Sally was a quiet butterfly who just wanted to make friends but no one ever seemed to notice her.
She visited the playground and went to the swings where some girls were playing.
“Can I play to?” she asked, but no one answered her.
So, Sally went over to the slide where some boys were taking turns.
“Can I have a turn to?” she asked, but the boys pushed passed her and didn’t answer.
Disappointed, Sally went over to the see-saw where some boys and girls were laughing and having fun.
“I want to play!” she mumbled, but again, no one listened.
With tears in her eyes, Sally flew back to her Mum.
“No one will play with me,” she cried.
“You’re a lovely butterfly. I know someone will play with you, go back and try again”. Said Sally’s Mum
Sally saw some kids playing tag and tried to join in.
“You can’t catch me!” She said but no one looked at her.
Feeling sad and ready to cry she shouted,
“I HAVE A VOICE TOO!”
Little Tommy Tiger was sitting by himself and heard Sally shout. He ran over to her and said, “I have a voice too, and I’d like to play with you.”
So Sally and Little Tommy Tiger played with his kite.
They laughed and had a good time.
Back at home, Sally said,
“I did it! I made a friend today.”
