What is a KEEPER OF THE GARDEN?
How does one become a KEEPER OF THE GARDEN?
Did you know Jesus was a KEEPER OF THE GARDEN?
What does it mean “In My Name” or “In the Name of Jesus”?
Does it take Trust to Love God?
This booklet is going to answer your questions of who you are, what you have, and what is expected of you as you walk in Christ. It’s getting right down to the nitty gritty in understanding God’s word. I will dare you to read it and put it to use in your daily life.
In the beginning God created heaven and earth. In the earth God created a garden and placed All things in it and God created the man Adam, as it is written: (Gen. 1:26 KJV) “God said, ‘let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.” Then God told them, “…subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Gen. 1:28) There was no other human being on the earth at that time, therefore Adam was not given dominion over another person. The Serpent was a moving thing and was there at that time, and Adam was to subdue and take dominion over him. Yes, God made Adam THE KEEPER OF THE GARDEN and gave him all authority over all things in the garden, but Adam failed God and was no-longer God’s keeper of the garden. Now because of Adam’s disobedience, God set him, his wife, and the Serpent out of the garden. God inspired man to record what took place in the garden, so that mankind could truly see just what Adam gave away and how disappointed in him God was. With that record, the believers today, have the opportunity to not make the same mistake with the garden of today that God has given unto them through Jesus Christ our Lord. If Lord, then truly the Master of a person’s life and having the right to do what-so-ever he desires to do in their lives. Are you willing to give up your will for His will? On the cross Jesus said, “it is finished.” Then there is nothing else for Jesus to do. Really think deep on what I am about to tell you. On the sixth day God the Father finished his work and the seventh day he rested. On the eighth day it was now time for Adam to begin taking his responsibilities as the keeper of the garden, under the authority of God Almighty. Jesus said, “It is finished.” and now it is time for the believers to take up their authority in Christ and own up to their responsibility before God Almighty, and show the world that our Lord Jesus’ shed blood was not in vain. For, we are the keepers of the garden once again, because of Jesus Christ. Halleluiah! Amen! Praise God for the faithful love of his Son, Jesus! Are you a workman of God? Are you truly taking care of the garden that was given to you through the shed blood of Jesus Christ? Well, just what does your garden look like?
Have you truly been working hard while your master is gone on a far journey? Are you going about doing and not even giving a thought about what the master had said to you when he left things in your care? Is Jesus Christ master of your life? Didn’t the master command you to take authority over his house and care for his garden? (Mark 13:34-37) For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. (35) Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: (36) Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. (37) And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” Are you watching and doing your job, as the Lord said, to every man his work? Are you working or playing around? Just what does your garden look like? Have you taken authority over it or are you waiting for Jesus to do it for you? Stop waiting. Jesus on the cross said it is finished!
Make no mistake; Adam could do nothing except through God’s authority and we can do nothing except through the authority given unto us by God the father through Jesus Christ. Adam took the promise of having authority over all the things God had created and gave that authority to Satan. That is why it is said that Adam committed high treason. Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God Almighty; was crucified, died, buried, descended into the innermost parts of the earth; fought Satan and was victorious. Then Jesus was raised from the dead by the right hand of God Almighty. The right hand is the hand of fellowship, and he was raised with the keys to the Kingdom. As it is written: (Acts 2:24) “Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death; because it was not possible that he should beholden of it.” (Acts 2:32-33) “This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses, Therefore being by the right hand of God; exalted, and having received of the Father the of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, (flesh) which ye (you) now see and hear.” Yes, Jesus the Christ was raised as he said he would be. Then surely his word is valid even unto this very day; then let’s take the authority offered. It was by the shed blood of Jesus Christ and by the testimony of his Word that you and I became the keepers of the garden, which God has given into our care. You can be sure that God’s eyes are beholding all the goings on in the earth. That means that he is looking to see just who is taking care of the garden that was given to them. I must ask, was the blood of Jesus shed in vain; for mankind, to yet, have no authority in this earth? If your son suffered such agonizing pain to give back the authority over everything that belonged to you and no one would use it; just how would you feel when they came running asking you to stop the thief from taking something? I hear the voice of God speaking to my mind saying, is there