Insecurity in the Homeland: The Terrorist and Me, follows Midwestern security manager Kate Damon as she deals with a series of murders at work that appear to be the work of a terrorist organization. Along the way she copes with the lunacies of her workplace and the eccentrics in her life who include her schizophrenic mother, cremated father in an urn, supportive dog and cat, and brother who once believed he was Jesus. Ultimately she will face the killer. I am a security and counter-terrorism expert with decades of related experience. I served as security director of an international corporation and vice president of the largest security firm in the world. In addition to my experience as a security manager, Kate’s dealings with her family draw closely from my own experiences with erratic parents. This character-driven novel humorously and uniquely looks through the eyes of one charged with the responsibility to protect the people at her workplace during the most stressful of times.
