After this Life

(Poetry based on scripture)

After this life

There is a reality in my heart,

a tug that pulls me and imparts,

a feeling that speaks of a life after death,

that there is more after my last breath.

Most feel this pull which is instilled in their heart,

God created us with this feeling of expectation,

it drives us and pulls us and we seek affirmation.

The Bible confirms this truth in the life of Jesus Christ.

He died for us then was resurrected,

then his gift of salvation will our next life be affected.

All humans will live after death,

but where will they be after their last breath.

There are only two places that will exist,

Heaven or Hell and you get the gist.

So search your heart for a choice you will make,

your eternal location is at stake.

Accept the salvation that Jesus does offer,

eternal life of which he is the author.

I am overwhelmed at Gods creation,

the magnitude of the formation.

The diversity is beyond comprehension,

the variety is staggering of its dimension.

Mankind is likewise beyond our understanding,

each person is unique each with a different branding.

As a seed dies it is transformed into a beautiful flower,

it`s but an example of Gods creative power.

The resurrection that happens after we die,

we are transformed from our creator that is above the sky.

As the Son of God attained his glorious body after he was raised,

it lifts my spirit and I`m amazed.

To realize that the gift of salvation,

that I will receive an immortal body after this life’s cessation.

This hope and promise fills my heart,

gives me peace to my spirit it does impart.

1 Corinthians 15:50-54

50 *][*I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 *][*Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 *][*in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 *][*For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality. 54 *][*When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

The Twinkling of an eye

I yearn for this twinkling of an eye,

for the believer will not die.

We all will be changed,

our bodies will be rearranged.

From mortal to immortality,

a new and wondrous materiality,

it will be our finality.

Death will be swallowed up in victory,

and it will be our final valedictory.

Our perishable will be forever changed,

to imperishable in the exchange.

Our savior will come for us in that time,

it will be wonderfully sublime.

A trumpet will be heard,

then our glorious change we will incur.

The mystery will then be exposed,

and to all it will be disclosed.

Don`t be left behind,

do not to the gospel be blind.

Divine Glory

Can we love others as Jesus loved us,

only if we accept his love in his salvation.

He then will baptize us with the Holy Spirit which,

will create in us an amazing transformation.

He emptied himself of his fullness of his Godly form,

and put on the flesh and with mankind he did conform.

Yet he was our creator in his eternal state,

later offering salvation and eternal life with a clean slate.

This love is beyond our grasp,

it`s gives us joy and makes us gasp.

We can only try to love as he when he came,

and try to love others and be the same.

His glory to proclaim should be our mission,

shout it to all his love must be our daily ambition.

Glory to Jesus will be our motto,

as we are sounding this musical ostinato.

Life transformation

What is a life transformation,

does it give you a spiritual sensation,

or create a stupendous elation,

does it signify a significant appellation.

What can cause this internal transformation,

that will alter an internal causation.

It has to be a change so great,

that your past will be a forgotten state.

The gift of salvation answers this,

filling you with thankful bliss.

Your eternal state is now assured,

eternity now is forever assured.

By grace is the gift given,

from faith it has been driven.

The Lord Jesus has paid the price of your sin,

and every believer does win.

This frees you from the fear of death,

when you take your last breath.

Instantly when you die,

you will be with Jesus in Heaven on high.

Accept this gift while you can,

go to Heaven from the frying pan.

Romans 12

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 *][*Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

A Living Sacrifice

Offer your body as a living sacrifice,

this is because of love and this does suffice.

This is true worship and is pleasing,

don`t lust or let sin be you a teasing.

Do not conform to the world Paul said,

but renew your mind instead.

Then you can test and approve Gods will,

and in his will you will it thrill.

Gods mercy is in view,

offered through his son Jesus it is so true.

The Rapture

What is the mystery Paul writes,

he says that believers will one day take flight.

Into the clouds they will be snatched,

into the heavens they will be dispatched.

To be with the savior forever more,

for eternity with the one we adore.

This event will happen in an instant,

it could be imminent and not distant.

The time is short so don`t hesitate,

accept the Lord Jesus and then celebrate.

Don`t be left behind,

for eternal life in Heaven you will find.

The following verse Paul writes of a mystery;

Romans 16:25 Now to Him who is able to establish you to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past,

Other scriptures in the New Testament acknowledge this mystery and reveal

to us the glorious hope to all that believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

First Thessalonians 4:17 “Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”

First Thessalonians 4:16 “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.”

Titus 2:13 “waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”

John 14:3 “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, you may be also.”

Matthew 24:30-31 “^ ^Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

First Corinthians 15:51-53 “Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.  For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.”

Philippians 3:20-21 “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”

1 Peter 5:7 Turn all your anxiety over to God because he cares for you.

The prospect of surgery can be a formidable thought,

the fear and turmoil it does wrought.