anyone listening to my words? Do they not trust in what I have said? When will they accept the fact that they have been given back the same covenant that Adam gave away. Why do they not use that authority I and I alone returned to them through my Son? “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me….” (John 19:27) Are we hearing the voice of Jesus and following what he is saying? Listen to what Jesus is saying, follow his; “… and give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. Jehovah God is the father of truth and Satan is the father of those that lie. Here is something to deeply ponder upon, for it will truly impact the very essence of your life from now on; if you take this to heart. (John 10:29) “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” No man can pluck you out of God’s hand, because God will keep your every word. You are a joint heir with Jesus Christ and just as Jesus said Lazarus come forth and Jehovah God kept his Son’s word and Lazarus came forth; so shall the father keep your word. That is just a little scary when you think of the way we sometimes talk without thinking, and to know that God is going to keep our every word. Thank God, he loves us so much that he will never allow us to be a liar and plucked out of his hand. He is so gracious, that he gives us time to repent of the words we have spoken in haste. That, in its self is truly awesome to think about, such love. Yes, Jehovah God in his great love has restored unto mankind the authority to subdue and take dominion over all the things God Almighty has created. That authority was restored in the return of the covenant that Adam once had and through Jesus Christ it is now given unto those that love Jehovah God with all their heart, soul, and all their strength.
Now think about this, my friend: Can you truly believe that Jehovah is God and cannot lie? If you can then his Word must be true and if his Word is true then so is the very Word of his Son; Jesus the Christ also true. Knowing this truth, then look very closely at what Jesus Christ said about the believers. (John 14:12-14) “Verily, verily (or truly, truly) I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also….” I would like you to take a good, really good look at this and truly dig deeply into the understanding of the authority given by the Father through Jesus Christ unto the believers. Are you a true believer of every word of Jehovah God? Think on this: 1. Jesus said, on me not in me. 2. Jesus is the Word. 3. Some believe in the Word, but do not believe on the word. 4. To believe on the Word, is to rely completely upon what was said; enough to set it in motion in your life, trusting that it will not return void. Example: If you were standing at the edge of a canyon needing to get to the other side and Jesus said, look there is a bridge over there that you can use and it will get you there. Would you use the bridge if it was made out of wood and looked like it had been there for the last ten thousand years? That’s right! Believe on his word. Your action will be the evidence of whether or not you relied ON his Word. That is on not in.
When Jesus said: Verily, verily he must have wanted us to take him at his Word. Then if you believe him, it must mean that he is expecting us to stop running to get him and his father to do everything. He would not have told us “…the works that I do shall he do also.” If he was not expecting us to take the authority, in Him, and use it to subdue and take dominion over this earth. Isn’t that just what Adam was to do and didn’t God give him the authority to do just that? Unfortunately Adam gave that authority to Satan, but Jesus took it back and gave it to all that will love Jehovah God and His beloved Son Jesus Christ with all their heart, and with all their soul, and with all their strength and that is exactly why Jesus said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” So then, can you believe the very Word of Jehovah God? (Gen. 1:26) “…let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.” I would say that means that if you can believe and accept what God said you now have all the authority to just take dominion over all those things, but you must believe that God cannot lie. If you can’t at this time, do what Jesus said, “If you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” It’s not a lie.
Yes, Jesus was the keeper of the garden that his Father had given him to care for. (John 10:29) “My Father, which gave them me,….” Jesus cared for every tree in the garden and with every Word he pruned the branches. With every deed he plowed the fields that his field would be ripe with wheat. With every truth he watered the garden. With his steadfast boldness he chased away the birds that would eat the seed. Everywhere Jesus walked he made his light shine in his garden and the grassy fields were made ripe with food for his sheep. Jesus kept the garden well and invested his entire life to the care of the Garden and the sheep in the garden. “Therefore doth my Father love me,….” (John 10:17) Many use the title Christian which means (Christ like), but are not wanting to be a keeper of God’s garden. Is the responsibility to great or are you just too busy to fool with it? Will your Father love you for it? Truly the Children of God are the keepers of the garden and joyfully accept the responsibility, for Jehovah God promised to prosper everything they set their hands to. Which brings us to the why, it is so in the believers lives and not so in the lives of unbelievers.
