Savior

When death seems like your only escape,

Know that Jesus is your way,

Even when you fall from grace,

Throw away your fear,

Your Savior is here.

He fills my mind with new found hope,

He helps me climb this downward slope,

Let your faith help you cope,

Throw away your fear,

Your Savior is here.

Let the tears fall from your eyes,

Let Him wash away all the lies,

He’ll pick you up so you can rise,

Throw away your fear,

Your Savior is here.

He lets your soul be cleansed,

You look at the world in a whole new lens,

This is a beginning not an end,

You have no need for fear,

Your Savior is here.

Believe

When the journey seems far too long,

When I’m having trouble moving on,

When the storm begins to set in,

When your tormentors wear devilish grins,

I know you were always there for me,

I may not be perfect but I have what I need.

You never gave up on me,

So I will always believe.

It doesn’t matter what they do or say,

It doesn’t matter, I know my way,

It doesn’t need to start a war,

It isn’t religion it is so much more,

I know you were always there for me,

I may not be perfect but I have what I need.

Scales

It’s so hard standing in a crowd,

Saying that you aren’t lost, You’re found,

Saying that Jesus will never let you down,

But Jesus is so great that you gotta be proud,

Even when death will surround,

Jesus will help you up off the ground.

It is fools like me that let him die on that cross,

Saying things that just made us more lost,

Saying that we didn’t realize the cost,

But Jesus took my burnt bridges and helped me across,

Even when I’m facing great loss,

Jesus will hold me aloft.

It’s so painful when Jesus is put down by my peers,

Saying that there is no God here,

Saying it with a devilish sneer,

But Jesus can rid them of sin and fear,

Even when they’re vision isn’t clear,

Jesus can remove scales from their eyes and open they’re ears.

Lost In You

So much pain you helped me through,

Every word of the Bible leaves me lost in You,

Every time I begin to hurt on the inside,

Your presence offers me more time.

When this life is far too much,

Your spirit builds me a crutch,

I can feel You within my heart,

You prevent me from falling apart.

I know that when You died on that cross,

It was for the ones like me who feel so lost,

And now I finally find myself lost in You,

Your spirit is in everything I do.

Pray

When your darkness feels like it’s all there is,

And you’ve almost had enough of this,

And you don’t feel like you can pray anymore,

Every time you get your hopes it just leaves you torn.

But now the Holy Spirit is breaking through your shell,

Showing you that Heaven is stronger than Hell,

Showing you that you don’t always have to save yourself.

Pray for tomorrow.

Pray for today.

Don’t get caught up in what happened yesterday,

Because even when you are close to caving in,

God will wash away your sin.

No One But You

Can anybody take me?

Shape and remake me?

To who I’m supposed to be.

To who I’m supposed to be.

Nobody can take me,

No one but you.

Oh God, no one but you.

Can anybody take me?

Shape me and remake me?

To who I’m supposed to be.

This is who I’m supposed to be.

The Hardest Part

I’ve been blind for so long, living in a world that hates me.

I’ve been chained for so long, living in a world where I’m not free.

So now I forget all of my flaws and my boundaries.

I ask for You to help me carry this cross in the miles ahead.

You can fix my broken soul if you can raise the dead.

You see the hardest part for me is asking for help.

I am so thankful that I don’t always have to save myself.

And I realize that this heavy cross is mine to bear.

But I still pray that you are always there.

And deep down inside I finally know.

You are my savior.

I’ve been chained for so long, living in a world where I’m not free.

So now I forget all of my flaws and my boundaries.

I ask for You to help me carry this cross in the miles ahead.

You can fix my broken soul if you can raise the dead.

I believe in you because you never stopped believing in me.

Jesus is the only thing that can break these chains and set me free.

… And She Prays

I’ve been blind for so long, living in a world that hates me.

I’ve been chained for so long, living in a world where I’m not free.

So now I forget all of my flaws and my boundaries.

I ask for your to help me carry this cross in the miles ahead.

You can fix my broken soul if you can raise the dead.

You see the hardest part for me is asking for help.

Faith Wore Thin

[Times are getting harder.
Roads are getting longer.
Battles are getting hopeless.
My Faith is slowing disappearing.
This is everything that I’ve been fearing.
My Faith wore thin but I kept on living.
My burden broke me but I kept on giving.
I want You to know that You made me feel alive,
My Faith may give out but You helped me survive.]

[Now please don’t give up on me,
Though I realize that I’m not worth it.
Please don’t leave me alone,
I’m sorry that I’m imperfect.
I promise You that I’ll make this up to you,
But without my Faith there seems to be nothing I can do.
But despite this I won’t admit that I’m not fine,
I may lose my mind but I won’t cross that line.
I want to feel better but no matter what I try,
I have less smiles to smile then tears to cry.]

[Faith wore thing but this isn’t the end.
Because scars will heal and words will mend.
I am not going to hang on to their hurtful words,
Because holding on was the reason why they hurt.
I fought and I won though it feels like I lost.
I am here.
My Faith wore thin.]

[But am still here,
And I don’t have to fight myself any more.
Because I have a Savior and I’m not too far gone.
I finally feel free.
My Faith is finally renewed,
Despite everything that I’ve been through.
I feel brand new in a rain of Grace,
Now nothing can ever break my Faith.]

I Lean On My Faith

[Sometimes it is hard living like you’re lost,
And living like you’re dead,
But He died on that cross.
I know that sometimes it feels like He’s doesn’t listen,
And you begin to lose the Faith,
Like what’s the point in being a Christian?
Because it feels like all of you’re prayers don’t get answers,
So you keep on reliving the same page,
Why can’t you just turn to the next chapter?
I know there are times when I feel this way,
But when times get tough I lean on my Faith.]

[Now the world doesn’t think that Christ is cool,
So you stay silent,
He is pushed out of society and thrown out of schools.
People laugh when they hear that you are leaving for God,
So you forget Him,
And you forget about facing the odds.
He died for you but it seems so hard you you to even stand up,
You forget who saved you,
You forget that His sacrifice was out of love.
I know that when you realize what you’ve done you’ll feel like a disgrace,
But when I feel like this I lean on my Faith.]

[Faith can be hard to find when it feels like you are worthless,
But He knows your name,
And He gave you a purpose.
Their words may hurt but he will always be by your side,
Even when you give up Faith,
And even when you cheat, steal, and lie.
Because you may fail but believe that he never will,
He fight for you,
Even the battle feels like it is uphill.
I want you to know that, despite your flaws, that it will okay,
Because when times get dark just lean on your Faith.]

This book is dedicated to my family and my church family. None of this would be possible without the people who drove me to improve my talents and the use them to glorify God. This will hopefully be the first of many books as God allows me to get my work out there for more people to see. I hope that everyone has enjoyed this short collection because I look forward to putting together my next one!
