Halloween’s Serenade

Halloween is upon us once again,

It’s time to scare a very close friend.

Put the batteries in the talking skeletons and Goblin by the shelf,

Don’t worry about Dolly, at night she moves all by herself.

Make sure the cauldrons are filled to the brim with sugary treats,

Turn up the volume of the radio to blast the haunting beats.

Don’t forget to light the Jack O’ Lanterns and do not stray,

For he’ll make sure to drive away the monsters heading your way.

Once the last lantern blows out, lock your doors tight,

And pray to whomever, that you’ll survive this terrifying night.

“From what?” You ask, trust me don’t ask no more,

It won’t be long now until they start knocking at your door.

Don’t question why they haunt you and don’t be so afraid,

The howls and horrifying screams are just Halloween’s Serenade.

Dear Monster Under My Bed

Dear Monster Under My Bed,

Why are you hiding under there? Was it because of something I said?

Isn’t it cold down there? Is that why you hear a hat on your head?

Dear Monster Under My Bed,

Why do you cry everytime I close my eyes to sleep?

Is it because you’re lonely or because you have a secret you can’t keep?

Dear Monster Under My Bed,

What do you eat?

Children? Mice? Pets or stinky feet?

Dear Monster Under My Bed,

How long will you stay there?

I ask because you don’t help clean my room and that isn’t fair.

Dear Monster Under My Bed,

Why is everyone scared of you?

You seem harmless or is that not true?

Dear Monster Under My Bed,

Do you ever get hungry?

Wait! Why are you standing over me? No! Let Go! Don’t! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

My Beloved Jack O’ Lantern

My Beloved Jack O’ Lantern,

Don’t you dare leave me here alone tonight,

I need you here to comfort me and I need your light.

This Halloween is scarier; I can hear the zombies from afar,

Their Undead stomachs are growling louder than the engine of a car.

My Beloved Jack O’ Lantern,

When will you return?

The Vampires are out looting until the sun rises up to burn.

There’s fresh blood on their fangs and I know I’ll be next,

They can hear my heart beat…didn’t you get my text?

My Beloved Jack O’ Lantern,

I know I don’t have much time left to wait for you,

The clock will strike midnight soon and I know that’s their cue.

Living in the middle of nowhere isn’t as luxurious as it seems,

Only Nature and the Undead will hear all my screams.

But I have Faith, when the last candle will burn,

I will see you again, my Beloved Jack O’ Lantern.

The Door

“Dirty shoes should always be cleaned”, stated Mrs. Rue,

“Oh please!” snapped Melanie, “A little dirt won’t kill you.”

Melanie skipped into the kitchen leaving behind a muddy trail,

Mrs. Rue sighed to herself as she grabbed the mop and pail.

Melanie wasn’t a relative, a loved one or a family friend,

She was a neighbor that needed someone to take her out before Halloween could end.

Melanie was nine years young, dressed as a zombie killer,

It wasn’t appropriate but her parents just loved spoiling her.

After Mrs. Rue mopped up the mess, she grabbed her purse to leave,

But somehow Melanie spilled grape juice allover her right sleeve.

Mrs. Rue asked the young girl, “What did you do?”

The little girl replied, “I spilled juice on my costume, what’s it look like to you?”

Mrs.Rue had to admit the girl was rude for someone her age,

Maybe her parents should put a muzzle on her mouth or lock her in a cage.

Mrs.Rue was a woman, who looked frail and old,

“Let’s just get a paper towel.” She said her voice sounding so cold.

Melanie walked out the kitchen not wanting to hear Mrs. Rue anymore,

When she stopped suddenly in front of a strange looking door.

The door was painted blue and decorated with six red flowers,

She wondered what could lay behind it, was it treasure or Ancient Powers?

Just as she was about to turn the knob, Mrs. Rue yelled out “No!”

Melanie flinched, “Why? Whatcha hiding? An eleventh toe?”

“It’s something you’re not meant to see, so grab your coat and let’s go.”

“No!” Melanie shouted, “Tell me what’s in there I want to know!”

The doorbell rang and the old woman glared, “This is the end of this, don’t ask no more!”

Mrs. Rue grabbed the bowl of candy and walked toward the house door.

Melanie rolled her eyes and she turned the doorknob shocked it opened with ease,

The door shot open and a tentacle grabbed the girl’s feet. “No! No! Please!”

Mrs. Rue heard Melanie’s screams and still passed out Tootsie Rolls,

Now what happened to Melanie? Well no one really knows.

This story wasn’t to scare you from visiting an old friend,

A closed door won’t lead to opportunity, just your bloody end.

“Boo!” Goes the Ghoulish Ghost standing over your bed,

“Boo!” Goes the Spider crawling through the hairs on your head.

“Boo!” Goes the Witch putting a spell on you,

“Boo!” Goes the Vampire drinking the blood of Sue.