That word, because truly is of the greatest importance, for if Christ Jesus had not gone unto the Father the Holy Spirit would not be living within us today. Because, Jesus went unto the Father; the Holy Spirit now lives in the believer and because he is in the believer, it is written: “Verily, (or truly) I say unto you, inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these *my brethren,_ you have done it _*unto me.” (Matt. 25:40) Again, it is written: “…You are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (2 Cor. 6:16) and (2 Cor. 6:18) “ And will be a Father unto you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” Jehovah God himself called you sons and daughters, “ and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ….” (Rom. 8:17) Do you truly wish to be a joint-heir with Christ? Then look at the rest of what is said; “…[_*if so be that you suffer with him, that you may be also glorified together.“] [_(][*ROM. 8:17)] Then if Jesus Christ was a keeper of the garden, why not you? Did you really think that you were going to get away without having to assume any responsibilities and yet, be a joint heir did you? I didn’t think so. Adam was a keeper of the garden and failed and Jesus was a keeper of the garden and was more than a conqueror, therefore did his Father love him. (John 10:17) Do you want the Father to love you? Then put some work clothes on and get into the garden and use the authority that the blood of Jesus Christ paid for in full for all.
(John 14:13) “…and Whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” In my name, does not mean just saying the name, Jesus. When a woman gets married she takes on the man’s name. If she goes to the store, she is going in his name. If she is cleaning the house, she is doing it in his name; because she *is in his name._ For that reason, she needs to take care what she may be doing; that at no time does her actions cause shame to his name. So it is [[*even more-so;]_] as we take on the name of Jesus the Christ. (John 14:14) “If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it.” The world cannot ask anything in the name of Jesus, for they are not in that name. The woman can go to the bank and write a check in her husband’s name, because she is legally in his name. A person can only legally ask God the Father for something, in the name of Jesus if they are truly legally in that name. Jesus surely paid the price for everyone’s salvation, but even though it is surely paid for, you and only you can accept it or deny it; because human beings were given freedom of choice by God Almighty. For that reason, to be legally in the name of Jesus one must accept Him and whatever responsibilities go with the accepting Him with *all._] Many seem to want the benefits of Jesus, but not what comes with him. Sounds like many relationships, that want all the benefits and no responsibilities, but those relationships have never lasted long at all. I know I said it once before, but I feel it worthy of saying it again; ([*Rom. 8:16-17) “…][_we are the children of God.… (17)“…And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; that we suffer, with him, that we may be also glorified together.” Do not ignore (with Christ and if so be), for that clearly shows that to be a joint-heir with Christ there is most assuredly a condition or term to be met. That term is that we The word suffer, here, in the Greek is: sumpaschpo, from which we get our word sympathize, to experience pain jointly, therefore if we feel the same pain Jesus feels for the lost and hurting; then are we suffering with Christ. Also the Greek word: pas’-kho, to experience a sensation, feel passion, or vexation; as Jesus felt for the lost, hurting, and needing. Are you willing to suffer with Christ Jesus that you may be glorified with him? Will you truly be a keeper of the garden God has given you as Jesus Christ kept the Garden that his Father placed in his hand to care for? Or, has the cares of the world sprung up and taken over your garden while the master has gone on a long journey? What will your garden look like when He returns? When all is dried up and barren will you began acting as though you’re working, because someone said they seen Him not far off? A tree that has no branches is surely a tree that is without life and can’t give shade in the heat and is of no use for anything, but to be cut down and cast into a fire.
Are you being a Keeper of the Garden that your God has given you through the shed blood of your Lord Jesus? Are you fearful of failing and that is why you have not begun to pick up the tools that were paid in full for you? Jehovah said, “^ ^Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10) God was
with them and that is why they had no reason to ever fear. Now look at why the believers today are the Keepers of the garden and have no reason to ever fear anything. (2 Cor. 6:16-18 )” …You are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, ‘I WILL DWELL IN THEM, AND WALK IN THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.(17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be you separate’, saith the Lord, and ‘I will receive you,” (18) “ and will be a Father unto you, and you shall be my sons and daughters’, saith the Lord Almighty.” Then God is no longer just with you, but Christ Jesus is now in you through the Holy Spirit. That is why you are surely heirs and joint-heirs with Jesus, having the legal right to write a check in the name of Jesus. Adam was to keep the garden and failed. Now those called by the name of Jesus Christ are in all Authority The Keepers Of The Garden and Jehovah God, himself is expecting His sons and daughters to accept the authority that his only begotten Son, Jesus the Christ paid for in full!
