[]Chapter 1: [
**]Why Do I Need A Savior?[][]

God loves you and cares for you so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to be a sacrifice for you. God loves so much that He desires to be in a personal relationship with you to impart His love and blessings upon you. You can begin that relationship with God today and start receiving His love and blessings in your own life. If you are ready to enter into all that God has for, then continue reading and get ready to receive God’s love and blessings!

Why Do I Need A Savior?

The Bible says:

[* “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23 (NLT). *]

Sin separated us from God. If you have never received Jesus as Your Savior then you are separated from God by sin and you do not have eternal life.

But I’ve have good news! It’s because of God’s great love for you that God sent Jesus to the Cross. He sent Jesus to the Cross to be the perfect sacrifice for your sins. At the Cross, Jesus took your punishment for your sins and therefore purchase your complete forgiveness of sins. Because of what Jesus accomplished at the Cross, you can come to to God in faith and become His beloved child and receive His gift of eternal life through Jesus.

The Bible says in John 3:16,

[*“For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (NLT) *]

God so loved you that He gave His only Son for you to be the perfect sacrifice for all your sins.

Are you starting to understand why you need a Savior? Let’s take a look at the very beginning… Genesis the first Book of the Bible.

Genesis records that God created the world and everything in it. (Gen 1) He also created human beings. The first two humans He created was Adam and Eve. In the beginning there was no sin because Adam and Eve did not have the knowledge of evil. They didn’t know how to sin. They were made in the image and likeness of God. (Gen 1:26) God created them a beautiful home in the Garden of Eden and gave them every wonderful gift for them to enjoy. Life was good and perfect.

Adam and Eve only had one “do not” commandment from God. Just one thing that they could do to disobey God which would result in sin. Let’s see what it was:

[* “but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” Genesis 2:17 (NIV)*]

God instructed them not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God knew that if they ate from that tree, they would gain knowledge of evil. Then sin and evil would enter into the world.

Guess what happened? Eventually satan, the enemy of God and all mankind, deceived Eve into eating from the tree. And she in turn gave some to Adam and he ate of it as well. (Genesis 3)

When they did, they unleashed evil and sin into this world and sin became a barrier between God and man. This is what is referred to as “the fall”.

The Bible says that sin entered the world through one man, Adam.

“When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.” Romans 5:12

After “the fall” of man in Genesis, God provide a temporary system to bring about forgiveness of sins and to make people right with Him. It was called “The Law”. The Law is also referred to as “The Old Covenant” in the Bible.

In the Old Testament (The Law) priests had to sacrifice animals and perform various religious rituals to make people right with God. However the blood of animals was not powerful enough to provide permanent forgiveness. It was only temporal. Thus they had to constantly sacrifice animals such as goats, bulls and lambs to cover the people’s sins.

Why Do We Need A Sacrifice For Our Sins?

Why do we need a sacrifice for our sins you might ask? Because according to God’s Word, “For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.” Hebrews 9:22 (NLT).

So God sent His only Son, Jesus to be the perfect sacrifice for all of our sins. Jesus took our place, our punishment for our sins and shed His blood for us. Jesus then become our Savior! Saving us from eternal separation and damnation apart from God because of our sins.

The Bible calls Jesus, the Lamb of God referring to the perfect sacrifice made on our behalf.

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29 (NLT)

The good news is that no matter what you have done, no matter how terrible of a life you may of lived, no matter what poor choices or mistakes you have made….. God loves you and He is ready for you to come to Him and receive total and complete forgiveness of every sin you have ever committed. He is ready to be reconciled with you. This has all been made possible with the shedding of Jesus’ blood at the Cross over 2,000 years ago.

When Jesus gave up His life on Cross and shed His precious blood for us, it established a New Covenant with God for us. This New covenant is better than the Old Covenant. (Also referred to as Old & New Testament).

“For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. That is why, when Christ came into the world”. Hebrews 10:4 (NLT)

Scripture reveals that the blood of animals was not powerful enough to take away our sins. So Christ came into this world and His blood is powerful enough to take away all the sins of the world! There is power in the Blood of Jesus!

The Bible says that through Jesus’ one act of righteousness we can be made right with God!

“Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone”. Romans 5:18

You may ask, “Is there another way to be saved from sin other than Jesus?” The answer is no. The Bible clearly says that Jesus is the only way to salvation:

“There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (NLT)

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 (NLT)

“Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” John 3:3 (NLT)

Jesus is the Savior of the World! There is salvation by no one else. No one can come to God except through Jesus Christ. If you are seeking salvation, then you are on the right path…. the Jesus path!

