The Final Curtain Call – Where Life Stands Grand And Small

I took a moment to define

so many years of pure sunshine

and on a hunch, and on a rhyme

I knew this was the last time

The last time I could see

what was happening to me

The last time I could hear

what had lived so many year

The last time I knew

it was curtains through and through

The last time I said

to put the matter strict to bed

The last time now true

as the wind blew and blew

a great freshness over you

I dropped the props:

the traffic stops and

starts – arrests my beating

heart – the comic to depart

that rather funny thing

in amongst the wondering

when others sing off-key

no longer mattered now to me

The Final Curtain Call

to raise to life just one and all

The Final Curtain stall

before infinity fall

and in amongst the tall

vibrant image play

that lead a merry way

to fondness yesterday

yesterday yesterday

all a matter of a play

all a matter of hooray

we dished each card

to host charade and see

what mattered now most infinitely

a totality – a final passing through

to conclude good and true

how the seasons slept in you

how the seasons wept in you

how the seasons crept in you

how the seasons came to proclaim

it is the final curtain call to stand to

life both grand and small

Sense divine of winning

Sense design of steady innings

Sense of precocity

Sense of velocity

Sense of preciosity

To see it now just close

and in that sense a fullness flows

Miro’s in my head

a sculptor call of what now lead

to see: no end to vibrancy

in life’s finality

to carve in stone, or see in bone

the image that another hone

Life’s final curtain call

leaves fragments of us all

And though I thought no more to say

my hay-fevered head laughed any way:

‘You’ve only got today to blow the crowd away’

A simple thing I see – that buzzing memory

A simple thing I hear – the curtain call draw near

That simple thing I do – applaud all life and leap

from the queue to utter now to all:

“Life stand grand and life stand small!”

I swivelled in my chair – a final comfort share – that whatever life possess, it dwells among our happiness.

Fixated, you created

Elated, animated

and then at once now sated

the moment then was fated

to recall:

“Life stand grand and small in, amongst, above it all.”