Your garden is wherever you are lying, sitting, or standing! In the store, in the street, in the park, at the lake, at the ball game, at your work, in your car, on the bus, in the taxi, in your home, and even in your own mind; is where your garden is. Are you cutting down the stubble left by Satan in your mind and the minds of others? Are you tilling up the roots of bitterness that try to re-germinate the old pains, disappointments that drug you down and kept you bound? Are you helping others till their garden? What are you planting in your garden? Your actions before mankind are seeds. Jesus went about doing good and healing all those that were oppressed of the devil, he rebuked the winds and the storms and the list goes on and on. Yes, Jesus the Son of God daily sowed seed before mankind in the Garden that his Father placed in his care. What are you sowing in your garden, or have you not accepted the responsibility of being The Keeper of the Garden? Jesus finished his work! Have you even begun your work in the garden? If not, my question is why not? Jesus is there 24-7-365 to help and the Father said he would prosper whatsoever you set your hand to, than how can you fail? If you were adopted into a family, would you not be required to accept the responsibilities as a member of that family, or do you believe it was in name only?
It begins with Jehovah God, the Father raising Jesus from the dead, as the first born again. You begin by truly 100% accepting his offer that is paid in full, but it comes with responsibilities. The first step is to accept your own responsibility to trust with all your heart, all your soul, and with all your strength, to do what-so-ever GOD SAYS TO DO, therefore we begin doing what the Word of God says Rom. 12:2 “… be not conformed to this world; but be ye (you) transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye (you) may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” There must be a transformation of your thinking, from the way the world thinks and the true acceptance of every word of God as the only truth in life. This can only be done by the deep willingness to accept that God just cannot lie, not ever! Where does a person begin the acceptance of truth? (1) By first believing that Jesus is the Christ. (2) That Jesus is the first born again and by accepting what Jesus has done for you is truly, the truth. Amen!! (3) Then begin doing just what-so-ever God said to do, how to do, and when to do and that begins with this. (2 Tim. 2:15) “Study (not just read) to shew (show) thyself approved unto God, (not man), a workman that needeth (needs) not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (4) put to use daily what you have studied that you may Prove to your own mind first, what is the good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Think very deeply on this. Was Satan in heaven at one time? Yes, and his name, in the Hebrew was: Helel; which means, “the bright one” and the name Lucifer is actually the Roman designation for the Morning Star and at one time he was an angel of light and God made him the keeper of the garden, in heaven, but pride entered in and Lucifer was cast out of heaven. Look at (Isaiah 14:12) “How art thou fallen from heaven, Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground….” (Luke 10:18) “… I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” Did God give up on having someone to be His keeper of the garden? No. God created earth, and in the earth another garden and in the garden a man called Adam to be the keeper of the garden, but again failure came, because of disobedience and there was a casting out again; only this time it was out of an earthly garden. Has God given up on having a keeper of his garden yet? No! God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to care for God’s garden and Jesus didn’t fail as others.
Once again God is looking for the keepers of the garden. What is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God? As I study the Word of God, I believe, that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God is; that his people accept the covenant that Jesus the Christ has paid an awesome price to have taken it back from Satan. Doing so has made it possible for every child of God to stand-up before all mankind proving that God made us truly more than conquerors, as we are now joint-heirs with Jesus Christ; having given us all authority. May I say it again; All Authority to subdue and have dominion over all things upon this earth. Keeping in mind that people are not things. People have been given a free will and that is why Jesus, himself, always asked them; What would you have of me? Never to override their free will.
