Dirty Pool

They’ve got the guns

and they’ve got the brawn

who has the brains

and who has the time

I’ve got a cue stick

and I have the chalk

white as a ghost

wipe down the chalkboard

There’s a ten dollar bill

on the corner

of the pool table

don’t sink the cue ball

The break

pick up the rack

clickety clack

balls everywhere

You’re stripes

I’m solids

the eight ball is black

and the one is yellow

Sister Rubber

Blond curly hair

mouth wide open

coiffed and perfumed

treated like a dog

There are the cheap ones

and there are the expensive ones

but either way

any way you give it

She walks

she talks

she has a herstory

pure fiction

The imaginary controversy

that involves a senator

and his loving bag of Fritos

in sickness or in health

The stronger the better

push her around

fuck her brains out

then fold her up

and put her in the closet

Rough Sex

Pushed and pounded

boring, physical sex

lacking feeling

muscle and bone

Hard enough

to work hard

to lift heavy things

to dig deep wells

Piss him off

push his buttons

then fuck him

what a concept

She knows

your weaknesses

and weak men

are a waste of time

Maybe

I work for a living

but I am no fool

about what a woman wants

The Odds

Where are we at?

Do you see us?

A hundred to one or

a thousand to one

McDonalds

Chevrolet

The sex trade

The army

Cocaine

The black market

A forty-ouncer

the alcohol industry

Angels

and gasoline

crosses

and double-crossed

Strength

and oversight

vigilance

and surveillance

Porn

All these pretty women

are they too dumb

to get a job at McDonalds?

Probably strippers

maybe on coke

money for cosmetics

and fancy clothes

Lets consider evolution

breeding and beauty

personality and grace

This guy owns a gun

and has plenty of coke

this chick makes time

looking for an in

Pretty pussy, I like pussy

Nice tits, I like tits

Make sure and shave your legs

The Single Mom

Her glory

is unmistakeable, true

works too hard

kids in daycare

Another man

water under the bridge

a couple of kids

playing catch

No money for the hairdresser

no money for silverware

perhaps a job downtown

maybe so

to and from work

on the city bus

listen to the robot

wait for your stop

a job is an asset

if you can do it

it’s a hard world, dammit

lay around on your butt

Drugs

Naive kids

dying for a joint

twenty-four

tire gauge

Blown mind

XTC

LSD

ten years

Looking for answers

then looking for a fix

the parents look on

fearful

Rebellion

crystal meth

the rock ‘n roll industry

heroin

Jimi Hendrix

Jim Morrison

Janis Joplin

On ice
