Once there was a girl who lived with her very old grandmother in a small village. Her mother had disappeared when the girl was very young. She was obedient and loved to perform house chores.

They were very poor but the girl was always happy. Everyone wondered why she was so happy.

She did not have many friends. Her only friend was a little bird who lived on a tree outside the girl’s house.

Every morning the girl went outside and talked to the bird. One day the bird asked, “Why are you always so happy and you are so poor?”

“Because I had a dream last night that one day I will be very rich.” The girl said.