It means we not only have all authority through, Jesus Christ, but we are held accountable before God Almighty to use that authority only to the Glory of God. Pride brought Satan down, disobedience kicked Adam out of the garden, but if we keep in mind that Lucifer was to do nothing without the approval of God, and Adam could do nothing except through God’s Authority and we can do nothing except through the authority given unto us by Christ Jesus we will not fail our Lord God Almighty. I pray this is beginning to help you renew your mind, from the I can’t, to the I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me! Amen!! Now look. (2 Cor. 5:17 ) “Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold [(_]look diligently) _*all* things are—-become new.“* To renew one’s mind, there *must first be a new understanding of something or else the mind keeps thinking the same way. I would like to submit to your understanding, that when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, at that very moment, you were given the very Spirit of Jesus Christ, in the fullness. From that moment you are all you can be in the spirit, yet there is another part of you, which is your soul (the intellect) that shall become new with the transforming of you mind by the washing of the water, (or living Word), by the Word of God. Yes, the Word of God washes away all the old thinking and reasoning that you had learned from the world system. By the acceptance of the Word the transforming of the soul or mind begins. How fast this transformation takes place in your life is up to your willingness to study and accept what-so-ever the Word of God says. God himself cannot do this for you, if he could he would; but he gave mankind a free will to choose; therefore it is totally up to what you will allow yourself to accept. Think on this: When the soul or mind becomes the very essences of your new spirit; you will truly be one with Christ Jesus, as was Enoch. (Gen. 5:24) “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” Adam walked with God, and then sold out. Jesus walked with God and was faithful to the cross. (Heb. 11:5) “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” God is looking for those that want to walk with him to the end. (Rev. 2:26) “And he that overcometh (overcomes), and keepeth (keeps); my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:” Do you want to be translated? Are you truly willing to walk with God daily? Are there too many other things in life that you want to experience first? Or, do you really want to please God? Then trust God’s Word and be The Keeper of the Garden that God has given into your care. Never forgetting the awesome price that your Lord Jesus Christ paid, that you would have that authority.
Wake up turn the light on, for the enemy comes when you’re not looking. When you do not study to get understanding and the word of the Kingdom is not then understood the wicked enemy comes with words of untruth, sowing seeds of doubt and the word of God is mixed with the tares of the world’s reasoning. (Matt. 13:19). Then you wash your face and clean your itching ears with a little more Word of God until the enemy comes again when you are not aware. This time, because you are standing on the Word of God he sows seeds of tribulation or persecution and you get offended and your garden begins to sprout tares of doubt in what you had learned. (Matt. 13:21) Now you tell yourself that you will tend to your garden better, but the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of pleasures, and riches, choke the word and your garden is unfruitful. (Matt. 13:22) God has not given up, for he is yet, looking for the The Keeper Of The Garden that received seed and planted it in good ground, for he heard the Word, and understood it. He planted it deep into every part of his garden. Then he watered it with proper use and care; before all the others in the garden. Then fertilized it with great study and divide it ever so carefully that no tares could choke it out and it brought forth fruit, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty and the understanding gave much strength to the roots and it could not be plucked up. Amen!!
Enoch trusted God with all his heart, and with all his soul (mind), and with all his strength. Sometimes it takes a lot of strength to stand fast when so many around you are so full of doubt. The renewing of your mind is all up to you and what you will allow yourself to accept. Enoch chose to accept every word of God and look at his reward. Since Enoch could do it so can you, for God is not a respecter of persons. Yes, it will sometimes take a great deal of mental strength to overcome all the thoughts that the enemy brings through people and other things in life, but that is why you must fight the good fight of faith and Jesus gave you the strength to do it. Just be a watchman over your garden and don’t let the enemy sow tares of distrust, and disobedience and tear down the garden the Holy Spirit has planted in your mind. No one ever said the job of renewing your mind would be easy. The longer one has lived according to the everyday system of the world the more hard-headed they have become to accepting anything new that brings about the transforming of their thinking. They just hate to change, but to truly accept Jesus it is surely a major change. That is why God said, “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Prov. 22:6) So often people get into a comfort zone in life and become fearful of making any change at all. No wonder God said, fear not. To accept Jesus as Lord of your life is to accept change. Without making any change it would be impossible to make such a change. Now wouldn’t it? Then just make up your mind to accept whatever changes Jesus would have in your life.
