The artist knows of what they preform
The gift they have is embedded when born.
Each traveling show they take a bow
The everlasting applause they receive is then and now.
Many awards or just a review
Is how they begin to write lines new.
A performance well reached of those who speak
They say you entertain but never too bleak.
A stage is a space that needs your face
An artist like you connects with that place.
Many fans that wish you well from month to year
The very best are ones that buy you a beer.
Children Sit Down.
The children sit down to eat food at home
A strong suggestion that no one uses their phone.
No ipads no vines as they pass the time
Let’s talk and laugh to know they are fine.
One kick hear one kick there
You pass the carrots with a smiling stare.
They speak of days they play with friends
Actions and adventures playfulness sends.
The deep devotion you show your kids
Is of utmost importance and first on your list.
They slip away into rooms they sleep
To have conversations that can be deep.
Just hope they’re safe and know your there
For the times they will need to know you really care.
Small to you is big to me
No matter the size it’s what it will be.
The time you give is precious enough
I’m always thankful you show your love.
Keep me safe in mind and heart
As nothing will stop us being apart.
Everyday is one more chance
To give a smile to people you pass.
The longing for acceptance is always there
Until you say something they will not care.
Look up i say don’t stare at pavements
As someone might need you for a lasting favour.
Just look around what do you see
Is there something you hadn’t noticed that now sets you free.
Take home the conversations you hear on the train
Think of those less fortunate and create a gesture that will remain.
Still in Love
He speaks to me from days gone by
When history remembered those memories were mine.
He forgot to ask me how i’d been
Probably knowing that i’d thought of him in a dream.
Others not sure of what they see
It’s been so long since him and me.
Catching up is awkward enough
Especially when they moved on but you’re still in love.
