or heard but does not come alive; a realm where faith is dead. This is the natural realm. Spiritual people on the other hand live in the rhema realm. This is a world of revelation. A world where the word of God is alive and active; and consequently faith is alive and active. This is the supernatural realm.

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The fantastic thing about this verse is the Greek word rendered ‘word’ in the English translation; it is the word ‘rhema’. This means faith does not just come by any word you read in the Bible. Faith comes by hearing the rhema of God, the living word of God that is revealed to us by the Spirit. Two people can read the same word of God yet one remains unchanged while one is transformed by the rhema. A life of supernatural victory is a life lived on revelation, not presumption.

HOW DO I RECEIVE REVELATION?

John 16:13 – 15

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.

All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.

The supernatural world is a world of the spirit and for you to receive anything from the spirit realm you have to be in league with the Holy Spirit. He is the Spirit of Truth; revealed truth. The Holy Spirit speaks to our spirit about the things He hears from the throne of Heaven. He reveals God’s will and plans for us to us. It is this revelation of the will of God for us that strengthens our faith to believe for the impossible.

He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you. What does this mean? Let me allow scripture to explain itself.

Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. (Emphasis mine)

As said previously, the kingdom of God is a kingdom of mysteries. As long as something in the kingdom is a mystery to us, we cannot partake of it. As long as a word or promise from God remains ‘logos’ we cannot partake of it.

This is where the Holy Spirit comes in. He takes the mysteries, the secret things of God, and makes them plain to us. He discloses, unveils and manifests the treasures of the kingdom to us. He turns logos into rhema, igniting our faith in the process. When our faith to receive that which has been revealed is put to work, we receive the physical manifestation of God’s promises. That is how the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus; by glorifying us. That is revelation in action.

1 Corinthians 2:9-12

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

But God hath revealed them : for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (Emphasis mine)

Friend, God gave us the Holy Spirit to set us apart from mere man. The ordinary man cannot receive revelation from the Holy Spirit and thus cannot partake of the glories of heaven. You, on the other hand, have received the Spirit of God and can therefore receive revelation. With that revelation comes the power and privilege to be a partaker of God’s divine nature.

PRAY IN THE SPIRIT

Jude 1:20

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost

Praying in the Spirit is a sure fire way of building up and strengthening your faith. Who can be better than the Holy Spirit when it comes to helping you with your faith. When you pray in the Spirit you cease to operate in the natural realm, you move into the supernatural.

[* Romans 8:26 -27 *]

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

And he that searcheth the hearts knowethwhat is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities……” The Holy Spirit helps us in our infirmities, meaning our weaknesses. When you are weak in faith just pray in the Spirit. He will charge you up with the God kind of faith. When you pray in the Spirit, you connect to the Spirit of Almighty God. As you pray you speak mysteries in the spirit and in so doing you create that which is needed and tear down that which is not.

“For we know not what we should pray for as we ought…”Sometimes our weakness in faith is attributed to the fact that we do not know how to express our desires to God. The Holy Spirit also helps us in such situations for “he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God”. As you pray in the Spirit the Holy Spirit speaks on your behalf that which you can’t express. When He prays through you He prays the exact will of God for your life. That is the kind of prayer that receives quick results.

Sometimes when you pray in the Spirit you will actually be making declarations in the spirit realm. It will be just as if God Himself is speaking things into being.

When you are weak in faith, or when unsure about how to pray, fret not. Just partner with the Holy Spirit in prayer and you will receive that which you desire. And so dear saint, build yourself up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.

CONCLUSION

So dear friend, the just shall live by faith. Not empty and inactive faith but faith that is applied. Faith is not some mystical, magical force, it is a practical force. Like gravity, it pulls your desires to you.

None of these elements of faith will work alone. They have to be applied together for you to see the results. Just as a hand with a missing digit cannot function properly so too the hand of faith with a missing finger becomes weak.

Friend, faith is a practical force that you can use to change your life. Whether it is a mountain or stumbling block you want to remove out of your way, or a blessing or breakthrough you are in need of, by faith you can have it.

Mark 9:23

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Life is meant to be enjoyed not endured. It is only those with the courage to believe, the courage to be in agreement with the God of the supernatural that will have whatever they desire.

Remember: IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING.