Lack of self confidence, or is it lack of trust in the very Word of God? (Phil. 4:13) “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth (strengthens) me.” How can Christ strengthen anyone? The strength is in the fact that the Holy Spirit of Christ lives in the believer. (2 Cor. 6:16) God said he would live in and walk in the believer. Is it lack of confidence, or is it lack of trust? One must first have, “…through faith understanding that the worlds were framed by the Word of God,….” For if you cannot believe that, then you can believe nothing. (Luke 10:17) “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying. Lord, even the devils are subject unto us *through thy name.“_ You don’t need self confidence. What you need is *trust in the Word of God. Trust in this, there are seventy people, yes people that found out that even devils were subject to them through the name of Jesus and it didn’t hurt them to find that out, for they were filled with joy. Look what Jesus said unto them, (Luke 10:18-19) “’[_I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” (19) Behold, I give unto] you POWER to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.’” Now you tell me, just what confidence in yourself do you need? I deeply believe that, all that mankind truly needs today is to use just a little sensible reasoning over the fact that God framed the world with only his Word, than just how powerful and true is his word, then, now, and forever; so trust it!! ‘If you cannot trust it on that basis, then trust it for all the other things that have been said in God’s Holy word and have been proven in mankind’s own history books and again, if that is not enough why not put his word to use in your own life and prove to your mind that the Word of God will not return void. As the world system says, seeing is believing. How about it? Are you still having a trust problem? Maybe this will help you as it did with the father of a boy. (Mark 9:18-19) A man had brought his son to the disciples, but they could not help the boy; so the man took his son to Jesus and the man said: “…I spake (spoke) to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.” (19) (speaking of Jesus), ‘he answered him, and said, O , how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer you….’” (that word suffer in the Greek is: an-ekh’-om-ahee; the meaning is; put up with; bear with, endure.) Ask yourself, Was Jesus displeased with their doubting what they had been taught they could do? He was so put out that he just said, “‘…bring him unto me.’” Take a good look at this, How much more displeased would Jesus be with us today then he was with the disciples that didn’t even have the Holy Spirit in them at that time? (Mark 9:23) Even at that time, “Jesus said unto him, ‘if thou canst believe, All things are Possible to HIM that believeth.’” Yet today, even though the Spirit of Christ Jesus lives in us, it is hard for mankind to trust and believe, for it is, I can’t this and I can’t that. Is your mind beginning to be transformed to the way God sees you and wants you to act or are you yet, going about hoping that what you pray will come to pass?
The boy’s father knew just where his belief was and was not ashamed to admit it. (Mark 9:24) “and straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” Remember how Jesus said, if you shall ask anything in my name, it shall be done of the Father which is in heaven. What will help the boy’s father have true, everlasting belief in the Word of God? Do you think, seeing his son freed of the dumb and deaf spirit will help his unbelief? Oh, you bet it will! Did Jesus answer the father’s request? He asked for help with his unbelief and he received help with his unbelief. He asked for help for his son and he received help for his son. (Mark 9:25) “… He rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, ‘Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.’ (9:26) and the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him….” I am sure that the boy’s father had no unbelief after that. Do you? I would like to point out that (1) Jesus carried out his own word; as he spoke directly to the spirit, for Jesus taught: speak to the mountain. (2) Jesus left nothing undone, as he commanded the spirit to enter no more into him. (3) Jesus did this only to Glorify the Father in Heaven and not himself.
That is why we have been made The Keepers Of The Garden that Jesus may be Glorified in us (our maturity) before mankind that others may truly believe in God Almighty.
There was a king that had two sons. The second son would go out into the land and when the subjects of the land would see him coming they would pickup sticks and stones and throw them at the prince, and the prince would flee to his father, the king, for safety. Entering the castle, the son would scream, Daddy, daddy, the subjects are throwing sticks and stones at me. His father, in discouragement, would say; “son don’t you understand that you are a prince? You are a joint-heir to the throne with your elder brother, and being heir, you have been given all authority over all things in the land. You have servants, guards, and warriors at your very command. Take courage as a prince and use the authority given unto you.” Having been told this the prince stood up, stuck out his chest and went out into the land. Once again the subjects threw sticks and stones at him and again the prince ran crying, Daddy, daddy. One day the king was dying and sent for his sons and the scribes. When his sons and the scribes were all gathered together at the King’s bedside; the King called the scribes and made a decree. Because my second son does not accept my testimony of his authority, he, nor his sons, nor his son’s sons shall ever sit on this throne, but his brother and his son and his son’s sons shall rule and reign as he will subdue and take dominion over the Kingdom I have set before him. God, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ has made the believers THE KEEPERS OF THE GARDEN. Are we going to accept the testimony of Jesus the Christ?