You may think, well you don’t know what I have done. I am beyond hope because of my sins. I can’t be saved. I can’t be good enough.

The truth is no one is or ever can be good enough to be born again. And the awesome news is that you don’t have to be good enough to be saved and come into right relationship with God! God provided the sacrifice through His Son Jesus so ANYONE who would come to Him in faith believing in His Son could become born again and receive eternal life. There is no one beyond Hope.

Jesus is the Hope of the World (Matthew 12:21) There is no one so far gone that Jesus can not and will not save! All that is required is that you come to Jesus in faith believing in Him and receive Him as your Savior. When you do, you are washed clean as snow and are placed in a place of “right standing” with God. Then God’s Spirit re-creates your spirit so you become a child of God. (This is called “the new birth” or “being born again” or “being saved”.)

That brings us to the next question….. What does being born again mean? Let’s find out in the next chapter!

[]Chapter 2: [
**]What Does Being “Born Again” Mean?[][]

In the last chapter we saw a statement that Jesus made in John 3:3,

“Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” (NLT)

Being born again is a spiritual rebirth of your spirit. When you accept Jesus as Your Savior and the sacrifice He made for you, your spirit man becomes “re-created” by the Spirit of God. If a person has never accepted Jesus your spirit man is dead. You belong to the Kingdom of Darkness, satan’s kingdom. (John 8:44) So when you die you will go to hell because you belong to the kingdom of darkness and your spirit isn’t “born again”. If you are not born again you can not enter into the Kingdom Of God.

2 Corinthians 5:17, states that when you accept Jesus as your Savior, you become a new creature, or new creation—old things pass away and all things become new! That is referring to your spirit man.

When you accept Jesus and become born again, you then can enter into the kingdom of God and receive eternal life. That means when you pass away from this earth, you will go into God’s Kingdom, which is Heaven.

Jesus takes away your sins and imparts unto you His righteousness. The righteousness that Jesus gives is a gift that can not be earned. You can never be good enough to earn God’s approval or earn a spot in Heaven. It is only by God’s grace, a gift from Him that you can be saved and have eternal life. It is not by our good works. But by faith in Christ that we are saved.

“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT)

“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” I Corinthians 5:21 (NLT)

Who Is Jesus?

Jesus is the Son of God! The Messiah. The Savior of the world. (Matthew 16:16)

You can read about the life and ministry of Jesus in the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the New Testament of the Bible.

They accurately give an account of Jesus’ life, ministry and death on the Cross. Jesus was conceived in the womb of a virgin, Mary, supernaturally by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:35). Mary gave birth to Jesus in Bethlehem. (Luke 2:7)

When Jesus was 30 years old, He was baptized in water by John the Baptist and at the same time baptized by The Spirit of God. (Luke 3:22). Shortly after this time, Jesus began his earthly ministry. He preached the Kingdom of God, healed the sick and cast out demons from oppressed people. (Matthew 4:23; 9:35)

Then at the age of 33 He laid down his life for us (John 10:18) and was crucified to death on a cross. (John 19:30).

Then 3 days after his death and burial, Jesus rose from the dead victorious over hell, death and the grave. (I Cor 15:4, Rev 1:18)

“He (Jesus) was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.” 1 Corinthians 15:4

Then Jesus ascended to His Heavenly Father and sat down at God’s right hand. He was given all power and authority in Heaven and earth. (1 Peter 3:22, Matthew 28:18)

Jesus won a surpassing victory over sin by conquering hell, death and the grave for us. He provided His blood and His life for us so we could have forgiveness for all of our sins and eternal life through Him!

What Is The Gospel?

The word “Gospel” means good news. The Gospel is the Good News about what Jesus did for you at the Cross. It is the good news that God is not holding your sins and trespasses again you!

“For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them.” 2 Corinthians 5:19

The Gospel is the good news that you don’t have to go to hell. You you can receive God’s free gift of salvation and spend eternity in Heaven because your sins have been forgiven because of the finished work of the Cross. (Eph 2:8)

You might ask, if Jesus died for all the sins of the world, then how come we don’t all automatically go to Heaven? That is a very good question. Here is the answer!