It can drive you into despair,

but comfort can be had through prayer.

The prayers of loved ones can sooth your mind,

calm your anxiety and give you peace,

then your anxiety can get release.

Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

This verse can guard your heart,

it can to you comfort impart.

The power of prayer is a precious thing,

into your life assurance and hope can prayers bring.

The prayers of others are blessings to be treasured,

the impact and peace cannot be measured.

Matthew 7:13-14

^13 ^“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. ^14 ^But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

The Gates

One is narrow and one is wide,

which one will you decide.

Will you decide destruction,

or elect life which will be your deduction.

All would choose life,

with no destructive strife.

We all live forever after we die,

but where we spend it is our eternal cry.

We can choose the narrow gate and it will be a joyful cry,

or the wide gate and it will be an eternal longing to die.

Jesus offers the narrow way,

his salvation you choose I pray.

Humility of the Heart

Oh I pray that I can find humility,

for in it I`ll find tranquility.

Arrogance can waste me away,

can keep my peace at bay.

But humility can sooth my heart,

give me comfort and peace it can impart.

A humble soul is what I need,

from it peace I will get indeed.

My creator Jesus came in humility,

his offer gives me stability.

He came to save and to serve,

not one did this gift they deserve.

But in humility and love,

he came from Heaven above.

He paid the miraculous cost,

so our eternal life would not be lost.

His humility was beyond compare,

in his suffering and love he did bare,

our sins on himself fully and aware,

Believe why he said he came,

accept his gift and his salvation do claim.

Often the question is asked,

to define what is truth.

Our hearts are then tasked,

can we find truth maybe in our youth.

We stumble through life in this quest,

looking for a truth that will define it best.

surely there is a single truth that can this search address.

Why I am here and what does it mean,

surely there is a truth and can it be seen.

Life can`t be an accident of itself,

it`s not conceivable or truthful that I have gleaned.

There has to be a designer to put all life together,

a creative force that is the tether.

In my search I found the truth in the one,

who humbled himself on the cross,

so that a sinner cannot be lost.

He created all that there is by his love,

to draw out those to take with him to heaven above.

Can we ignore such a sacrificial offer,

and refuse such a wondrous proffer.

I`ll close with this beautiful statement,

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

This is the truth we can`t ignore,

to ignore we close the truth of the door.

Open this way to your hearts,

accept his salvation and truth to you Jesus does imparts.

The Great Commission (Matthew)

^16 ^Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. ^17 ^When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. ^18 ^Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ^19 ^Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ^20 ^and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The Great Commission

What is the great commission,

it is a spiritual admission.

It comes from the heart,

and it is just a start.

For in the heart the love for God is a passion,

that becomes a daily ration.

His love for us is evident in his sons sacrifice,

that becomes our commitment and daily advice.

For we know that he will be with us always,

in every place and in all the hallways.

Jesus has all authority,

in every place with complete majority.

Be a disciple where you are,

in your heart set on the highest bar,

carry your message wide and far,

do it in love and refrain from any physical spar.

Let gentleness and love be your tools,

and be your daily rules.

Baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

make that your joyful lyric.

Revelation 3:20

^20 ^Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Knock Knock

He stands at your door,

whether you are rich or poor.

Do you hear his knock,

Or do you his knock block.

The time is passing by,

the gift will soon fly.

Today may be your last chance,

so don`t miss the saviors eternal dance.

Jesus will forgive your sins,

and then your eternal life begins.

Death will no longer have its sting,

your passage to eternal bliss will begin.

He took all your sins on himself,

and put your sins on a forgotten shelf.

Then his Father resurrected him from the dead,

then gives you eternal life with him instead.

Romans 10:9

^9 ^If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Why must we suffer,

often without a buffer.

All will suffer somehow

but why does suffering God allow.

It has to be because of free will,

it’s a tough thing a reality pill.

It can be physical or mental,

but it’s never gentle.

It can be caused by others or even accidental,

and it can be transcendental.

But God did not want a robot that had no choice,

he created us with a discerning voice,

He gave us a heart and a mind,

so our decisions would not be blind.

Then he put on the flesh to reveal the way,

Right Heart

The heart has to be right,

in order that you might see the light.

What is a right heart,

a heart seeking the true God is the start.

Then the mind can find the answer,

which will remove the curse of sin like cancer.

What is the answer you ask,

is it some kind of a task.

No it`s not a task to do,

but a gift that can be given to you.

The Son of God Jesus came in the flesh,

to offer Salvation from a sinful mess.

The resurrection gives us eternal life,

and rescues us from eternal damnations strife.

Repent and believe by faith,

be regenerated and accept the gift,

then your heart will get the spiritual lift.

Romans 10:9

^9 ^If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