(Num. 13:1-3) “And the Lord spake (spoke) unto Moses, saying, (2) Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye (you) send a man, every one a ruler among them.” God had Moses pick the ruler of each tribe, because the rulers are the ones that influence the beliefs and actions of each tribe. (3)“And Moses by the commandment of the Lord sent them from the wilderness of Paran: All those men were heads of the children of Israel.” Again, the heads are the ones that will instruct others according to how they, themselves think and act. If your head thinks, go left, is your body going to go right? After forty days of searching out the land that God said, “…I give unto the children of Israel.” ten out of the twelve returned trusting in what the world posed to them, and it was called an evil report. (Num. 13:32-33) “And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, the land through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth (eats) up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.” I must ask at this point, how great in stature is a person when God goes before him? God gave mankind a free will to choose to look at things as he will. Thanks be to God, there were two that chose to look at things through God’s word and trust what God had said, not worrying about what things look like in the world. (Rom. 8:31) “…If God be for us, who can be against us?” I just love what Caleb had to say, (Num. 13:30) “… Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” Now Caleb would have made a great keeper of the garden with his attitude, but it was the beginning of a democracy and the vote was 10 against and two for, therefore Caleb and Joshua, before God, were out voted and the very first democracy was born in life.
God surely thought so. Did the attitudes and decisions of the ten affect the others? The ten were the heads of each tribe and were the instructors of their tribe. The report of the ten instructed ten tribes to not go in the land, even though God himself said, “I give unto the children of Israel.” Wow! Talk about not trusting what God says. It just blows my mind to think how anyone could not truly trust God’s word after all that they had seen right before their own eyes. For that reason, I can just imagine God saying; “ok, then don’t go, but I will keep you in this land: One year for every day that you searched out the land in distrust of my promise.” Do you want to follow the majority in life? Well look at the outcome of the majority, they died in a wilderness, never experiencing the beauty and joy of the freedom that was given to them. I pray that you will not choose to throw away the beauty and joy of the freedom Jesus Christ has given you and the authority to subdue and take dominion over your garden in life. Do you get up in the morning thinking that throughout the day your choices are going to have an effect on someone else and God is surely going to hold you accountable for that effect? Do decisions of some, affect other lives? In light of what we learned here, I say yes. Are there sometimes long term effects to some of the decisions that people make? We can look back at the decisions of the ten rulers and say yes. That decision surely brought a long term effect of forty years, of a truly dismal life in the wilderness. What wilderness are you stuck in? What decisions put you there? How long will you let distrust in God’s word keep you in a wilderness of blindness to the truth? Again, here are some men that after all the things they had seen God do, they yet, refused to trust in the word of God. (Num. 13:33) “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Wrong thinking, wrong talking, and wrong action. God was not playing a ball game, but three strikes and that game of distrusting God was surely played out. Out of their own words, without thinking, they proved that the word of God is true, for look at this. (Prov. 23:7) says, “For as he thinketh (thinks) in his heart, so is he.” how did they see themselves? God’s word is true and mankind continues to prove, out of his own mouth, that it is always true. Listen to your own words. Are they like Caleb and Joshua’s words of trust, and might in the Lord, or doubt and weakness as the ten rulers? Doubting the word of God is like sickness in the body. If the sickness is not dealt with completely the body just continues to grow weaker and die. I pray with all my heart that you will take the gospel, and be well.
We just saw how the lack of faith and belief can anger God: (Num. 14:11) “And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed (showed) among them?” CONTRAST: Disbelief; (Num. 14:12) “I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them,….” But Moses was The Keeper of the Garden that God had given into his care, therefore Moses interceded. (Num. 14:20) “And the Lord said, I have pardoned according to thy word….” Look closely at that word, thy word. God keeps his word and will also keep your word, so watch them. Now let’s look at how having faith and believing the word of God, pleases God. (Num. 14:24) “But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.” Yes, your decisions do have an effect on others. Are you concerned about others or self only? Remember your decisions and actions, tell the truth. Be a watchman, and attend to your thoughts, decisions, and actions, for God’s eyes behold all things.
