Introduction

This Guide is written for anyone who would like to do space clearing for themselves. Although you may not have the gift of clairaudience, or insight into the life that lies beyond, Naja wants everyone to know that is not necessary to pay a shaman or a healer to do it for you. All you need is the willingness to open your heart, and perhaps a little bit of courage. For you must know that within your heart lies the possibility to connect with those who have gone before and who wish the very best for you.

This guide also explains how to use incense to call the ancestral energy of Li into your life as described here.

However whilst previous Guides have focused on how you may benefit from the guidance of the ancestors, this Guide offers rare insight into how your ancestors may benefit from your prayers. For as you pray for souls of an ancestral line, the strength of that line increases as souls are reunited. In this way, through prayer and compassion, those who belong together may be as one in light.

The reason that specific incense blends are included is because these blends create better connections with the non-material world. You are welcome to use them for your own purposes however, the author offers the following caution: these blends are very powerful and have strong effects. For this reason it is advisable to abide by the cautions provided in the text. In particular, do not ask your ancestors for money and do not use these methods to wish harm upon another person.

Finally, please note that this Guide is composed – as are all others in this series – entirely of material I have ‘heard’. As is customary in the introduction to these Guides, I cordially ask the reader to overlook the arguable androcentric terms ‘man’ and ‘mankind’. As someone who ‘hears’ I find that it is just easier for me to write down exactly what I hear, rather than edit and adapt it for my audience. Please know that no offence is intended. Perhaps instead you will turn your mind to considering how extraordinary it is that a woman gets to hear / interpret an ancient Feng Shui tradition – one that died out over 3,000 years ago, a time in which such traditions would almost certainly not have been transmitted to a female.

Connecting with the non-material world

People must know that the harmony in their heart will bring peace to their home. No matter what they may know of the sun and the stars and their fortune on earth, without walking as one with light they will never know peace.

This peace it brings with it light, for man is created of light – although this you do not know. The home and heart of peace are light-filled dwellings that shine bright like stars seen from great distances. This light attracts the spirit of the ancestors and, as your light grows, so do their numbers. Their love for you, and their willingness to shape the path that is Li, will guide you to eternal rest.

But any light will also attract those whose presence is not required. Many of these are fallen souls, or souls of the undead – men and women who wander the earth without knowing the joys of love. These souls, trapped until rebirth, seek love wherever they can find it. They like to see and know that love exists, for this they were denied. Among this number too are souls of those who have died but have not yet been reborn.

These souls will linger – in your home, where you rest, watching over your children. They mean no harm and cause no burden, but they must be removed. For their presence is dark and their act of lingering blocks the light around you. This light must shine as it is by this means that ancestors are gathered.

Pray too that the ancestors may be united, that love once found may be rejoined in the realm beyond time. Man has this power to reunite through prayer and contemplation. Pray as one, be the light, join the path of Li.

To call forth Li

The purpose of calling forth Li is to ask your ancestors to forgive your past mistakes and open your heart to love. After calling forth Li you must:

1. Thank your ancestors for the gift of life

2. Ask them what they need

Do this even if you cannot hear the reply. Then make offering – it can be a prayer or a photograph or a flower, but it must be a new offering each time.

After doing this, close eyes and imagine body as a being in light, as one in light. Ask that your body is healed by light and that the path of Li may shine on you.

Space clearing – the peaceful removal of unwanted spirits from your home

This is very straightforward. Stand in a room, light a taper and close your eyes. Hold it in your right hand and raise over your head. Bow your head and ask any unwanted spirits to leave. Say: By the power of Li I carry in my heart, I command you to leave. Repeat using the same lighted incense by walking through each room. Or, if you wish, you can use this prayer:

With love in my heart

I wish to be heard by those who are now present.

Leave my dwelling, for this is not your home;

You are not of my kin.

Free my light, and let it shine

So we may be as one.

To bring lovers together

Lovers everywhere are blessed by Li for Li is the path of love. It is the path that brings hearts together, the path of children. Light the incense and offer a prayer to the ancestors that they may bless your love.