God has given to each person the gift of free will. You have your own right to choose how you are going to live, who you are going to serve and where you are going to spend all of eternity. God isn’t going to force any one to choose Him. You have the right to choose your own destiny. God sets before each one of us a choice….

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life.” Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT)

As you can see from this passage, He longs for you to choose life! Choosing Jesus is Life! Eternal Life!

The Bible also reveals that it is not God’s will that any should perish (stay in the Kingdom of Darkness) but that all should have eternal life through Jesus.

“But God is being patient with you. He does not want anyone to be lost, but he wants all people to change their hearts and lives.” 2 Peter 3:9 (NCV)

So today, God is setting before you life (Jesus) and death (satan). Choose! God is wanting you to choose Life (Jesus).

Jesus is extending His hand of love and grace to you right now asking you to come to Him and be a part of His forever family. Will you accept His gracious invitation?

If you say, “YES I WANT JESUS”!, then continue on to the next chapter. You will find Him there waiting for you with open loving arms!

[]Chapter 3: [
**]How Do I Become Born Again?[][]

The most important decision that you can ever make is accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and becoming born again. If you have attended Church or was raising in a Christian home but never prayed and accepted Jesus than you are not born again. Becoming born again isn’t about going to Church or being a good person. It’s about accepting Jesus and the finished work of the Cross for yourself personally. So if you are not sure if you are born again, then you should pray and receive Jesus for yourself. If you have received Jesus already, you can still pray this prayer and re-affirm your faith in Him.

Jesus is extending His loving hand to you right now! Just receive Him!

How To Receive Jesus and Become Born Again

The Word of God says how to become saved (born again) in Romans 10:9-10:

“if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10)

The Word of God also says in Romans 10:13:

“For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

According to Scripture to become born again, you must:

1. Confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus.

2. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead.

3. Call on the Name of the Lord (Jesus).

Are you ready to receive Jesus and become born again (or re-affirm your faith)?

Pray this prayer out loud:

Jesus, I believe that You gave yourself for me to be the perfect sacrifice to provide complete forgiveness of all my sins and eternal life through You. I believe in my heart that God raised You from the dead and I confess You, Lord Jesus, with my mouth. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins and wash me clean. I now receive You, Jesus as my Lord and Savior. By faith in God’s Word, I receive Your free gift of salvation. Thank You for giving me the precious gift of eternal life. I thank You that I am now part of God’s Forever Family as His beloved child. In Your Name Jesus I pray. Amen.

Now declare out loud: Jesus in my Lord and Savior. I am born again, a new creation in Christ. I am a child of God!

Welcome to the family of God! If you prayed the prayer and meant it in your heart, your spirit was born again. You are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old has past away and all things have become new (2 Cor. 5:17). You accepted Jesus and the perfect sacrifice He made for all your sins. Your new life begins this very moment. Jesus has not only made you all new in your spirit man, but He has also given you the wonderful gift of eternal life. When you pass away from this earth, you will go to Heaven and live with the family of God for all eternity.

You have just made the best decision in your entire life! And now you may be wondering what is next? How do I build a relationship with Jesus? That brings us to the next chapter!

[]Chapter 4:[
**]How Do I Build A Relationship With Jesus?[][]

Staying in daily fellowship with Jesus is the number one priority of the Christian life. It is the key that opens every door to this life and eternity! As a child of God you have the privilege of having access to God 24/7. What an honor and a privilege to be able to commune with God when ever and where ever you want!

“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrews 4:16

Jesus is always ready and willing to give you His mercy and grace to help when you need it! His love for you is always reaching out to meet your needs and to bring you into “the abundant life”.

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 (NKJV)

Develop a lifestyle of spending time with Jesus and becoming closer to Him. This will help you to stay strong and overcome anything that might come your way.

Here are a few ways to spend time with Jesus:

1. Spending time reading the Bible.

Reading the Word of God every day will “feed” your spirit and bring strength, life and wisdom to you. The Word of God even says that the Word of God is health and medicine for all your flesh. (Prov 4:22)

“This Book of the Law (The Bible) shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”. Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)

Spending time in the Word of God and meditating on the Word will bring you prosperity and success.

2. Spend time in prayer.

Prayer is simply talking to God. It doesn’t have to be complicated or eloquent. Spend some time every day talking with Him. Also part of prayer is listening to God’s spirit. As you spend more time with Him you will develop an “ear” to hear His voice more and more.