It’s impossible to please God without faith, so where do we get faith? (Rom. 10:17) “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” If you don’t study the Word of God and you don’t truly listen to the Word of God, then you won’t have any hearing and you won’t accept the Word of God and faith will not come to you. Now, that is plain and simple, isn’t it? Faith and belief are intertwined; one with the other, but faith must be preceded by hearing. This clearly shows that knowledge is essential to faith and belief. Faith must have a valid content, before it can ever become belief. That valid content is the Proven Word of God. Throughout history as we have seen in the example of the ten spies that saw themselves as grasshoppers and in the enemy’s sight so they were. Now let’s look at another example that validated God’s Word as the truth. Jesus came walking on the water and when the disciples saw him they were afraid. When was the last time you ever saw anyone walking on water? Well, the disciples had no knowledge of anyone ever walking on water either. I am sure, Peter remembered that Jesus had taught them to test the spirits, therefore he knew, let your yea be yea and your nay be nay. What good is that teaching here? Let’s see just what good it is here. (Matt. 14:28-33) “… Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.” Jesus could have said, I bid you to come unto me on the water, as Peter had asked, but would that have been, yea and yea? How did Jesus answer him? (29) “And Jesus said, ‘come….’ Now that is yea and yea! “…and when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.” I would like to give you something to truly think about, if you haven’t already. When you are trusting in Jesus, you can surely count on Satan to be right there; doing his best to get your mind distracted. Faith is done in the mind, by reasoning of your hearing, so what does Peter begin to hear? Boisterous (roaring) wind, for Satan comes as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (30) “but when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying Lord, save me.” Are we not also the same? When we are in trouble we hurry to cry out Jesus; Help me! Faith was the mind processing thoughts of what Peter had seen and was taught by Jesus in times past and when Faith turned to belief, an action of stepping out of the boat took place. Faith always precedes belief and belief always produces an action of some kind. Here the action was Peter stepping out of the boat. When fear of what he heard and saw entered by reason of thought, faith and belief in Jesus Christ stopped and faith and belief in what he seen and heard begin. That’s when Peter began to sink. That is what happens to us when we get our thoughts off what God says we can do and begin thinking of how things appear to be in the natural. That is when we begin to sink in the muck and myrrh of life. We can surely be thankful that our Lord Jesus Christ is always right there to stretch out his hand to us. Have you taken it, for all times and not just when you are sinking in life’s difficulties? I know that takes faith, but look at faith and what it will do. (Matt. 8:8) The Centurion’s Faith, “… speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.” Was the servant healed? (Matt. 8:13) “… And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.” How about this, the woman that touched the garment of Jesus. (Matt. 9:21) “For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.” Was she made whole? (Matt. 9:22) “… ‘Daughter be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.’” Mankind goes about using the system of reasoning to make choices and that is not really a bad thing, but why not place your choices on something that will not return void. Look at the record of successes 100% and failures 0 %. How about Canaanite woman's faith (a non-Israelite)? She asked Jesus to heal her daughter. (Matt. 15:24) "But he answered and said, ‘ I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.’” (25) “ Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me.” (26) But he answered and said, ‘It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.’” This woman was so sure that Jesus could heal her daughter that she just was not going to stop asking for any reason. Do you have such faith that Jesus can help you? (27) “ And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” (28) Then Jesus answered and said unto her, ‘O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt’ ...." Was her daughter healed? "...And her daughter was made whole from that very hour." She knew what the Israelites thought of her, as just a dog, but she knew that Jesus, is love, and she had great faith, for it turned to belief as it took on action that just would not give up. It was her faith that was filled with trust that made her daughter whole. What is your judgment trusting in? The record of Jesus Christ is still100% true to his word. Isn't that enough reason to trust in it? Than what is stopping you? How many reasons can a person come up with that just do not hold water when Jesus's record is always 100% on!
