Summer long without

Two months free of burden

Run, jump and breathe

A shift in the north wind to end a season so sweet

Leaves to the eyes turn brown

Like dead solders lying on the ground

Empty branches now clatter

Like touching of swords in battle

Now I stand in the open

Trees no longer my protector

Body now wrapped by the north wind

Laying upon my body its sin

My body so exposed

The first trickle from my nose

The start of my internal struggle

Snot production started on the double

It dribbles for all to see

Right in the middle of my face it be

I gasp inward to reverse its flow

Just a little snack while I go

The mucus builds till its cup over flows

Down my nostril and out of my nose

Like watering the bushes my mustache is full

In the cold winter breeze it will freeze, it would

Call me mister snot why not?

I am full to the last drop

Uncontrollably it drips

I’m taking medicine but it still slips

I expel some

I eat some

Some I just play with

Breathing in and out

It slips I sip

Like a spaghetti noodle on my lip

It feeds me with no nourishment I hunger

It robs me of moisture so arid I thirst

It makes me lonely avoided by others

I wave white tissue I surrender

Deep within my anguish

I slowly wear from the game

No one to come near me

So I play with my snot why not?

In my sickness I’ve gone insane

It all started with a drip of snot that day