The incense blends

Incense blend 1 – to call forth Li

Composition: 3 parts Myrrh, 1 part Ylang Ylang

Explanation: The gifts to draw the attention of the ancestors are described as needing to send light to heaven. This you know as Myrrh – it calls the heaven to earth. In this state man may more clearly see, more clearly hear the guidance of heaven; may more clearly see, more clearly hear the rhythm of the stars. For the stars and heavens turn and man must follow, this is the law of heaven. Ylang Ylang is but a guide and draws the best of man’s heart to heaven. For man is light but not light, man is love, but not love. It is not easy for man to draw the essence of nature into his heart, or to become one with nature. For this is man’s final rest: to die, to lie beneath the tree that gave him life. Seek the counsel of trees and they shall tell you all, for man’s essence burst forth from their branches.

Beware: this is very strong – the intention must be correct to call the ancestors. Do not use without calling ancestors for it will attract unnecessary attention.

Incense blend 2 – to clear spirits from the house

Composition: 4 parts Frankincense, 1 part Cedarwood

Explanation: Know the ways of nature and you will know it all – there is no higher knowledge than that of knowing nothing. There is no higher place than that of below. For from below you truly see the power of heaven and how it moves the ways of man. Think not that in dying you will discover the true essence of man – for the true essence of man is in living as one with the breath of nature.

With Frankincense and Cedarwood you may ask for any matter and your prayer will be heard. There is no power on earth but man’s, there is no guiding hand. But for that which is not earth, there are many things concealed. If you make a wish then your wish will be heard, but be careful for wishes are foolish things. It is man’s folly that he must be caught in the circle of misfortune that comes from wishes large and small. Wish only for that which impedes souls path to be away. Never wish for an earth event, not even in your heart, for misfortune will rain on your head like rocks of rain. You may wish to rid your presence of unwanted souls as they cling to your light in vain. They are harmless but their darkness stands in the way of elevation through light.

Incense blend 3 – to bring lovers together

Composition: Equal parts Bergamot, Frankincense and Myrrh.

Explanation: All love is blessed by the ancestors for this is the path of Li. This is the path of light, of love of eternal joy. The ancestors have the power to grant earth joy and to beckon the children blessed from afar. Such children are rare, gifts only of those who are deserving. With this love you may together become one. This one is not Li, it is a gift and it is a warning to keep to the path of union with nature. For those who fail to see and hear, who fail to embrace the wonder of nature cannot be reborn and cannot be blessed with the children from afar.

The children from afar have been born before again and again. This is their final journey and their souls are very weak for they have become children of light. This weakness is their gift, for their love remains unchanged. It is this beauty that nature knows and must destroy. These souls are rarely given the time to dwell and thrive for this is not their journey. This, their final journey, is for the purpose of dying so they may embrace the light, never to return.

This is the path of Li – to live as one, to be blessed by the ancestors, to be blessed by children of light, to return no more. May that you have goodness in your heart and become one with light.

About the author

Naja Li takes her name from the Li tradition of Feng Shui, in honour of the Masters who have entrusted their knowledge to her. She came across Feng Shui as a discipline whilst studying Chinese Medicine, and has trained with a Master in Melbourne. Sometime last century she read Classics and Biblical Studies at Trinity College Dublin and later encountered Eastern religion at Monash University. As befits someone who has spent most of their adult life thinking about religion, she is a sworn atheist.

In 2016 she started to ‘hear’ aspects of the Li tradition of Feng Shui. Once she accepted the role of one who communicates Li, her access to Feng Shui knowledge around health and sickness, living and dying expanded. She offers no rationale for the practice of clairaudience, or why these teachings may have been made available to her at this time.

Thank you for reading this book. If you have enjoyed it then please leave a review, perhaps on the site from which you downloaded it, so others may benefit. I benefit immensely from your thoughts and I often use them to construct explanatory material.

To the best of my knowledge I am the only person writing about this tradition. As a Feng Shui tradition, Li is unique in being grounded in concern for the dead. For the Li Masters wanted to ensure that the souls of all persons who had died were transported intact to the realm beyond death – to a place described as ‘the love that exists beyond time’. In this realm, all souls would be united as one in love and light in a way that was not possible on earth.

And although Li does not downplay the importance of living, it was oriented towards the experience of the love that exists beyond time, a realm described as ‘only light’. So much so that the system of living that is here called Feng Shui is actually a programme for living that acts as one of three gateways to this realm. The other two gateways are death and the assistance provided by the ancestors. For more information please visit www.houseofli.com.au.
