Just Scars

Here we are once again.

And again I fall for you.

They say love is a game, meant for two to play.

But we both know there’s a deeper story to why I choose to stay.

Let me go, to keep me by your side.

Keep me trapped and smother the fire only

You know how to hide.

I have been here a million times before.

I know I should leave, but my heart always comes back…

Wanting more.

There’s a fine line between love and lust,

But it was blurred so long ago.

You hurt me in ways, I still don’t even know.

Take me then, take me now. It’s all the same.

In the end, who’s heart will carry the blame?

Night to day, day to night.

Where did I lose the will to choose what was right?

And the mystery of your true self maybe I will

never truly know.

You are a master of disguise, always deceiving with a game you won’t ever show.

And I see…

I see shades of darkness in your eyes…eyes that I once knew so well. And I know now the secret of your hidden self and the weakness of every spell.

Where this path leads I can never tell,

But this way takes me further and further away

From the place I was in; a forgotten kind of hell.

A single breath. A single heartbeat against the pain. And I see you for what you truly are.

What you truly are.

A prince never appeared so royal in his own majesty,

But beneath his fair facade lies a selfish nature only those closest to him will ever see.

Tell me now where you stand.

Confess to the world of every reprimand.

I see you.

I see your every move.

I was never the one who had something to prove.

And you’d think I would have only hatred for you. Only resentment and bitterness from what you took from me. But that’s where you would be wrong. I’m no longer in a state where I fell so far.

Do you remember when I was weak enough for you to keep?

And do you remember when I cried out in the nightmares of an endlessly sleep?

One more time, I’ll look back and cast my past away.

And no more will you have me in the light and shades of future days.

There’s truth to finding monsters in the dark.

And there’s scars that forever leave a mark.

But you won’t be the one to break me, no you won’t be the one to win.

One story ends, never to be told again.

And this is the moment where a new one begins.

You are the reason I am alive. There’s irony in these pages of my life. You murdered me in every way but now I hold the knife.

Now I hold the knife.

I see the blood dripping from my own hands and then I realize…

My world was lost long ago to yours, and I can’t tell the difference anymore between my truth and your lies.

Tell me there’s a way to live,

Let there be hope I can ever forgive.

And I let you go…let you go to forever.

For holding on will just keep the darkness inside of me.

Letting you go, now & always, is the only way I can be free.

Look up to the stars.

Let your soul fly free.

Never let anyone tell you just who to be.

And take the strength left in your own

Heart and mind.

Choose a path where you will shine.

And you shall always

Shine.

Letter to Reader,

It has always been my sincere dream to write and share my words with the entire world. Thank you for reading and for being my inspiration to chase after my own dreams.