3. Spend time in praise and worship.

It would be a great investment to get a few Christian worship CD’s. Listening to positive praise music builds up your faith and your spirit. It also brings you into the presence of God. Praise and worship can break off depression and heaviness and bring a joyful spirit! If you do not have the finances at this time, check your local public library for Christian music. Also there are good Christian radio stations that you can listen to online for free.

4. Spend time journaling.

Journaling is a great way to connect with Jesus. You can pour out your heart in a notebook or online diary. A prayer journal is a great way to keep track on the wonderful things Jesus does for you and your loved ones.

5. Find A Good Church & Godly Friendships

Fellowshiping with other Believers and being a part of a community of Believers helps you to grow and experience many blessings from Jesus. If you are not attending a good Bible-based Church, you will want to begin to pray and ask Jesus where you should start attending. Wait on Him for an answer. Choosing a good Church is very important. All churches are not the same. You want to be in one where you will be taught the Word of God, grow and mature and be divinely connected to the right people. So pray and seek Jesus as where to attend.

Spending time with Jesus is vital to living a victorious Christian life and enjoying all the many blessings and benefits He has for you!

If you prayed and received Jesus, then you are ready to pray and receive the Holy Spirit and the special gift of a new prayer language. That brings us to the next and final chapter of this book.

[]Chapter 5: [
**]How Do I Receive The Holy Spirit?[][]

As a child of God, your loving Heavenly Father wants to fill you with His Holy Spirit. God’s wants to give you the precious gift of the The Holy Spirit to be your Helper, Comforter, and Intercessor. (John 14:16) The Holy Spirit will give you the empowerment you need to live a new life in Christ. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you will receive a new supernatural prayer language that allows the Holy Spirit to pray for you and be your intercessor. (Romans 8:26-27)

There are many benefits to praying in your supernatural prayer language. Here are just a few of the many benefits:

1. Praying in the Spirit “edifies you” and “builds you up”. (Jude 1:20)

2. Praying in the Spirit increases and strengthens your faith. (Jude 1:20)

3. The Spirit intercedes for you and prayers the perfect prayers for what you need. (Romans 8:26-27)

4. Praying in your prayer language helps you to overcome weakness, infirmities or problems that you may have. (Romans 8:26-27)

5. It helps cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in you which is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23)

How do I receive the Holy Spirit you may ask? The Word of God says, “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened…. how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:10-13) All you have to do is ASK! It’s really that simple.

Are you ready to receive the Holy Spirit, your Comforter, Helper and Intercessor? Pray this prayer out loud:

“Father, I want to receive Your Holy Spirit. I ask You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I receive the Holy Spirit right now by faith. Thank You for baptizing me with Your Spirit and for filling me. Holy Spirit, You are welcome in my life. Help me to pray in my new prayer language and reap the many blessings that You have for me. I give You thanks and praise in Jesus Name. Amen.”

Praise God you are now filled with God’s Spirit and you can now activate your new supernatural prayer language. Just begin to speak out from your spirit and some syllables you don’t recognize will rise up from your heart to your mouth. (1 Corinthians 14:14)

As you begin to speak them out loud, you are releasing God’s power from within your spirit man and you will begin building yourself up in the Spirit. (Jude 1:20)

You can pray in the Spirit with your new prayer language whenever and where ever you like. I recommend that you pray at least a few minutes in your prayer language every morning. It’s the best way to start your day. You can pray in the shower or as you get ready for work or school. You can also pray while you are working around the house or doing yard work. It’s the best way to connect to Heaven and to get a “supernatural” download of blessings into your spirit man and into your life. If you continue to pray in your new language regularly you will begin to see great results!

I am going to pray for you and your new life in Christ.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this precious reader to Your Throne of Grace and pray Your hand of blessing and protection upon them all their days. I ask You to draw them closer to Your heart and reveal Yourself to them more and more. Help them to spend time in Your Word, prayer and fellowship with Jesus daily. Help them to make it a priority. I ask You to strengthen them in their inner man and cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in them. I pray that You will guide them to the right Church, to divine connections and new godly friendships. I pray You will keep them safe from evil and harm and help them to live a victorious, blessed life in Jesus. Fill them with Your love, peace and joy. Bring healing, restoration and blessing where ever it is needed. I thank You Lord for doing amazing things in them and for them in Jesus Name. Amen.

In closing I want to speak a blessing over you from Numbers 6:24-26:

[“May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.”]