“Boo!” Goes the Killer Doll waiting under the faucet,

“Boo!” Goes the Monster hiding deep in your closet.

“Boo!” Goes the prankster known as your older Brother,

“Boo!” Goes the Zombie…once known as your mother.

A Special Treat From Witches

Nail of a sloth, tail of a Newt,

Eye of a puppy…oh how cute!

A snake from the head of Medusa,

Tears from the eyes of a High School loser.

Soon my potion will be complete,

For all to consume as a delicious Halloween treat.

Then those pesky children down the road will learn,

They’ve messed with Witches far too long, now it’s our turn!

Don’t you worry, don’t you fret, keep your toes on your little rug,

This potion we’re brewing won’t kill your child…it’ll just turn him into a bug.

Millions of homes infested with insects and what will you do?

With your quick wits, you’ll just step on them with your enormous shoe.

Yes! This plan is amazing! It’s the best one yet,

A world without children is what us witches will get!

Let’s stir, sisters and brew this potion oh so right,

So it’ll be ready to pass out on Halloween Night!

Your Dearly Beloved

Lost, scared, frozen and pale,

Are you shaking now because of her wail?

Remember when you said she was no one?

Well ‘No One’ is back and she wants to have a little fun.

Don’t mind her razor sharp teeth and ebony eyes,

They’re better to see you with, don’t ruin the surprise.

She just wants a hug from you, don’t be rude!

So what if she rips you apart? Don’t be such a prude!

After all, you were the one that brought her back,

Not every dead soul should return, dear old Mack.

This isn’t a fairytale and this isn’t a spell,

This is your reality and now it’s your Hell.

Next time someone you love dies, let them be,

Goodbye Mack, I hear her footsteps approaching and it’s almost over,

No use in shouting and no point in fighting her,

This was your doing, give into the pain and give into her hunger.

The Colors Of Halloween

Pumpkins are Orange!

But nothing rhymes with orange.

Goblins and Ogres are Green!

Boy, are they mean!

Ghosts are White,

But they’re always out of sight.

Blood is Red,

Lose too much and you’ll be dead.

Black Cats are…well Black,

I used to have one as a pet and his name was Frack!

My favorite Power Ranger is Blue,

But the costume didn’t fit, I think I gained a few.

Why isn’t there a Ranger that’s Purple?

Just like orange, nothing rhymes with Purple.

That monster’s tongue is Pink!

Not sure where he came from, maybe the basement I think.

The inside of the monster’s belly is Gray,

I have school tomorrow…In this monster’s belly I will stay.

Ashes To Ashes

Ashes to Ashes

I heard my ancestors cry,

Ashes to Ashes

I watched them all hung up to die.

Ashes to Ashes

Their voices only come back for this one special night,

Ashes to Ashes

A night filled with magic, magic that feels right.

Ashes to Ashes

The black sky was covered with smoke,

Ashes to Ashes

Children sleeping in bed…never woke.

Ashes to Ashes

A bible in one hand and a torch in the other,

Ashes to Ashes

There was no goodbye when they took her mother.

Ashes to Ashes

Strange little prayers can’t save them now,

Ashes to Ashes

They know they’re time is up somehow.

Ashes to Ashes

Their cries taste as bitter as the ashes in the air,

Ashes to Ashes

Innocents were murdered…but does anyone care?

Ashes to Ashes

Ashes no more.

My Bloody Love

Do you remember what you told me last night?

You said, “Leave me alone!” and “I don’t like you!”, it didn’t feel right.

Because I loved you and I thought you loved me,

But it wasn’t true at all, you were just pretending.

Pretending so that you can taste my forbidden fruit,

And steal my innocence ripping my heart right from its root.

Now that it’s done and your mission was a success,

You want nothing to do with me, I was idiotic and gave you free access.

You moved on so quickly and I see he makes you smile,

A smile that once belonged to me! Although I haven’t seen my own in a while.

So I have decided to spend every day of my life getting you back,

Because you’re mine and mine alone! That my dear, is a fact.

But I can’t crucify you yet because I’m a liar,

I’m not some innocent toy to use…I’m a Vampire.

So heed my warning, while you enjoy every season and its weather,

I am going to find you and introduce you to my world, where we’ll be together… forever.

This Night

Creepy eyes follow me around,

They’re scarier on Goblins, Monsters and that evil weird Clown.

They glow in the dark like a night light,

Watching and waiting while giving me a fright.

The green eyes glow with hunger and pride,

There lies a hunger behind each set of eyes burning inside.

“Mommy, where are you?” I heard myself ask,

But silence answered back with her infamous cask.

Why can’t I move? My body is numb!

I should’ve listened to my heart and never answered the door-Gosh I’m dumb!

I know it won’t be long until I feel this mysterious creature’s bite,

Lurking in my bedroom waiting for when the time is right.

