1.3 – Control (Stewardship)

As mentioned, as an Heir and Child of God you are entitled and equipped to operate in the Power and Authority of your Creator. By design this gives you dominion over the world and access to divine intervention.

As a result, you are in the world but not of the world. This means that you must not see the world as the world sees it. And you must not make friendship with the world. For friendship with the world is an enemy of God.

Supporting Word:

“If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”

(John 15:19)

“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”

(James 4:4)

Therefore, you do not operate as the world operates. You function by grace, not by works or deeds. You live by faith, not by sight. You operate in Jesus Christ through the Law of the Spirit, not by worldly rules and regulations.

Supporting Word:

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.”

(Ephesians 2:8-9)

“For we live by faith, not by sight.”

(2 Corinthians 5:7)

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

(Romans 8:1-2)

“And so the Law was our guardian until the Messiah came, so that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come about, we are no longer under a guardian.”

(Galatians 3:24-25 – International Standard Version)

In relation, worldly work is heavy, it is laborious. People who labor exert a lot of effort and reap little results. This type of work is vain. In relation, selfish ambition also leads to vain work. Such as, laboring to get rich, rather than seeking God to receive all things.

Supporting Word:

“What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun? All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.”

(Ecclesiastes 2:22-23)

“A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat-- for he grants sleep to those he loves.”

(Psalm 127:1-2)

“Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness.”

(Proverbs 23:4)

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

(Matthew 6:33)

In addition, worldly work involves making sacrifices, which calls you to give up something or to “sell” yourself short. This behavior places an unnecessary burden on your life, which your Creator never called for you to bare. God knows your worth and would not have you to give yourself away to worldly sacrifices. For obedience is better than sacrifice.

Supporting Word:

““Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.””

(Matthew 11:28-30)

“You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings.”

(1 Corinthians 7:23)

“But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.”

(1 Samuel 15:22 – New Living Translation)

Therefore, you must function by grace through faith and never by selfish ambition. Because God already has plans to prosper you, which is connected to your inheritance. And so you must not move on your own or as the world moves, but as your Operator leads you.

Supporting Word:

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”

(Philippians 2:3-4)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

(Jeremiah 29:11)

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.”

(Romans 8:14)

As you are led, you must follow Kingdom Principles. These principles are the things that your Creator is concerned about, i.e. His Business. Likewise, these principles are the things and even greater things that Jesus prophesied that you would do. And so being about your Father’s Business, you must do what pleases Him regardless of man’s opinions.

Supporting Word:

“And he said unto them, How is it that you sought me? knew you not that I must be about my Father’s business?”

(Luke 2:49 – King James 2000 Bible)

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father”

(John 14:12)

“On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts.”

(1 Thessalonians 2:4)

Furthermore, with Kingdom Principles you have the ability to operate in the Will of your Creator. This is how you access divine intervention from Heaven. And with this intervention, circumstances and situations that affect the people of the world does not affect you.

Supporting Word:

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”

(Romans 12:2)

“A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;”

(Psalm 91:7-11)…

Following Jesus in the 21st Century Preview

The following is a free preview of Following Jesus in the 21st Century by Prince Sylvester. Following Jesus in the 21st Century is not a Christian Book, it is a book for Believers-- people who believe in God and His Son, which is Jesus Christ. This is not a book for religious hypocrites. This is a book for spiritual creations who are having a worldly experience. To begin, we are living in a time where Christians have become modern day Pharisees and Sadducees. Who with their religious beliefs and politics of man have disconnected themselves from God and from His Principles. Furthermore, these hypocrites (Christians/Religious People) do not move with God. In fact, they move against God. By spreading hatred, judgment, and the condemning of people. These hypocrites turn their noses up to the less fortunate and create religious “clicks” that distances themselves from people who are different from them. Additionally, these hypocrites use the teachings of man to control the masses and to be worshiped by man. These hypocrites curse sinners and their enemies, while forgetting about their own sins and transgressions. God is in no way shape or form connected to any of theses people because their actions and heart is not Godly but religious. And God has never been for religion. He has always been for relationship. Moreover, Christians have conformed to the world and the world’s way of thinking. From work to wealth, from politics to authority, from education to skill, from decisions to circumstances, and from relationships to community. Christians have indeed lost their way. Therefore, I wrote this book so the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross would not be in vain. I wrote this book for people, not Christians, but for people who truly want to follow Jesus. For people who want to walk with Jesus and not against Him. For people who have the Mind of Christ. For people who have a heart for God and for God’s People. For people who want to receive every promise God gave to them (directly or indirectly). From the blessing to dominion, power, and authority over the world. This book, authorized by your Manufacturer (God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit), is the Owner’s Manual for Today’s Believers, i.e. Followers of Jesus. And so with this manual in combination with the Bible is your way of escape from religious views, politics of man, systematic oppression, cycles, and generational curses. Finally, in this manual you will obtain wisdom, knowledge, and understanding about everything you have inside of you in order to Follow Jesus in the 21st Century. Topics include, Connecting to God, Relationships with God and People, Discerning of Spirits, Spiritual and Natural Battles, The Word of God, The Blessing, The Holy Spirit, Faith, Work, Purpose, Money, Rest, Prophecy, Healing, Ministry, Prayer, Worship, Heaven, Angels, Demons, and more. It is time to get back to your original working order. It is time for a Jesus Reset, Prince Sylvester