And when it does…I know that I will not survive this night.

The Darkness

Long lost words whisper in my ear,

“You’ve been gone far too long, welcome back my Dear.”

The faint smell of Death dances around my nose,

The Darkness has been waiting for me to slip up, it is always so close.

The Creatures await for a long night ahead,

Where they can feast on the living and sleep amongst the dead.

I thought they only come out for one night, but that thinking was wrong,

The Darkness never leaves because they’ve been here all along!

They’re the voices in our minds that tell us, we’re not good enough,

They’re the ones laughing and smiling when things in our lives get rough.

This may not be part of my Halloween story,

But the Darkness is a real monster, take it from me.

When life gets hectic and unorganized like a cyclone,

Understand that you are never alone.

We can defeat The Darkness by smiling at least once a day,

It’ll grow weaker, because you my Brave soldier, decided to stay.

Trick or Treat (P.S.A)

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lenore,

She was very popular amongst her town since the age of four.

Now she’s only a teen, still making friends with ease,

And she respects her elders by saying “Thank you” and “Please”.

But on the night of Halloween, something strange took place,

Lenore grew colder and boils started to cover her face.

Her mother made a quick trip to the E.R with the teen girl in tow,

Trying hard to drive through this unplanned Autumn snow.

But the Doctors were baffled at what they had all just saw,

Boils, warts, wrinkles and grey hair consumed the girl every one adored.

The Doctor’s asked Lenore, “What did you eat?”

“Nothing all day, I’m on a diet and I just cannot cheat!”

But it didn’t take long for Lenore to remember that she actually did,

She went to visit the old lady down the street named Anna Lee Sid.

Anna Lee gave Lenore a Caramel Apple that was so pure, juicy and sweet,

And without a second to think, Lenore took the apple to eat.

Now she lies dying slowly all without a reason why,

But wasn’t it clear, Anna Lee Sid’s identity was all a lie?

She wasn’t an old lady that stood home all day to stitch,

Oh now, Anna Lee Sid was an Evil Old Witch!

Lenore was too pure, too nice for Anna Lee to take,

So sweet Caramel Apples laced with poison she did bake.

All a part of the Witch’s dreadful and insane Evil spell,

To rid Lenore and all of her kindness so well!

The story sounds crazy, did Lenore die or did the poison ween?

I cannot say, but watch what you eat on the night of Halloween.

Down By The Old Oak Tree

Down by the Old Oak Tree,

I lost my front tooth,

By fighting Castello and his ugly sister Ruth.

Down by the Old Oak Tree,

I saw my first snowflake,

Never seen one up close, it was a sight to intake.

Down by the Old Oak Tree,

I hid away when the world turned to Hell,

Now the Undead rise up from their graves with a hunger so swell.

Down by the Old Oak Tree,

I thought I was safe here and protected no less,

Turns out my hideout wasn’t safe from this mess.

Down by the Old Oak Tree,

I don’t remember how I got bit,

I can’t run fast anymore so right here is where I’ll sit.

Down by the Old Oak Tree,

The memories I’ve had here, my mind will soon forget all of it,

But I’ll be free from this new world with one single bullet.

Down by the Old Oak Tree,

On that bottom branch is where I broke a rib when I fell on my side,

The same tree that saw me live is now where I have died.

Halloween After Party

The moon is brighter than it normally is,

Children were dressed like ninjas, superheroes and Princesses.

They’re invading the streets with candy on their brain,

Knocking on doors of neighbors, access and sugary treats is what they all will gain.

Chocolate, gummies, chewing gum and…is this floss?!

Will soon fill their buckets and bags with just a simple toss.

Once the army of little soldiers, cops and trademarked characters wind down,

The adults can lock their doors and change into their nightgown.

The night was over and so was their time of being kind,

“Goodbye” fake smiles and “Hello” to a fresh glass of wine.

Open up the good candies and divulge, just don’t let the kids hear!

Happy Halloween to all! Goodbye, until next year.

Sleep Tight My Little Angel

Sleep Tight My Little Angel,

Keep warm from the radiant light of the moon,

The sun will rise again, so a new day can start soon.

Sleep Tight My Little Angel,

The bats are flying away from the rising sun,

The Witches return home after a night of mischievous fun.

Sleep Tight My little Angel,

For no monsters can scare you anymore,

Halloween is over and there’s only ‘Thanks’ and ‘Merry’ to endure.

Sleep Tight My little Angel,

Let the Goddess of Dreams take you away,

To a beautiful world where you’re free just like the Bay.

Sleep Tight My Little Angel,

Let the moonlight in and sleep well,

You need your strength to survive your non Halloween Hell.

Thank you so much for reading this! I am a huge fan of Halloween and I wanted to share some of the Magic that I feel on this day with all of you.
